LOCKES in Camden

Had a fantastic 30th birthday party at Lockes. Would definitely recommend having a celebration here. Food and cocktails were great. Thank you to Marco, Steve and the team behind the bar that evening were great ❤️

Nice enough place with good cocktails and not too rammed even on a Friday night, which was nice. But it's extremely cheeky of the staff to add a tip to each order at the bar when we did not have table service! A tip should always be discretionary so it's something guests should be able to say 'yes' or 'no' to on the card machine. Unfortunately I noticed only some days later on my bank statement when each drink had a very odd number attached to it. A quick calculation showed that I've been charged about 12.5% more than the price on the menu. And the thing is, I'd have happily tipped! But not like this. This seems sneaky and makes me feel a bit salty.

This is a nice place with good music and pics. But what stood out is the cocktails menu, especially passion fruit Margherita - an inspired variant of the original.

A great night hosted by Lockes for our works party. Lovely room downstairs which had a great atmosphere. Food, drink and music great and the service provided (thank you Marco, Kai and Ajoy!) was fantastic. Would highly recommend this venue for a private party.

The ultimate destination for cocktails and pizza in Covent Garden! Their pizzas are irresistibly delicious, and the warm, cosy lighting sets the perfect mood. It's my top choice for an unforgettable night out with friends!

Proper grown up cocktail bar with excellent food and service. The negronis were spot on and the food was perfectly proportioned, delicious and great value for money. Music was on point for the crowd in there and not so loud that we couldn’t hear each other speak.

Blue Fizz was warm and not fizzy enough; Faith changed for us. The pizza he recommended was fantastic and yummy.

Cocktails were good, but we had an awful experience with our waiter. My friend asked for a recommendation for a sweet drink. Her drink was bitter. Since this is not what she was looking for, she nicely asked the waiter if he could swap the drink for another drink. He said that was not possible (unheard of in bars, if you dislike your drink and the glass is still full, I never saw a waiter/barman say no. Especially if it was recommended to you). After a bit of back and forth, he accepted to order a new drink and to have a chat with his manager to see if they would charge us the new drink or if they could simply swap them. He then "ordered" the new drink on his tablet. About 15-20min goes on and we all finish our drinks without the waiter coming back with a new drink. The manager spots my friend and sees that she seems unhappy so he comes to the table. We learned that the waiter never went to the manager and never ordered the new drink. The manager comes back a few minutes later with the drink. At the end, when my other friend raised her hand to grab the waiter's attention, smiled at him and asked for the bill, he rolled his eyes at her! He then comes to the table, and pushes the bill towards us, turns to my friend who disliked his recommendation and says "Are you happy now ?" with a rude tone. Completely unprofessional! We should have asked the service charge to be removed, but at this point we just wanted to get out as quickly as possible. The drinks were good, the ambiance was nice, but the owner should have a talk with their staff. That kind of behaviour is unacceptable. We will not come back

My cocktail was the absolute best, Pizza was hot and lovely

I visited the venue for a 30th birthday party in the basement function room. It was spacious, with enough standing room and seating for those with tired feet. Staff were experienced mixologists and the manager Will was incredibly helpful. They readily supplied plates & cutlery for the birthday cake. A super nice touch was the two bespoke cocktails designed for and named after the birthday person. They were delicious! The whole evening was handled really professionally.

I planned my partner’s surprise party at Lockes and it was the best decision ever. The place was very sleek and it was absolutely buzzing with energy, also everyone appreciated the heated outside space as well. The food was super tasty, some of the best pizza we had in London. The cocktails were so well done, and the service offered at bar was spectacular. But above all, Marco and his staff were simply incredible, helpful and very communicative both during the organisation of the party and during the night. Special shoutout to Will, who was just lovely, helpful and pleasant without fail. Thanks for a special night we won’t forget!

We hosted an event at Lockes two weeks ago and it was absolutely brilliant. Service - on point, attentive and seamless. Food - perfect pizzas and cheese board for our chatty party. Drinks also well mixed and friendly whilst mixing. Actually wish we could have extended the entire evening. Couldn’t have been better and I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you!

I held my 40th birthday party at Lockes on a Friday night and we had booked out the basement. I worked with Marco to build a package that works for me that gave me food and drinks coupons for my guests around 35ppl. The cocktails were delicious and so was the food. The service was great and overall I had the best night!

This bar is a gem! The Hugo Spritz is incredible. Even better, they’re included in the 241 deal. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is great! I’ll be back again. Thank you team!!

We held a private event at Locke's this week, and oh my days it was amazing. A wonderful experience from first contact to farewell, I cannot recommend Locke's enough for hosting a private event. Communication was excellent throughout, the venue itself is beautifully elegant, spacious without feeling cavernous, and has a lovely outdoor space in the heart of Covent Garden. The team serving were excellent - bartending amazing, presentation of food and drinks fantastic, even made up takeaway boxes so guests could leave with leftovers. We had an epic evening, all thanks to Lockes!

This place is really one of the best bars in London. Amongst the lifeless, tacky chain bars which have plagued this city, Lockes stands alone as one of the few which maintains class and vibrant atmosphere. Massive shout out to Will, who always provides exceptional service.

Stopped on a whim as I had some time to kill. The staff were very kind, the seating outside was in a nice suntrap, it was a lovely spot to sit with a few glasses of wine and my book. Surprisingly chilled atmosphere given the central London location, I'd pop by again if in the area.

I had the best time. Thank you so much to the manager Marco for hosting me last minute for my birthday/leaving party. My friends enjoyed it all the waiters were grand.

Without a doubt the best cocktails in London we have ever experienced. The team from B@1 have taken their proven skills in quality cocktail making to Lockes and it does not disappoint. The quality of the ingredients make the difference, but the blend of what they offer is pretty special too. The Palomita is the best cocktail I have ever had! Great value too.

Booked the downstairs bar for my 30th birthday and it was incredible. The venue, the bartenders, the drinks, the pizzas were all 10/10 and everyone kept telling me it was a great party. I 100% recommend and they were so brilliant at helping with the setup and order of the night I wanted!

I hired the downstairs room for my wife's surprise birthday party. Fantastic staff. Great food. Very good value for money. Top location. Good music. Well presented, modern room with an appropriate level of sitting. My wife said it was the best birthday party she has ever had.

We had a great time in here for our post Pride Parade celebration. There were around 65 of us. Will the manager was fantastic and made us all feel really welcome and well looked after. His communication with me as the event manager was excellent. The pizzas were fantastic. Everyone enjoyed all the food. It's in a great location with big outdoors area (though the smell was pretty gross at times but it's not their fault it's the stinky sewers and it didn't stop us sitting out there). Loads of seating, great cocktail list. An all round excellent experience. Thanks. Hope to see you next year.

Nice environment (a bit too on the loud side for me, but I know I am probably a grumpy outlier) with very nice, quick and kind service, rather good food (see picture!). For some reason they could not provide hot water/infusions of any sort, which was a bit odd, but otherwise they seem well supplied and you will hardly want for more, unless you look for some more esoteric labels.

Great place in cute area! Drinks more on expensive side. Also nice for work related events as you can rent parts of the bar.

I held my sisters hen party here and Steve, right from the first point of contact, was nothing but accommodating. He made us feel so comfortable personalizing the bar and couldn’t do enough for us. He was super attentive and friendly and was very understanding of us girls being quite loud! Thank you Lockes for making our Hen do so brilliant and memorable. We will definitely return and would recommend this place for any occasion ☺️

Booked some window seats for group drinks and the experience was great. The pre- and post-event communication was prompt, the staff very attentive and friendly. The location is central and easy to get to for everyone. Lovely drinks as well, would come back!

I discovered Lockes after getting caught up in a downpour and taking cover in their front door area. Was planning on going for a drink anyway and when Steve invited us in my girlfriend and I thought why not. And glad we did! What a cracking bar Steve and Marco have! Steve offered proper old school, quality customer service and made us feel very welcome and almost like we were regulars even though it was the first time we'd been. Had a couple of the spritz specials and decided to stay for another and have a pizza too. The pizza was absolutely superb. Everything was priced fairly and given the proximity to Covent Garden I think it was all really good value. Overall, I think the other reviews have got this one right. It's just a really good bar, with great attentive staff and I will absolutely be back again! Cheers Steve! Great to meet you and we'll see you again!

The staff at Lockes was absolutely fantastic, really friendly, approachable and accommodating. From the first moment I approached them with my query (surprise birthday party lunch celebration with ~15 guests), Steve and Marco got in touch and helped me every step of the way. On the day of the celebration the staff was amazing, they even made an extra pizza free of charge for one of the guests just because they liked a different flavour! Absolutely five stars, you cannot go wrong with Lockes, would definitely recommend!

I booked Lockes for my 30th and it was the perfect location, we had around 40 people and the bar all Saturday evening. The service was wonderful, food was particularly good and great drinks!

We come for a 60th birthday party for my best friend and had the best night with great service from the manager Will and the bartender Mattia. We also had 3 pizza which were incredible and will most definitely be coming back!

The gentleman serving us was really attentive and created a surprise cocktail when I requested. The place has gorgeous outside seating and a great selections of drinks. Highly recommend :)

Have been here a few times already, but booked for a table of 10 for my birthday a few weeks ago and I’m so glad this was the bar I picked. Was looking for a bar that wasn’t rowdy and dancey, and Lockes was perfect, it has a chilled atmosphere, so you can sit and chat with people at a comfortable volume. I had requested that we had one big table instead of being split into two (as I often find smaller London bars are too narrow to accommodate big groups) and they were able to provide. They offered table service all night, and the cocktail menu is quite long and varied - they have all the classics as well as unique ones.

I celebrated my birthday on a Friday evening. Everything about Lockes was amazing! The pizzas were delicious (Diavola, Burrata, and Cotto and Funghi). The drinks and cocktails were really tasty and reasonably priced! It was quite busy when we got there but we were sat downstairs and the atmosphere was great with really good music! The best part of the night were the staff. Special shoutout to Laura, Will and Thomas for being amazing and super kind to me the entire night! I can’t recommend this place enough. Delicious food and cocktails and 5 star service from the excellent and friendly staff. I had my birthday here recently with around 60 people. We were all treated like celebrities!! Thank you to everyone for making it such a special occasion.

We booked part of the bar for our birthday party- it was great. The booking was easy and communication was great. We ordered pizzas prior and we were able to arrange a time for them to come out- all arranged before so no stress on the night. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pizzas were tasty and the cocktails were great. There was a good buzz in the atmosphere and several parties were celebrating! All of my friends enjoyed it- I would recommend this place for an event!

Hosted our work social here as leaving drinks for 2 staff. Had exclusive hie of the downstairs cocktail bar for 60 people. Staff were great and so was the venue and food!

We celebrated my partner's 30th birthday over the weekend and I couldn't give any higher praise to Lockes. I've never booked an event like this so was slightly nervous but Marco was fantastic and communicated everything perfectly via email and gave me an excellent overview of the space when I visited. On the night itself our bartender, Visnu, was outstanding. His attention to detail, professionalism, friendliness, drinks recommendations and mixing were 10/10. I also spoke to Will on the door and to close up the event and he was equally as fantastic. We booked the Firenze party package and the amount of drinks and food was perfect for our party size (around 30) but would easily have stretched to a few others. The food was all delicious and the alcohol provided was of a great standard. Every single person complemented me on the venue and my partner in particular loved every minute. Thank you so much the the entire team, you really helped make the big day memorable and you'll be recommended to all our friends and family.
