What a great find. Plenty of regular customers which tells you how good it is! Food and choice of food was excellent. We had breakfast there. I had the 49 Cafe breakfast which was delicious but also sandwiches/rolls/wraps/pasta dishes all looked fresh and wonderful. Owners were very welcoming and if there isn’t enough room to sit- it’s very popular- then they’ll open their place next door for additional seating. We’re only sorry that we were there for just one night so didn’t get the opportunity to visit again. Highly recommended.

Their chicken sandwich (#1) is life-changing. Service is fast, lovely people! There is a huge line at lunch, but don't let that deter you -- they move through it so quickly.

This bustling little Italian cafe offers simple but delicious food, huge portion, welcoming service. Chicken Arrabbiata is warm, spicy, garlicky, full of flavors, with good amount of grilled chicken. The sauce is dangerous my tasty; I almost finished the pasta. The cold rainy winter day can’t hurt me anymore. Rustic home cooking but much appreciated. The sandwiches also look amazing— especially the bread generously studded with olive slices! Looking forward to trying them. There’s always a lot of people coming in, so it can be quite stressful to make decisions at the counter (I failed to order salad today (´･ω･`)).

Great pasta for lunches. Small seating area so personally use it more for takeaway! Portions are really big and often makes 2 meals so really good value for money!

Mocha was good. breakfast consisted of toast with mascarpone, eggs, cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar. It was delicious.

Very small long counter place. Had full English breakfast for $8.95. Couldn’t eat it all. Served very quickly and hot. Only complaint was that the beans weren’t hot.

The most amazing cafe, the staff are so warm and friendly which is so refreshing in London, portions were huge, great value for money and a varied menu for such a small venue but the thing that stood out most was that all the ingredients tasted fresh and great quality which is so hard to find in most bakeries, even ones that charge double the price!! My Bagel was fantastic but the Pasta looked incredible too, and I loved that you could make your own salads. Everything on the menu looked great, couldn't believe the value for how good the quality was, I'd recommend this place to everyone and its conveniently located round the corner from russel Square station.

Staff was lovely, but the food and coffee was very average. The outside serving tables are on the sidewalk of the opposite side of the street. We ordered the champion breakfast, but felt more like a runner’s up.

Amazing small cafe with warm sandwiches and pasta. The sandwiches are great, with amazing flavors and great combinations. Their chicken sandwich and tricolore are superb. Food is also quite cheap. The place will have a line for takeaway, but is quite quick.

My husband and I LOVED this place. Ate breakfast there two mornings (both mornings we were in London). Highly recommend. Excellent food, good service, reasonable prices. Wish we had it here by our house in Tacoma.

Got the full English here on the account of the numerous positive reviews and was a bit disappointed. First, I think everything is decent and perhaps averagely done. Second, any reviews stating that the meal is value for money is probably very old and given the myriad options available in London, I would have found another place that probably included black pudding as well.

Bagel with bacon and cheese? Y-U-M! Admittedly I haven’t eaten many bagels in my life, but the ratio toppings and bread was just perfect. Didn’t try anything else.

Food was delicious, staff friendly, portions huge. With my two kids, we shared a full English breakfast and a bagel, and couldn't finish them, however we liked is a lot. Cost - effective.

Excellent breakfast as can only be expected in an Italian neighbourhood cafe. Fresh and crunchy salads, free range eggs,decent portions, quick service from the kitchen to the bench. We will come back fro more.

Very nice little cafe near Russel Square with lots of options, both for breakfast and lunch. Food was delicious with fresh ingredients. The only downside was that a member of the staff was using a smartphone whilst serving me, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, 5 stars easily!

I started coming here during the pandemic and honestly it's the best lunch you can ask for. Incredibly delicious and the portions are great. Also if you want a good coffee to start your day, it's the best on the street.

The full english breakfast and parma are amazing! The price is reasonable. A rarity in central London. The cafe staffs are friendly too! Totally recommend, a hidden gem in London. 10/10 would return when I visit the city again 😋

Looked at Google and TripAdvisor for hints of best breakfast near my hotel and 49 came up. I was greeted by a lovely welcome, the food is amazing and breakfast was really good value with top quality ingredients. The Cafe only has a limited few seating places and that started to become a problem as it got busier today. But absolutely fantastic and an independent business to be supported.

Had a sausage in a roll which was cold No tables now just a breakfast bar with stools. Not very comfortable. I didn't return.

I had breakfast here this morning and it was great. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable for central London. My wife said the scrambled egg was excellent.

Very friendly and welcoming staff towards locals/tourists. Generous serving size of breakfast and at a reasonable price. Only downside is that it have few seats and its almost always crowded! Definitely recommended still if you are in the area.

The staff are really helpful with ordering and making sure you receive your food The prices are super what you're getting and with so many things to try, fr bagels to different types pasta/sauces Please check out the photos for the store like decor and the seating area that outlines around the shop The only gripe is that during the colder months it can be a little cold to sit down and eat as the door is always open due to diners entering and exiting Delish!

Während unseres Trips in London kamen wir jeden morgen hierher. Fast alles probiert und alles für mega lecker befunden. Tolles Cafe, wenns super lecker sein und schnell gehen soll!
