Worst food me and my wife have ever had . The fish and chips was dripping with Fat and the scampi wasn't any better. The paninie looked like it had been put together from scraps from the Bin . Discusting food .

Not the best of experiences in terms of the atmosphere. Perhaps a preferred option during the summer months as there are more options outdoors than indoors.

What can I say, it's a weatherspoons i mean in the morning, calm and pleasant, evening a little more crazy

Bartender was extremely disrespectful. She came up to me at the bar, took my order (2 beers), looked at me like I'm an idiot, walked away and served her friend on the other side of the bar instead. Not only did she completely ignore me, but then lied, telling her friend "You were here first, and you're NOT getting my discount this time!", which she most definitely wasn't, she arrived at the bar after me. If it was simply a case of the bartender saying "Sorry, I'll serve you next, I think they were here before you" Then I'd chalk it up to a simple misunderstanding, however its completely obvious I was ignored so the bartender could serve their friend instead.

Busy but plenty of room to keep a Distance from strangers. Lager good.

I regularly drive 10 miles passing other establishments to have breakfast at Northfield. The food is hot, well presented and the first dining room by the kitchen is always warm and inviting. Well done to all of the staff you are doing an excellent job

These have to be the dirtiest toilets ever, the gents 3 cubicles, 1 clean. No toilet paper, 2nd 1 caked in dried excrement over seat and bowl, filthy certainly not cleaned today, 3rd urine all over floor and seat, partner just gone into disabled toilet, floor soaked, these really need a good look at, disgraceful they really are, spoilt an otherwise pleasant visit

On this visit, I met a mate for breakfast. A large breakfast unlimited coffee, what more can you ask for?

Didn’t make the best use of the space. Looked a bit tired. Beer was good. Food OK

Fish and chips without tartar sauce is absolutely unacceptable

Me and my partner and son ate here today and I will say I was very disappointed with the food. It came out very quick after ordering witch I thought great quick service but I was sadly let down with the food as it was cold. I won't be going back in a hurry.

My only wish is that they play the music atmosphere is live. Huge establishment I had burger and fries on Christmas Eve. Friendly staff.

Great pub, but tend to serve at other end of bar all the time. Plenty of staff, not interested in the smaller bar 😡

I visited on Christmas day so can't comment on the food. What I can say,is that the staff battled on despite the unforgiving tide of punters.Big it up for the guys and gals. I'm not sure if opening on a Bank holiday is the norm for Wetherspoons,but let me tell you as a single guy,can't thank you enough.Fantasic day with some people I knew others I didn't,but at least for awhile I was amongst others.Thanks to all involved,you made a long day much easier.Thank you Wetherspoons.

Not a freindly comfortable atmosphere.

Used to be very homily with real open fires in every room...visited recently with a group of friends and there was no fires at all...l enquired and was told by a staff member that the new manager doesn't like them ..what a shame that one person's view isn't shared by anyone else..

Fantastic pub, attended a wake upstairs, the only thing is my mom is unsteady on her legs and found it difficult getting upstairs.

Lovely and friendly staff. Very helpful managers who helped me with a parking ticket issue.

Small breakfast is the ideal because you can add any you want. You can customize and add your choice. The servers are polite. My son love this pub. We love this pub.

We are having our breakfast now. The Small Breakfast is just right and ideal portion for me. You can do adds on too if you like extra bacon or egg etc. They have got yummy food especially their bacon today that tasted like barbeque. Right now at 8:57AM there is not much people yet so it is calm and clean ambience. I also LOVE their CRISPY fish and chips. Sometimes although I ordered small they will give me a big crispy battered fish. My family and I always eat here and will be doing so. I highly recommend this pub. My son and husband too loves this place. :-)

The food is good value but have noticed since the manager took over standers on the floor have slowly got worse, for instance breakfast menus still on the tables at 6pm, and no menus saying that Tuesday is steak night, toilets not cleaned and toilet paper dispenser empty, but signed off as ok every hour?? Great pub needs better management obviously 🙄

It was very busy last night, I enjoyed my time there ,, the cheese base pizza was delicious 😋.

Usually have the Wiltshire Ham,Egg and chips. Today very disappointed. The Ham appeared to have been sliced Ham from a Sandwich Pack. Not Wiltshire has stated on menu. Only 1 very thin slice as well.Although the price remained the same. Maybe just a blip If they selling inferior Ham should that not be reflected in the price.

Waiting times no matter what time you turn up always a long wait for food and a drink . Staff walk passed yous on there phones extra to be fair when u do get service it's fine but it's just to slow even on a Tuesday night Wen there's a few punters in yet u still waiting .. got abit fedup waiting and on top of that family gatherings food comes out in 2halfs so you don't get to eat with each other shame really as used to have a cracking karaoke on a Thursday back in the day when travelers was open in Northfield and the bell pub ..

Great staff, but not enough of them

Basic spoons but I'll never use this place again. Parking charge and appeal ignored!!! BEWARE! Blackhorse losing custom, hope selling parking rights were worth it. Myself and our extremely large family will not be returning as we did for many years previous.

Great beer festival....all Weatherspoons selling DIFFERENT ales at any one time. Beers though will be on rotation between the pubs.

Good selection of beers & ales,service was prompt with helpful staff & not over crowded when I nipped in for a quick pint.(couldn't comment on the food as I didn't eat)

Rubbish and rubbish service and don't even tell you you have to pay parking so now i have a fine for parking on the pub absolutely ridiculous never again

1st and last time here. Wasn't impressed by the food at all.

Rly good atmosphere, food was cooked rly well and they made my chips extra crispy per my request so thankyou people! Been here a couple of times now as it's a nice place to have something to eat and a drink!

This is an OK pub for ocassional eating out. Some of the clientelle can be a bit dubious. Wait at bar isn't too long but sometimes you get overlooked by all the staff prioritising app orders, which is frustrating when you are actually stood waiting. Would have gotten more stars if it wasn't for the fact it cost £4.19 for half a pint of draught cider.....

A great weatherspoon pub, not like a regular weatherspoons, more like entering an old manor house. As always, great value on the food and drink, the place was very busy, we visited on a bank holiday weekend but managed to get a table as the place is huge, remember to log your car as you enter for free parking. One of my favourite Weatherspoons pubs. A credit to the brand.

Okay the clientele can be a bit ropey sometimes, but the food and drink and service are always top notch.

The blackhorse has really stood the test of time it is a beautiful building inside and out with lots of historical architecture the garden out the back are beautiful and clean the food is just the standard weather spoons food but I have never had bad food here it's cheap and cheerful

Had miners benedict, was very nice. The real ale was good too.

'Traditional' Wetherspoons. You know what to expect and it delivers. Great :-)

Typical weatherspoons pub... great value and service.. a little bit dated but in the whole what you'd expect.

The pub is in a beautiful historic and massive building with a large garden area overlooking a bowling green. Beer was good as was our meals, service was okay

Sadly every place has a bad day. This appeared to be their's. Others have given this place a great review. Unfortunately, one dish sold out (not their fault, happens). One dish came out cold (heated without fuss). Another so bad they had to remake it. Turned a quick Sunday meal in to an epic fail. Like I say others have been impressed and the other food was good. We all have an off day. Would I go back.. Maybe it is a nice building.

Food only luke warm. Asked if meal was ok and I said its almost cold. Did nothing. Very disappointed.

Had a wedding do upstairs, was spacious. The food was a little over cooked but drinks were reasonable.

Service excellent. Prices Fantastic. Food was good but the portion size is woefully small. I ordered fish and chips and was served a small fish and possibly a dozen chips. I was assured that the "small" version would have been even smaller. Left hungry.

I complain when it's needed and compliment when due. Would not have come here but fiance wanted walk, drink, food, so. What a 1000% improvement on my last visit and review. Nice sunny evening so sat outside and ordered via the app, (Drinks only well we look at food) I'm impressed, arrived in 4 minutes, exactly as ordered. After the first drinks time to order food, and well done, arrived in under 8 minutes, hot, edible, and nice to look at, well done chef, presentation is noticed !!. Scampi and a curry, all very nice. Food, drinks, pleasant outside surroundings, and enjoyed. Well done and thank you.

Breakfast spot on all nice and fresh

I ordered two burgers and 3 beers I got the beers I waited a long time for the burgers because they lost my order

I do not recommend, we waited for the burger for over an hour and then it turned out that the waiter did not accept our order as two burgers, only one wrap, where we paid for 2 meals

Food was really nice and came quick, drinks are cheap and they arrive quite quickly. Some staff were more friendly than others. Outside of it is really nice but inside isn’t as nice as other spoons I’ve been too. Toilets are clean and there’s a lot of them, but facilities aren’t always topped up. Menus are updated and easy to read, new items added which were nice to try. Portion of chips sometimes is way too small. Gammon was cooked nicely. Egg comes runny.

Just went to the black horse for breakfast Order a vegetarian with extra bacon n a normal large breakfast both bacon was missing took the one breakfast back but bacon and then I realised the tomato was missing of the veggie breakfast they then took that back and brought me the bacon out to sit and go cold while they sorted my breakfast out it was meant to be two pieces of bacon I got one piece n a load of fatty pieces to make up the piece the breakfast was cold n we specifically asked for runny eggs and the eggs were hard I then asked is it a new chef as I'm a chef myself n work in pubs to be told the gm was in the kitchen well clearly don't know what there doing came from far aswell as never had a problem with the breakfast before so disappointed

We held our Baby's Gender Reveal and all the staff were very receptive from the beginning. The food was excellent and we will definitely come back more often!

Always happy to eat at Black horse, good food, yummy, drinks ,smiling staff. I feel they need to work more on getting the tables clean once the customer leaves. Most times, i do need to call their attention for this.

Really nice pub, first visit, very busy when we turned up and managed to get a table, there was outside seating for those who preferred this option. Busy and unable to find someone to remove the previous plates and glasses, or clean the table,,we were able to move the used dishes glasses etc to another table and cleaned our own table but accepted it on how busy the staff were. Meals were good value for the money and drinks too. Recommended

Very large and unusual 'spoons in a historic improved pub.

The access is good, but the staff seem fed up to be there. The food is good and so are the cocktails. The disabled toilet is roomy and clean.

Good grub, good prices, good venue but a tad too noisy for me. My guess is the place is heaving at weekends and evenings and fair enough too. Easy access and ample parking so it fitted the bill ok for us that day.

Fairly typical Wetherspoons pub with a standard menu. We ate burgers and pizzas and all tasted quite good. Update, April 2nd 2024 Received parking penalty in post for not registering my car on the tablet at the bar. The staff at The Black Horse very kindly arranged for this to be cancelled, excellent service. Ensure that you put your registration number into the tablet upon arrival, 3 hours max parking.

Great value for money. One pint of Ruddles bitter £1.59. excellent pint Just shows beer doesn't have y be £6 per pint. If you are hungry a good place to stop. Forget beer this is the place for coffee. Something like £1.65 you can have as many refills as you want of great coffee miles better than McDonald's coffee.

A good place to come for a drink

Visited as a group of six for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We all ordered individually on the app, and it was so easy. It's a typical Wetherspoons, so you should know what to expect, but what a great building!

Visited here tonight. Ordered a chicken tikka masala curry with a pint (San Miguel). Can’t complain for £10. Got served at bar shortly and meal come out in under ten minutes. Will return back. Sat in quieter part of pub. Nice 😊

Had a chicken cheese and bacon panini with chips and drink The panini was not like panini bread and was overcooked all they put in there was a bit chicken and cheese no bacon was in there not happy i paid 7 quid for that not even worth it Disappointed

The mix race worker from here is absolutely rude very unprofessional and needs to learn how to communicate properly. Needs to learn some manners and not talk to people like they are beneath him absolutely disrespectful. Don’t work in customer service if you don’t know how to talk to people.
