Ed's Easy Diner in Birmingham

I received a perfect welcome during my visit on Tuesday April 15 The servers were very attentive and did everything to make me feel comfortable A big thank you to Filip!

Came for breakfast before heading to work with a family member, staff was welcoming and friendly. The food was a let down, I had the flying starter breakfast and requested my eggs to be well done which they did perfectly but the other family members eggs was under cooked and that put us off a little bit. 😕

It's a cute little place as part of the Selfridge's Diner part of the store. Lucy was a lovely server and made sure we had everything we needed. Would come again if I'm in Birmingham :)

We was served by Lucy one of our best experiences at EDs. She was so friendly and super helpful were awkward customers but she had no problem with helping make our requests.

Fantastic service as usual! This is our go to place when we come to Birmingham for breakfast. Today my wife had a pancake too and i have never seen her so happy! Thank you too all especially Lucy our server.

Enjoyed lunch at Ed’s easy diner, the cheese burger and vegan chicken burger were lovely and the side of fries were the perfect accompaniment. We also had a Coke float & milkshake which I would recommend too! Lucy our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend and will return.

The food was fantastic, each of us had a different burger and side and everything still came out promptly. (Faster than I was expecting) The milkshakes are a reason alone to come here. We were served by Blaise. She was friendly and patient, providing excellent/top quality service. We'd all be happy come again!

I visited with my two young daughters and was told there would be a 20-minute wait, with the promise of a text message when our table was ready. We provided our number and waited patiently, keeping my hungry children occupied with a snack. After 25 minutes without any text, we returned to the restaurant. The hostess claimed they had texted us 17 minutes earlier (which we never received) and said our table had been given away due to their 15-minute reservation policy. Despite multiple visible empty tables, they stated they were unusable due to staff shortages, though I observed several staff members standing idle in the dining area. When I explained that my children were very hungry and asked about solutions, the staff seemed indifferent and merely repeated their policy. We ultimately had to leave and find another restaurant. What disappointed me most was not the wait itself, but the lack of customer service and empathy shown to a family with young children.

Lucy made our visit even more enjoyable. Lovely smiley face, lots of giggles. Food was lovely and had such a enjoyable visit!

The diner itself is a really cozy experience. The service was quick and welcoming. Arrived 3 minutes before breakfast ended, but the waiter, Blaise asked the kitchen and they got us our breakfast order. Overall wonderful experience, and this is mostly thanks to the staff member, Blaise.

Chris was our server today and he was wonderfully attentive, especially given we had gluten free and vegan specific needs as well as a lovely clean table fully wheelchair accessible.

The whole family had a lovely meal at ed’s dinner today, the food was amazing and so was our server Chris. Would recomend if your looking for somewhere to nice and family friendly to eat.

Un lugar encantador, sin embargo, yo y mi amigo hemos estado antes y habíamos pedido comidas para niños, sin embargo, esta vez nos sentamos y procedimos a mirar las comidas para niños sin embargo y un trabajador vino y dijo "¿por qué estás mirando las comidas para niños sin embargo" y respondí con que lo hemos pedido antes de ningún problema, ya que señaló el límite de edad, sin embargo, luego tachó la hamburguesa en el menú diciendo que no podemos tenerlo porque era del mismo tamaño que la hamburguesa para adultos, que está considerando considerar que la hamburguesa para adultos es de casi £ 15, así que básicamente estafar a la gente comida era agradable, pero en general un poco tonto

It has always been a positive experience dinning at Ed's in Selfridges (Bham). However, today has been very disappointing. Menu change is dreadful. I was going to order Mac n Cheese as a side dish but advised by staff member the 'kids' portion would be better than the side option as it was not available as a 'main'. The kids version was literally 2 tablespoons! I was told by staff member this was more than I would have received if ordered as a side! Also, menu was not explained fully which literally spending over £30 on a kids option, chicken tenders, onion rings and portion of fries. I shall not be visiting Ed's again. Very disappointing service and quantity and quality of food.

El servicio era bueno, el servidor del personal conversador era olivier según el recibo parecía feliz en el trabajo a diferencia de otros lugares a las 8 pm en una noche entre semana. La comida no tardó mucho y era de buena calidad y sabor. El lugar estaba limpio y ordenado. Buena relación calidad-precio 👏

Blaise was excellent and made us very welcome.

The staff were great but I was really disappointed with the new menu. They’ve removed all the vegetarian and vegan main dishes except for one. It feels like an afterthought rather than a genuine effort to cater to different dietary preferences. While there are still plenty of side dishes, it’s just not the same. It feels like they’ve taken a big step back in catering to plant-based diners. The variety that made this place so enjoyable has completely disappeared. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, you’ll likely leave feeling underwhelmed and overlooked, there’s little to no point in coming anymore. Such a shame, as this used to be a go-to spot.
