The Bellmill Hotel Restaurant in North Lanarkshire

Could not go as hotel closed & I was not advised!! I could not get booked anywhere late notice!!! So I missed a family party, very poor communication

The food was really nice. The service was not. I felt rushed by the staff and like a total inconvenience. Would not recommend.

A massive thank you to Dawn and the team for their exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. Food and service was outstanding. We had a 3 course lunch within the function suite followed by dinner and drinks throughout the day. All of the team could not have done enough for us. Highly recommend

Went on a Sunday teatime with my brother. Very loud, but actually made for a nice atmosphere. Would agree with other reviewers - food somewhat overpriced but we enjoyed what we had. But the service is where this place sells itself. There was no rush to eat or to vacate the table and the manageress made us feel welcome (so important nowadays). So better than expected and don’t judge a book by its cover. Might not look the best from the outside but very nice inside.

Disapointed, they have stopped doing breakfast. My friends from work, always enjoyed coming here for breakfast, which was excellent

The pub is nice for a drink and they show football too. The food is bang average and way overpriced for what it is. All the meat is over cooked and dry. Burgers are tasteless and hard. Basically you’re paying for the good service and nice restaurant, not the food.

We were served by Lewis who was very friendly and advised us of the daily specials.. Food was delicious, husband had the special of pork with all the trimmings. I had the vegan arriabatta. Both were delicious.. then on Lewis recommendation we had the honeycomb cheesecake..

Excellent service with top class food...Chef is awesome with all foods being well above average....Will be going back again and again....give it a try you won't be disappointed 😀

Fantastic service, food was first class, the staff were so helpful and nothing a bother. They even got us a table at the back when they needed our table for a later booking, great team!

As a regular visitor to the Belmill I was delighted to see the range of specials available on Sunday. There were a few starters and we opted for the apple and black pudding bon bons- fantastic. We both then has the roast pork. It really was delicious. The service was top notch too, well done all !

It isn't easy to find vegan meals in Bellshill but the Belmill Hotel Restaurant offers multiple options. I tried the chicken burger which came with chips and was tasty. Also the pinot grigio wine was vegan which is a bonus! The staff were all friendly. A great place to go for food and drinks with friends.

We stayed overnight to attend a family event. Really nice clean and well decorated hotel. Big highlight was the staff service. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Food lovely. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Came here as they were doing a deal £40 each for 2 course meal and bus in and out to Hampden (even although we missed the bus) the meal was delish we would certainly come back here for food the atmosphere was so nice and relaxed.

Booked a couple rooms for two nights and to be honest never expected much for price but we were astounded at the facilities etc Rooms were spotless my wife done a four in bed inspection and it was given 10/10 for cleanliness The shower room was very modern double shower heads toiletries supplied. The tea/coffee tray was well stocked with biscuits to die for. Towels were white massive and fluffy. Bed had crisp white linen and comfortable. Food in reasturant excellent. Breakfast started late in morning but worth the wait. Next morning a lovely basket of fresh towels and toiletries biscuits was left outside the room door with a note welcoming us from Tricia letting us know to ask for more towels if needed Beennto many hotels but was made to feel so welcome at the Belmill I will be back

Went for lunch with my sisters had main and dessert.Served really quick and meal lovely,cheesecake was brilliant .Waiter we had was a delight and the young bartender who was snowed under but didn’t flinch was spot on.

Enjoyed a late lunch here today. 2 adults and 3 hungry boys. Can’t fault the food. Good quality and very generous portions. Kids said the burgers were amazing! And the chocolate cake and ice cream went down a treat too. Add in a reasonably priced wine list and friendly, attentive staff and you can’t go far wrong. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Bellshill.

Booked a meal on Sunday and tried using my Dine card only to be told this deal is not available on Sundays although the website says Sunday to Thursday .Food was good and staff really nice.

I’ve been here multiple times for drinks at weekends and the atmosphere is good. Venue is nice and the staff are nice too.

Couldn’t fault the place to be honest. Good portions and tasted amazing especially for what you pay.

Popped in for dinner for four nothing booked but managed to get a table quite quickly. Service was really good and time for food to be put on table after order was good also. Food was excellent no complaints from four people who each ordered a different dish. Overall very satisfactory meal and experience. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Came here a visit with my son, a staff member recommended the special. The special was king prawn in a tempura batter with satay, rice and prawn crackers. WOW this meal was absolutely delicious, just sad I’ve never seen it on the menu again. The service from Sharon was excellent and made me go back again numerous times!! I would recommend to everyone.

Visited the Bellmill on Sunday for dinner with my partner it was his 1st visit but my 3rd (I've left a positive review before). I had enjoyed my meals on previous visits but left this time disappointed. We had booked a table for 5.30pm we arrived early and where asked to have a seat at the bar whilst waiting for table that was fine although no sooner had the drinks ordered and arrived the table was ready. We where seated on lower level near the door (any other time I've been it's been away from the bar in food area) It was loud & busy where we where and people had obviously been in a few hours before us and where well on. Our waitress was nice she took our order without writing it down. She recited back what we had ordered correctly although when starter came there was jalapenos on the nachos which we had asked not to be. Nachos where said to be like no other in that it was more a tomato sauce rather than salsa. I had haggis bon bons which where nice if a little on the small portion side. We waited a while for the mains and where ready for them when they finally arrived. We where happy to see the waitress bring it out but when the plates hit the table both looked at each other like, is that it? Having had the fish before (can see difference in photos) was really disappointed in portion size. Chicken in peppercorn sauce looked nice but didn't taste it it was very dry and stuck in my throat. We asked for side of coleslaw for the fish and it was then the waitress asked how meals where by this point I had tasted the mash which was more like boiled potatoes. Was honest and she kindly offered to provide fresh meal. Had it just of been one item on the plate wouldn't have been so bad but as it was the chicken and the mash i replaced it. What a mistake this was waited so long for it my partner had finished and I had not even started nothing worse than this happening! When my plate came you could see it had more sauce so wasn't going to be as dry. Still wasn't the best piece of chicken and the mash was still lumpy i didn't complain again as by this point we just wanted to finish up and leave. The waitress kindly removed the meal from the bill which we didn't ask for. She said this was because it had to be replaced and how long we waited so I know I wasn't just hangry!! The waitress being so nice and the tennents lager said to have been a nice pint is the only reason for an average rating otherwise I'm afraid it would have to have been poor. Unfortunately won't be returning.

Despite the fact that the Restuarant was extremely busy and we had not booked Linda managed to fit us in. We only had one course because we were in a hurry but we both thought our choices we delicious and good value for money.

Visited yesterday with a family group of 6. Despite advertising yesterday to visit and celebrate exam results there was no mention of this anywhere. The restaurant was only half used and they were turning people away.

Have been a number of times with family and friends. On this and previous visit food was mediocre. We were seated at the back, it was draughty and cold, next to smoking door and fire exit.

Out with the family and it was actually such a lovely meal. Such a rustic vibe and cheerful atmosphere. Must say our barista Amy was such a lovely person, made such everything was catered for and literally served us with a smile since we entered the restraunt. Overall i really enjoyed my night.

I visited this hotel for a week and after the first nights dinner here, would not go anywhere else! The menu has great variety and light options. I ordered a piri piri chicken dish and the spices were delicious accompanied by well dressed salad and spicy rice

Had a fantastic time at the Bellmill last night, there were 18 of us there celebrating my daughter's and nieces 18th birthdays, food was fantastic, staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for us, food was reasonably priced and tasty, my nephew has food intolerances and the chef went above and beyond to make sure he was catered for. The staff were also great with the kids, would highly recommend.

Great dinner with the kids, got the pleasure of finding out the kids eat free during the summer so value for money was excellent and the food was excellent. Will be back.

Good pub grub served by the friendly and welcoming staff. Or if you fancy a quick cuppa or a coffee, then you can have them here too

Hotel is on a busy road but its not noisy at all. The traffic seems to stop around 10pm! The rooms are comfortable and clean. Showers are modern and very good.

Food very good value staff always pleasant and reasonably priced will no doubt return sometime soon for dinner

I booked a table online and although we arrived twenty minutes early this did not pose any issue at all, The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. My dad and I had the battered haddock and it was fresh and delicious. My eldest daughter had the pasta carbonara and my other daughter chose a chicken burger which they thoroughly enjoyed. The portion sizes were very generous and the quality of food was delectable.

The restaurant looks lovely and staff are friendly but food not the best. First day I had Pepper Chicken, was okay but chicken not the best I’ve tasted and husband had Chicken curry again not great.

I love the Bellmill. The menu is wide & the food is great & very reasonably priced. Staff are always very helpful & especially friendly. The hotel has a lovely lively atmosphere & the decor is modern & tasteful - what more could you want ? Well worth a visit.

Visited today as a party of 8 for afternoon tea to celebrate a 70th birthday. After a debate with a member of staff we were “allowed” to move our tables by about 4 feet to avoid the draught from the kitchen. Took some persuading. Member of staff not pleased. The afternoon tea was nice although I would prefer to have a choice beforehand. Not one of our party like salmon which was a waste. We then moved to allow other diners to have our tables. When we placed our seats together we were told by the same surly member of staff that we couldn’t use some of the seats as they were needed for nearby tables! Those same tables were empty all the time we were there. Not exactly a friendly atmosphere and we definitely won’t be back. All other staff were friendly and efficient. If you want somewhere to go with a surly staff member then this is the place to go.

We’ve recently visited the Bellmill and it was the first bar that we visited after moving to Bellshill. We had such a good night with plenty options on the food menu to choose from and some creative cocktails to compliment it! We’ll be back 😁

My wife, baby and I attended the Bellmill Hotel for Afternoon Tea which I had booked for 1 pm. Due to us getting stuck in traffic because of an accident we arrived at 1:15 pm, but I phoned up the venue at 12:45 pm to inform them of this. However when we arrived, the member of staff that seated us sarcastically said: running a bit late are we? Thankfully we got served by someone else, who was lovely, after that.

My sis and I went here for dinner on Monday April 9th - had starters they seemed to be fine - both ordered hunters chicken - when it came - it looked absolutely vile - the chicken was tough - the bacon was full of fat and grizzle - didn't eat it - we weren't even offered anything else when we complained to the waiting staff - we weren't charged for the main meals obviously - but not even given an apology or anything - definitely won't be back there for a meal - seriously went down hill since it first opened its doors

Visited the Bellmill today for Mother’s Day. Food was excellent, service was excellent and would definetly recommend. Visit here regularly and it is always of a high standard.

Was treated yet again to a fantastic meal here, the place was buzzing and the quality did not suffer with the constant flow of visitors looking either for a meal or a social drink. The staff as usual were very helpful and pleasant.

I have visited the Bellmill on several occasions and never been disappointed with the food but the drinks are over priced especially the cocktails as its a pre mix. If going for a quite dinner/ meal i wouldn't go in the weekends. My daughter loves to get her mock-tail with her lunch/dinner

Friend had booked afternoon tea for us both today and it wasn't what we expected. The range of sandwiches was minimal, egg, salmon and ham and tomatoe..disgusting and they weren't even fresh , bread felt like it had been left uncovered for a while and all round tasted horrible. The plate of mini cakes where atrocious. Macaroons where soft and the selection given were not edible . Only good thing about the experience was the tea and even when they were served on stained cups. Also never got the prosecco that was in the deal either..very disappointed and not worth the full price never mind the voucher deals. Not be recommending this to anyone . Should give at least a selection of things people might actually like and maybe have them made fresh especially when serving fish and egg and it been left laying until you arrive.

We had an evening meal here. The sea bass with mashed potatoes was lovely and all the rest in the group enjoyed the variety of courses on offer.

Visited with family for pub lunch . Nice decor though soft furnishings were a wee bit worn . Had the fish and chips.fish was enormous and very tasty! The service was quick and friendly .its nice Bellshill has a place like this to eat as a town this size was needing the Bellmill.

Nice layout and decor first visit and was impressed.Food was great tasty and sufficient portion size with a wide varied choice.Good service pleasant staff keep up the good work. Will definitely return.

Decided to visit relatives in Scotland but needed a central point for other towns. Opted for the Bellmill hotel chosen from the internet. Very central for short walks.

Lovely staff, food & beautiful decor. It's a hidden gem. Sharing platter is a must to try. Visited over the past few months and never been disappointed

Food is excellent and worth every penny only down fall is the service can be very slow but it's worth it because the food is great . Highly recommend the Cajun chicken

We booked a table for dinner on a Saturday night and the good food was totally wasted by the lights being turned down and having to eat our dessert in the dark!!

A group of us went to the Bellmill to celebrate a friends birthday. We all got different starters and main courses. We all liked them but did not think they were absolutely brilliant. The decor is lovely and modern. The DJ came on at the later part of the evening and we all left as the music was too loud. This was unfortunate as we would have spent quite a bit more money had we stayed. Staff were great.

Great food,warm and chilled atmosphere,good kids meals and good variety on menu,staff friendly and accommodating,my wee Balearic baby Amanda is an wee smasher and great server,very professional young lady,would recommend it to family and friends. Thanx for a great nite.

Myself and 3 friends went here last week for lunch. We really enjoyed it, the restaurant was pleasant, there is a smoking area out back and a small play area. the food choices are good, the cocktail menu looks good although on this occasion we didn't try any, and the prices are reasonable. I would agree about the staff not being quick to refill drinks but apart from that it was an enjoyable experience and we will return.

We went out for a meal with 4 other couples. The food was great staff were excellent and we had a great night. Very reasonable prices and the place was spotless . Would definitely recommend it

I found the food very poor quality. The house pasta was very greasy.... the scampi was tasteless and the side salad too oily. I will not be back for food.

when this opened I really enjoyed it. but the last few times definitely not. went with my mum husband and friend we just wanted a main course I had the pasta which was swimming in an inch of grease. absolutely disgusting. my friend had the scamp which was like something from Iceland and the chips cold within a minute. do they not heat plates. my mother and husband both had breaded haddock which was cold and tasted like something you take out the freezer. what a shame this has went downhill. from now on if I need to eat locally it will be greek. I was embarrassed that I had taken people there

My experience of the Belmill has been pretty decent and the food has always been very tasty, fresh and generous in size. I do think that the service could be better though, the staff at times can be pretty lackadaisical and not exactly urgent when it comes to replenishing drinks etc. Not bad, not great, just good but sometimes good is good enough! It is what it is!

Have been here a few times now and have never had a bad experience. They cater for all foodies. Decently priced and scrumptious food. They have a new cocktail menu which is sublime. Right next to the train station, so very easy to find. If you need a place to catch up with friends or even for a few drinks it's the perfect choice in Bellshill.
