Food was bland and tasteless soup like dish water, needless to say will never use again, all meals went in bin what a waste of money!!!!!

Curry beef absolutely vile, no taste of curry just all salt. Seriously couldn’t eat it. Egg fried rice tasteless & chips mixed bag, first one looked crispy tasted like cardboard. Binned

I ordered a large chips with curry on and they gave me a small one with a dribble of curry on and the fat woman with a cap on was rude and I was stood there for 15 mins

I went for the beef mushroom with boiled rice and I have to say it was fantastic loads of tender beef and plenty of mushrooms, the sauce was well flavoured accompanied with carrot spring onions and onions. I'll certainly be going back. Mr J. Murphy

Ordered salt and pepper chicken wings over the phone. Phone order was quick and easy. Collected my order 15 minutes later. Wings were very tasty and portion size was good. Can't find fault so I'll definitely be returning...

Food was so nice had bit of a wait for what i wanted but was worth it.

Took way too long to arrive and delivery driver sat in the car whilst I waited for my already late food! Food certainly not worth the wait, blander than bland! Will never use again and would advise others to use their last resorts first b4 this place!!

Food took well over an hour an 20 mins for basic chip shop scoff! Salt n pepper were great but was missing 2 of them! Chip curry n rice ( something ya can't really mess up?) Was bland as cardboard! If you can avoid this place an go with your last resort!!

Just started to go back to this particular takeaway, as I was disgusted with my usual one, Great menu choice, Superb food quality, Cracking service, This needs a visit, honestly.

Came to pick up my take away on Friday the chippy was so so busy all the staff was working at this busy time making sure all the orders were going out plus sorting the front shop out too I got my take away brought it home an it was amazing lovely an hot an delicious I would recommend this chippy I’ll be back in no Time thank you so much a everyone at food for thought ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered on the app and it was accepted, had to ring them up after over an hour of waiting, staff said it's out next, been another 40 minutes since her saying that !!! If u want food to be delivered then don't bother, they are constantly late and 2 hours is unacceptable for a pizza and a Chinese meal !!! Ordered food 1 meal 1 large fried rice large curry and fish and chips we get everything apart from fish and chips.. Also informed them I wanted to pay by card they didn't send the card machine so for a order I have had to call 3 times and noe everyone's eating apart from me

An hour and 30 minutes later, still haven’t received my order. There is no feast for all ordered, just spare ribs and salt & pepper chips. Unless someone’s gone to pick the potatoes I’m wondering how on Earth this has taken so long. This isn’t the first time but now it’s time to swap takeaway places

went out for some food with the family , I order a burger and chips and it was all going fine lovely waiters lovely place etc until I found a red hair in my hair and I’m blonde so certainly wasn’t mine! and I asked if I could have refund or new food and the waiter replied saying ‘’if you don’t like it then get out’’ but other then that it was ok but has kinda put me of going there but heyho!

Not sure why she said she had put salt and vinegar on me chips didnt ask me I had to ask her after she had already wrapped them but they were tasteless and 100% not seasoned. Shame been lookin forward to trying this place. Thumbs down won't be stopping again.

One of the best chip shops in Kirkby. When I lived in Kirkby I use to eat here regularly and I enjoyed the chips so much that sometimes I’d eat here twice a week. I recommend the kebabs by Alex he’s very good at what he does.

Went into the shop to order. The staffs attitude was not at all friendly when i asked for a simple favour. The guy doing the kebabs also was not at all friendly and i had to ask him to put the salad on!! The food was genuinly disgusting. The chips were cold and not at all nice and the chicken was also not at all nice. We eneded up throwing it all in the bin and having beans on toast instead!! What a totsl waste of money!!

Its only average in my book. Curry is good but the pizza dough is snide. Put some garlic in the dough why don't you 😜

Absolutely love this place . Just started using them on the app , an will continue to use them . Quick delivery , the food is always hot and lovely , and you get loads. Always enough for me to take work next day . Great place knocks spots of the last place we used . Cheers lads .

Ordered online, food arrived cold an hour later . Sui Mai’s where cold like they just took them out the fridge. Noodles tasted like flour. Salt pepper chips cold. Hot and sour soup disgusting like dish water with 2 prawns . NEVER ORDERING AGAIN FRON THERE . Not worth 1 star .

Been here quite a few times now ,it's probably one of Kirkby's better chippy's . It's a well appointed chippy,spotlessly clean ,glass fronted serving bar showcases the goodies on offer ,it's a place that offers a big range of meals. Latest visit here was February ,been at Liverpool Beer Festival all day the pubs in Liverpool City Centre ,jumped train down to Kirkby and before ending the night in The Railway Pub we bought a bag of chips each,service quick,price great value for money ,we munched our chips outside the pub which were delicious ,all in all a good visit,the chippy's easy to locate along Glovers Brow .

Food For Thought is a brilliant chip-shop in Kirkby that offer a very good range of food and is the best chip-shops in Kirkby. This place is directly across the road from the Railway pub and is hard to miss.I don't normally have meals from chip-shops but if I do I always come here. This place is really clean and tidy and they offer well priced meals and drinks and was the last place we visited on a day out. We had been at the beer festival and then we went around town and ended up in the Railway pub but once we had had enough we went here for a few bags of chips which were superb and well priced.This is a very good chip-shop and is very easy to locate from Kirkby train station it's a few minute's walk.(This is my second review of Food For Thought). The chips are the worse I have ever tasted, I am sure they have been reheated from lunchtime. I will definitely not go to this chippy again and would advise you go elsewhere.

Ordered food online to be delivered it took over 1hr an 30 minutes to get delivered an it was all cold when it got here. Why dose it take so long when you can pick it up within 20 minutes plus the chicken breast was not cooked properly as it was still pink in the middle not the first time that this has happened will not be ordering from here again

After a great day out visiting some of the fantastic pubs in Liverpool my twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the train down from Liverpool to Kirkby were we enjoyed some delicious pints of guinness in The Railway Pub, getting close to closing time we decided to call it a night and pop across the road and buy a bag of chips each,track and traced,we got a large portion each ,served in no time at all by a very pleasant member of staff ,we luckily caught the bus straight away to whisk us home were we enjoyed our chips which were absolutely delicious, thick cut ,salt and vinegar and great value for money, in my opinion this is the best chippy in Kirkby, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Glovers Brow .

Horrible chippy, sent us left over chips because they couldn't be bothered doing more at the end of the night, order large chips got a handful with horrible super oily and crispy chips, rang up and the woman with a bad attitude that Cleary knows nothing about customer service said that's the "new" potatoes they had what a lot of bs, I asked her to send replacement and she said she couldn't because they are closing now which confirmed exactly my point that she gave us left overs and couldn't be bothered making more. will never order from them again, woman did not want to resolve the problem, I asked for a refund and she said fine pass the chips back to the driver. Ordered a delivery, after an hour called them to be told it was with the driver, still hadn't arrived after hour and a half so called them back and was told it was with the driver again so I said OK, after 2 hours I called back only to be told they were only just making it so I told the her to cancel the order, buyer beware.

Decent local chippy but they have obviously been sold some '21st century dream menu system'. Every other chippy in my whole life ever has had static menus, maybe four or five of them high up on the walls, depending on the size of the menu (English/Chinese/Greek). This place used to have the same but tonight I turned up to just three digital boards that changed roughly every ten seconds. So you don't even have time to find roughly what you want before all the boards fade out and everything appears again on different boards. It's like some Krypton Factor challenge. Sorry but I won't be back until you stop buying technology that alienates customers.

I cant speak about the meals but bought chips and sausage out of here before, chips were swimming with grease and were pale and soggy after trying to root through to find some that were decent, i was unsuccessful and they went in the bin. Few months later give them another chance as it might have been a one off again chips were white and soggy so just eat the sausage and was ill the next day. Some people dont mind it but me and a few others its just never agreed with us

Had a selection of Chinese food tonight and it must be the worst quality of food we have ever tasted. I would not recomend anyone to eat there food.

Salt n pepper chips yes, curry rice n chips no and deconstructed kebab just weird, if I wanted to make my own kebab and then add a load of water to it from the not drained lettuce I’d have stayed at home. The other parts of the menu are great, it’s clean and the staff are brilliant just let down by two oddly constructed dishes.

Absolutely disgusting! Meals are horrid, always comes with something extra in my meal I DID NOT REQUEST ( Hair/Plaster/nail ) there chips are ALWAYS burnt rice is sharp! Sausage are black and kids can't get there teeth into them, expensive for the state they give the food in!! I always wonder why people recommend this chippy but have now realised it's surrounded by pubs so drunken folk run over and get a grub when your drunk you don't have a clue or even care what your eating! I'd never let my dog eat there foods it shouldn't even be standing!

They have a very large selection of menus for snacks, lunch, dinner or night time ranging from english to chinese. Very good value.

I ordered for the first time from this so called fast food premises, which has a rating of 5 out of 6, And after half an hour they delivered my food, which consisted of chicken chow mein. And salt & pepper chicken pieces, I paid the pleasant gentleman, and proceeded to open the food I had bought, To my astonishment. It looked more like something you wud see in a baby's nappy, and after the 2 forkfulls I had dared myself to taste, confirmed my initial worries, as I work in the food industry in Liverpool city centre, is what gave me my initial astonishment, I wud seriously recommend you do not buy food from this establishment, because from my initial experience and then to my confirmation, it is nothing more than a liberty taking, woefully substandard business .

My steak pie, chips,and peas were very tasty. Delivery was fast. I would definitely order from here again.
