Excelente domingo asado amable personal que grandes porciones recomendarían. Oferta especial para cerveza barata los lunes también. Este es mi pub habitual en la zona. 5 Estrellas.

A pesar de que el sitio web dice que el pub cierra a las 11 en varias ocasiones en enero y febrero nos rechazaron antes de las 10 . Una vez extremadamente grosero. Hay unos pocos de nosotros que solíamos venir a tomar algo después del coro e inicialmente nos dijo la casera que seríamos bienvenidos. Pero no ahora aparentemente. Vinimos un martes cuando el pub estaba lleno, pero la semana siguiente nos dijeron que siempre cerraban temprano y que estábamos equivocados que habíamos estado allí la semana anterior! Afortunadamente, ahora hemos encontrado un lugar en el que somos bienvenidos.

One of the most welcoming venues in Llandaff. Fun staff, decent drinks and excellent food. Highly recommend to everyone. Top pub in my eyes. The new menu is a stoke of genius. With the food and how friendly the staff are, this venue is a pure winner and a must visit for anyone in the area.

Been here many times but pub is a joke. Wanted gin & lemonade but told no lemonade - how can a pub not have a basic like lemonade so queried what if I wanted a shandy - reply was o I can do a shandy as have bottled lemonade but not allowed to use for anything else - stupidest answer ever ! Then went to order food 30 mins before last food orders were taken and was told no more food orders even though we checked before arriving at pub. There was 6 of us with a round costing £34 and would have food if allowed then swiftly departed. Will not return to this joke of a pub. Shocking !!! Hahaha - what a crazy response from you - 1 - it was 31 mins before food orders closed when we attempted to order food 2 - 11 of us were in your pub in November and you had lemonade then 3 - your staff member was not verbally attacked up to her face. 3 people were talking to her why lemonade could not be used in shorts. 4 - end of topic

Fuimos a tomar algo después de reunirnos con amigos. El martes pasado nos rechazaron groseramente a las 9. 50 diciendo que estaban cerrando. El pub estaba lleno, pero se negaban a más gente. La hora de cierre es 11 de acuerdo con su sitio web. ¡Estaban rechazando el negocio de 8 personas!

I just wanted to say how well the staff at the black lion deal with difficult customers. I was there on saturday, sat at the bar when i witnessed a group of people being argumentative and rude to the bar staff. All over lemonade on the pump not being available. There was an alternative offered however this was not good enough still. The young girl behind the bar did her best to accomodate the group but to no avail. They even decided to have a go at the member of bar staff after her shift ended as she was outside waiting for a taxi home! The bar was busy and even the chef had to come from the kitchen and jump on the bar and help out. I have recieved nothing but exceptional service on all my visits as have many others. I don't know many people who would remain calm and polite while being spoken to like they were. Well done guys. Keep doing what you are doing.

Friendly pub with amazing staff . management go above and beyond. Highly recommend this pub.

Popped in with the hubbie on a rare occasion with no children! Really glad we did. The food was served hot and in a good time considering there were several others guests. The staff were friendly and came to our table to check everything was OK with our food. We will definitely return again as the place is not far from us and was definitely worth going too. Thank you

Lovely little pub to meet friends We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Staff were more than helpful to explain any offers at the moment. 3 bottles of cider offer suited us perfectly. Will definitely return again when in the area

Came in for a couple of guinness shortly after opening time. Friendly, attentive barman. Clean pub. A little bit cold but I’m sure the heating was just kicking in.

Had drinks with the family, a lot of stuff had run out and the server was a bit slow but cheap booze

This place is a must visit for anyone who is in the area. Jen and the team do a fantastic job and the welcome is always brilliant. One of the best pints in Cardiff

Great honest local public house with good food at very reasonable prices and good selection of drinks also sold at reasonable fair prices. They do have some special offers on for food and a pint most days of the week around the lunch and early evening times well worth a visit one so you can come back again and again 😀

Long wait for food, staff always walking around like they don’t care. We were told to walk across the pub to get cutlery ourselves and drinks were served in small quantities when we requested large. I requested a Mac n’ Cheese and got an extremely small portion and it was freezing cold. Great atmosphere though, and amazing 17th century look in and out of the pub.

Very welcoming for family on a Sunday lunchtime, high chairs available. Best Yorkshire puddings I’ve seen in a long time! Staff were very kind, and service was quick. Pub was very clean.

We spent a lovely afternoon here. Delicious roast dinners, generous portions, hot and fresh vegetables. Really reasonable prices. Efficient and friendly service. Can’t wait to return.

Sadly quite quiet on a Thursday evening, but still a great place to catch up with mates. Lovely inside and seats outside.

Been here a few times both friends and on dates. Great food and not too expensive. Good pints at reasonable prices. The outside seating perfect for summer and inside cosy pub feeling is brilliant for the winter. Welcoming and chatty staff.

We recently had a cracking family meal here. Proper pub grub cooked really well. I had the fish, the batter was perfect and the portions were great. The cask ale is very well kept. The staff were very helpful and attentive, without being intrusive. Well done team.

Went for lunch and it was delicious, fish cooked perfect . Chicken stack was lovely too and they were lovely and hot The staff member who served us was very helpful and friendly definitely visit again .

Great value and tasty food. Despite a reduced menu currently as they're changing to a new one the food was great with good portions and very fresh.

Frequently pop to the Black Lion as it is one of many local pubs in the Llandaff area. Never had a bad pint and always clean and tidy. Many locals frequent here and pretty much everyone says hello at some point. Food is really good and you’ll find that most sport is shown.

Nice staff but pub could do with a makeover and like most pubs, healthier meal options. Has potential to be best pub in Llandaf. Beverley good example, nice makeover good atmos and also do happy hour £3 pints midweek enticing meal deals.

I go to the Black Lion for drinks quite often with my boyfriend as it's local to me and have been for food with my family a couple of times too and it's lovely. The staff are friendly and it's a nice atmosphere. Nice drinks as well.

Myself and 4 friends had Christmas lunch at the Black Lion. It was delicious. Really nothing to complain about. The food was great value for money. We have eaten there many times throughout the year and it is always lovely. The staff are helpful and are very polite. I look forward to going there again in 2 weeks with another group of friends.

Had the wonderful experience of meeting Jade the barmaid. Full of happiness and made my day, couldn't ask for a better experience. Would recommend to anyone. Any problems, ask for Jade! Above all that, the landlady, Jen runs a wonderful pub with fantastic staff. Pubs are all about good people and this pub is full of them!

Great chill environment on weekdays if you want a relaxing pint, and usually packed on Fridays and Saturdays so you get the best of both worlds with this place. 100% would recommend, I come here often.

Staff were very friendly! Food was very tasty with good portion sizes but some dishes were not available, and the wait was a bit long. Great value for what you got!

Probably the best place I've ever been too. No other pub can top this experience. I've never been so happy, drunk and accepted in my life. Atmosphere is welcoming but lacking air conditioning. But I can score any lower as this place is amazing and if I died I would want to be brought here as a form or purgatory. Would recommend, also the food is nice. Good job

Very nice friendly lady behind the bar! Decent local ales and tasty, reasonably priced grazing plates (we had cauliflower wings, loaded fries & macaroni cheese, 3 for £10). Not a super characterful pub but a pleasant enough traditional boozer.

Fantastic steak cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious, compliments to the Chef. Great value for money. Excellent service as always from the staff. We will be back.

I go to The Black Lion on a regular basis and have to say I feel extremely welcome. Jen, and 'The Team' have welcomed me into their family and its amazing. I would recommend The Black Lion to anyone in the area, indeed I often am accompanied by two of my friends who also feel that its a great place. Jen really cares for the customers that come into the pub and her attitude towards us proves this.

Had a lovely lunch today, excellent food, extremely sociable staff, perfect venue for a Girlie Catch up. Will definitely be back....

I organised a quiz night here with a colleague for a Charity Quiz night for CRUK. They reserved a huge area for us to host the quiz, and the staff were friendly and tentative. It was a lovely space, and the event was a huge success, raising lots of money for CRUK. Drinks service was excellent, staff were helpful, I couldn’t have asked for more.

Came down with a group of friends for Wales rugby, atmosphere was amazing, the two girls behind the bar were excellent and very attentive, bar snacks including freshly made rolls went down a storm! Safe to say we will most definitely be back!

It was very quiet despite "Google Maps" saying it was busier than usual! Good service and good lager.

I have never met such rude staff in any pub before. Not to mention the toilets were absolutely revolting, i had to hold my nose as i walking in and out due to how bad the smell was. Worst pub i have ever been to.

We go here every few weeks. Good local pub. Looks like it has had some refurbishments done which have improved the pub. We didnt eat here on this occasion but they do serve food and it was good when we ate here.

Many years since I've been in the Black Lion and it's changed a lot, called in for a lunchtime meal and was really surprised at the range on offer and reasonable pricing, food order was quick and barstaff/waitress was pleasant and efficient, would definitely recommend and come again.

Visited with my friend, had the best cod and chips I’ve had in a very long time, the batter was delicious, crispy and super light, fish was tasty and chips, amazing. 10/10 to the chef, looking forward to returning very soon.

Made a booking for this pub on wednesday for Friday to have a few drinks and a meal with my friends. The food was lovely and the staff were great!
