I went in to use the toilet as I was desperate and am disabled, explained that to the lady working behind the bar she explained to me it’s customers only, and I could not go in I only went there as it was the nearest toilet she made me pay for me and my friend to both use the toilet and would not let me go to the toilet before buying anything.

My friend and I both ate here today and the Lasagne was amazing! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again, the next time we are in Birmingham! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Avoid at all costs. Pub was extremely unhygienic. Better off at wetherspoons.

Great food, big portions and fantastic prices

This is a classic English pub, mostly frequented by locals. Breakfast is a great value and the cheapest around. Dinner is also very reasonable and high quality. I recommend having one of the dinner pies. They come with chips (done to perfection), peas, and salad or as a dinner with potatoes and vegetables on the side. Big portions.

Home cooked: a soup from a tin, a tomatoes from a tin, 100years expired frozen bread from Aldi, instant custard, supermarket onion rings and chips too that have gone throught the frier at least 8 times. Garlic bread is a fabricated mass from supermarket too with some margarine, has never even seen garlic... The freshest thing overhere is probably the fried egg.

Service was rubbish, no extra staff knowing 8000 away fans passing the door from 4.00pm till 8.00

I went in their yesterday had to pay by card, the lady behind the bar asked me to type my pin in, instead of a touch payment which was odd because i could see on the device was clearly capable and halfway through i realised i was typing in a money order instead of my actual pin number and of course stopped as soon as i noticed, i was almost fleeced out of a fair chunk of change i cannot afford and immediately asked for a receipt, which i got. If that was an honest mistake that's ok but when i got a second drink the card machine miraculously worked with the touch payment. I checked with my bank because I didn't trust this place and luckily i was ok or i would have been seeking legal advice. Long story short, avoid.

Hadn't been here for a few years, so we popped for a quick drink, we'll it was like we never left, great friendly people lot's of laughs and we stayed longer than we expected, brought back some great memories

We love this place food is amazing atmosphere amazing rooms fab and staff fab we come here once in a while to get away (we live 25 mins away) 😀 going to make it every month xx

I'm not one to normally complain, but Extremely rude staff. Was refused entry to the toilets because apparently "I wasn't a customer" even though I finished my drink there and was heading to the toilet before I left. Try to avoid the fat blonde hag if you unfortunately find yourself in this pub.

Me and my husband stayed here for bed and breakfast. Lovely tidy, clean room, nice hot shower, tea, coffee facilities in room. Gorgeous full English breakfast included. Highly recommended 👌

Popped in for food with friends portions very generous presented well on the plate and hot every plate was delicious will diffinately be coming back.Regards to the chef and it was as all served with a smile 👍

First time here, blown away. Fed the family for £35 Portion sizes were large, all freshly cooked. Proper pub grub! Staff are lovely and very helpful!

WOW, WOW & WOW. Amazing fish & chips with salad, peas and tartare sauce. Fantastic value and clearly cooked by someone that truly cares along with a craicing pint of Guinness.

Great pub. Fantastic home cooked food, simply done at a reasonable price. No gastro gimmicks here but serving traditional foods such as steaming hot Irish stew or traditional dinners are highly recommended. Food is mostly served to diners in the quiet lounge area to the rear but you can also eat in the bar if you wish. Five stars, order with confidence!

What a great pub. Great atmosphere and brilliant, well priced food. Definitely worth checking out and having a pint in their cosy lounge. There aren't they many pubs like this any more so get in there!

Went here after the game. It was busy but service was good. Good selection of beers and the food looks really good. Wasn't enough room to sit and eat at the time.

Didn't eat but the food did look and smell great. Drinks were well priced, even the babycham and brandy chaser !!

I have been for food at this establishment I think the chef does amazing food recommendations to all my friends and family please give my thanks to Danielle as the food she cooked was amazing and to my standard me and my family will be back again soon

Stumbled upon this pub after leaving Golf Fang and heading back to the train station. A great little pub that has been well decorated whilst keeping the old features and the old feeling of nostalgia this pub brings you. Decent priced drinks, friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere. What's not to love!

Proper old city centre boozer. Brummie Irish; you wouldn't mess with the barmaids; you certainly don't get an American-style "Hey! How are you?" but you get treated well. Great pub food menu, real food and massive portions. Good Guinness.

Basic, spit and sawdust sort of place

I didn’t eat here, but they allowed me to use their toilets before my coach journey and they were spotless. Much appreciated as I hate using the loo on coaches. I’ll definitely return, but for food and drinks and spend more than a penny. 😅🙏

Great little pub, with nice friendly staff, made to feel welcome and prices are quite cheap considering it's 5 minute walk from the town center

Nice warm friendly pub, visited on a rainy Wednesday afternoon not expecting a great deal on a very slow day. Warm welcome and most impressed with the food, I had a homemade cheese burger and my friend the scampi. Both came with excellent handmade chips and attention to detail. Well worth a visit, good menu with specials and plenty of choice.

My colleagues and I visited here on a whim, as it's by the coach station. The staff were lovely, the barmaid was beyond accomodating and the chef, I shook that guys hand and gave him a hug... they cooked for 7 of us on short notice, got everything spot on. The portion sizes were huge... And the food in this pub has no business being as DELICIOUS as it was. My boss actually commented that he'd happily get the bus back to Birmingham just to eat here and then get the bus back.

Popped in literally for one drink before a concert at the Institute almost next door; friendly straight forward staff, nice traditional pub, would pop in again if passing. Cheers!

Great traditional Victorian pub in Digbeth, convenient for coach station, comfortable back bar, Guinness better than Dublin.

Lovely old pub great drink selection. Massive menu with lots of specials. Good clean accomoidation. Excellent function room at the rear, perfect for any occasion.

Lovely room, very big and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Large bathroom with great shower. Breakfast was huge and tasty. Would definitely stay again. Next door to the 02 institute. Only a 10 minute walk from New Street Station.

If I could give zero stars I would ... Very rude staff and still waiting on a refund nearly a week later..

A nice and quiet pub, perfect for a few pints with friends.

A basic but classic Victorian public house which was conveniently located next door to a music venue I was visiting. So, a great value for money Steak and Guinness pie was sandwiched between a few pints of IPA and cider. Excellent service, a good range of drinks in a clean and convivial environment. If in the neighbourhood again I’d definitely return.

Very funny experience in here with a geyser who thought that Bruce Willis sang When you say nothing at all by Ronan Keating. What a head in the bag. Beep beep beep.

Wow the fish finger sandwich was lush, reasonably priced and my cup of tea was lovely, they have a nice little nook room at the back to escape the rest of the pub. Great place.

Called in for lunch before heading back to Bristol. Lovely, original style old pub, lovely seating area in the lounge too. Ordered the Sunday Turkey lunch and the food was delicious. Lovely and hot as you would expect. Can’t fault this little corner pub, it’s atmosphere is great and the staff are lovely too…. We will call back here when we’re in the area again. Thank you for our lovely lunch before our long journey home.

What a lovely surprise. Just walking past and ...... a proper pub. Great landlady, beer, then I had some awesome lamb chops, good chat with locals, all the time some great 2 tone & reggae going off. Loved it - will be back. They don't do pubs like this anymore. Thanks G

Good time had by all. Good food in the evening and breakfast. Helpful staff. Great atmosphere in the bar. Next visit it'll be a room at the back. O2 institute next door where we went to a gig. Parking round the corner, booked online, 20hrs £3.50. What more could you want!

Birmingham city centre pubs how they used to be. Friendly, Homely, Good value, great Guiness- amazing mixture of Irish hospitality and vintage reggae and ska music. What's not to like? My only regret? Not getting in earlier in the evening!

This place have No standards. Loud rude shouting from the staff, dirty rooms with No heating in the bathroom. If you have allergies stay away from This place. Food is not for vegans or those who dont like a fatty start of the day. Maybe the worst place I have stayed in. Switched to a hotel the day after

Great place for a drink. Friendly staff, landlady was lovely. Wide range of drinks for a good price. Stayed for a good few hours before a gig at the O2 next door. DJ playing on Friday night. 100% recommend

This place is absolutely brilliant. The food is amazing, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are so welcoming. They had a couple of DJs on in the evening - one in the bar playing mostly northern soul and one in the back bar playing house music. Everyone was having a great time and the atmosphere was really friendly. We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Birmingham.
