It’s such a shame the restaurant was not as full as it used to be because it’s such a nice, relaxed place to have a meal and a catch up. The food is as expected but the service is brilliant. Krina was helpful, professional and an all round star. Nothing was too much trouble and that was very much appreciated. Thank you.

Priyesh was super friendly and very helpful...... we had an issue with the menu. Imagine we were charged £5 for just 2 prawns....!!! He sorted things so we left as happy customers. Head office doing things like that just creates problems for staff!

I have visited on maybe 15 or 20 occasions and every time i get really good service. Today i was served by a gentleman named Priyesh who ive been served by on a number of occasions whom remembers my face every time. Really good food for the price and great service. I add that priyesh goes above and beyond on every visit here. I will definitly be visiting again as always. I work 40 minutes away from this location but i always choose to stay at the hotel attached to the pub due to the fact I know the quality of the food and the service I will get during my evening meal. Additionally I have never had a flat beer here which is quite odd considering lots of pubs these days serve some standard drinks.

I have given this one star only because I could not give none. In about 60 years of frequent eating out, I can say with my hand on my heart that of all the hundreds (or even thousands) of restaurants, cafes, bistros and other food outlets I have visited, the Travellers Rest in Kenton is easily far and away the worst that I have ever set foot in. I visited this place for lunch three times in January 2025 – always with friends and only because it was conveniently close to where we meet at a social organisation. On each occasion, on entering, the huge place was either empty or had, at most, three or four diners. That speaks volumes. I always look for four things when going out to eat. To start with, I like a welcome when I enter and a pleasant environment. Then there’s good service. These things are desirable rather then essential. But paramount is good food. I have to say that the Travellers Rest fails miserably on all of these counts. In comparison with this dismal venue, Fawlty Towers scores five stars. First, a pleasant environment? A huge, cold, dismal, dark, cavernous dump, which looked as though it was last decorated to celebrate the end of the Boer War. A welcome when you enter? Nobody to greet you. There’s a bar and you have to order there. Two miserable staff preside – one woman wearing a Covid mask and one man. Good service? Decidedly not. Now to the food. On my first visit, with two friends, we approached the bar, and menus were placed before us. But almost every time we ordered something, the man behind the bar picked up a pen, crossed out the item and said ‘it’s off the menu’. After several iterations of this process, we all three managed to order not what we really wanted – more like what would do as a last resort. One of my friends had said that they had previously attributed the problems to ‘a leak of ammonia at their HQ’, so they could not provide all the ingredients necessary for the menu'. ‘We were limited to what we could get locally’, the man told us. Quite how ammonia could have been present at their HQ is a mystery; if it doesn’t make sense, it’s probably nonsense. The food, when it finally arrived, was, at best, both minimalist and mediocre. The second visit was much the same, but the third, on 9th January 2025, was priceless. A friend and I turned up at about 12:15 pm. The place was just about empty, but there is a snooker table in there and two men were playing there. My friend ordered chicken curry and rice, with chutney. I ordered a steak. After about 30 minutes, the food had still not arrived. Then the waiter brought our two plates to the table. He then pointed across the room and said ‘you can get your cutlery over there’. That was the last straw for me. My friend then noted that there was no chutney and his food was cold. We walked over to the woman with the mask. I said that I objected to being told by the waiter to wander across the room for cutlery when I was being served at the table. She called her colleague over, who said that ‘sometimes we are too busy to bring cutlery'. Too busy? WE WERE THE ONLY ONES THERE! Without even touching our food, we demanded a refund. Without a word, the man went over to the counter and refunded my friend the full cost without question (as he had paid). No apology or regret. As for the missing chutney, he said ‘we don’t have any’. Presumably he had forgotten to cross it off the menu. Finally, there is a reason for all this. The staff had told us that the Travellers Rest was the breakfast venue for the Premier Inn at the rear of the building. They had complained at lunchtime about all the dozens of breakfasts they had served in the morning, and there were only the two of them to prepare and serve them, and that they were really tired. However, we had previously known that the council was in the last phase of considering a proposal to demolish the building and, guess what, authorise the building of a block of flats. The staff had told us that this would be within two years, and they would lose their jobs. So I don’t blame them for being miserable, but I do blame them for visiting their woes on their customers. Both the Travellers Rest and the Premier Inns are owned by Whitbread, who announced in April 2024 that they are to close down 126 of their less profitable restaurants to concentrate on their hotel business. There has been local opposition to the loss of this supposedly valuable part of our heritage. It dates only from 1933 so this argument is bound to fail. Much as I don’t approve of wholesale flat-building to accommodate an already excessive population, I shall be standing opposite this place applauding when the first wrecking-ball slams into it. I won’t bother to complain to the Travellers Rest or Whitbread – if they have let this once-popular venue decline to this level of decrepitude, they obviously couldn’t care less. The place is closing down anyway.

It's a KFC so you have to manage your expectations! You get what you pay for!

Food was burned overcooked and received very cold

Don’t bother ordering from this restaurant. I left a note requesting specific pieces and I also called the restaurant who advised I would need to wait longer for those specific chicken pieces to be cooked which I happily agreed to. I clearly said please make sure I receive all freshly cooked pieces as I wanted piping hot food. Unfortunately, I was sent only 3/4 pieces I requested which were all lukewarm and dry! They were definitely not freshly cooked and the they also strangely tasted bland.

The food was cold as it had been sitting around waiting to be collected.

KFC Kenton Park much better than Edgware. The items are always hot and fresh and they don't leave out items from the order unlike the KFC Edgware branch where I always have £5 worth of food missing from every ordet as they dont check before sending:). Kenton Parade staff more on the ball and have always received all items on time and good temperature. Thanks xx

Unfortunately I’m having to give this a one star review as they had most of the food items unavailable during our visit. The waitress told us the festive menu wasn’t available which is what we booked for. She actually said, let me tell you what we do have because we don’t have most of the things: No fish items, only 4 steaks left. 3 desserts and none of the main meals on the festive menu. We had to settle for chips and a few starters. The calamari and chips were over cooked, almost inedible. The place wasn’t that busy however she told us that there had been an issue with supplies over that past 2 weeks. The same thing happened this time last year.. no salmon available. We won’t be going again. The kids meal was also missing items. We had to call earlier in the day to amend the booking and that was the opportunity for them to tell us that many items were unavailable, however they didn’t mention anything about the menu. The manager is elderly and seems out of his depth. They are not serious. You can’t accept bookings when you only have 30 per cent of the menu available. Please don’t book here. Save yourself the disappointment and waste of time.

Every few wks, I meet with a good friend at the Travellers Rest. We love the relaxed atmosphere there. Parking is free- you need to enter car registration, into machine inside. We always find the staff, helpful & friendly. The manager Frank, is always very welcoming and friendly and is very hands on. The other staff are really nice too. We enjoyed our meal & always stay for a good chat. As we were leaving, we saw 2 guys clearing all the leaves away near reception & carpark area, good to see. Overall, another nice trip to the Travellers Rest. Highly Reccomended 👌🙂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely disgraceful lack of any kind of service. Went with friends this morning at 8.50am for breakfast. The restaurant was totally empty. We were approached by a member of staff. "Have you booked?" She asked. We looked around at the glaringly empty restaurant. "No we haven't." We said. "There's noone here?" "Well we're not taking walk ins sorry." No explanation whatsoever. It left us all uncomfortable and frankly shocked. Perhaps a management reshuffle is required here! Good grief.

The time changing so it looks like it wasn’t late, is annoying. I had to call the store and was told the driver had not arrived after 45minutes. I said my food would be cold and was told no they keep it hot. Literally got my food that was now like warm like it had been sitting there in the side. This is the first and last time I will be ordering from this store. Especially since it shouldn’t be cold when I live so close. Disappointing.

Really good and fresh … surprisingly … followed instructions perfectly and tasty and enjoyable.

upon receiving my food I noticed that the driver was not using a food delivery bag to keep my food warm. secondly the portion of the mini fillet and popcorn chicken was not good. the fillet looked like a flat wing and popcorn chicken box was not filled up as it should have been. I normally don't complain like this but this was very poor service by both the restaurant and the delivery driver.

The worst burger I've ever had. I've ordered from here many times before and never had a problem but this time something was totally wrong with the chicken, it was so hard and tough that it was impossible to even bite into and I had to throw it away.

We stayed at this Premier Inn over a weekend and met Eva on both nights . She served us and would highly praised her as a valuable member of the team

Staff are friendly and helpful but the food is very poor. Fairly expensive given the quality of food. My salmon was tasteless and so overcooked it was like rubber and the baby potatoes (not garlic potatoes as stated on the menu) were rock hard. I’m no chef but I could have done cooked this meal better. The decor is shabby and seats dirty. Such a shame that this was our experience.

Usually the order placed when in store is incorrect..or item is not ready..one of the worst kfc places that I have visited.

Waited for 5 minutes to be served. Saw the lady on the computer in the back office. The other worker was standing talking nearby. He was eating chicken and dipping in a sauce. Took a while to get my order made and another guy after me standing also for ages to order. Also the guy didn't look to be wearing gloves during making the order. I think they need training and make sure they always have staff attending to the front and customers.

Everyone who served us had incredible service but one person in particular I want to thank is priyesh. So helpful and kind. He even went out of his way to help me find the baby changing room and cleaned it before I used it, even though it was already clean! Such careful consideration, very happy with his service! Thank you so much will definitely come back :)

Just Eat is rubbish. The delivery man didn't deliver at all but showed delivered. Didn't collected the delivery and didn't get a refund, no one cared at all!

The chicken was really salty, never had it so salty before.

Twister had lettuce and mayo instead of the normal crunchy salad you would normally get. Was very disappointed. Nice portion of chips instead of what you get in most KFC’s which is normally just a handful.

We did not have a booking so did not know if we would be allowed to eat. But the manager, Frank, greeted us at the entrance and immediately put us at ease. He passed us over to a colleague who took us to the restaurant area. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, taking care they understood how we wanted our food done. Frank came around later to inquire everything was to our liking. The food arrived in good time and tasted just right. Generous portions too. For a pub/restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to see the staff fuss over us as if it were a fine dining restaurant. Premium service at a reasonable price. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely Terrible Experience at KFC Kenton Rd** If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a fast food restaurant. I waited an unbelievable **20 minutes** for a simple bucket of 10 pieces of chicken. During this time, I watched multiple other customers receive their orders, while mine was completely forgotten. The service was excruciatingly slow, and the staff seemed utterly disorganized and indifferent to the growing crowd. How hard is it to hand over a bucket of chicken? Apparently, at this KFC, it’s a monumental task. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. This place doesn’t care about its customers, and it shows. Avoid at all costs!

Stayed at the Premier Inn and used the Beefeater for Breakfast and evening meals.Staff were amazing and helpful considering the restrictions faced.Half the food & drink menu was unavailable. The Beefeater needs some serious TLC. Leaking radiators in the restaurant,no seats on the male toilets and in serious need of repair and a clean.piles of bricks lying around the outside. Full of weeds,unlevel slabs,rotten window frames.The building looks seriously tired and dated. Major investment required!

First appearances it was old, tired and dirty! Mentioned the set menu and was told it’s only Monday to Friday where I then produced so many emails from beefeater stating it’s now run on a Saturday too! The lady said no and spoke to her manager who came over and said well you can have it or you can eat off the main menu! His attitude was odd plus if beefeater are emailing constantly about it they should surely know that the set menu has been extended. After the look of the place and the way we were treated we decided to eat somewhere else. Sadly would not recommend this place to anyone.

The restaurant is really run down and dirty. Had to ask the waitress to change my chair as it was stained. We requested a meal from the Sunday dining menu (it was a Sunday)as was told that it wasn’t available and the waitress (Eva)took the menu out of my husband’s hand!!?? Then she said that the management were not going to serve any cocktails…reason??? None given. I wanted to order the steak sampler and was told that there was no fillet steak…(not surprising, considering the calibre of this restaurant!)I asked if I could just have another sirloin steak to replace it…Eva said management said ‘no’. She kept apologising all through the service and kept saying ‘I am trying my best’! Ok…so I order just the sirloin steak and my husband had the surf and turf…the steaks were barely lukewarm…when we complained, Eva said ‘it was because we ordered our steaks medium rare, that was the reason why it was cold’???? Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!! As if we have never eaten a steak in our lives!!! Taking us for complete fools!! So ignorant and rude! They cook their steaks from FROZEN…enough said! Cheek!! I asked for a glass of water, but didn’t receive it…the glasses looked dirty anyway, so that was fine. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough…I wrote to complain twice…no reply. We will never go to another Beefeater restaurant again…PLEASE do not visit this place if you enjoy decent food and service…horrible experience!

Great service staff very attentive

I always order from this place and experienced minor order mistakes. I used to ignore it but recently the missing items in my order happened more than twice. I am not sure why this happens but they always(2 times) forget my large gravy. Today they went extra mile and also has some fault(odd smell and colour) in original KFC chicken. I just love KFC but KFC doesn’t seem to love customers or take care of their franchise holders.

Depending on the staff you either get good service or poor. Too many times when my presents his student beans discount, some staff do not offer the popcorn chicken snack box. So if you don’t know, they just let you go without. But another set of staff given to you without asking.
