I have just had a Sunday lunch at The Bell. The food, staff, service and management are stunning. It was an event not just food. Thank you all. Just book here it great x

Had very tasty meals here. I had the tortilla covered in chesse and a very tasty salsa. My friends shared the baked Camembert and a massive prawn cocktail. Great local IPA and a great vegan burger. Top notch attentive service. A real happy find

We all throughly enjoyed our meal at The Bell Inn. The food was very hot and delicious. The soup was tasty with a small baguette. The chicken wings were plentiful. I chose the steak and ale pie as we've tried a few over time so wanted to compare. The pastry was lovely and had plenty of meat. Someone else had the scampi and said it was good. The service was efficient and friendly. We would go again.

Staying in this location currently for work and this place is adorable. The portion sizes are huge and the staff are so friendly. Love that the place is also dog friendly too! Always a bonus. Great menu & great prices especially considering how big the portion sizes are!! Will definitely be back when I’m in this area again

We went here to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday. There were 12 of us and the whole night was amazing. The food and service were faultless. Very generous portion sizes and all cooked to perfection and hot. Staff were very attentive and looked after us well. Would highly recommend a visit.

Been to The Bell Inn several times, the food is always delicious, well presented and great value, staff are always friendly, attentive and happy.

Great food , good portions and hard working staff highly reccomend. Just a slight issue with a wheelchair using the toilets.

Fabulous family meal for my wife’s birthday .. eight of us plus Jim dog (dogs allowed) in the snug.. super ambience …friendly staff and amazing food.. try the fabulous steak and ale and chicken pies, the hanging chicken skewer.. the super fresh fish and chips .. tremendous value for money. Plenty of choice too if you have a sweet tooth. Excellent range of ales .. and a winter roaring fires. We will be back there very soon .. book well in advance to ensure you get your table .

We've tried to get into the Bull for several weeks for Sunday lunch , however its a fairly small restaurant - went to day with my wife for lunch as the weather was miserable and cold . We booked just in case as it was still busy - so we had prawn cocktails and liver and bacon - meals from our distant past but comforting . Service was friendly and efficient - food was very good indeed , I think the prawns were probably frozen but really nice served with hot bread and butter -liver was excellent , real bacon, superb mash and onion gravy - heartwarming - great all round . So please dont go on a sunday as it means we cant get a table !

We came here for dinner for the first time this month and would definitely return and recommend to others. All 8 guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the food was delicious. We went there for dinner, it was great the service is first class the food is excellent there is a cozy feel to the place and it is clean. It’s also very reasonable and better value than slot of other places in the area.

We had a family together and Sunday lunch at The Bell. We all had a roast, choosing different meats, which we all enjoyed. Our choices were served with perfectly cooked roast potatoes, stuffing and gravy. We all had plenty of meat and vegetables to add to the meal, all beautifully cooked. Deserts were amazing, especially the sticky toffee pudding and the crème brûlée. Highly recommended.

We have been trying to book here a few times now and been unsuccessful as it’s always full, we how ever did manage to book for a Saturday afternoon for lunch and now we know why !! As soon as you walk through the door you get a lovely cosy welcome with real fires burning, and very friendly. We had a couple of drinks in the bar which was priced reasonably and then went through for our lunch . The menu is extensive and very hard to make a choice. There is also a special board. We all chose something different and empty plates all round. They have a great pie selection and I must say one of the best I have ever had. We will definitely be returning to try one of their Sunday lunches and going to book well in advance and cannot wait.

I pre-arranged a meal for 13 of us. The day before one lady was taken ill, the staff were fine with her cancellation. Then, on the day, another lady joined us. Again no problem. The food was appetising, plentiful and delicious. Cleared plates all along the table. Everyone enjoyed themselves and admitted it was a great choice for our fet together. many thanks to the staff and chef.

Book early to avoid disappointment, can see why, went as a family of eight for Sunday lunch it was a table of plenty. Hard to beat us as we love our grub but huge portions of very delicious food, we had a variety of starters and roasts all first class, served with loads of veg. If you can manage a pudding very yummy especially chocolate orange cheesecake. Our table was in the snug and very cosy a lovely country pub in the village. The waitresses were friendly, and looked after us well. By far the best place to eat in area and prices are very reasonable would no doubt return, we had a lovely Sunday family pre Christmas lunch.

We went to the pub for my birthday lunch, and it was a lovely experience all round. The food was delicious, and we all highly recommend the chicken wings! Hands down the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. For pudding we had Malteser and salted caramel cheesecake. This was great too! Staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. What a lovely place. Probably the best value Sunday roast I’ve had in a decade, £17 enormous and lovely quality. Couldn’t finish it. Top tip: skip the starter. Quick friendly service and super efficient. Great atmosphere and lovely open fire in the main bar. Free WiFi and Ales great too. What more could you ask for. Book early, it’s popular amongst the locals. Will be back again soon myself.

Pleasant servers, delicious food in a quaint, historic pub. A real treat. Try the prawn cocktail, filet or the hanging chicken kabob and, of course, the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Best chips ever!

The food here is really good - proper pies with pastry all around (none of that 'pot with a pastry lid' rubbish here) and properly packed with meat too. I had the chicken & ham and my wife had the steak & ale and both were excellent. Can't comment on the beers unfortunately, as I was driving, but there seemed to be a good choice including locally brewed ales. Recommended!

The Bell in Bovingdon is fantastic. Delicious food, warm, friendly welcome and efficient service. Nothing is too much trouble. We have two children with additional needs, which our requests accommodated for. The atmosphere is relaxing and cosy. Whenever we are visiting Warner Bros Studio Tours we go to the Bell, highly recommend it. We had the famous hanging chicken kebabs with satay sauce, fish and chips, children's chicken goujons, chicken sweet chilli wrap followed by chocolate fudge brownie and vanilla creme brulee. All completely delicious!

What a great old world pub with delicious food. I took my family here yesterday and enjoyed a wonderful homemade moussaka.
