The Bellview in Lambeth

This is my local and I’m lucky that the staff knows me and my foibles well. There’s now a really nice house white ( Viognier tempers the Sauvignon Blanc perfectly) and my comfy stool in the corner is perfect for chatting to staff and practically everyone else . I play and sing here on a fairly regular basis . Yesterday I tried the chicken parfait and although there wasn’t enough toast, the parfait was perfect .

Jamie and Erin were very attentive and made our visit very enjoyable. Great place for football and any live sport. Also live music on a Sunday which is a bonus!

Unbelievable time at the belle vue nick/jordan were incredible - great service and amazing chicken and banter. Have recommended to all my friends

Lovely staff at the pub, I can't remember the exact date I returned but they were corona safe, doing great food and drinks. One member of staff (I think her name was Joyce) went above and beyond to ensure my small group had a great time and also remained safe. Food was more than decent too.

Despite the impending doom, had a lovely little lunch with some pals here, great food with Plenty of options. Spoilt for choice with beers too. Joyce, Mari, and Harvey were very helpful behind the bar too! Highly recommend!

I called in for a reviving pint at the end of the working day. Asked for pint of Harvey's. Barman came back and said the Harvey's had "gone". He offered a pint of Wandle's which I accepted. He came back and said "The Wandle's has gone" - and seemed to find it funny.I gave up and went elsewhere. If you are going to try to run a pub, you need to do better than this.

Staff are friendly enough with a decent selection of drinks and nice food. Open quote late as well so always handy for a last drink.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon after a walk on the Common and were pleased to find a table by the fireplace! It was quite busy but the barman still spent time going through what the menu options were like. We had 5 small plates and a portion of fries between 3 of us - chicken wings, seitan bites, halloumi fries, fish sticks and hummus with pitta. Tasty food and good buzz about the place. Nicest pub in the area.

Myself and teddy the Bijon popped in for a quick 6 drinks later still here having a wonderful time talking to the most amazing talented young people who I think there names were Maeri and Liam and boy does he know how to make an old fashioned Will defo come back

Had a great meal, steak and chips, lamb chops and crushed Jersey potatoes etc all cooked perfectly. Couldn’t fault anything.

I have visited this pub now a few times (twice for their quiz night.). The Quiz Host puts on such a great 'show' -he is so down to earth and funny, and he makes the night so enjoyable. Great selection of food to keep you going throughout the eve, and the malbec wine is a very nice choice. The bar staff are all really nice and easy going. It is a good, good pub!

Came here for a Sunday roast. It was quiet, perhaps due to the nice weather. We had a seat by the big windows, overlooking the road. This gave us a view of the blue sky and fresh air, but gave us huge amounts of road noise. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I had pork belly and my friend had the vegan roast. My friend ordered a bloody Mary, but was disappointed by it - weak tomato juice and lacking spice and celery.

The Belle Vue in Clapham is a friendly bar with delicious food and great atmosphere. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and the food is extremely tasty. Highly recommended.

I've been today for my second time in The Belle Vue and I received a great service from the lovely and charming Joyce! I just wished that every single pub in London had staff like her. Well done Joyce! Thanks for the great service and profissionalism!

First visit. Nice location typical looking designed local pub. Bar staff very friendly and average food as you would expect but not bad. Happily sat a couple of hours away to relax. Would be back.

Went here for a friends birthday. The venue was great with a superb selection of beers and wines on offer. Food was great too. Let me not forget the awesome staff on the night who made sure the birthday boy had a fab time with plenty to eat and drink. If were to call out a particular staff member it would be Joyce, she went over and above with nothing being too much trouble for her, ensuring the whole party had a fab time. Whether you want a nice meal or some Friday night drinks, this place can accommodate your needs.

I recently went into the Belle Vue to meet some friends. I had never visited the pub beforehand and didn’t know the area well. I arrived some time before my friends did, I sat and the bar and got speaking to the barmaid, Joyce. She was really friendly and talked me through the beer selection available. The pub itself had a really nice vibe and it was in a really convenient place, being able to meet friends from the Tube. Highly recommended!!

Went for beer which good but the fish and chips left much to be desired.Batter resembled a stick of Blackpool rock but at least it was cooked I suppose.

Came here with my friend because we were tempted by the 50% off vegan and vegetarian Wednesdays.. it was incredible! Fantastic service and the food ( particularly the vegan burger ) was delicious. Incredibly reasonable prices as well. Cracking vegan mayo too. Highly recommend.

Nos detuvimos para cenar con amigos después de ver que tenían una buena selección vegetariano. Soy un cliente exigente como tengo alérgia encima de mi dieta vegetariana. We had a lovely family meal here. Tasty and plenty to eat and very good service. Some days this restaurant has specials and they are worth watching out for.

Went with friends for light lunch and we were amazed by the service and food. Decent menu for light lunches to fully lunch. The service was attentive and not intrusive. We were bowled over by the range of hot sauces offered by the bar person.

Third time we've been here. It was a Saturday afternoon and wonderfully quiet. It's heaving at night. The staff are so efficient, friendly and helpful. Beer gooood too!

Ordered the Sunday roast and when it came we were told we got extra carrots...lucky us! Only to discover we didn't have any potatoes. We eventually got someone to come over who explained, yeah, that's why you got extra carrots. Well, it would have been nice to know that when we ordered. That was the only time we had someone come by. The roast itself was over done. And I know it was near the end of the night but again, we could have been told.

Had a lovely meal and drinks at the Belle Vue, really relaxed vibe and the staff were incredible, especially Vin who made us feel so welcome and looked after! Couldn't have hoped for a better evening or better company. We'll be back for a drink and a chat with him soon!

I've always enjoyed drinking a glass of Picpoul here and found the bar staff both friendly and informative (and even interested in my actually being there). My son and I sat down, initially for a drink. The barman made an excellent Old-Fashioned for my son, as we watched, while I drank my first glass of wine. We ordered food from the Starters menu: devilled kidneys, octopus on chickpeas and a small salad Nicoise. Sharing with my 21-year old student son is NOT easy but Iwas so enjoying my wine I didn't notice that Dan was painstakingly leaving me half of everything while announcing 'dad this is SO good'. Each dish was superb and clearly freshly-made. The egg yolks were simply beautiful to look at. We were so happy we ordered a full bottle of Picpoul, realising we were now officially in a 'session' , we got into a really nice discussion with the bar man and he encouraged us to order/share the profiteroles which are made in house. They were amazing. This place is so close to Clapham Common tube station and can get totally packed. I'm not interested in it when it's rammed on friday and saturday nights. But my point in writing this review is that, on quiet nights, it has an entirely different look and feel. It feels like a wine bar and boasts an excellent (and changing) wine list. It also feels like a pub and a restaurant. It has a cosiness which is lacking in so many other places. We shall be back very soon!

While visiting London we met up with some friends who live in Brixton and after dinner came to this pub for a drink on a Sunday before Bank Holiday. It was lovely and just what you'd expect - good beer, enough of a wine selection to get a decent glass, and a bright , sunny atmosphere. My only complaint is that it was a little loud.

The bartender was so lovely. Chatting to us about food and drink preferences made it a nice personal experience. The food was lovely and we'll priced. Portions were amazing!! And a good selection of beer on tap!

This a pleasant place for a Sunday roast. The beef was alright but lacked character. The roast vegetables, however, were excellent as was the Yorkshire pudding (perhaps a bit on the dry side). My main quibble was the horseradish: it was too creamy with just a hint of horseradish.

Nice pub a short walk from the common. Good selection of beers including a favourite Belgian beer Zot. Always pop in for drinks when in Clapham. Food is worth a try though only eaten here a few times

We were three of us and we all had lovely Onion soups and I had a Burger my self. . It was very nice and fresh but bit dry to my taste. Anyway this place is one of my favourite place and, strongly recommend!

Came in here for the first time, and was really impressed with the cooking. I had chicken livers for a starter which was a tasty, lightly spiced introduction to the meal, followed by lamb shoulder. which came shredded, and was truly delicious. My partner chose vegetarian options, delicious creamy mushroom starter, then a full flavoured aubergine dish. The music was a little loud, but a friendly atmosphere.

A really poor Christmas dinner for a pensioners' lunch club with stingy portions, badly cooked, shrivelled veg. Over priced. Service ungenerous

This is such a chilled pub with great atmosphere and really lovely staff. Came here as a group of 8 and even though some of our group were quite late, there was no pressure from the staff and they were welcoming.

Had a Christmas meal here with some friends on Sunday, sadly at the time of booking we were told that two of the options for mains from the Christmas menu were unavailable but we were able to swap them for roasts off the Sunday menu.Had the prawn cocktail to start which was quite nice, then the roast beef for main... it arrived VERY raw - basically impossible to cut or chew but we mentioned this and they were very apologetic, took our food back and offered us some free drinks in the meantime which was lovely. The food came back much better and really enjoyed it, had the cheese for dessert which was nice - my one comment on the cheese was it would have been nice if it came with biscuits rather than the same bread the prawn cocktail starter came with but it was delicious nonetheless.All in all had a fab afternoon here, the bloody mary menu is a massive bonus point too.

Have just returned home from having an absolutely outstanding Roast Dinner, second only to my Grandmother's. The pork was cooked to perfection, and served with the usual seasonal trimmings. Yorkshire pud was excellent, not the usual Aunt Bessy rubbish one has become accustom to when eating a Roast out of home... They also seem to have upped their beer game with Bruges Zot on tap and Delirium Tremens in the fridge... Will be back again for sure.

Questo pub e' un locale che mi piace molto frequentare ma non negli orari di caos e folla e quando spara musica a tutto volume. Trovo che il loro hamburger vegetariano e le chips siano molto buoni, e' un po' il mio piatto fisso... Lo accompagno con una delle buone ale che sempre hanno a disposizione.

A friend and I went there and decided to order cocktails from what seemed like a simple yet substantial cocktail menu containing roughly seven or eight drinks. After ten minutes without our drinks arriving (it was far from busy that evening!) we turned around to see how things were progressing only to discover none had been made at all. We found at that point that our server was still behind the bar checking up on a manual how to make the drinks. Not a great sign.The two drinks arrived after about 15 - 20 minutes. Presented to us diffidently, he also failed to mention which one was which. However, this didn't really matter as neither contained any discerning trace of alcohol. They were lifeless, dull, and flat.In spite of this, I did like the atmosphere in the pub and I'm sure if one were to order beer or wine, things would have been a whole lot more straightforward. My gripe is that if you're expecting customers to hand over £8 for a cocktail, you better at least ensure you have professionals making it. If you don't have staff capable of making these drinks, then don't sell them. It's an insult to have someone before you who is clearly making the drink for the first time.I realise everyone has to learn at some point, but that should be done in another time - and not before the customers... and at full price.Would have preferred a cocktail in a bag from Tesco.

Staff here are rude. I asked for a lager and she said which one. I asked her which ones they did and she huffed and said "god. You've been drinking here all night". It was my first lager in the place. Then, when I was waiting for my beer the barman sprayed me with coke by accident and barely apologised. In such a busy place like clapham\london generally, decent customer service should come as standard

We come here generally on a Friday night for the live music but today have come for the roast. I was at first thinking it we need a quick meal let's head into the Bellevue for a typical pub lunch, really not the case! The food was far from average and the French wines were perfect for complimenting the food. I recommend the beef roast paired with the Lo Petit Fantet d'Hippolyte. Delicious! We will definitely be back on a Sunday!

Used to drink in this place after mass in the 80's onwards, have been away for some years now, so it was a pleasant surprise to enter it's doors to find it is still the same nice pub it was back then!

Disappointing visit last Sunday- fish & chips came out slightly cold with soft batter, and the Roast Beef v. tough! Please improve as great location & fairy lights!!!
