Been waiting over 2 hours and foods still not here absolute disgrace service is shocking restraint also refused to give refund which is a disgrace as there service is not fit for purpose

Order was scheduled to arrive 70 minutes after placing the order - which in itself is unacceptable given everywhere else delivers much quicker. Then it was 20 minutes overdue. So it took 1.5 hours to receive our food. In 2024 this is far too long to wait. Food should be issued much quicker!

Can’t rate the food as I couldn’t eat it, no condiments even though they ask you if you want any! Not the first time this has happened. What a waste.

ordered at 17:12was marked as ready at 17:55 according to the app. updated to be delivered between 18:05 to 18:20 phoned at 18:30 to ask if it had left was told it lefts at 18:20 guy turned up at 18:50 asked when he picked it up and he told me 10mins ago so nearly 2hrs for a delivery and when it arrives it's lukewarm at best waste of money

food left restaurant at 17.24 arrived at me 17.50 cold and inedible so put in bin will not use this place again. I live approximately 1 mile from restaurant

Ordered at 17:10, order arrived at 18:50. Almost 2 hours later. Actually a joke if you’re that overwhelmed turn off your just eat for a couple of hours until you catch up. Almost 2 hrs for undercooked chips.

Belter ae a chippy - i canny lose weight cos i canny drive by withoot rattling a wee hamburger. Always the best. The staff are belters too. The lovely women serving are always nice. Well deserved wee tip in the jar. See u again soon. Cheers.

What a great wee find, we were going to get a takeaway but the restaurant looked so lovely decided to dine in. The service was friendly, the food was 1st class, all so fresh and very tasty, now trying to find a reason to go to Bellshill, but we may drive the hour there just for the amazing food 😋

Was at chip shop tonight we got special fish supper 2large batter fish supper fritters looked as they were theirs all day were told just out the pan chips soggy cold fish batter soggy not be back

Ordered a chicken in batter and it was overcooked and dry. Totally inedible

Quality service provided in the Cafe seating area, still serve quality food at reasonable prices. A nice area where families are served every night of the week.

The sit in area of this place is excellent and we have eaten here on multiple occasions , tonight is the first I have been disappointed, they do not have a website , Google said the place closes at 9.30pm , we arrived at 7.50pm to be told the sit in area was closed. This was not advertised anywhere on Google only a sign on the foor as you enter the place. We travelled quite a distance to come here so best to call in advance before going, don't just go with info from Google. Disappointed tonight.

Delivered 1 hour after expected. Had been marked as delivered which the shop blamed on Just Eat. They said when I called at 20:20 that the food was sitting there and a driver was arriving. Nothing at 20:40. I raised an update request through Just Eat and amazingly the order then showed it was expected at 9pm (1 hour later than expected). Food arrived at 21:15 with driver saying that the shop told them we cancelled the order. Food was cold, had sat that whole time and went in the bin. No refund.

Shocking! First time ordering but will absolutely be the last! Phoned to ask why the order is so late. Still waiting and unable to call again as not answering. I see so many reviews that are the same with delivery but hoped would be resolved by now. Absolute disgrace.

Order was placed at 6:15 but the delivery did not turn up until 8:15 (45 mins late) and food was cold, had to reheat food in the microwave.

What a huge portion 🙂 Tasty but not for five stars though.

Waited over a hr for a sausage supper they forgot my drink then waited another hour and a half for my drink and they had a attitude when I phoned to ask how long for my drink was my go to chippy but never again

It’s sad to see this place fall into the bang average league. It was once a fabulous chippy.

order was saying delivered, can assure you it was not. called restaurant and person on phone was rude and uncooperative, informed the female on phone what app said and her response was its round the corner and hung phone up. as a manager for a major high Street food company the person on the call is in desperate need of customer service training. with employees like that you are sure to receive a number of complaints. have been a customer of this place for over 30 years but no more.

Food order recieved incorrect had to call them and drive up to collect correct item!

The fish and chips were great, hot fresh tastey . Let down by the curry sauce. It came in a pot with a thick skin on it and had a funny taste. I still enjoyed it.

pizza crunch was very soggy, should be crispy, need to start leaving items in hot plate longer. Could not eat chips either because of the puddle of grease left behind by pizza crunch. extremely disappointed, chip shop is the best in area , first bad review in years.

Superb place to eat in or take away fish and chips. Scampi is also very good. Lovely. Would be even better if they sold dessert.

Food arrived 45 mins before estimated time with no prior notifications.. Unfortunately the jumbo fish was a soggy mess. And same size a normal single fish. Prices you charge I'd expect better

30 mins from notification of delivery on the way till delivery actual arrived - less than 1 mile from shop - no suprise it was cold on arrival

Ordered it at 6:50pm. Delivery was meant to be 7:45pm-8:05pm, it's now 8:50pm and no sign of it. We phoned at 8:15pm as it had shown as out for delivery and then briefly showed as delivered. We were told that it was out for delivery at that point, we live 5 mins from the place so should have been here long ago. I'd have collected it if I hadn't been unwell and my wee one hadn't been unwell. Really disappointed and just had to call and cancel as it's been so long since we ordered and the food will have been sitting out for ages in the car so cold and hard.

Just took my son in for a couple of supper and curry sauce was told at 7.45 no sauce left. Why couldn’t they make some it’s powder and water I’m a chef could have e done it myself 5 people standing doing nothing and no one could be bothered brilliant service

Drove past this well known cafe, after news of an accident on the M8 at Newhouse. On seeing it was busy (a queue of customers is usually a good sign in my world) it was time for a large fish supper to address pangs of hunger. On entering, it was all rather chaotic, with lots of staff on duty but little clarity as to ordering and uplift. In fact there was very little in the way of a warm greeting from staff, some of whom looked rather disinterested in their customers. The sit-in area was busy and it looked like it serves a broad range of clientele - it also appeared clean and tidy - so rather inviting. Our food was cooked fresh to order and unlike our recent visit to The Fish Works in Largs - the portion control was certainly on the generous side and the prices looked fair. Also worth commenting on the quality of the fish and chips - decent sized fillets and cooked by a fryer with a deft hand at his craft. If we were to criticise the cooked fish, then we would restrict our criticism to the breadcrumb coating being applied slightly on the heavy side but that is maybe what the Bellshill folk prefer? The chips were outstanding in terms of size, flavour and colour - with zero defects or inedible bits. Rather tasty meal and we were really not unhappy with the Bellshill pricing structure - maybe there's more competition in this part of Lanarkshire. Note to management - encourage your staff to be more welcoming and smile because your core offering (fish and chips) was rather good.

I will never be ordering from them the fish was cooked in an old oil you can see it and smell it no taste at all the chips were soaking everything went to the bin avoid at all cost

food was cold , peas , curry sauce chips all freezing. Pickles we ordered was all the green ones which are gross first time I'd say I was really disappointed in my order, large chips and cheese had hardly any chips in it too I'd hate to see a regular!

just about 10 minutes late not the main problem food cold chicken undercooked been a loyal customer for about 30 years but food been a bit of a hit or miss lately

Food was not the greatest we’ve had. That’s the last two times it’s been underwhelming sadly, and the Alhambra has always been a mainstay of ours. Fritters were too soggy and greasy totally inedible, chips soft and mushy no texture to them or taste. Haggis wasn’t crisped enough and steak pie was over cooked. Feels like the end of an era

delivery time good but food was cold.

Got fish supper a couple months ago and the fish batter was soggy and I vowed never to go back. But then heard it had changed hands and new fryers were there so tried again on Fri 1 Feb and was the same story. 2 large suppers, so 4 bits of fish, and every one of them soggy batter. Won’t be back.

Two fish special,..excellent quality of fish,.. fish size perfect, but portion size of chips seems to be smaller

Chips were stone cold and fish batter was soggy and barely warm as well . I’m really surprised at this as I heard it was a good chippy , maybe not able to keep up with workload and food quality suffered as a result .

Absolutely delicious fish suppers on a Friday night. Massive portions all cooked to order. Excellent value for money and friendly, efficient staff.

Absolutely disgusting attitude of staff leave you on phone for 20 mins trying to order food. then give you a mouth full when they finally pick phone back up

Noticed the portion size of chips are getting smaller

Food was decent but shouldn’t take nearly 2 hours later at night for 2 suppers.

Food ordered saturated in salt all over food and paper wrapping. Also no sauce included with order as requested. Note on wrapping mentioning sauce included. Could not eat meal due to salt overload.

Don’t waste your time phoning ahead it’s not ready for you when you arrive. You need to wait along with everyone else

Food not the best only used it as the work paid for our dinner but definitely won't buy from Sandro's chip shop in Coatbridge far better quality
