Good pub with an outside inside with heating for smokers or capers, dance floor, friendly atmosphere friendly staff plenty of bars you do pay to get in after ten pm but with the added security I would rather pay for this.

After going Mambos for years with no problems as me and the girlfriend love there salads there. Asked for a pint to be told yes and then some rude lady said I’m not welcome. I asked why and could you explain for her to just say she doesn’t need to. Not sure if they have new owners but how rude and unprofessional no people in there either.

Night out with work colleagues and had a right laugh 😃 service was great at the bar. I will definitely come here again. These two crack me up.

Loud anti-social music impacting surrounding areas which should not be allowed. The town council need to address this.

Loud music until gone 3am, council say they will take action. Utterly antisocial. Entitled. Complain to the council to get action against this blot on the town.

Poor all across everything. Said I was gldoing cocaine in the toilet whilst going to the toilet. Avoid overpriced and security are heavy handed unless you're a regular druggy

This place is one of the worst night clubs I have ever been too. Visited this weekend. A ridiculous fee of £6 each to get in, you certainly are not paying for anything special. A very strangely laid out place, over priced drinks, dirty floors. The state of the ladies toilets on Saturday night were horrendous. 4 overflowing filthy toilets, one cubicle had a used tampon swimming on the top, one poo, and the others water & pee overflowing. Why this wasn't shut down I do not know!! I reported the overflowing toilets to the bouncer, & saw many other women disgusted when they walked straight back out of the loo after entering. We sat outside for a bit to have a drink in the garden, the toilets were not shut for another hour, (& I tell you what I have nothing to say about some of the women that continued to use the overflowing toilets 🤮) There was another set of loos that were just about clean enough to use hidden on the bottom floor, thank goodness. Then the bouncer finally guards the door and stops allowing people in, well that was until he got bored and went off to chat at the bar so more women had to endure the poor hygiene of this place. Why on earth not put an OUT OF ORDER sign on them. I very much doubt this was a one off. You need to be extremely drunk to enter this nightclub to believe it's any good. If that's is their hygiene standards I would worry about going home with more than a hangover, more likely to get sick with gastroenteritis from the cleanliness of this place.

DO NOT GO HERE. My partner was beaten to a pulp outside of Mambos and the bouncers did NOTHING. Absolute ignorance to assault until police are involved. Thank goodness for CCTV or else you'd be screwed going here.

A hidden off the street, "secret venue" that is actually rather spacious inside [see images]. The food was great, especially the Butchers Block sharing platter, I also recommend the Waffle for £4.95, if you have the space. Drinks were well priced, all in all a great value afternoon watching the rugby. We will be back!

Honestly used to love mambo but in the last 2 years it’s completely gone down hill staff were okay we didn’t really have any problems but the facilities were disgusting, you don’t expect club toilets to be 5 star but only two toilets were actually working the rest were blocked with urine overflowing onto the floor because they were so full staff were notified by several different people and nothing was done and then when you did get into a toilet there was broken glass all over the floors honestly the worst place in taunton which is such a shame as we used to love it

I visited with a friend about my age and it was sad to see a once happening busy place now dead quiet on a Friday night. We were pretty much the only ones in there. Then we got asked to leave because they were turning it into a club and would only let in "men" with trousers or jeans and I had joggers on. A paying customer in a dead pub. Great security. I then rolled myself a smoke with some legal CBD weed that I bought in a shop and was told I wasn't allowed to smoke that there. They mentioned because I had king skins (which you can buy legally in a shop) that it obviously wasn't legal weed. I said it is, unfortunately it's not that great, smells and tastes like weed but doesn't do a hell of a lot too you. They said well I don't know that do I. I said, well you do because I just told you. They threatened to call the police and see what they said and I replied, yes lets do that then. They ended up getting so annoyed with me trying to wind me up they picked up my guitar and the pot which my legal weed was in and dumped it all outside the door. Anyway I got up and left as I had already been asked to leave anyway! I didn't realise until I got to the next pub that the security that took all my stuff outside also stole my pot of weed! This is why places like this are now empty, because of bored self entitled security with nothing better to do than harass people for ridiculous reasons.

Great place, but they should stop silent disco night

Ordered a pint of Camden Hells lager. Tasted of vinegar, which suggests to me things need a bit of a clean. Floors downstairs and upstairs are sticky, which again suggests that things need a proper clean. Didn't eat and probably wouldn't given the cleanliness.

Awful doorman bully man bouncers if you have disabilities I asked the young lady behind the bar upstairs to take my change to buy a drink and apparently they can’t do this and I brought this up up with the door staff because I have disabilities and I have been told the staff don’t have enough time to count change and my disabilities isn’t considered should be considered and I am wasting their time and I should count the change myself even though I have limit disabilities. The door staff head called over by the young lady even though I showed them my disabilities card and wanted to Chuck me out! Bully boy door boor staff! If you disabilities please avoid as they don’t care about your health and apparently only take notes, card or if you give the exact money because the lazy staff can’t be bothered to count the money you give the. Don’t employ bar staff if they don’t want to take your money and take that little extra time to count a few coins and give that extra customer service. It would also be good to know if the doorman has a valid SIA license to because when I asked to see it he wasn’t prepared to show it neither?

Had a group of lads be homophobic to me in this disastrous place while i was coming out of the toilets. First bouncer I told pretty much laughed at my face and said 'I don't care, Ill chuck you out in a minute' and had to wait a while later for it all to kick off to get any acknowledgement from any other bouncers. This is not a safe and welcoming place for LGBTQ+ even though they like to make out otherwise

They had a little Christmas fair going on today, with Santa's grotto. Was quite nice, got my money's worth and the children met Santa. Win win 👏

Always great atmosphere, best music and well organised events. It's nice to see that Mambo's is serving excellent and delicious food which is great. I highly recommend to try it out, especially cauliflower spicy bites, yummy. Compliments to the Chef.

Literally walked in, them pull out by some bouncer.. apparently the manager didn't want me in there.. even though, I literally came from Vivary park.. wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Went hear for drinks, ordered small prosecco bottles, was surprised at £9.90 price, most expensive ever paid. Checked their website, says £6.95. I pointed this out to the barman (Very Politely), was told it took a while to update. As I pointed out this should be updated I was met with a very aggressive and nasty response from a young lady (well. I say lady!!!!!) Who told me prices change ( Not sure nearly £3.00 is expected increase), she said if I had an issue I should take it up with her as she was the manager. I said I was not impressed but was told to deal with it. Not sure who owns this establishment but you need to sort your employees. I have subsequently been told that prices vary a lot. VERY EXPENSIVE, INNACURATE PRICING, VERY! VERY! POOR CUSTOMMER SERVICE, VERY RUDE and AGGRESIVE MANGER. Avoid at all costs if you want an affordable drink with good service, and manager who actually understands how to talk to customers.

When you can’t get around Taunton on a T20 Cricket team match… one thing you can guarantee and rely on is a peaceful atmosphere at Mambo … Sunday afternoon chilled cock tails and food wonderful outdoor chilled space to escape from the loud cheers from county cricket ground.. The entire team will make sure you are comfortable and supplied to chill the night away!!!

We loved the outside vibe , the drinks were cold , the snacks were ok , it was a great place to chill after shopping and sightseeing. Try the thatchers “blood orange” cider……..it’s cheeky

The food poor with a lovely Hostile atmosphere from the steroids on the door to management. but when wanting to use the toilets well that was another World be it Mens or Ladies they were both DISGUSTING . Sick everywhere in the females on the floor inside the cubical and in the sink. Mens well someone decided to use the wee trough to do there number Two’s . Cubicle was just as bad with urine everywhere. Tried the outside toilets and and got my partner to check the females. I won’t even say what was found in there. So thought this might have been a one off, so went there a few weeks later and guess what they were no better. Going outside on the floor would’ve felt a lot cleaner.

Unfortunately, the venue doesn’t make up for the racism. The security are far from scrupulous so you end up with unsavoury characters where there shouldn’t be, and the staff are happy to take money over safety. I had to call the police for a solution and only then was given assurances that the situation would be dealt with. Overall, management needs updating on so much; security, safety, racism protocols , discrimination protocols and policies. And staff need to handle those situations accordingly. It’s 2023, do better. UPDATE- racism isn’t tolerated, as long as you report to a manager who isn’t taking drugs. I’ve since been told by police, most staff are intoxicated, or under the influence and to report any issues with Mambos to head office.

Went out with a friend here, bouncers took me aside and wanted to search me because of my long black coat. They took me out back, took items, picked up my pint and the bouncer grabbed it off me and chucked it on the floor. stole a full pouch of tobacco. And still kicked me out. Those bouncers have a big time power trip. I was also blacklisted for 6 months?? I was not violent, wasn’t rude, didn’t resist and was just trying to have a good night, they cornered me and talked to me with aggression they were 🤬

Shame really, this place had so much potential but the manager & her side kick severely lack intelligence, & knowledge of customer service, clearly shouldn’t be in the industry. The language, aggression & continued swearing to customers is absolutely vile. These pair really think they are something! Just dolled up bullies who can’t speak without using foul language, no respect for their customers & zero professionalism. Wake up Mambo, James Eyre, speak to your staff & customers - these two are destroying what used to be a lovely place to visit!

I don't find the welcome very warm. Apparently not all Europeans are welcome in this bar. I find it shocking how the manager doesn't let (European) people in without a good reason. The manager is not very friendly and is not open to discussion. She will send her dogs instead. It seems that they prefer conflict to discussion.

We were in a large group upstairs in the outside area. It was comfortable and warm with the heaters on. We had drinks and their light food. Considering they aren't known for food, it was pretty good - with a good range of sandwich and fries options and all at pretty reasonable prices for a club.

The price for entry is a total bargain if you enjoy being crammed into a dirty space where management is more interested in squeezing as many paying customers into the venue as possible with no consideration for cleanliness or the actual capacity of the space. I mentioned to the people working the door including a bouncer that the toilets were in an awful state and were coated from top to bottom in sick and broken glass and their response was along the lines that it should be expected on a Saturday night. It's always great to see a venue setting its own standards so high.

I've been a few times and gave yet to find it as enjoyable as I've been told it is. Staff told us we had to move as they needed our table, so we did and then despite being ID to enter, we were all IDd again.

This place has no customer service. As a lot of reviews have said the blonde manager is very rude and a motor mouth. As are all the bouncers rude and aggressive not welcoming at all. The drinks are all watered down and awful. Strange way to ID people using a machine saying no ID now entry in a rude way. They charge money to come into a bar in the evening £5 sometimes raising it whenever they want. The place attracts the low. Place is always understaffed and takes ages to get served and when they do they always mess up the order. This place needs to get shut down and let someone else take over.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is lovely and atmosphere is really nice. Love going here.

Wednesday night in Taunton... it's Mambo!

Travelled for over an hour to see a mate perform at the bar for Taunton Pride. Her set was cut down to 20 minutes from an hour and she didnt even get to finish the song before the management interrupted to say it was time to get off stage so a DJ could play some songs. Previous band was allowed to play way over their planned set. Beer was super overpriced too. Very disappointed.

Over priced… lunch There was like 5 different meats for burgers, but not one option for vegetarians other than a salad, which wasn’t nice and the waiter never checked on me. So just most of it uneaten… Disappointed considering I had been here before for drinks

An entry charge of £3 which raises to £5 for no obvious reason at 00:50am is a little unjustified given the drinks prices. Staff are rude and think “last orders” mean the bar is now closed. Not enough bar staff, too many bouncers.

Serves drinks cold and wet, just how I like them.

Music was ok. People I was with were fantastic, swarming with bouncers which made us feel uncomfortable, There are different floors making it better for smaller groups but upstairs floor is uneven making it awkward to walk around. Drinks expensive and bar staff were rude.

It was my first time yesterday to visit the pub and it was a bad experience. The lady with blonde hair who stand near the entrance and some bouncers are really rude . they took me to the cocaine test. and left my friend who is a local guy, and told that we have a doubt that he is using cocaine, my friend even left me at the bar doubting me .. its a very bad experience and shame on that lady and some bouncers who did this wantedly. all they need is someone innocent to prove their stupidity. ONE OF THE WORST PUB IN TOWN.. donno Y the counxil is allowing it.

Relaxing atmosphere, good food and service.

Nothing good to say about this place, the staff constantly try to overcharge and give short measures, the drinks taste watered down, and for some reason it attracts the lowest of the low for their customers. A pity because it could be so much better. Food seems to be limited to pizzas.

Saturday night. Queues absolutely horrendous (hour+ at 11pm). Bring ID, even if you're over 30, as you won't get in without it.

Nice atmosphere, we went in weekday for drinks to celebrate birthday, we were shocked by prices £25 for pitcher which was crazy as previously been to w.spoon and it was like £6 for same one, only place open with music and some kind of life, staff were amazing and friendly, felt for them having to run around, but they did it with a smile. No my go to place but was OK.

Went last week for a few beers on a stopover night. Bloody great laugh. Bar staff were friendly and the karaoke guys were good fun. Met some of the locals and had a generally fantastic night. Also chatted with one of the regulars Peter who always wins the karoake... 🤣
