Visited a few times & always impressed with great customer service, quality food & portion sizes + great choice of beers & ales makes this place great for any occasion! I like to take international work colleagues here, as I feel it represents everything good about a traditional British inn

First time visiting, Sunday lunch for 2. Cannot fault this place in anyway, good comms regards what is obviously a very popular location for food, helpfull staff topped of with excellent Sunday lunch. Opted for the pork, looking at other plates all the meats were as equally well cooked. Good traditional Sunday lunch in a pub, cant say more. Would i advise others to go YES, will i be revisiting ....... can`t wait.

Booked for Sunday lunch - when we arrived car park was full and the pub clearly busy. On arrival (were running a bit late anyway) - advised the table was still being cleared but only took a few minutes. Bar staff advised they were busy and slightly short staffed and generally staff did seem to be coping well and had a fairly calm atmosphere. Seated at a large table and reviewed the menu and drinks option. Only wanted a bottle of wine and water for the table - all quickly provided. Minor niggle the water only had a couple of ice cubes and a single slice of lime. Had to wait for a manager to order the mains as we knew what we wanted. Party of 4 - three of us went for the lamb and one pork Sunday roast. Order came pretty promptly considering the restaurant was pretty full. Mains delivered but had to wait a small amount of time for the veg and to get the requested sauces - but the staff were all pleasant about it. Lamb was definitely pink as described with a good portion with the roasties and sausage too. All very tasty - as noted on the last review the veg is lacking a bit of care - the red cabbage very tasty but some of the other veg are just cut too thin and missing out on some attention. Overall all the party did enjoy the food and the request for some extra gravy was quickly met. The choice of puddings is pretty good - and one pair opted for the sharing plate and the other shared the sundae dessert. All the puddings were really good and tasty and an excellent plateful for sharing. Did find the base on the banofee pie was a bit too fine a crumb. Overall really good but could still have a few improvements to be really outstanding but certainly one of the best Sunday lunches around. The value I would say is good as the quality of the meat was excellent. Would still recommend and return.

Our favourite restaurant (many years ago) was the Three Crowns at Brinkworth, so when we discovered they had moved to the Bell Inn we had to go. We had the cheese dumplings - too doughy and not enough cheese and then the shoulder of lamb which was absolutely 'yummy'. We were going to go for the steak, but weren't keen on the choice of sauces. The Three Crowns used to do a Cafe de Paris sauce which was so good, but even a bernaise sauce would have been fine. No, not as good as the Three Crowns was, but definitely potential to get there. Staff friendly, service good, so we'll definitely go again.

The ‘sample menu’ online was a lot better than what you get. The menu we were given when we visited bore little resemblance to what I had seen on their website. Prices were pretty high for what I would suggest is pretty average food. The veg looked over cooked and like it had been sitting around for a while, and as for the chips, seven of them. Yep, seven chips. Disappointing. We won’t be rushing back.

Lunch today for five people on a very special occasion. We shared a range of delicious starters, somehow leaving room for the main courses. Very good choice and accompaniment of fresh vegetables served, as should be, in separate dishes. One of our group had side order chips, another opted for cheese dumplings. My meal was belly pork with bubble and squeak. Delicious. Staff friendly and patient - we dithered about the choices. Atmosphere cosy as we sat in a small 'snug' area. This lunch was part of a birthday present for my son and I was delighted with everything at The Bell Inn.

Me my parents and my partner have been holidaying in the Cotswolds- our very first time here. We stayed in a place called Malmesbury. We visited this pub on our second evening and it was lovely. We booked a table online which was so easy to do. We was welcomed by such friendly staff and the whole evening was a lovely atmosphere, very busy but very nice. We ordered our drinks and browsed through the menus. Lots of choices! I had the honey ham egg and chips served with salad and homemade coleslaw. The ham was honestly the best I have ever had. It wasn’t I fatty it tasted great! My partner had the Bell Inn burger- this was a good burger! My parents both had the pie which they both commented on how tasty it was, tender meat and homemade pastry! Finished with chips and a side of vegetables. Puddings was 2 Black Forest brownies again very nice and a bannofie pie which was very tasty indeed. We had such a lovely evening and we would 100% recommend this. If we return to the Cotswolds we would be visiting here again. Really lovely meal out.

This is our go-to restaurant for an indulgent treat. £90+ for 3 of us, including a couple of rounds of drinks - and we will be back again as it’s excellent food here. I I do think that the overall ambience of the restaurant needs a bit of attention. The spotlight lit restaurant area doesn’t give off a cosy / romantic feel. There are no plants, no flowers, just 1 tiny tea-light on the table. The walls in the restaurant area are adorned with old farming tools, small odd pictures, a (fake) zebra head & old shotguns.. plus a giant American eagle wooden carving - all a bit confused in terms of theming. Last night’s butterfly chicken was a very small chicken breast. Way smaller than what you can get in a supermarket- I was surprised that it was served up in this wonderful gastro place. We recently bought a pack of Hunters chicken from Jesse’s farm shop in cirencester & the chicken breasts were enormous in comparison! My daughter enjoyed it anyway & taking portion sizes for kids into account we let it slide - but if I’d have been served that for £21 a plate- I don’t think I’d have accepted it. Photo included - quartered mushrooms for scale. Chips lovely. Take your own English mustard if you want it - as it’s a bit weak in comparison to what’s served at The Royal. Burger excellent & a welcome addition to the menu. Salmon/prawn Pernod, not a fault with it. Yummy.

Really disappointed, have been before which was obviously good as wouldn't return, ordered a bitter shandy which was completely flat , not a good start. Starters were fine. Main meal was awful, had butterflied chicken . The chicken was as tough as old boots , couldn't cut with the knife provided, vegetables all overcooked and microwaved to a temperature that was off the scale. Did manage to pull a couple of mouthfuls of chicken off but so tough I had to send it back. Fifteen minutes later my meal was served, this time I was given a steak knife and although it was a lot better it wasn't the best I've had by a long way. We didn't have a sweet but ordered a coffee and all four of us thought that was pretty awful as well, very weak. I didn't get charged for my meal but won't be returning. Staff were good.

Lovely country pub to stop by for a bit of lunch! The staff were really friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was great. We sat outside in the beer garden and it was beautiful - lots of flowers, and partly enclosed (with some swings!) so we'd happily bring our kids with us next time. Inside was clean, and clearly well looked after. Main meals off the lunch menu were absolutely delicious and the perfect size (leaving just enough room for that £5 dessert!). Would heartily recommend!

Came here for a meal with some with colleagues on Tuesday evening. Nice pub with interesting decor. I had the crispy cheese dumplings for my starter. Never seen anything like this before, but they were really really good. Three large deep fried balls with a slightly firm mashed potato texture and a lovely cheesy flavour. Definitely the most interesting starter I've ever had, and I would 100% like to eat more of these in the future (unfortunately I live 250 miles away!) For my main I had the special which was fish and chips. Very good thin batter and good quality fish inside. After the filling starter I was happy that the fish wasn't crazy big (was a good sized portion though so not complaining). It came with plenty of really nice well cooked chips and a large amount of very nice fresh salad. We were all stuffed so no one had desserts! Service was very good also. I would definitely recommend the food here and would happily come back if I'm ever in the area in future.

Whilst on holiday in the area we called into this pub for a drink just to see what it was like before booking for a meal a few days later. On entering a young lady asked if we had a table booked then directed us...

Looking for a restaurant for dinner we were lucky enough to discover The Bell. Really helpful and friendly staff and a meal which will take some beating. My husband opted for the sirloin steak and I had the special (steak with a mushroom and Madeira...

Fab. Food superb. Excellent service. Felt like the 3 crowns, just a little smaller on space. Everything felt back to normal. We will be back x

Over the years, I have followed the Taskers around as Guy is a really good chef (I don't know him but I know that is his name from their website!). I used to eat at the Three Crowns, then the Weighbridge, briefly Langley Tap and...

Lovely food but not a lot of choice. Went here for lunch but the menu was more geared up for an evening meal, no lighter bites or sandwiches etc, not everyone wants a full meal at lunch time. Even some regular dishes like fish &...

Stopped on a trip from Cinderford to Romsey , have driven past many times but never had time to stop, husband and son had ‘small ‘ breakfast and I had toast and jam, the breakfast was a great size, quickly served and tasted great, really good value for money . Toilets and rest of premises are really clean and can’t wait to visit again

Popped into here on a recommendation while cycling. Lovely hidden spot with great cakes and coffee. Bike friendly with lots of bike parking, pumps and spare tubes. Would definitely recommend a stop here!

Ok so Lynne and I are back at The New Inn with friends having yet another superb meal. We have now eaten here a few times and I feel I should commend the staff and the chef ( who we found out his name was Ronnie ) very nice touch when he comes out of the kitchen personally to ask if everything is ok. Once again superb service and our friends also commented on how lovely this superb pub/restaurant is. Even when we pop in for a snack Pizza that is just superb. Well done all at The New Inn. we certainly will be back and so will our friends. You guys deserve to do well as you always go the extra mile. Thank you, so refreshing in this day and age . We will be booking for a meal again l this Saturday night with some more friends. all the very best Ian & Lynne

The Bradley Hare is an elegant enterprise but tends to cater for diners and private parties rather than dog walkers looking for a pint and a sandwich; indeed the lunchtime snack menu is almost non existent. On occasions the bar closes completely to facilitate private functions. In short, the Bradley Hare is perhaps more of a "restaurant with rooms" rather than a traditional hostelry.
