Now our fifth time there, always an excellent selection of food to meet different taste and dietary requirements. We look forward to our Christmas meal laterin the year. I wish to David and the rest of his team for everything. Thank you

My husband and I ate here twice while staying at the very nearby caravan site on holiday. I'd recommend you book a table as it's certainly a popular place to eat. The service was good, the food home cooked and delicious and the atmosphere very pleasant. Oh ...... and thus place is dog friendly, so what's not to like! X

This is the second year we have visited here whilst staying at the Moreton caravan club site. We pre booked due to enjoying our food last year. We dined on Friday and once again the food was fantastic. Between us we had the fish and chips, the ploughmans, pork belly and lamb with a variety of tomatoes and feta. All were delicious 😋 We are looking forward to Sunday lunch there. Dog friendly too :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Visited as a party of 5, 2 of which were children and 2 vegetarian. Food was fantastic and prices very reasonable for the quality. Service was also great. Would recommend 🤩

Solo traveler only here for a day and needed to kill some time before hotel check in and relax after a long hot walk to the arboretum and back. Every staff member was just lovely, and the roasted chicken breast was phenomenal. I think it’s obvious I’m an American tourist, but they treated me the same as the locals and I always appreciate that. 10/10 recommend, and get the chicken!

Our first time in Moreton so unsure what would suit our extended age range family group. This pub was a great choice for us. Our table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived so we ordered drinks at the bar. No sooner did we have them than we were shown to our table in a separate dining room. The staff were friendly and eager to please. The menu was comprehensive and reasonably priced. Most of us had chips with our main course and they were amazing. Piping hot and very moreish. A great experience and we’ll definitely go back when we are next in the area.

Sunday roast was amazing. Very tasty, HOT, large portions, and reasonable price. I booked a table the night before for five of us, and was not disappointed. The Sunday roast was a proper British roast dinner with yorkshire pudding and fresh vegetables and plenty of them. All the food was fresh and hot which is hard to find these days in many eating places. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the ladies serving the food were very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. Wine was very reasonably priced and nice range too. This was our 3rd visit to this lovely pub and we weren't disappointed. The food and service were, again, impeccable, and the stand out dish was the amazing pork fillet. It's a lovely, warm atmosphere, with excellent and attentive staff. We will make it our regular meet up when we come from Warwick and Uley respectively!

As we did not know what to expect, we were a tad underwelmed, at first. The Pump beer selection was sopump beers so.. The Menu was safe, But still a nice choice The Best surprise was trying the Arbour Beer they sell, Which is many times better than the pump beers All in the food was very nice,,,, Spot on for a pub Plus reasonable prices

I was so grateful for the lighter vegetarian stuffed pepper dish on the menu, it was one of my favorite dinners during our week’s stay in Moreton-in-Marsh. My family members had the pork chop and the beef pie and equally enjoyed them. Service was a bit inattentive and impatient when they did come, and they wouldn’t allow us the window table we preferred even though we had made our reservation long in advance and it stayed empty quite awhile (maybe the whole time we dined actually).

We have been coming to this family run pub for ten years now.We stay on the local Caravan Club site and always go to the Black Bear for a meal and also to meet Dave the owner Dave his son and chef and Dave the bar man (what characters).I will also say that the food is amazing but also seems to get better and better.Andy and Wendy

A large-ish group (16) descended on the pub at lunchtime for drinks and food. We were warmly welcomed and nothing seemed too much trouble! The beer was excellent and the food was good. We had an enjoyable time! Thank you, Black Bear!

Excellent meal, best beef and ale pie I have ever had, wife loved her pork chop. Staff very friendly and good atmosphere as all tables taken even though it was a Saturday lunch time. Moreton in Marsh has many eating places but very pleased chose the Black Bear based on previous reviews.

We love this pub and had a big family meet up and lunch. The staff are always incredibly friendly and we were all seated with drinks very smoothly. The scotch eggs were a wow ! All suitability impressed, we had a lovely time, so nice to catch up. Will be back.

Another visit to one of our favourites. The actual restaurant was not open so we ate in the large bar area which has quite a small bar - so more a restaurant with a bar than a traditional pub. However, there were a few locals propping it up and keeping an eye on the diners most of whom appeared to have walked from the nearby camping site! The menu was brief which fits in with our belief that is better to cook a small number of dishes well than a large number badly! Our party had absolutely no complaints with the service, the food, its cooking or the quantity! All were top quality. Well worth a visit when in town or camping!!

Terrific pub food. Of the best I've had. And dog friendly. Win win situation. The Pie and the braised short ribs were ridiculously good.

Ate here twice as it was in easy walking distance of our caravan site. Always busy, bottles not all crammed together which is good. Dog friendly with space at the table area for our dogs to be comfortable. We had (on both visits) the scotch egg to start, freshly made, warm with tasty good quality sausage meat and an oozy soft egg - delicious. The Todenham beef and ale pie was warming and the beef melted in the mouth and the battered haddock tasted fresh and light. Really enjoyable food with friendly service. Would recommend

Perfect Pie every time. 🖤 The Black Bear in Moreton will always be no.1 in our books. Our boxer dog Hank is also well looked after with a couple of tasty treats.

Very busy serving pub food menu. Good quality & portions, adequate choices & nice fresh vegetables . Friendly welcome, decent range of drinks at reasonable prices. Probably best to book a table , all restaurants in Moreton in Marsh get busy in evenings .

Great for a casual meal sitting in the bar/ lounge area. Can get noisy when busy. Good service and excellent food. We had fish cakes in mustard sauce and steak and ale pie, both served with ample fresh veg and the best chips ever. Plenty of parking close by in the village

Although the restaurant wasn't open, we ate in the Bar. The Bar is really set up for those eating, with lots of tables well spread out. The service was very good as was the food - and it was all very reasonably priced. Warm and cosy pub on the high Street

We visited for Sunday lunch with family, everyone was very pleased with what they ordered. The pork belly roast was absolutely superb - flavours and quantities of food all perfectly balanced, with vegetables on the side, appealing to veg dodgers like my husband! I’m told the fish and chips was equally good. Service was also fantastic - really recommend this place!

Could not fault anything..Best meal in years of tasting pub meals ..had the scotch egg with chilli sauce which was light and the best I've tasted Mrs had broccoli soup best she has tasted main was steak and ale pie with was superb flackey pastry was brilliant..staff were so attentive would give 10 stars if able

Disappointed after all the great reviews. The beer was excellent but the food was barely average pub grub. The prawn starter was drowned in an over salted , rather strange sauce. The steak in the pies was a very lowly, fatty quality.

Excellent meal here at a very welcoming pub. We both had the beef ribs, one with mash one with chunky chips, it was delicious. Staff were attentive but not too in your face. Pub had a good busy vibe with a lovely welcoming fire. I would highly recommend if you are in the area. £50 for a meal for 2, 3 drinks and a pudding.
