Popped in for lunch and drinks. Good food and beer. Attentive service. Will be back 🍻 (I haven't stayed in the accommodation so can't comment on that).

Nice pub with reasonably priced rooms in a good location. Hot water in the shower was a bit hit-and-miss, but the furnishings were comfortable and there was a bus stop right downstairs! The area is lovely!

Not really a pub, in the true sense of the word, when throwing out families after 9 pm. Also, hygiene may be improved.

I was there in late 1975 and remember it as a real traditional English pub. I thought I would take a little trip over there to revisit some of the places I was when I lived over there in the 70s. So that you could rent rooms on the 1st floor in King William. I wrote them an email a week ago but have not received a reply. I went to their facebook page to try that route. The only comment there was a post that said: "Please respond to my e-mail" and it was 4 years old, so unfortunately I had to admit that it was a very frivolous place to try to book a room. Practice

Sunday Lunch on 30th June 2024 What a treat to enjoy Sunday lunch at the King William IV pub in Hampstead. The bar staff made us very welcome and drinks were quickly produced. The Sunday roast, pork loin in my case, was perfectly cooked and presented, the portion size enormous. My wife Barbara chose the spare ribs and was equally impressed. We cleared our plates and just about had room left for desserts. Again, fantastic presentation and ample portions, chocolate sponge cake with vanilla ice cream for me, apple pie with ice cream for Barbara. An extra bonus was a lovely chat with the pub owner the legendary Jimmy McGrath who clearly loves his pub and has gathered a wonderful group of staff around him. Special thanks to Slawek the Chef whose work behind the scenes was greatly appreciated by us. We will be going there again soon for a repeat performance.

Staff are always polite, food is great value, very nice atmosphere and surroundings.

Although we did not stay in one of the rooms, we loved the Pub! They have a great selection of beer on draught and they have a very broad menu to suit every taste. The staff was very attentive. The atmosphere was fun and casual. The regulars were very welcoming and we had a great time! Can't wait to go back again soon.

I’ve been to king williams pub and hotel numerous of times . The atmosphere is so chill and the bar staff are so polite and welcoming. I had a problem with my room once and one of the managers “Arian” helped me out immediately, such a great character. If you are around Hampstead I recommend visiting the pub on Friday or Monday as they have live music on 🙏 great pub

The pub is the perpetrator of the complete fraudulent creperie, where they take a near identical name of the original creperie, copy their menu, and quite literally try to profit off the brand the original location built. Seems like an intention to confuse people that don't know better. They pin it on trying to profit during COVID, but that's long over. . . pretty juvenile approach if you ask me

One of my fav pubs in England feels like a proper british pub decor and great to read a book newspaper in this cozy place with a nice outdoor area as well.

I have stayed there quite a few times, every one is so friendly and the owner jimmy is a real character. Always look forward to my next visit. Great location in the centre of Hampstead village Albert.

I had a pint and Fish and chips. All was good. Very well patronised.

Quaint, tasteful, friendly pub. You can have a good time here, there is good beer, very nice staff. Always great events with live music etc. Very clean and well equipped for the age of the restaurant. Some drawbacks are the rooms. These are old and small. Sufficient for undemanding people. The water pressure is terrible, there is hardly any water and the shower is ice cold or boiling hot. Not for people who are sensitive to noise, you can hear the restaurant directly below.

Superb pub close to Hampstead tube

No snobs looking down thier stinking noses at you which is quite refreshing these days for north west London one or 2 freaks so watch your personal belongings . Overall an excellent public hse

Horrible place without any water to shower, and no hot water to wash your hands!

2h wait time on food not in rush hour.A bit disappointed really. Visited because of recommendations from a friend. Just ordered a burger and a beer. After almost 1,5 hours the waitress comes to remove my empty glass and I ask if she knows how long the food is going to be. She says theres been a mix up and they are making it now. After 10 min she pops back and says they dont have more meat and if I would like something else. At this point I ask what ever is the easiest as it is getting quite late. She offers a chicken burger instead which I accept. Yet another 30 mins get by before it is cooked. A bit ridiculous at this point, especially as it is clearly made a bit rushed. Only ekstra star is for the waitress. Very nice and friendly under these circumstances. A bit of a disappointing experience.

GREAT FOOD, ALLWAYS HAVE A GOOD MEAL HERE 10 OUT OF 10 TO THE CHEF AND PUB TEAM THE DRINKS ARE A FAR PRICE TO ONE OF THE BEST IN HAMPSTEAD. THE BAR TEAM ARE JUST GREAT HATS OFF TO THEM ALL. THE HOTEL ABOVE HAS GREAT ROOMS WORTH A STAY ANYTIME.

The food is much better than average pub food

The trust of the innocent is the liar's most useful tool. I think I'm visited the famous place to eat crepe with my son, Niño jr, to have dessert with him and explain why his mother new husband is terrible man. But no, I am in a wrong place, they copied the real crepe stand beside, a deception so painful I bleed from the soul. I trust a woman, I receive pain. I trust the crepe, I receive lies. The real crepe stand is next to this, it has a queue, a french man, a smell good, a place one can trust. A place one can dream.

Very nice pub, good food and fast service.

Woman with gray short hair was rude and foolish. I have already ordered two drinks in less than two hours and she told me that I need to order to stay so I had to order a third drink. I was looking to order a meal either way in a bit but decided not to and to go somewhere else because of this. A really stupid thing to do, felt a bit racist too since I was wearing a Kuffiyeh. The landlord tried to be smart and told me that I need to order to though it is none of the old man's business and I had already ordered two drinks.

One of the highlights on my trip to London was staying in the Elizabeth room above the pub. The room was quiet with a great view into the High Street. In the evening, down below, a boisterous, family-friendly sing-along around the piano was in full swing. What a great, cozy place.

What a lovely pub, with great staff and welcoming regulars. A great selection of drinks at decent prices for London. We stayed in the Catherine room which was small but very suitable. I slept well and found the bed comfortable. It had a good view of the street. The tv wouldn't play ball, which was annoying, and I couldn't get hot water from the shower. Overall it is a great place and value for money.

The chef on sun 10th dec, was absolutely unprofessional, rude and aggressive. The roast dinner we had was dry, the vegetables were dry. Wasnt fresh at all. The head chef came out when we asked for it to be replaced. The chef kicked off. Started pointing his fingers and shouting in our faces infront of the venue. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

The pub is thoroughly likeable.

This pub locked me and a friend in the beer garden for 15 minutes We went to the beer garden and with no warning the door back in was locked When we called a friend to inform the bar we were locked out after repeated knocking the staff insisted that there was a sign on the door that the garden would bet shut. As we walked out the door was open as we didn't see the sign and they locked the door without checking if there were patrons in the garden The staff then insisted that it was our fault and were very rude

Horrible people. Destroying local businesses with their cheap imitation of a well established businesses like the crepe place next to it. Greedy so and so’s, life will come at them fast

Smashing place to stay in the centre of hampstead. Really friendly staff and clean and comfy rooms. Great access on the northern line to the heart of London is 3 minutes walk away.

Nice food (Sunday lunch), nice ambiance, pleasant service. But very dark inside, and the eating areas need to be far brighter than just candlelit. Yummy sticky toffee pudding dessert.

The food was absolutely discusting order fish and chips the food camr quite quickly to discover only the food looked like it had Been sitting on the side for a few days... I ask for the chips to be replaced when they arrived no difference to me dark greese uncooked... I then attempt to call a member of staff and demand a refund this was refused the p chef refused to come and give an appoligy this discussing food... I have never experienced such horrible food apparently the I wasn't the only one to complain... I straight away went to the chemist to take food poisoning medication in advance for myself and girlfriend. I intend to contact food hygiene company and make a formal complaint 37 pounds down the drain my advice to all customers go elsewhere to eat king William the 1V pub and rooms is definitely on my blocklist🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Lovely old atmospheric pub and a very nice friendly young lady served us. Unusually for Hampstead this pub is not up it's own backside and doesnt feel like a restaurant that just tolerates people who don't want to eat. Great interior with lots of interesting old photos on walls.

Best if not the only real pub left in Hampstead. Avoid the Holly Bush and the Flash. Both corporate rip offs.

We were treated nicely by Vendy at the pub. The hotel room was clean and the pub food was very delicious and reasonably priced. The pub was full of character. I would definitely recommend the place and will go back again next time in Hampstead!

Without a doubt, the best pub in Hampstead. Utterly unpretentious, eschews Hampstodian inflated prices and serves great food. The beer garden out the back transports you to somewhere leafy on the continent and gives you a nice break from the bustling reality of the high street. A few minutes walk from Hampstead underground (Northern Line)..

The pub used to be amazing with a great atmosphere. I spent more than 1000 pounds in 2021. It started going downhill. The manager is extremely rude. She hated me for no reason. She would ignore me and not take my order. All because one day I politely told her that I accidentally got overcharged. The atmosphere is not the same. The council set restrictions that killed the vibe. They now have a bouncer and a screen at the bar showing you what they can see, which is a put off. The drinks are average. I have stopped going there and I am sad about how it ended up being. The rude manager is the main reason. She is not a professional.

I've lived in the area (Camden) for 10 years, and this pub is my "favourite place " ( on more levels than you can count 😀). Try it, you may "go back" 😏. And thank you, lovely Iona (bar staff member) who made me think 🤔: I should share how much I "love" this place. PS: I've been visiting you 1) alone ("date with myself "), with 2) clients (best fish and chips in town), and ... 3) my "old" friends. Just sayin" 🤷 😄

Great place to meet up with old friends on a Saturday night. Good food, good live music and plenty of atmosphere. Overall it felt like a local pub where I knew everyone even though I hadn't set foot in there since the 80s!

An Amazing Pub With Amazing People

The lady behind the bar was too busy scrolling on her phone to notice me at the bar trying to gain her attention. To top it off, I was charged £30 for a Guinness, and two Jack Daniel’s and Coke. Outrageous. 1 star is being generous.

Only put the rooms as a 3 so you know what you are getting but in all fairness we were happy and really enjoyed our stay.

Came here for a few beers. It's a lovely, cosy pub.

Husband and I dropped in for a drink and a late lunch. Just wanted a small bite as we have dinner reservations. We ordered the beef ribs with coleslaw and chips washed down with a beer and a glass of rose. Loved the local vibe and the music playlist of UK music royalty and the walls covered with interesting stories of the famous an infamous. The only sour note was the chips that were both soggy and burnt beyond recognition. Really disappointing that anyone would serve this up and expect it to be acceptable.

We had a wonderful stay here, and the staff were absolutely lovely. The location is beautiful and despite the rooms being on top of the pub, it was not too noisy at all. Thank you!!

Very friendly staff and they have a lovely creperie

This "still new-to-me" pub drew us in for Thursday dinner. We were greeted very well at the bar, drinks bought and taken to the garden with menu in hand then, as promised, Jensen came to take our order and inspired confidence we'd made a good choice. After the correct wait out came our meals. Gorgeous, that's how I'd describe my Seabass Fillet meal, other half's Haddock & chips looked (as confirmed) superb too. Though I was only on lemonade, driving later, it was served with ice and lemon... this is a pub where service clearly matters. Thanks to Jensen, Chef and the team, I/we will defo go across London to visit again.

First visited in 1989. An absolute GEM of Hampstead.

Nice and cosy local pub with lots of character inside. The only flaw is the music playlist in the evening which features loud old-school hardcore dance music and ruins the atmosphere. Good if you’re a teenager looking to pull but bad if just want to enjoy a pint.

The watering hole of Leonard Cohen back in the day. Lots of interesting photos on the wall, but weirdly none of Cohen himself.

Nice pub , room is comfortable but no AC or fan. With the window open the room cools off nicely. Great central location and there is live music a few nights.

Been going there for years, the food, especially Sunday roast was great. Unfortunately last 2 times the food wasn't good. Roast lamb couldn't be chewed it was so hard. Left it and went elsewhere All 3 plates same problem! Shame won't be going there again to eat!

Love this place I always go to have a drink with my friend. Once a group of people book a table close to the piano and we had a nice live musical night. We eat the last time and we get surprised about the good quality and presentation. We always enjoy in this place. Always coming back✨

Been going to the original crepe stall since I was a kid. I honestly am shocked that you think it’s ok to open another crepe stall next to them when they have been in business since 1985. You could have thought of any food business outside your pub chips, burgers, pizza , cakes, ice cream. Why crepes?! Really hope no one buys from you and you have to close your stall as really not cool to do what you have done

Arrived at 3:45. Was told kitchen is closed. Unclear why given that the place is advertised as serving lunch till 4. Couldn’t even order a plate of chips.
