Really nice food and restaurant, very decently priced. Lovely spiced chai latte, although it was a shame we couldn’t drink until after our meal as they were very hot! Would make it a 5 star if the service improves.

Awful. Visited for the first time last night. I don’t get the hype. Karak Chai was basically a large cup of warm milk - no tea! Banana bread was stodgy. The chicken wrap was also gross, mayo with offcuts of chicken.

My family and I enjoy Middle Eastern food, so when visiting Birmingham we came across Damascena in Moseley. The salads served at here are among the best I've eaten. The falafel platter and and the Kibbeh Makliya too were excellent, not to forget the Fuul Mahroos - simply delish (and filling)! We ate all our meals for 3 days at the restaurant trying out various dishes, despite us having to make a longish journey to Moseley each time. It was well worth it. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming which made the experience of dining very personal. Marina in particular took the time to explain the various items on the menu and even made recommendations when asked. It was nice that Marina and I shared common tastes in our choice of salads! We always ended our meals with cardamom tea, which became a little ritual for us. We were very touched by the kind gesture of the complimentary baklava 'on the house'. We will definitely be back if ever we are in Birmingham again.

I usually only go Damascena for a coffee but it’s difficult not to indulge in their wide variety of food choices from hot to cold with amazing prices the smell is enough to captivate you and the customer service is always on point. To be honest it’s hard to pick out which waiters customer service deserves recognition as they are all so friendly and are always in uplifting spirits, but even then it’s difficult not to pay attention towards Layla as she prides herself on delivering the best customer service and will have your food ready before you know it.

I hosted a menopause awareness event here last Sunday with 19 of us in their side room. The food was exceptional. The service and attention to detail was fantastic. A great team and a great restaurant. Welcoming and forthcoming to help. The pre event conversations and planning was very well handled by Mohamed. Every effort was made to make it easy for me and my team to deliver the event.

Went last Sunday, amaaazing food. Especially loved the roasted garlic hummus and the hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had!!

We had great food served by a great waitress named Wisal.

What a lovely night. Moh was very gracious as were Wisel & Leila. Loved the relaxed atmosphere. The lentil soup with lemon is delicious. Love the fresh mint tea. Great coffee. Highly recommended.

Came here for breakfast. Niamh, our waitress was excellent. Very accommodating to our little adjustments. Everything was done with a smile. Food was excellent and really tasty. The Juz Muz was definitely the star of the show. The breakfast platter was a lovely range of varied starters. The bread was served warm and crusty with butter. Great start to the day. Mint tea was actually with fresh mint leaves and not just cheap tea bags. Very enjoyable experience.

Just popped in for a coffee before my shift a few days ago. A barista called ade made my coffee and indulged me in a really nice conversation and made me the prettiest coffee with a flower. Really made my morning.

Really lovely and chilled establishment. It looks small and quaint from the front, though extending back pretty far with plenty of pleasant seating and tables for 2-8 people. The selection of coffee and baclava are delicious. Do visit, chill, relax, and enjoy.

Basil did an amazing job with my garden, bringing in his unique expertise in Damascene gardening. His attention to detail, rooted in the traditions of his homeland, transformed my space beautifully. He was professional, punctual, and the results were stunning. I highly recommend his services!

Amazing ambient and comfortable seating arrangements.. Harira soup and the juz muz on the breakfast menu was banging !!!! Coupled with friendly and helpful service, I made this brunch outing an excellent value for money outing on a dreary brommy day...!!! Alhumdulillah

Me And my partner frequent Damascena often And we prefer to come to this branch because of the service we receive, we have received the best care by Mohammed and Ibrahim.

Food is authentic and brilliant. The drinks are perfect, and the ambiance goes well with everything. Laila served us, and she was very warm and pleasant.

Decent place, especially love their Knafe, they can often be short staffed and sometimes not have some desserts on the menu.

I love damascena they are great as always, their food is the best in Birmingham. I always recommend the place for the quality, cleanliness and service. I have to mention the coffee as well, they have one of the best coffee I have tasted plus the Turkish coffee

A truly lovely taste of Eastern food. Friendly and helpful staff (couldn’t do enough to help); food came swiftly and presented in away to make your mouth water - then you taste it …👍 When you leave you get this! L! How can you resist.

This is a lovely quaint place in Moseley, so it fits well in the area. The food and drinks are nice, but more importantly, the offer decaf coffee! Seating is clean and comfortable. Service always very good as well. A regular favourite of ours!

Not pram friendly, was watched by staff as i struggled to bring my pram in, no help offered after they declined to open the side gate which IS pram friendly. Was then told to wait 15 minutes for a table to then be sat in the pram friendly section that was free all along. Young waiters serving were excellent, the men at the counter not so. The boss overheard that the service was poor and instead of apologising or talk to us he simply just said i have remove the service charge and walked off unbothered…

Came to try out a few of the dishes and was really impressed with the flavours of every dish. This cafe has a lovely vibe and a courtyard to enjoy your meal. Friendly staff and great service. Shout out to Ibrahim and Hareth YNWA!

Fab food and staff and atmosphere

Regular here thought I would finally leave a review. Late and disjointed service every single time. Realised ordering through deliveroo is quicker than in house service especially if you are local. Most negative reviews mentions wait time (before and after ordering taken and for bill to arrive) but the management don't seem to do enough to address this. Food alright but overpriced for the amount especially the grill items. Very good for mint tea, harira soup, affogato and kunafe. Some nice drinks available too.

I drink coffee and it’s my drink of choice but today I tried a mint tea and it was wonderful. First time at Damascena Moseley ,(I usually go to the jewellery quarter) and found the same level of high quality to their menu. Very welcoming friendly and cozy.

Lovely syrian food with lots of flavour, fast efficient service, and lovely atmosphere, our server didnt smile even once and that spoilt the atmosphere for me, he acted like he was fed up and just wanted us to go, it was a weekday evening, so we didnt have to wait long for a table. The cheese katayef were crispy and burnt and tasted oily d9nt bother getting them

I used to love Damascena, but not after today's visit to Damascena Moseley. I have always gone to Damascena New Street and thought both locations would be the same. However, this was not the case. Our food arrived after 30 minutes, and the pita bread was so hard that we couldn't eat it. The only good thing was the coffee. The worst part was that our stomachs got upset after eating there. I'm not sure what caused it. All in all, we were very disappointed.

I recently visited Damascena, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional, with the staff being incredibly accommodating and attentive. The food was delicious, offering a rich variety of flavors that truly impressed. Every visit to Damascena has been consistently excellent, and I will definitely be returning again. Highly recommended!

as we entered on a Tuesday morning i said good morning and the girl behind the counter totally ignored me sat down briskly knives and forks where dirty table was grubby food was ok but was not freshly cooked coffee was great

Very poor experience with horrible service! Everything started well, we came in to have a quick lunch on Sunday. It wasn’t busy, so we get table straight away. I was excited to try your food, as never had Lebanese food before. Such a shame your staff don’t care about people who’s choosing to dine with you. Lady who was taking our order (I can’t said she was our server as she didn’t put any effort or time to make us feel welcome) seams annoyed only because she needed to talk to us. We asked to have lahim biajeen plater first and then beef and lamb shawarma later. Obviously everything came together- even before then our drinks!! I asked guy who served our food if he can politely check on our drinks, so he did after a while - however drinks arrived after another 10 minutes. There was no cutlery on the table so we again asked 2 different people for at least some forks - again no luck. I had to go and chase for it as food was getting cold.. In the meantime no one check if we enjoying our food or drinks, they didn’t bother to clean our table even if we get all plates one on the other so it’s easier for them. It’s like Hospitality is not existing in there. After all we was about to try some desserts, but we were waiting another 20 minutes for someone to come and get some kind of interaction with us.. This entire experience make me feel there that unwelcome so i just asked for a bill in the end. Food was fine, but not enough flavour for me.. baba ghanuj missing tahini, tabula missing lemon, and shawarma supposed to be with lamb and there was no other flavour then poor garlic sauce.. Watermelon ice tea was just too sweet, I didn’t drink it at all, but no one asked why again. Positives? Mint tea was good, great amount of mint. Sadly that was the best thing from our experience and bill of £50 ..

We are regular visitors to Dama Scena in Moseley. The food is always fresh, extremely tasty and beautifully prepared. Service is good too with food delivered to the table without delay. We ordered a buffet for 50 people to celebrate a significant event last weekend. The food was delivered on time and looked and tasted delicious. Feedback from our guests was universally positive. Thank you Dama Scena. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant as the place to eat in Moseley.

Still feeling hungry after spending over £80 for 1 adult and 2 kids!! Can't really say that it was worth it but the kids enjoyed it. Man needs proper food not breadcrumbs! Won't be visiting again!!

This is a wonderful restaurant that serves tasty Middle Eastern food. There's a good variety and much of it is vegan-friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I ordered the lamb and beef shawarma arabiya and it was delightful, hareth was our server and he was very helpful, I recommend highly.

My favourite Middle Eastern cuisine. I have been coming here for over 8 years now and the food is absolutely delicious. The spinach pastry is one of my favourites as well as their chicken shawarma warp. Definitely recommend this place for any occasion.

Having lived in the Middle East for a long time I really miss labneh, zaatar and fattoush type dishes and I had the most wonderful breakfast with all the traditional flavours. And the coffee is to die for. Staff were helpful. Definitely recommend.

No problem with the service really and food/drinks. But the prices have gone up very high. Not just a slight increase but a vast increase. Also there is no mention of service charge. But on the bill mentions added service charge, which I refused to pay as the prices are well over priced now. Also the old menu was easy and simple. Now the menu is a massive book. I haven't been again since my last visit as the prices are not worth it whatsoever.

Nice place Nice food Nice atmosphere Had a bad experience. Visit this place multiple times. On Friday went on afternoon, a staff member made me Wait stating no space. Waited for 10 Mins after which many people left. I then proceeded to see if there were any space. Found many spaces. Was baffled why she said no spaces for a single person. Is it because I was dressed in Islamic attire. Never again. Won’t he insulted like that again.

Came today morning for Eid,were served by the lovely Leila very quick service she also made sure we had everything good, we got big platters of breakfast fatoor very filling for three people definitely recommend!

This restaurant is the best restaurant in the whole of Birmingham , I come from London especially for their cinnamon tea it’s unreal! The staff the service the vibe the food is 10/10 it beats any luxury restaurant that London has ❤️ The owner or manager I’m not sure is a very lovely lady x

We had and Arabic Breakfast for a family of a couple and two kids cost us £45. The food is ok and nice but it’s too little.they will service you in a small and mini plate and pots. Hot and Cold drink is a bit expensive because away from Birmingham Centre, it’s Not a tourist place or City

Definitely somewhere to visit when you want a quiet meal that is cheap and delicious. Would always recommend the batata hara potatoes and the chocolate chic cheesecake.

They will rip you off Very expensive for the quality and the amount they serve. Two beef shawarma and they claimed it is "lamb" and zaatar flat bread lemonade mint and two Coca-Cola for 51£. Never again

had high expectations and they met them, however, portions were so tiny and it was pretty expensive. left the restaurant hungry.

I have been to Damascena Moseley many times and I'll keep coming back. The food and service are excellent. The decor helps to transport you to a middle eastern cafe and makes for a great escape from the busy city of Birmingham. Portion sizes are ideal and the variety on the menu means you'll never get bored of what they have to offer. Very easy to recommend to locals and people travelling into the West Midlands.

Takeaway drinks. One was good but the other was a flat white and it should be made to a specific size but there was too much milk added which weakened the coffee taste. The atmosphere wasn't easy to score as mine was a takeaway order. So I've scored it as a maximum.

Well established eatery in Moseley. Lovely for early evening drinks and nibbles or a full meal. Love the date and banana smoothie.

Lovely branch and atmosphere as usual, just wondered if the banana whip milkshake has changed recipes? It used to be better with dates & banana… unfortunately now it tastes just like vanilla ice cream and some nuts at the bottom… bring back the old recipe it was a favourite

My go-to and favourite breakfast/brunch place ever. Food is always fresh, authentic and yummy. They never disappoint. But it has gone VERY expensive recently 😕.

Food, decor and ambiance is nice and cosy. Service was a little slow to begin with put picked up. Food came out very quickly. My only gripe was (as others have mentioned) the portion sizes. Given the price I expected double the portion size. So unless you’re not very hungry worth checking out….

Was there ordering a coffee just saw the Asian barista leaking a spun and then with the same spun mixed a costumer drink Absolutely disgusting Also a costumer few days back ordered a drink without ice and he added ice when the waitress told him he just opened the microwave and put it the drink inside.. to defrost the ice and give it to the costumer even the waitress was surprise very disgusting and disappointing Last time I'm coming here to eat the place not recommend anybody to eat there imagine what they do close doors..

Beautiful setting and food.....

I came here with a friend for a relaxing Saturday lunch. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to eat. The food was amazing and there are so many choices of drinks. The price is very reasonable too. I enjoyed it so much and went back the next day with my daughter for a Sunday lunch. It was delicious once again. Will definitely come back again soon!

Really enjoy the food and all the lovely goodies they have to offer it’s a shame only two of the staff there are polite , both being women of Arab/Asian descent , one has lovely long black hair and is always presented nicely and the second has some dyed parts in her hair ^ apologies if I got your descent wrong want to give them a large big up because they are the glue of this place some of the other staff are super rude and seem like they are always having a bad day that overall kills the service and the atmosphere of the environment - giving blunt responses and talking about customers in front of them as if they are not there. I will not specify who these GENTLEMEN were as I can imagine if brought up they know exactly who you are, Damascena was once a place with the best service and genuine kindness - over the years it’s been more people with bad attitudes. I understand if you have things that are unhappy in your life but do not project that on other people. But the food was amazing as usual - manners are needed ASAP to add the prices are unfairly high !!!

Loved the food they offer one of the best shawarma in Birmingham and their garlic sauce was amazing just disappointed on the fact I went there to break the fast they offered everyone the dates even people who were not there to break their fast while they singled us out by not offering dates or water so need more staff training on treating customers equally which ruined the whole vibe hopefully they will work on the suggestion would love to change the review to 5 star if they do so
