Guest House is located above the pub and conveniently located via public transit, tube, overground, and city buses. 40 minutes from LHR. Historic location with attention to details. French croissants directly from France(Baked in house) for breakfast. Amazing staff and Guest House Manager runs an immaculate establishment. Amazing comfortable rooms with elegance. ****Note when booking: There are no parking at the premises, but there might be street parking available couple of blocks away. Do your research if you are planning on driving. There are no elevators since this premise was built in the 1800s. But it's a history lesson to be a part of. Well worth the money! This is our second time staying in this guest house! Amazing place!!

Very nice cozy pub with a large selection of drinks, Indian food and friendly staff. The rooms are small, but very nicely decorated and extremely clean! The breakfast is fresh and sufficient, we were just missing something warm like eggs or sausages. The location is on a large street, but you don't notice it at night. However, there are almost only Arabic/Indian/Italian restaurants and shops in the area, with little that is typically British. You can quickly get to the city center by subway. All in all, we felt in good hands and found everything we needed. :)

Newly remodeled, good curated selection of beers and spirits, good food and good service. Their Sunday roast was spot on.

A really warm and helpful welcome by guest house managers and pub staff. The room (twin) was spacious and elegantly furnished, with all mod cons including good quality coffee. Breakfast was generous. The building is 200+ years old, Grade 2 listed (historic protected) and really fine, both inside and out. Neighbourhood has many interesting small restaurants. Wishing the new owners every success.

I was looking forward to staying here until I read some of the reviews from other people, however, I was pleasantly surprised. We were welcomed by a very cheerful young man who showed us to a comfortable room on the top floor, this was the downside, the stairs, particularly from the 1st to the 2nd, were steep. The room wasn’t huge but it was big enough, the bathroom only had a shower but that’s all I want and it was a good one. Lovely towels and toiletries. I was worried that it might be noisy at night but it was quiet. The room was a little warm. Breakfast the next morning was help your self with croissants, toast etc. boiled eggs would have been nice but everything was fresh. It’s not far to walk from the tube station.

The pub is lovely very welcoming. If I could make one suggestion maybe eggs in the morning. As everything else was lovely. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Ein schönes Haus mit einem schönen Pub im Erdgeschoss. Das Zimmer war geräumig und das Bad zwar etwas kleiner, aber alles sehr geschmackvoll, eher traditionell eingerichtet und gestaltet. Jeden Tag wurden Tee und Kaffee aufgefüllt und im Flur stand ein Kühlschrank mit frei verfügbarem Wasser. Das Bett hatte eine gute Matratze und zwar nur eine Bettdecke, aber die war ausreichend groß. Die Lage ist vielleicht nicht gerade 1a, aber in Ordnung. Mit der Jubilee Line ist man schnell an der Baker Street oder auch in Westminster. Ausserdem fahren auch zahlreiche Busse und eine Linie führt sogar durch die Abbey Road und über DEN Zebrastreifen. Das Sightseeing startet also quasi vor der Haustür. Das Frühstück war einfach, aber dennoch lecker. Und das gesamte Personal ist sehr, sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt!

Love the black lion. Fantastic staff and awesome vibes. It’s not everyday that you’re taken back to a pub covered in artistry, woodmultiple fireplaces, and comfy seats. You feel like you’re in someone’s cozy living room and the staff are amazing.

Un hôtel (bâtiment classé) avec 11 chambres dans la pure tradition des pubs, typique, très British et disposant de chambres très très spacieuses (rare sur Londres), très bien aménagées. L’accueil est chaleureux, et porte bien la mention de Guesthouse (maison d’invités). Le personnel est à l’écoute et disponible. À la fois décontracté et soucieux de vous apporter toutes les réponses. Le petit déjeuner est bon, copieux, varié avec de très bonnes viennoiseries. Une très bonne adresse !

We had a very pleasant stay at the Black Lion.

I booked a couple of rooms here as we were in London for my daughters 21st birthday, and we wanted to treat her to a nice weekend. This place looked good in the photos and the reviews that I had read gave me a good feeling. I can confirm that the photos and the reviews are spot on, this place is a real gem. It is situated on a main road in Kilburn just a 8-10 minute walk from the tube station which gets you into the city centre in 20 minutes, don't be put off with it being on a main road though, none of us heard any traffic or noise at all in the bedrooms. To the bedrooms, these were very comfortable, had everything you needed and were very tastefully decorated. The pub downstairs had a beer garden which I can imagine in the summer is lovely to sit in, we had some drinks in the bar with its high ceilings and it was a nice chilled out atmosphere. Breakfast the next morning was nice, a continental selection which was enough to fuel us for the day. Now to the staff, I emailed them prior to our visit to ask them if they could arrange for some flowers and chocolates for Kaitlin's room, I gave them a budget and they sorted this out for us with a happy birthday banner as well, a lovely touch which our daughter was chuffed to bits with. I had also asked them if we could leave our luggage with them on the day of arrival as we were arriving earlier than the check in time, however they had got our rooms ready so were shown to them straight away. They let us leave our luggage with them whilst we went back into the city on the day we checked out, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service, lovely rooms, great staff, comfortable, quiet, an absolute gem that we will hopefully use again at some point in the future!

We ate at 11 and everything was delicious! 10/10 for the food but also for the attentive and adorable staff!!

We had a great stay at this pub and what a beautiful pub it is! A proper boozer as they say. The room was clean and comfortable with lovely decor. The continental breakfast was great too, with lots of choice. It's about half an hour on the Tube or by Uber from the city centre but the price reflects that. Definitely recommend this pub as a place to stay in London.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. The beds are comfy, room was great. Very warm which is appreciated. The staff were lovely. The only thing was the room I booked was at the front and therefore you could hear the main road all night. Cars are blasting music and revving engines. This meant I got very little sleep. HOWEVER, that's not the hotels fault and just means if I booked again I'd make sure I was in a room at the back.

Great weekend stay. Room was very comfortable with Rituals toiletries. Breakfast was continental style but enough to start your day (sourdough bread was really lovely). The pub was busy in the evening and had a good vibe and friendly staff. Good location - only a 5 minute walk from tube station. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby

The Black Lion pub, opposite the Kiln theatre, is a real hidden gem. Historically interesting, restored to the highest standard with impeccable service and absolutely delicious food. Cannot recommend it enough!

We loved our stay here! From the moment we walked in to this gorgeous building it was clear that everyone who worked at the Black Lion was going to ensure we had a fantastic stay. We had a king room and it was stunning. It felt so luxurious and was very quiet despite there being a pub downstairs. We very much enjoyed the included breakfast and appreciated the kind service from everyone we encountered here. They all went out of their way to help us out and we are very thankful. The location was great as we had friends living nearby, but it was also very easy to get into the city or other attractions by bus, Underground or Uber. We truly couldn't recommend the Black Lion enough. You simply must experience it for yourself!

The pub is based in the centre of Kilburn and close to the tube. Sunday roast dinners are delicious. I highly recommend their chicken roast dinner which is plentiful and good value for money.

The interior details, service, food, and environment was perfect for this hotel! The accommodations were spacious, welcoming, and beautifully prepared. The staff Were very kind, and went above and beyond more than once. They surprised me by decorating my room when I was out on my birthday. They even came and killed the spider one day that I noticed wandering the wall! They offered to carry bags, and made sure everything was clean into our liking. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and the fireplace, warm food, and wonderful service were over the top! The only downfall is the location it is in. About a 3 minute walk to the underground, not bad - but the businesses between the hotel and tube were very unclean, unkempt, so abandoned, and a little less presentable. it wasn’t ideal for comfortably walking around at night outside. But once you were at the pub and boutique, everything changed!

We stayed in the hotel for a total of 3 days. The rooms were quite small, but completely sufficient for the time frame. Everything clean and tidy, modern bathroom. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were always greeted warmly and made sure that we didn't miss anything. The breakfast, which was included in the price of the room, was manageable but still tasty and enough to fortify you for the day. There is a minus point for the surroundings. I didn't expect to be in such a "run down" neighborhood. I didn't want to walk there alone in the evening. Luckily, the bus station in front of the hotel and the subway were only a 10-minute walk away, so we never had to (and didn't want to) be there for long. Conclusion: Very nice staff, good connections, clean rooms. Price performance really top. Recommended for a short trip!

Initially went for a drink & then decided to eat there, so glad we did, beautiful building & interior, selection of small plates on menu, everything we ordered was fantastic, would highly recommend, we had ribs, butter chicken curry & a few other options, all were delicious

We ended our month long trip in Europe with 4 day at the Black Lion Pub. The pub itself is a beautifully restored the pics don't lie and the vibe was very family orientated and with 3 fireplaces very cozy The room we had was the best we stayed in the whole trip. Spacious, quiet and the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in ever. Rooms are brand new and the shower with a rain faucet and a hand held was great. Zero pub noise, street is noisy but shut windows ,silence. We ate the Sunday roast which was very good but the place makes bomb Indian food, did that twice.Huge beer selection and they make a great Gin and Tonic. The area is a working class neighborhood, Im sure perfectly safe but it"s not Knotting hill. We Ubered to all the sites no problem. The staff was top notch as no request was denied. We will definitely be coming back someday when we return to London. Highly recommend!

Me and 3 friends stayed here for 1 night for the Taylor Swift concert on 15th August, and we would 100% stay here again. The pub and rooms are so beautiful, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Check in was for 3pm but we were advised we could drop our bags off earlier if needed, so we headed there at around 12pm expecting to just drop our bags off. One of our two rooms was already ready for us, so we were shown to our room by a really lovely man who gave us all the info we needed and left us to sort our things out in our room. We then left to go to lunch, and after having explained that it was one of our birthdays, we returned to the room to find a happy birthday card and some flowers!! It was so thoughtful and a really lovely touch. The rooms are so beautiful, we had a Dyson fan in the room and everything was super clean and fresh. The bathroom was really nice too and had a waterfall shower with separate shower head. It was easy to get in and out with our key cards so had no issue getting back after the concert. The train station is a 5 min walk away and took us 10 mins on the tube to get to Wembley so perfect location. We slept really well and breakfast was also really good, everything was really fresh and they have a great selection. They also have a fridge in the hallway which stocks free bottles of water which we thought was great. All in all we went away so pleased with our stay and all said we would definitely stay again. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and we will definitely be back again! :)

Myself and my partner stayed here for a weekend in August 2024 and it is a beautiful place to stay, the Black Lion rooms were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff there, we had a warm welcome from the start and we were taken to our room personally which you do not see much anymore, they usually just had you a key card, this was a nice touch. We had to leave promptly on the Sunday morning and the staff insisted we take some breakfast and bagged this for us. Such a friendly place to stay, will definitely stay there again 100%

Like the pub, haven't stayed as local but would recommend to friends to stay. Really interesting and exciting venue, restaurant and bar menu offering some wonderful tapas with an Indian twist. Good selection of drinks, beautifully restored and worth visiting and supporting - a fantastic addition to Brondesbury opposite The Kiln .. so great for pre and after theatre too! Go.

Absolutely lovely stay all round. Beatiful pub and accommodation recently renovated and award winning, kind and helpful staff, lovely food. We stayed here for a wembley concert, so easy to get there. There are 3 stations within easy reach, tube, overground and national rail. Highly recommend. Only improvement for me would be offering brown or wholemeal bread at breakfast. Thanks.

Just had a fantastic meal of chicken curry, crispy cauliflower, lamb sheesh and grilled aubergine. All delicious in great surroundings, good beer on tap. And most importantly super friendly staff!

I booked this with Tesco Clubcard vouchers, and I'm so glad I did. What a find! Firstly, less than a 15 minute walk from 2 tube stations ( different lines) and an Overground station, so really easy access. Then, the building is stunning, from both outside and in. Our room was large, superbly clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast in the morning exceeded expectations - a continental breakfast with a good range of options. The staff were lovely - I can't say enough nice things about the place!

Pricey, but the interior is gorgeous

Booked this for my a parents as i live nearby. So on behalf of them they found the rooms luxurious. They stayed in the King Room. They also had nice details like free water in the hallway for all guests to share, which was great on hot days. Breakfast was superb and the staff were welcoming each morning. It also has a chilled and pleasant vibe with a great beer selection. The pub is well placed and has great travel options via underground and overground. Only 14mins into central London via underground link nearby.

The Black Lion receives superlative reviews and to be honest I was a bit skeptical. However we found it to be all we hoped. Big, airy and beautifully decorated rooms, the cleanest accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. The whole place is beautiful and well maintained, with all the facilities you could want. Staff are kind and helpful. Breakfast was a good continental choice, including breads, cereal, fruit and yogurt. The location is a busy, cosmopolitan main road with many shops and food outlets; it’s therefore not a quiet neighbourhood, but there is a pleasant and well-kept park adjacent. Easy access for bus and train/tube into the city. Really very good indeed and I’d like to visit again.

What a place! Eclectic and distinguished from anything I’ve ever been to. Personable, delicious, full of ‘oohs ‘ and ‘aaaahs’ . From first mouthful to last en experience over in a lifetime.

The hotel is just great! It's beautifully decorated and the pub attached to the hotel looks fantastic too. Everything is very clean and great attention is paid to hygiene, for example at breakfast. Our room had a Dyson air conditioner, which was worth its weight in gold for the warm days. We booked the smallest room, which was big enough for us. There was enough space to lay our suitcases open and still be able to move around freely. There was free water that you could take to your room at any time. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. The Indian food in the pub was so delicious that we tried the menu there every evening instead of eating elsewhere. The only negative point that the hotel can't help with is the location. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way, but that wasn't a problem for us as it has great connections to the bus/subway/overground. The bus stop for the center is right in front of the front door. However, we didn't feel quite as safe in this area. But supermarkets, restaurants etc. are also within walking distance, so all in all it's okay. We were really very enthusiastic and satisfied with the hotel and can definitely recommend it.

My wife and I stayed four nights at the Black Lion. The room, recently renovated, was great; the included breakfast was very good; and I can't say enough about the staff--very friendly and helpfu.

What a find!!!! This place is gorgeous, great, friendly staff and such a fab bar with an amazing selection of Belgian beers, real ales and keg beer. We stayed the night and our room was beautiful, immaculately clean and the free bottled water in the fridge outside was a nice touch. We booked a table in the restaurant and was not disappointed the food was full of flavours with some great, unusual combos. We finished the evening off with a couple of espresso martinis which were top notch. We wished that we had stayed her on our 1st night in London as we were at the AC/DC gig at Wembley and this would of been better located with the transport links. We will definitely return we couldn't fault anything

We ate at the pub - we ordered all their Sunday roast except the vegetarian option. The chicken was a little dry but the rest were not bad!

Location is on the main road so a little noisy but expected in London. Easy to find and short 10 minute walk to the tube or overground. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Direct line into central London and a straight walk from the tube. Alternatively there’s a bus station right outside which was kindly recommended to us. We adored our room and the bathroom, it was incredibly clean and wonderfully furnished. The breakfast was simple and a pleasant experience. I’m sure we’ll be back!

We stayed here because we wanted to be in the area, but how lucky we were to find this accommodation, it was very comfortable. The pub downstairs is beautiful, the room was very good, and there is a fridge with free bottles of water for customers. They treated us great, and breakfast is in the bar's dining room, which couldn't be more beautiful! I totally recommend for young couples. (There is no elevator to the rooms and the stairs are somewhat steep)

Great location and very good area. 20 minutes by bus from Marble Arch. Bus leaves right in front of the front door. Subway and tram are 10 minutes walk. You live in a very nice house in really great rooms. The bathroom is even equipped with Rituals soap, shampoo and shower gel. Water is available for free in a refrigerator. The staff is very accommodating and nice. Everything was great. Yes, the rooms are a bit narrow and small but completely sufficient for sleeping. The hotel is right on the street, there is traffic noise at night, but it didn't bother you. The breakfast buffet is small but nice, and it was enough. Eggs and some vegetables would have made it perfect ;) at that price, you can really extend the breakfast a bit.

I honestly cant fault this hotel at all. It is an absolutely stunning grade 2 listed building. Usually in older buildings despite best efforts old walls and fixtures begin to look worn but the rooms are honestly immaculate, nice and crips walls and tiles and so so clean. Downstairs the pub and restaurant is beautifully decorated but most of all the service has been second to none. Any special requests we’ve had have been dealt. Ive not had to wait to be seen even once. Everyone is polite and even the smallest details of service such as acknowledging us and saying hello if we walk through, carrying our cases, turning the teapot handle to me to use. We are celebrating a birthday so had a gorgeous note left in the room with fresh flowers. The soaps in the room are all rituals which is lovely. Bedding is fresh, crisp and white. No lose flitting or irritating little details. We still have another night but so far we are so impressed and can tell so much thought and effort has gone into everything. The area outside isnt amazing but is very easy for us to get quickly to anywhere we want to see in london with the tube being a 7 minuite walk away.

Nice hotel in a multicultural neighborhood. The hotel room was very clean and tidy. Handy USB connections so we didn't need travel plugs. Downstairs a nice pub, eatery. Very friendly staff. Because our room was already ready, we were allowed in at 11am. Breakfast consisted of croissants, bread to toast, cereals, fresh fruit, juice, ham/cheese, butter and sweet toppings. Everything neat and fresh. Had a wonderful stay.

We stayed 1 week, really enjoyable, all was clean, staff was so generous and nice. As we are french, I love eating ! Morning breakfast was delicious and delightful, no problem to find the hotel, it is beautifule, decoration was naturally as it is, soo it is a good rethinking about this time : we let in us a good place in our mind, we will be back - Florian & Estelle

We have stayed at the Black Lion twice and both times were excellent. Our room was large and well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have eaten at the restaurant. The included breakfast was very nice and we had dinner at the restaurant which was also excellent. We also spent time in the pub which was also nice. The interior is beautifully restored. Although the pub does not open until 4pm, there was a member of staff available to get us checked in much earlier. If you are looking for a tourist experience, this isn't it. On the other hand, if you want a very nice place with a London neighborhood experience, this fits the bill nicely. There is a nice neighborhood park behind the Black Lion which is nice for strolls and the Kilburn tube station is only a 10 minute walk away. Highly recommended. We will be returning.

A heritage pub with a beautiful interior on the Kilburn High Road, right by the Grange park. There is a small outdoor seating area at the side. It was refurbished extensively a couple of years ago, unfortunately I've only managed one visit since then.

Prices for drinks are great and the interior is beautiful. The guy with the forearm tattoos was really cool, had a funny talk with him and my dad. It’s a massive space with many seats. Will be coming here more often!

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Great accommodation and friendly and helpful staff. Well laid out breakfast. Did not have dinner at the hotel. Stayed on the top floor and could not hear the noise from the pub so don't be concerned by this.

Ideale plek om London te verkennen, vijf minuten wandelen van metrostation Killburn. Het is niet meteen een aangename buurt maar ideaal als uitvalsbasis. Personeel van de The Black Lion is supervriendelijk en de kamers kraaknet. De pub zelfs is een pareltje. Het ontbijt is heel beperkt en dagelijks hetzelfde. Maar dat doet niets af van de eindbeoordeling: The Black Lion biedt waar voor zijn geld.

Wow what a little gem. Beautiful decor, very clean, cold bottles of water, breakfast was continental but quality food and very good bread and quality butter, just luxury, loved the black lion pub would definitely go back

We arrived early and were able to check in because our room was ready. Had a delicious light snack in the pub before heading into central London. The room was huge and recently well renovated and decorated. Lots of light yet cosy and warm. The buffet breakfast was tasty and varied, and service was excellent. The pub and restaurant areas were beautiful with original features, skylights and wooden panelling. The staff were all very friendly, professional and accommodating. Just down the road is the 98 bus stop to Oxford Street which was far more interesting than using the Tube.

Kilburn, slightly further out of the city than we would normally stay but absolutely no hassle on the tube to get there!! The pub itself is really impressive, well dressed surroundings and high quality produce, my partner and I even decided to stay a little longer on the Sunday and indulge in an absolutely delicious, well priced, Sunday dinner! We stayed in the grand suite and it really was grand. Double sinks, a huge shower, a stunning roll top bath, a huge king size bed with lovely quality linen. Each room had its own fireplace and mantle with well chosen artefacts and and a great finish. Wall lights, furniture all great quality. A smashing stay, no noise from the toad, or the pub. The stay included a continental breakfast which I wasn’t expecting to be as splendid as it was. Plenty of choice, super fresh produce. A great start to the day! Wished we were staying longer!!! It wasn’t cheap but it was worth the money. Super stay. Loved it. Ps. The staff were delightful too, couldn’t do enough for us xx

Highly recommended. We received an extremely warm welcome and were very happy with our room. We have had a drink in this pub many times, as our son lives nearby, it is one of my favourite pubs around (and I’ve been to a few!). The exterior of the building is incredible and this is matched by the interior and the friendly staff. It’s the type of place where, when you order a Guinness, you are invited to take a seat and the bar staff bring the drink to you once it’s been given time to be poured properly and settle. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed, it is certainly more high end than many of the other hotels we have stayed in around London at a similar price point. The bed was perfect for us, but that’s a matter of taste. We needed to have a quick get away early the next morning. This was communicated with the morning staff and breakfast was ready and waiting, which was really appreciated. The continental breakfast was good quality and plentiful. Overground and underground transport is plentiful and nearby, with easy access into central London and only a couple of stops from Wembley - ideal! Let’s be honest, Kilburn may not be the first place that people will think of staying when visiting London, but this place is a gem!

It was the cleanest place I have ever stayed in! The staff are amazing too, very accommodating and friendly. Plus free refrigerated water in the Inn!
