Ordered a chicken dish to take out. Bit into the first big piece of chicken and it was uncooked. Threw that away and tried another piece which was also not quite cooked through so ended up having to throw it all. Not much veg and sauce was oily. Menu said £12, when I went to pay the lady thrust the card reader Infront of me and I couldn't see the screen. It wasn't till later after I had left it popped up I had been charged £13.20. If the extra charge was to take away and not eat in it should have been mentioned but it's not normally the case the pay more to take out. In all left feeling ripped out and disappointed. Portion size was ok not that I got chance to have any.

This place is inside a food court, there are some seating available, shared with other eateries, but it was so busy the first time I was there I just ended up having 2x lunch takeaways over the weekend I was in the area for an event. My hotel was only a minute's walk away. They serve genuine Hong Kong "tea restaurant" style cuisine, in a variant where the sauce is quite watery including their curries. This isn't necessarily appreciated by all patrons, as you see in other reviews. I have no issues with it. I didn't like the veggie currie enough that I'll come back for it (100% fixable by adding tofu chunks instead of puffs), but the egg foo yong was gorgeous. All good is advertised to be MSG-free. It cost an extra pound to have fried rice instead of rice, and another 30p for take out. The fried rice was so good, the 'wok hei' was excellent yet none of it was burnt! Great make up of the egg to rice ratio as well. The free can of juice definitely adds to the feel-good factor. I waited about 10 to 15 minutes for my food to be ready each time. Service was good - I did order in Cantonese though, I didn't stay long enough to see if there are significant language barrier issues. Veggie options are very limited. Though definitely come here with your omnivore friends.

The satay chicken balls were okay, but none of the staff praised it for being so delicious and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The second place couldn't praise it as much. The fresh tomato and pork chop rice is really delicious. . . . Even though the pork chop was thin, it was tasteless and had a strong pork sour taste. I vomited it out every time I ate it. Even my friends at the table couldn't stand it. The juice was originally from a can of watered-down canned tomato soup. What the heck? There is no taste, and there is no food in the dish.

Best HK-style food I’ve ever had in Birmingham and the lunch sets are very good value for money too!!

We came to Birmingham just for the day and we made sure to stop here on the way and it was so worth it!! We got the siu mai, char siu bao and the egg tarts, we can't fault any of them, all so good! The egg tarts came hot which was a delicious surprise! Will definitely be back again!!
