Alhambra Cafe in North Lanarkshire

In my opinion the best fish supper around, stopped in for a sit in fish tea tonight rather than drive home to Chapelhall or eat it in the car and it was tops absolutely faultless one huge piece of perfect fresh fish and nice batter with perfect chips just like homemade like my mum used to do. Been a few times but never on my own but in future I'll always sit in it won't be beat and good music playing and lovely staff, it makes me so happy a right gid fish supper and huge I'm burst

Dont usually leave reviews,but tonights order was not nice. chips were scraps,roll wasn't fresh,and king rib was like mush. our last few orders haven't been the best. sorry,but this used to be my favourite place to order from

Always early or on time and the customer service is amazing the staff are lovely at restaurant too as me and family have been and my daughter has cerebral palsy and the lady went out her way to try and help but the high chairs aren’t supportive enough but honestly it’s like that everywhere but staff don’t usually bother even trying to help us or see if she wants to sit in the high chairs and that was at bellshill cafe so thanks so much brilliant food too

food as always was delicious and the curry sauce is outstanding!

Lovely once again, hav never had a bad meal from it, delivery drivers always so nice, your drivers for McDonald’s could learn a few things from Alhambra

The best chip shop in Lanarkshire without doubt

Food always good. Hard to try anywhere else. The only thing is, there's no pizza or kebab service, if that's customer preference. There's also seating restaurant, should customers wish to sit in.

I order from here and also have attended the cafe in person and it’s by far one of the best chip shops I’ve tried this chip shop and one in St Andrews best 2 chippies by far and the customer service is outstanding definitely 5 star

Received wrong order , chips looked lovely but got chicken instead of special fish. Got it swapped but fish coating very overcooked and chips weren’t nice so very disappointing

Normally a top fish supper today was a grease fest, Jumbo fish was saturated and so was the sausage. The chips seem to be getting worse every week. I order here regularly and have never been disappointed but it seems as it gets more popular the quality is regressing. Any more of that and I will be looking elsewhere. £21.90 for a jumbo fish supper and a single sausage and 2 pickles, shocking

The staff here always get the food orders mixed up! Listen to what your customers order and confirm the order back. The food was delicious but it took two visits to get the take away order sorted. The venue was not busy so no excuse for incompetence service.

Got a notification to say it was ready and still had to wait 20 minutes

Celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday and there were 27 of us. Service and food were top class. Food was served hot and with a smile and the lights were dimmed as his cake was brought out and he was made to feel special. Thank you so much for everything- you all made his day 👏👏👏🥰

I’m surprised at this place I’ve been a lot of times and mostly it’s very good but this time I got msg saying it was ready for collection and we had 40min wait when we got there and one of our order was a special fish which was well and truly overdone the breadcrumbs were like crisp board just overdone it was over £12 so I was really disappointed unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this time

The quality of the chips leave a lot to be desired. Small but either overly crispy and chipped too small or the larger ones (struggled to find a chip longer than an inch) too soggy. This chip shop used to be decent. But standards are very poor. The fish and haggis m were fine but the chips are ridiculous. Very poor indeed. Won’t order again

Order was scheduled to arrive 70 minutes after placing the order - which in itself is unacceptable given everywhere else delivers much quicker. Then it was 20 minutes overdue. So it took 1.5 hours to receive our food. In 2024 this is far too long to wait. Food should be issued much quicker!

ordered at 17:12was marked as ready at 17:55 according to the app. updated to be delivered between 18:05 to 18:20 phoned at 18:30 to ask if it had left was told it lefts at 18:20 guy turned up at 18:50 asked when he picked it up and he told me 10mins ago so nearly 2hrs for a delivery and when it arrives it's lukewarm at best waste of money

food left restaurant at 17.24 arrived at me 17.50 cold and inedible so put in bin will not use this place again. I live approximately 1 mile from restaurant

Ordered at 17:10, order arrived at 18:50. Almost 2 hours later. Actually a joke if you’re that overwhelmed turn off your just eat for a couple of hours until you catch up. Almost 2 hrs for undercooked chips.

What a great wee find, we were going to get a takeaway but the restaurant looked so lovely decided to dine in. The service was friendly, the food was 1st class, all so fresh and very tasty, now trying to find a reason to go to Bellshill, but we may drive the hour there just for the amazing food 😋

Quality service provided in the Cafe seating area, still serve quality food at reasonable prices. A nice area where families are served every night of the week.

The sit in area of this place is excellent and we have eaten here on multiple occasions , tonight is the first I have been disappointed, they do not have a website , Google said the place closes at 9.30pm , we arrived at 7.50pm to be told the sit in area was closed. This was not advertised anywhere on Google only a sign on the foor as you enter the place. We travelled quite a distance to come here so best to call in advance before going, don't just go with info from Google. Disappointed tonight.

Delivered 1 hour after expected. Had been marked as delivered which the shop blamed on Just Eat. They said when I called at 20:20 that the food was sitting there and a driver was arriving. Nothing at 20:40. I raised an update request through Just Eat and amazingly the order then showed it was expected at 9pm (1 hour later than expected). Food arrived at 21:15 with driver saying that the shop told them we cancelled the order. Food was cold, had sat that whole time and went in the bin. No refund.

Shocking! First time ordering but will absolutely be the last! Phoned to ask why the order is so late. Still waiting and unable to call again as not answering. I see so many reviews that are the same with delivery but hoped would be resolved by now. Absolute disgrace.

Order was placed at 6:15 but the delivery did not turn up until 8:15 (45 mins late) and food was cold, had to reheat food in the microwave.

Waited over a hr for a sausage supper they forgot my drink then waited another hour and a half for my drink and they had a attitude when I phoned to ask how long for my drink was my go to chippy but never again

order was saying delivered, can assure you it was not. called restaurant and person on phone was rude and uncooperative, informed the female on phone what app said and her response was its round the corner and hung phone up. as a manager for a major high Street food company the person on the call is in desperate need of customer service training. with employees like that you are sure to receive a number of complaints. have been a customer of this place for over 30 years but no more.

The fish and chips were great, hot fresh tastey . Let down by the curry sauce. It came in a pot with a thick skin on it and had a funny taste. I still enjoyed it.

pizza crunch was very soggy, should be crispy, need to start leaving items in hot plate longer. Could not eat chips either because of the puddle of grease left behind by pizza crunch. extremely disappointed, chip shop is the best in area , first bad review in years.

Superb place to eat in or take away fish and chips. Scampi is also very good. Lovely. Would be even better if they sold dessert.

Food arrived 45 mins before estimated time with no prior notifications.. Unfortunately the jumbo fish was a soggy mess. And same size a normal single fish. Prices you charge I'd expect better

Ordered it at 6:50pm. Delivery was meant to be 7:45pm-8:05pm, it's now 8:50pm and no sign of it. We phoned at 8:15pm as it had shown as out for delivery and then briefly showed as delivered. We were told that it was out for delivery at that point, we live 5 mins from the place so should have been here long ago. I'd have collected it if I hadn't been unwell and my wee one hadn't been unwell. Really disappointed and just had to call and cancel as it's been so long since we ordered and the food will have been sitting out for ages in the car so cold and hard.
