Not been for a while and went last week and got the fright of my life £9.99 for a Chinese and £10.99 if you want fried rice as a side won't be going back there loss. 🤬🤬

It's a nice chippy but ridiculously expensive I mean 25 pound for 2 meals and sui mi is ridiculous, I'm not sure how they justify the pricing

We decided to get some Chinese after a day at the Knowsley Safari, this was a good choice.

Always good food, I’ve ordered a wide variety and everything has been fine.

Called in today 23th may 2.45pm got kebab meat and chips got home the chips weren't very nice all bits the meat wasn't to bad sorry won't be calling back ( have they been taken over ? ) as it was lovely

Fair prices for food, S+P wings very nice . There is a diverse menu chinese, english kebabs and burgers so something for everyone . They also offer meal deals during the day.

Is there a new cook? Spent £45 and everything we ordered had no flavour. The salt and pepper chicken had no seasoning at all. It was like they had forgotten to add it when cooking. It just tasted like battered chicken. The prawn toast had a weird taste to it and the satay noodle box was dry and tasted of nothing.

Oh dear!! Been coming here since 1987! Ordered fish and chips with peas curry sauce and gravy and pudding dinner! Pudding dinner has no peas any more! And chips were bloody abysmal like warm ups! Oh well! Shame!! Just lost a near 40 year customer 👏

What a find on the outskirts of Blackpool.Fantastic food ,value for money compared to Scottish chippies.The staff are incredible.( She told me to say that)Cannot praise this place any higher as simply go for yourself to get the best frm the best.No wonder its award winning.

I don't usually eat out, but every now and then I go with my friend to grab a bite. It's always nice and we never had any problems.

Went to the so called big chippy yesterday evening. They took my order of chips,fish and peas. Stood by the counter waiting for 15 minutes while people came in and got there phone orders all around me. The woman who took my simple order left it where she wrote it down forgot all about it I questioned it and the look of horror on her face,I was fuming. So eventually got served and it was the worstchips and fish I have ever had for along while. Chips tasted like warmed up ones fish batter was well overdone. Disgusting for an £8 meal no patch on the old big chippy who had it before these new owners.

This is a really good fish and chip and Chinese shop does all Chinese food and fish and chips related would definitely recommend

Does not have an accessible entrance and staff ignored me. If you can get in then the food is quite good but small portions and expensive. Better fish and chips further down the road at Yuan's.

Last 3 times they have got the order wrong

I asked for 2 lightly battered fish and was told by the cook he had just done 2 when I got home the we're in a terrible state obviously not cooked when said he obviously lied terrible service put them in the bin that's was Wednesday 8.00 pm 13/09/2023

Great place and very busy, so if you can phone through your order. Staff were lovely, and the food was great and plenty of it. I can't recommend anything because it would be doing it a disservice. Everything I have had has been as equally goog.

Used to be great.. Great fish worth the wait, but went down hill on portions and management change.

Food and service have been really good when we have been recently.

Used this chippy for 30 years, after tonight won't use again, put in order and waited nearly half an hour as it was busy, when asked how long to wait for my meal I was told by the employee who served me that I did not order from him, basically calling me a liar, but it was his arrogance that p@#!%d me off, and I wasn't the only customer. Lost a long time customer.

Good food, great fish (in large and small), just wish they did teriyaki noodle boxes. They use recyclable card boxes for non-chinese meals, but the chips always feel a bit on the cool side by the time you get them home compared to other chippies (anyone else find this ?). You can't get a small sausage dinner.

A mate of mine recomended this place - we never go anywhere else for fish and chips now - lovely food

This was one of our best chippy reviews on Merseyside, we would without doubt recommend the Big Chippy, we had a very tasty fish and chips with some of the best mushy peas we've tasted in a long time and their chicken omelette was to die for. Just been to this chippy and came a long way for a really bad experience. At first it was ok, a bit confusing were to stand and felt like we were jumping the queue, a man took our order and when it was being packed up we asked if they could put S&V on the chips. omg you would think we’d ask the girl for something major. The look she gave us was disgusting. Then we said there was a drink on the order her reply was “yeah I will get it after”. I’ve worked in enough customer facing roles that you can’t have an attitude, you have to be polite and it costs nothing to smile at people. Unfortunately they got the order wrong as well but after travelling so far we just couldn’t be bothered to go back and won’t be going back there anymore. The attitude of the young girl in there has definitely put me right off. I think the management need to have a serious talk to there staff.

Had a special fried rice just tasted like fried rice chicken and ham can't see what special about that no flavour no onions tiniest prawns nothing special

Sorry to say amid all the good reviews but I got salt and pepper chicken.and I think it must have been reheated numerous times as the batter? was hard and chewy ...never ordered this before from here ..and will never order it again..

Best chippy in the area by far. Always fresh ingredients and tastes amazing. As for parking, I usually park in the old kwik save car park and then cross the road. Only thing I would say is there needs to be clear signage for new customers, to say they need to wait on opposite side of the chippy once they have ordered, otherwise they are walking round like headless chickens getting in the way of the order/pick up counter.

Great chippy. Ribs are better then any Chinese I have been too. The noodle boxes are delicious aswell 😋 they have a Chinese chef so great for Chinese food. The traditional chippy food is good aswell! Can't complain

I have been this Chippy a few times now. I went the other night at 9 45 pm and was told the chef is finished cooking which I found really poor service as the place doesn't close till 10pm

Popped in for a quick bite after Enchanted at Knowsley. Great selection, covering both Chinese and “proper” Chippy and thankful they have English gravy not the kind these Chinese Chippy crossovers use 👍 Good chips, superb gravy, battered sausage was only a small one but did the job. The recycles cardboard trays are poor though, soggy by the time we got 5 minutes down the road.

Recently had Sweet and sour chicken,Beef Green Pepper and Black Bean sauce,Kung Po Chicken,Special Singapore Vermicelli,all with fried rice,Fruity Curry,and large chips £35.All the food is exceptional.Always big queues at peak times but you dont wait long.Good job it's open from 11am til 10p.m every day.Up there with the best Chinese takeaway we have ever had.The Fish are good too but they don't beat Minas in Widnes.

Good portions of decent sized fish and chips, very tasty. Came here recently and was expecting a long wait but lots of staff working and I was quickly served. Good quality take away. I'm tempted to try something else from the menu, but always end up ordering fish and chips, never disappointed!

Best chippy in Prescot. I live local and tried other chippies but this one is 5 star. The fish & chips are gorgeous. One of my favourites is the spam fritters. Yummy!

We were down from Scotland for a few days, stayed at a hotel where the food wasn't great. Glad we tried here. Food was excellent.

Just got cod ? And chips. Chips were the bits of potato I throw away. Cod? Was dry and flavourless and batter was wet and non existent. Used to be reasonable. Now, will never go there again. Don't start me on price of £7.00 for rubbish. Had to give it a star to have my say. -3 stars

We have tried many things now over the last few years but our go to is Crispy Chilli Chicken Salt & Pepper Ribs Fried Rice Large Chips. 10/10 The fish and chips is always spot on! Always a good size and the batter is delicious!!

Happy with food but was given wrong fish cake

I used to love freshly made chips and mushy peas. My recent visit to this establishment I ended up with re-heated dry chips. I tried one and then binned them. I also ordered a meat pie, ended up with meat and potato. On my latest visit I ordered Beef Chow Mein. After a quick taste this also ended up in the bin. I'm not a fussy eater, just want what I order. This place is just a money making racket pretending to serve good food.

Asians cannot do fish and chips .chips were scrappy .and the batter on the sausage was not batter was dough

Been eating from here for a while now, normally great quality fish and chips, although last night very disappointed, chips were cold and rock hard, both pieces of fish were awful, batter over greasy and very hard , the fish was dried out not a good experience at all Cheers Richie
