I had traditional sausage and mash with two pints of real ale what a lovely treat before going to Clementine Churchill hospital a really lovely pub. I highly recommend it

My tour group was booked in for Dinner on Good Friday. The staff were really fantastic and the food was great! My group really enjoyed their experience! Thank you to everyone at The Black Horse!

Another Ember Inns in my area. Ladies lunch, which went well, probably because of the very good food at the Black Horse. It has an excellent selection of food; today I had the Haddock and chips which was a beautiful white piece of fish with very nice crispy batter, fat chips and mushy peas. I wasn't having a dessert but on seeing the sticky toffee pudding I changed my mind - yummy. Friends had posh fish with baby new potatoes, lasagna, chicken and mushroom pie plus Haddock and chips. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It's a great venue for groups as it's spacious and airy. Drinks selection is good. All in all first class.

I went to The Black Horse for lunch on 23rd Feb. I ordered Shepherds Pie. It should have been advertised as Potato Pie. It was difficult to find any sign of meat. In my 80 odd years I've never had a more disappointing Shepherds Pie. I very civilly reported my dissatisfaction and was told 'I'll tell the Chef'. I would have thought he already knew.

We have been to the Blackhorse Wembley several times including on Mother’s Day and loved the food and the reasonable price. Therefore, we willingly decided to book this pub for our Christmas Day lunch. We were a party of 6: 4 adults and 2 children (4 & 7). My husband and the kids arrived first then the other adults arrived a bit later. We were seated at a nice, cosy part of the pub and then ordered drinks from the bar. After sitting for a while no one came to our table so I had to politely ask the waitress to get our order, emphasising for the waitress to bring out the starter and the main at the same time for my 4 year old. So we patiently waited for our starters noting that all the other tables were having at least a starter or their main. After about 20 minutes I asked one of the waitresses about our order and said she would find out. To my surprise rather than communicating to me what was going on she brought more food to the other tables so had to wait another 20 minutes. By that time my two kids were starting to get upset and hungry. So I enquired that we are still waiting for our starters and to my amazement I was told that there was food waiting to be served and it was a case of first come first served. This did not make sense, otherwise why have a booking system as people would just turn up. After about another 15 minutes we still did not receive our meal so I enquired again and was advised that our order will be ready soon. After yet another lengthy wait and feeling exasperated I spoke to the manager and was surprised that even our starters had not arrived. Eventually we received our starters after an 1 hour 15 mins of waiting. Things did not get any better when we again had to wait for another 30 mins for our main meal. By this time we were all frustrated and stressed out by and did not fully enjoy our meal due to the disproportionate and poor communication. After the meal I went to the manager to get an ice lolly for my son and relayed the excessive delay to the manager who did not apologise but merely stated that the kitchen staff were working as hard as they could. I appreciate that as it was Christmas it was busy but to wait for over an hour is wholly unacceptable and unfortunately was one of the last memory of the day. Even my 4 year old son gave it the thumbs down. A very dissapointing conclusion to what was a very good Christmas up to the waiting for our meals. This year I would rather stress out in the kitchen cooking Christmas dinner rather than going to pub for Christmas. Please note before writing my review on Trip advisor I emailed the Blackhorse pub twice relaying the above and on both occasions did not receive any response. Sums up the lack of customer care that this pub has for its customers. Very disappointed!

The Christmas menu advertised on their website wasn’t running and had been substituted for a poorer version which they didn’t have the stock for anyway. Customers were kept waiting for 15 minutes at the bar as there was only one person serving at peak time. Food took an hour as there was only one chef who couldn’t cope alone. The small lunch special menu was mainly out of stock. The main ale was also out of stock. I gave up and went elsewhere.

We had our Christmas meal for our crochet club. The staff were so helpful, from the initial booking to the actual night. The table was all laid up with name cards and xmas crackers, the food was punctual and very good. The Christmas dinner in particular was huge. It was a really enjoyable evening and all the staff were great, particularly Naz. Thanks Black Horse

First time visiting this newly renovated pub. Lovely brunch today in a great setting. Friendly service and value for money.Will definitely be returning

Its a pub thats changed hands a few times but its always been a good place to eat and drink Theres parking for about 20 cars, outdoor benches and lots of space indoors it’s currently closed for refurbishment so it’ll be good to see what it looks like when finished.

Came in for a quick lunch before heading home after visiting family in the area. Friendly staff, lots of choice on the menu. When we cameto order, we were advised that you had run out of a particular topping, which wasn't an issue. I went to pay with M&B online voucher, that wasn't accepted. The barman tried to scan the code and then typed the number. I have never had an issue with this type of voucher before so not sure why this was not acceptable. The food that arrived was nice.

Great catch up with friends, has a anice beer garden that gets the sun all afternoon. Staff are all friendly and welcoming.

My family celebrated my birthday with a sumptuous lunch on Sunday 02nd April, 2023 at the Black Horse. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The menus were so tempting. Pre-lunch cocktails were just right to start off the Sunday selection of roasts, sharing platters and puds. The atmosphere was just right. It was an enjoyable occasion.

First family outing for 4 years on mother's Day. Prices remained the same as any other Sunday which was appreciated in the current economic climate. Nothing fancy just right for the kids to be able to be themselves without airs and graces. Good selection of food to cover a wide variety of tastes within the group. We found the service fast and the food of excellent quality. Staff were friendly and helpful and we will be looking to return in the near future.

Good for some basic pub food and drink at reasonable prices. Quite a few menu options unavailable when we visited, hopefully this was a one off as would like to visit again. The woman who served behind the bar was lovely.

I booked a table for me and my partner for a after Christmas meal and drink , we paid over £70 for 2 soft drinks and main course , the food was horrific it was just like a microwaved meal , totally dry and inedible , I paid extra for some condiments and when they arrived they was again inedible so I asked for some burger sauce and was told I had to pay extra even though I spent over £70 !!! The staff are the rudest you could imagine and made us wait over 2 hours for our food ,I’m pleased to I won’t be going back again and would definitely advise anyone to avoid eating here.

I went to last week. We ordered Sunday roast. When it arrived it was very cold. We were told not to go-to the bar. The restaurant staff was rushed off their feet and we were unable to draw their attention. We left half the food.

Went to the black horse last night. Booked a table outside for 7pm. Apparently you can't book for outside (even though we did) so there were no tables. We waited for a table. Queued up for 30mins to get to the front of the bar to order food, where the bar lady was arguing with the waitress saying to f*** track and trace because they are too busy. We finally get to the front of the line only to be told there is no chicken, no beef burgers and no fish. The lady managing the queue was very polite, as was the male waiter. There were only three staff members for about 100 people. They were rushed off their feet and nobody was adhering to social distancing rules. The person on the table next to us had ordered fish and chips and had only been given two chips. Management should be ashamed. More staff need to be working on the three eat out to help out days. Masks should be worn. And when there are a over 100 people with no social distancing, track and trace is quite important as a breakout is highly likely.

14 of us came here for my 70th birthday and we had a wonderful time. The group of us was adults and children and the venue was just perfect. A couple of items on the menu were not available but that didn't matter as the choice was great anyway. Parking is easy.

We had booked for 3 of us for Christmas Day lunch in London near my step mothers house. My husband ended up in hospital in Nottingham over Christmas with a burst appendix. He obviously could not make lunch but he insisted I went. I expected the pub to refuse to refund his prepaid meal.However in true Christmas spirit they offered to refund the whole payment to a gift card on 23 December. Luckily both my stepmother and I made it and my husband is now back home safe and sound.So good friendly management and staff and the food and service was good. This year we intend to go again and as my husband has used up his appendix we should all be there

This pub has got a lot better in the last 12 months. Very warm and friendly, it is currently decked out for Xmas. It was lovely today to see Reuben the manager handle a rude customer with such ease: a woman was rude to the barmaid and he stepped in and managed it perfectly. A great team of staff.

Absolutely lovely food, Prawn Cocktail to start, Christmas Dinner and profiterols to finish, couldn't fault the food. The pub has a great atmosphere and on this particular night a live singer. Highly recommend this place.

Sixteen or so of us for birthday Sunday lunch (including kids), which we pre-booked as this pub has a tendency to get very busy. Staff all friendly and helpful when we adjusted orders. Food: We were not disappointed. Large portions ( I couldn't finish my main course), everything hot and timely, although the roasts were slightly delayed. Pudding was a treat. I can certainly vouch for the apple crumble and custard, the treacle sponge and custard also looked very tempting....I had to warn myself that I couldn't physically eat another pud. A nice time as usual. Left there totally stuffed.Sorry about the lack of photos, some people gobbled their food down before I had a chance. Don't worry, more next time.

Ordered chicken roasts that had undercooked carrots,potatoes and rock hard stuffing,staff said she cannot do anything due to the food being cooked early that morning and had been reheated at 5 pm that day. The only thing she could do was give me carrots and parsnips in order to apologise. Disgusting

My wife and I enjoyed the food and service the last few times we visited the Black Horse, so much so that I thought I ought to report how much things have improved here over the past couple of years or so.On our recent visit I had what is described as "posh" fish and chips which is actually fish and chips using Sea Bass as the fish. Very tasty and enjoyable, and a pleasant change from the usual white fish that we are now accustomed to.Service was very prompt and staff polite. Food arrived at our table in a shorter time than we expected as it was a busy period.Keep up the excellent customer service!

Ordered full sugar Pepsi cola, as an ingredient give me severe instant migraine, and was given pepsi max. When took back to bar, rude eastern European sever argued with and was adamant it was not diet. When here colleague said " we only serve pepsi max here"! I was basically told go and away drink it! Shame rhe food was ordered otherwise I would have walked out. Used be nice here.

Rushed service from the young woman who served us and it wasn't really that busy. The ale tasted off, i managed half of it just because i thought to give it the benefit of the doubt. When i told the woman who served us she feigned sympathy and really did not care. She didn't offer me a replacement drink or refund. I give it two stars because it was a clean location.

Came in for Sunday roast no beef available at 1.30pm poor kitchen organisation I suppose. Reluctantly ordered the sirloin steak at almost £15 a throw - no flavour to steak at all & my food arrived after 25 minutes & looked all dried out & it was cold including the gravy. Asked waitress had my food been hanging around in the kitchen and of course was told no. Only thing hot was the cauliflower and cheese very nice. This is now another place we will not be returning to what a pity.

Went here for drinks, and some desserts. Nice place, with friendly staff and good prices. Located a little bit outside center of London, you must take a bus to get there. But worth the trip, at least if you stay in the Wembley area, as we did.

Food is great and very reasonable. The staff are amazing. The landlord Reuben is a lovely, kind hearted man. I had my 50th party in this pub and it was fantastic. It's a proper local facility, but it welcomes everyone. Karaoke nights are brilliant and the quiz, which is held every Tuesday is great fun, very competitive. I'd 100% recommend this put to anyone and everyone.

Used to be my local in the past , as I was in the Heathrow area meeting up a friend on a short stay in London and wanted some good Fish and chips, I visited this old Gem again .

Absolutely awful. Visited here with a group of 8 for a family get together. All meals were lukewarm. One meal was upgraded to come with a Yorkshire Pudding and 2 extra pigs in blankets. This did not come with the meal and had to be requested, it arrived once meal was finished, the sausages were raw. Such a shame as have been here before on a very busy Sunday and the food was lovely. It was not at all busy last night in the restaurant but the food was very sub standard. Extremely disappointing meal for all 8 of us.

This is our favourite local pub area when my husband and I are both lazy to cook. It’s very cozy, good food and not that expensive. Been here many times!

This pub used to be a favourite of my friends and I. My family decided to come here for a quick drink. It still is a decent pub but had lost its charms and atmosphere, perhaps it has new owners.

It was my friend's birthday today and we went for drinks and dinner. I ordered a big meal as was starving. After 40 minutes of wait when I chased for my order I was told that the food was given to another table by accident. The man said he will need another 15 minutes to cook the same thing. I agreed but it didn't reach our table till another 35-40 minutes. In this time I had gone to the staff members to check the progress of my food he didn't have time to stop and have a eye contact and acknowledge their mistake. Rather he said he has 20 different things to do so couldn't stop and tell me about my order.

A business contract meeting was organised, and we arranged to use the Black Horse, due to location. A great welcome was given on arrival, staff very friendly and food was given the thumbs up.

We stopped here to meet family in London. We sat and drank and ate for five hours. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food was average but enjoyable. A good choice of beer and other drinks for a group. I would go back again.

Called into the black horse for few drinks with friends on a recent visit to Harrow. We had a few drinks outside in the seated garden and moved inside later in the evening. Overall the drink was good, service was fine and the property is in good condition. There was a nice vibe about the place with nice friendly clientele. I'll call again the next time I visit this part of London.

The toilets here were so vile that we left. Out of 4 women's cubicles, 1 was locked off, 1 full of vomit, 1 has no toilet seat and the other has urine all over the seat and floor. How awful that they cannot even manage to organise a checking and cleaning rota. Very poor management here and if they can't get that right, I am not giving them my money.

Only two bar staff working who served their mates first. Stood at the bar for 10 minutes while everyone else around us got served. They didn’t have a clue what was going on.

Really excellent meal here. Very comfortable and spacious. Lovely staff. The special menu for 2 or 3 courses is so reasonable and big portions. Food served very quickly and very hot. The noodles gorgeous as was the brownie desert. Parking a little challenging at times. So worth a visit

The pub/ restaurant was booked for a party of 12 to celebrate Xmas lunch. A dedicated car park to the rear and public bus service adjoining the front road made the venue very accessible. The atmosphere and ambiance was welcoming. The choice of beers was reasonable and also had seasonal beer for Xmas which some group members enjoyed. The seasons food of turkey with side dishes of vegetables was reasonable. There was also a choice of other non turkey and vegetarian food too. The desert of Xmas pudding with brandy sauce or custard served was timely and again complemented the season. The service was friendly and not too hurried as it was a social gathering. The background music was soft and not too loud making conversations possible. I would definitely come back to this pub again in future.

Been here many times, I was surprised when they served the food cold. When I complained they offered to warm it up but fish and chips won't taste the same putting it I a microwave. So asked for a fresh one, when they bought it out it was half a fish. I didn't bother to say anything, but they didn't even apologise. Customer service is not there main focus, definitely won't be ordering that again. Need better trained staff to delivery better service.

It is well worth considering this pub if you are in the locale. Reasonable prices, a wide choice and each of us a well presented and well cooked meal too. To add to this, the staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The ambience is inviting and you are treated well from arrival to departure. I would choose to eat here again whenever I'm in the area. First rate service and food, wide range of drinks and a reasonable size car park too.

Después de una experiencia fiable hace unos 18 meses, me convenció por un nuevo conocido que este pub estaba ahora bastante bien y tenían el orgullo de Londres como huésped en amargo. Sólo así nos seguidos ligeramente y temporalmente que habían vendido decepcionado, pero con muchas otras opciones a elegir, no nos preocupe? No, ya que su condena fue 'probablemente la mejor cerveza de la zona (que incluye tres Fullers' de todos modos) y el Adnam fue el segundo. El personal del bar era excelente y tan lleno de buen humor que la maña fue memorable en sí mismo. Por supuesto, pedimos comida entre pintas. Llegó rápidamente, caliente y con una sonrisa. Era mucho mejor que la que se merece un 5 estrellas (en la escala de pub) solamente. . . Visita fue en húmedo así que no había demasiada gente martes, pero el jardín, desde la distancia, parecía bastante buena también. Recuerdo de hace 20 años que este pub tenía un bonito jardín con una zona de juegos para niños) así que espero serán muchas más visitas. Podría incluso traer mi señora, ya que, después de todo, es de todos la elaboración de una buena familia local. . . . .

En una anterior visita a el Black Horse, Wembley, no estuve muy impresionado. Fui con 4 amigos en una noche de damas. Personal amable, comida decente, buen ambiente y precios razonables. Volvería. Puede probar el amplio jardín de la cerveza la próxima vez, si el tiempo lo permite.

He estado yendo a caballo negro durante varios años con 6 - 8 amigos que visita semanal para la cena y bebidas. La comida es típica comida de pub, y de una calidad razonable y variedad. Tienen una buena selección de cervezas, incluyendo un 2 / 3 cervezas que regularmente son cambiados. Reuben, el gerente y su personal es muy amable y servicial. Siempre disfrutamos de nuestra visitas semanales.

10 of us had lunch here recently. Staff made us very welcome, with attentive service. Table was reserved for us. Pub was busy but food came much more quickly than anticipated. Hearty rather than haute cuisine, but enjoyable. Convenient for Wembley stadium, just a short bus ride away.

Had the most AWFUL experience at this place. Went for a roast on Mother's Day 26/03/17. We made a 3pm reservation for 4 people. We were seated, given menus and not acknowledged thereafter. We placed our order at the counter and the lady taking my order had no idea about the menu and didn't know the answer to two of my questions and didn't bother asking someone to help her out - rather just shrugged off my questions. An HOUR later, the olives and bread arrived that we ordered as a starter. Another half an hour later I asked about the main meal. All the staff were running around like headless chickens so it was difficult to grab their attention. TWO HOURS and FIFTEEN minutes after ordering, our main meals arrived. And of course, two out of four dishes were completely wrong and not what we ordered. We called someone over to explain and again, it was simply shrugged off. Chicken was not cooked, chips were brown/stale and refried and vegetables were awful. Eventually we just walked out having not touched our food. The waiters noticed we were unhappy and leaving (having paid in full) however didn't utter a word and let us leave. WOULD NEVER GO BACK AND DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!! Thanks for ruining our Mother's Day lunch!

Visited on a Sunday. Excellent variety of good food and drinks. Very prompt service with an exceptional Sunday children's main. With a low ceiling looks homely with the great décor. I have been a regular customer at the Black Horse for many years!! Always fantastic customer service from all of the staff and food is of a great standard for a pub!! If you are in the area this pub is definitely worth a visit!!

Remember coming last year with my family and being disappointed but we've heard its was under management. We gave it another try with me friends and was pleasantly surprised. Staff changed and they seemed a lot more fun.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and there's always a good atmosphere. the food isn't 5 star restaurant but for what you get for pub food it's good value for money especially with the lunch and evening deals.I've enjoyed my visits here, I would say come check it yourself and don't let reviews sway you too much.

Visited this place on the 2nd of February for a date night with my wife. Ordered a bottle of wine along with the hickory chicken wings for starters.My wife ordered the steak and ale pie while I ordered the slow cooked pork belly for mains.The barmaid taking our order was friendly and we were promptly served. The chicken wings were not the greatest as the skin was quite soggy but palatable. My wife's mains were really nice according to her but I was disappointed when I received my mains.When I go to a pub or a restaurant and I order a pork belly, I, like other foodies, expect crispy crackling along with it. But alas, when I was served my mains, the crackling, or should I say the fatty skin, was soggy and had fat oozing out of it! (Wish I took a picture of it now)When I complained to our server, who I think was also the manager for the day, he tried to pull a fast one saying that if it was cooked anymore it would be burnt. Now, I am married to a chef and watch a fair few cookery shows and even I know that when my fork passes through crackling like knife through butter, it is not crackling! But he wouldn't take it! He offered me another dish which I asked for the tender boneless short rib but he said they had run out! It was around 8pm on a Thursday and to say you've run out of something on the menu is not something I expect. There were no apologies and I was handed my money back as though as I was a beggar on the streets when I refused to order anything else on the menu.I'm not saying that a restaurant or a pub do not make mistakes, but what annoys me most is that when I give feedback on the food, the server tries to put you down by saying that's how it is cooked!!Absolutely pathetic and the customer service was shocking!It's not the first time I've been to a restaurant or a pub and it's not the first time I've had to send food back as it did not live upto expectations.But it's definitely the first time, especially from a renowned chain like Ember Inns, has a server told me that this is the way food is cooked!I spent almost half an hour giving feedback on their website while at the restaurant and it's been over 10 days and I've heard nothing back from their management.There is no way I'm going back to this pub again for a date night or any other night and I won't recommend any of my fellow readers to waste their time here either.

My partner and I brought our mothers and a friend for Christmas day dinner as we did eat here regularly being that we live local. The food served to us was so so poor. Looked like it had been sitting all day, the vegetables had no taste just full of water. Everything was bland and cold.We paid 40.00 each. Massively disappointment that you would think it acceptable to serve food like this on Christmas day for 40.00 each. We will not be back next Christmas

Black Horse is a lovely clean welcoming pub, lounge and restaurant with indoor and outdoor sitting areas. A lovely fire place also. On site car parking. A good selection of ales and beers and a reasonable menu selection. Good value. Good quality.

Lovely place with a great service. The atomosphere is a nice experience, where you can enjoy a cold beer and a good food without expend a lot of money and my dog has been always welcome!

The staff are very nice, and the service was handled in fair time. The place is decorated pretty nicely, and the fireplaces made for a cosy atmosphere.

Menu options looked good however food was not good. Had the Sunday lunch option. Food was like warm. Beef was tough and hard to cut. Roast potatoes were made using poor quality potatoes and full of black bits. Mixes green veg were dire.

Lovely surroundings, excellent food and great value for money. Real homely atmosphere. Good prompt service.

the waitress didn't smile once! poor attitude by staff, a real shame as the food when it arrives is good.I complained not so long ago about poor service, received a call from the manager and promised a voucher no received to date! it looks like the pub/restaurant is being run by young persons and little staff available.

I've eaten at a number of Ember Inns (of which The Black Horse, Wembley, is one). Geographically, it is convenient for me to patronise The Black Horse if it made me happy. I visited some time ago with my wife and ordered lamb shank but got lamb chops and gave up waiting for a refund of the difference in price; also the bar server promised to bring our bottle of wine to the table to save me a return visit to the bar due to carrying other drinks and glasses - the wine arrived about the time we were finishing our meal. Overall not an exciting experience, so we simply patronise The Preston, Wembley, instead (see my reviews of The Preston on this website)..A friend of ours told us that The Black Horse seems to have improved, so we gave it another visit earlier this month. Sadly, we were again disappointed. We both ordered Sea Bass. It took an inordinate amount of time to arrive bearing in mind that the pub was not over-busy, and the food was served cold. Personally, I would have sent it back and complained but my wife said to avoid a fuss and just stick to The Preston in future!! She's right, of course!!

Was there today with a couple of friends and my partner for a quick drink. We ordered a few drinks and had a nice chat with the person behind the bar about the gluten free beer on the menu. Apart from the alcoholic drinks we also ordered a coffee which we were told she will bring to us. 15 mins after that we stil did not have the coffee. My friend went inside to remind the staff member of the order which she clearly forgotten and said it is coming straight away. 10 mins aftrr that we had to go in again and ask for the coffee to which she replied it is coming now but let me clear the bar first as she had a group of customers in front of hr ordering drinks. I had to remind her that he were waiting for a long time and we were about to go. Three minutes after that she brought us the coffee, just slammed it on the table, did not say anything and not even replied when we said thank you. Please sort out your staff.s attitude as it is discusting to treat customers like that. An apology would have made us forget about the delay completely.

Came here as a family, ordered various items including their steak and ale pie, fish and chips and mixed grill. Cooked well- nothing overlooked or dry, seasoned nicely, substantial portions. Good local.

I went here a couple of weekends ago and was impressed. The decor is great, the staff welcoming and the service quick and friendly. The menu has a wide selection of British classic dishes, steak and loads of desserts. There is also a selection of real ales and money off for CAMRA members.I ordered the prawn cocktail to start and it's simply served with a nice large amount of butter for the bread which you don't often get. I also ordered the pork ribs which was cooked perfectly - I was also able to have potatoes rather than chips which was appreciated. It's also a great place to relax in with clean toilets. It may be a bit out of my way but I hope I get to go back!

Really nice bar. Foods good and cooked fresh. Very nice decor and large beer garden. Staff very friendly and helpful. Patrons are mainly local, friendly and welcoming.

This is my local pub although I don't come in that often. Friendly and relaxed. Clean. Very nice garden area. Food is ok - menu acceptable and I believe they have various offers. All in all - pleasant place to come for a drink.

Excellent atmosphere very freindly staff loved the pub grub .Definitely for family .Also good for business meetings I would again n again

Over an hour for the food to be delivered to the table. I was told the delay was due to the kitchen being busy.Half empty pub did not seen busy to me. The sea bass was limp and tasteless and I felt the whole dish had been under a warming lamp for most of the evening.Will not visit again.
