Beautiful place. Perfect position on the front in Sidmouth, moments from the beach with lifeguard station. Grand but very friendly. We had one of the cheaper rooms. Still, it was airy and spacious, with a partial sea view. Room service also very much appreciated.

Great location with the beach and the sea in front of the hotel. Our experience of the food in the Horizon restaurant was a mixed bag. The vegetarian options are good with sufficient choice but for me the vegetarian cottage pie was lacklustre in comparison to the other available dishes such as the cheese souffle. The rooms are well appointed with pleasant ensuit facilities. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Parking is available on site which is extremely helpful as is the addition of a disabled space nearest the reception entrance.

Had afternoon tea with a friend. Sat by the window with a view of the sea. Very comfortable, had a lovely time. I live in Sidmouth!

We had to try the new Sunday lunch menu and we were not disappointed. Roast beef served with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cheesy leeks and a proper Yorkshire - not one of those rock hard crispy things restaurants often serve. Followed up with the best freshly cooked Blueberry Bakewell and cream. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks very much

44 High Street, Budleigh Salterton EX9 6LQ EnglandGingerbread house cafe is a lovely local coffee/breakfast/lunch spot on the high st, just up from the beach. I recently ordered a cream tea for two box to be delivered to my mother for her birthday as I live far away. She loved it, it was fresh and delicious and included sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and all the fixings, and she couldn’t have been happier to be surprised on her birthday with a friendly face and a special delivery. They are also very active in the community and offered free lunches for school kids during Covid. A great cafe!

The Esplanade, Sidmouth, EX10 8AZ, United KingdomStayed at the hotel. Which is very nice. Excellent staff. Didn't have a Seaview but room was good and lovely bathroom and comfy beds. Food was good with wait on service. Unfortunately I and my companions will not return to Sidmouth. The town is a ghost town after 5.30 and the pubs close early. There is no entertainment in the hotel or in the town. Once you walk around the town in the day, that's it. Just charity and gift shops.
