Great looking classic pub ❤️ Winner of the Best destination to go for a pint or food in Devizes

Very warm atmosphere here with attentive staff, good service, beer was good and a great ambiance all round, well recommended and the food looked amazing

Just got back home had a delicious lunch. food pub staff very welcoming nice and warm and fire lit great. Yes I would go again definitely. Great.

This place is such a great place to eat - best in devizes by a long shot. The decor is so cosy and beautiful and the food is excellent but the piece de resistance was the hot chocolate! My god - the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had with squishy, gorgeous marsh mellows and cream - brilliant

Went for Sunday lunch, very disappointed. Both had the pork which was very fatty and tasteless. The carrot and swede mash was also tasteless, carrots were overcooked. The only things that tasted good was the crackling and cabbage. Overall very disappointed with the meal.

Enjoyed a celebration dinner here with friends last Saturday evening. It was our first visit and it certainly won't be our last. The food was excellent, probably one of the best dinners we've had since moving to Wiltshire from London 7 years ago. The menu was original and imaginative, and the food superbly prepared. Service was friendly and unobtrusive and prices quite reasonable bearing in mind the quality of the food. Very happy to recommend the Black Swan to anyone who enjoys top quality dining with no fuss in a relaxed and informal environment.

Always lovely food, attentive service and great atmosphere - fantastic to have this place so close to us. The manager is very warm and friendly and always makes us feel welcome.

We had a lovely one night stay with my twin sister and her partner to celebrate our birthdays. The room was lovely and clean with views over the market square and had a very comfortable bed. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was wonderful and tasty. The staff were very kind and considerate throughout which made our experience with you warm and very personable. We loved it, thank you.

5 star food! Had an amazing lunch there. Beautiful flavoursome pulled beef in a brioche roll and triple cooked chips was a winner.

Really lovely place to stay! Provided a wonderful breakfast, clean rooms with lots of character and charm. I was very happy staying at the Black Swan!

We ate in the restaurant. We were recommended this by a local glamping spot - The Shires. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful luxurious food. They didn’t have a children’s menu but were happy to accommodate the kids with smaller portions.

Excellent service with helpful, polite staff. Although we we on a reduced menu due to a large group, I thoughly enjoyed our visit.

Friendly pub and a nice place to meet for lunch

I would have wanted to give the Black Swan 5 stars but the room let it down, paint peeling off the ceiling, the sink plug had no chain on it making it difficult to get out the plug hole and the shower door was full of black mould.

Absolutely loved our stay here, the food was amazing, best veggie meal I've ever had in a restaurant. The room was very good and they even had a little fridge in the hall with fresh milk and cold water in it. There was tea, coffee and little shortbread biscuits in the room, beautiful smelling toiletries in the bathroom. Also in the room was an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. The staff were friendly and super helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

i came in for a meal to where staff was smirking and trying not to laugh at my son who has down syndrome i’m very disappointed i left straight away i don’t recommend this pub as ur charging a lot of money for a meal so surely thr service should be 10/10 but it was 0/10

Fabulous pub. Some really different, interesting and very tasty dishes on the menu. Not cheap but definitely worth it. Great service too.

At 75yrs found access to 2nd floor bedrooms difficult re original staircase. Not a unique problem to this hotel. But would be wise to check when booking any historic property. All other aspects okay.

Very nice Sunday lunch. Quality of food and cooking was excellent.

Couldn't ask for more, staff very friendly and helpful. Our room (room 4) was very clean with everything needed for an overnight stay. Breakfast the next morning was exquisite which was just what we needed to set us up for the day. Location was perfect, situated overlooking the Market Place. Will definitely return here when we visit Devizes again.

We were just visiting Devizes after a day at Stone Henge, looking for somewhere to have an early evening meal. The Black Swan looked very inviting. There were some great dishes on the menu. We had Sea Bream, and Cod Risotto. Both were extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. When we sent our compliments to the chef for what was as good as any restaurant food, we were told that it had been prepared by the young lady who normally only makes the starters! Well she deserves a promotion, the meals were fantastic!

Fabulous pub with delicious food, lovely staff, and beautiful rooms if you are staying there. We recently had a function there, and Steph and her team were brilliant throughout - we were so delighted with everything that they did for us. It is a really top quality place to stay, eat and drink in Devizes

Lovely room ( 4 ) HUGE bed nice and clean Bathroom spacious and pristine. Staff were lovely and helpful. Menu was very good and I’m coeliac was able to order too. Food and drinks all reasonably priced and lovely. Breakfast was nice too. Will definitely be back later in the year. Would loved to have explored the cellar ( we’re into the paranormal and got Some good footage in the room) maybe I should have asked! Either way highly recommend
