I ordered a ploughman’s with a side of fries & my partner ordered a lasagne, you would think that it would be difficult to serve up a poor ploughman’s.. but not here .. pickled onions 🧅 that were rotten and well past a use by date, the most basic of iceberg lettuce with a piece of chopped pepper, brown apple slices & some other awful tasting looking picked white cabbage 👎 chips that were full of black eyes, the only saving grace was the ham, The lasagne had been clearly been made some days previous and was just over cooked & subsequently reheated a few times to end up dry with chewy Pasta 👎 seriously these are Not difficult meals to turn out! Incredibly poor & just goes to reiterate why sometimes you are better off with a restaurant chain - don’t wast your money on food here - awful 👎

Need to up their game on real ales. Both as flat as pancakes and the golden ale had hints of TCP. Flush the pipes perhaps? Food ok, but expensive for what we had.

Disappointed....Took 2 colleagues for lunch. Only 2 other customers. Food took 40 mins. My chicken curry was dried out chicken in a sauce that was no way curry, not a spice in it that I could discern. Colleagues both had Lasagne, one was hot, one tepid. Girl who served us simply disappeared. Bill exorbitant. Last ate here 8 months ago and nothing to complain about.

We visited here several times whilst staying locally. It is a small community pub with exceptionally welcoming staff - we also enjoyed chatting to the very friendly regulars. It was quiet whenever we visited… food is good value and local ales are priced around £4 per pint. It has a small bar and a nice log burner surrounded by some armchairs. We loved the place and felt thoroughly welcomed.

Stopped off at the Bell in for a quick pint at the weekend just before some friends got married in the church opposite. Friendly staff and great menu. Think I’ll pop back for a meal as what I saw looked really great.

Called in for a Sunday lunch. Large portions and lovely service but the food was somewhat school-dinnerish.Veg overcooked and just so much! Meat was goodDesserts were good ( again HUGE!)Atmosphere and service excellent, serve smaller portions and cook the veg ( carrots, sprouts, cabbage etc) to order- that would be a big improvement to having everything prepared and kept warm

We wanted a Sunday lunch where we could avoid driving. Visitor book recommended this pub. Really good meal. Roasts were the order of the day so no real choice, but together with local vegetables, it was delicious. Cooked to perfection. Children ate every bit! Lovely home made puddings and cakes for dessert. Friendly and professional service. Excellent value for money. Wanted to go back another night but were told pub did not open till 7 pm.Too late for kids.

Have been a few times for Sunday lunch and found good honest food; no pre-cooked stuff, but good food cooked in their kitchen. Good service.

Went here for a lunch time snack. The owners and locals were lovely, very friendly and chatty. Food is a reasonable price and they love dogs. Big roaring fire and plenty of tables too.

The Bell Inn Winsham Chard,is in the heart of this lovely village on the borders of devon/somerset/dorset.You will be assured of a warm welome and excellent honest pub food , cooked to order and perfection. The Sunday Roast is great value.Children are warmly welcomed and catered for.Dogs with their well behaved owners are also welcomed. There is a car park and seating outside. This is a traditional pub with no TV or music(sometimes a little background music) where one goes for a drink, meal and to chat. This is a very friendly village and i can honestly say that this is one of the best pubs i have visited with my family on holiday in the UK.Our 3rd visit.

Very busy but the staff dealt with it well and we were more than happy! Had a few pints too! Probably explains why my wife left her glasses behind! It's OK, we got them back the next day!

A nice, modernly appointed pub in the heart of the village. A friendly welcome and a roaring log fire in the middle of the pub makes this place very homely.Well cooked food and great pies, well worth a stop if staying near-by or driving through.

We visit the Bell Inn from time to time for sunday lunch. The landlord always remembers us and we feel very welcome. The puddings are not quite up to the standard of the excellent main course, but are still good. Great value for money and good beer!

we visited this village pub for Sunday lunch last week and I have to say it was outstanding. not the pub - but the food! Choice was Pork, beef or chicken- all freshly cooked., and between the 4 of us we had all three choices. The veg were done to perfection and were not frozen but fresh too. Carrots, cabbage, brocolli and cauliflower. All meats came with roast and boiled potatoes and yorkshire, and a jug of gravy. Lovely choice of desserts, we all had homemade apple crumble- some with ice cream some with custard, followed by a nice cup of coffee and all for the princely sum of £9.in Surrey where I live the roast dinner would have cost more than that and probably have been prepared in the Brake Brothers factory first! We will certainly be dinning there again when we are in that part of Somerset.

We don’t live far from BOS so decided to drive down for a couple of hours. It was a very cold day so decided just to have some lunch then head home :-))) We noticed this little cafe and decided to pop in, there was a table right next to the window/door so we went to the back of the restaurant for some warmth, sadly the staff kept leaving the door at the back open even when my husband kept going and closing it. But apart from that hiccup the food was very nice, and I would return but when the weathers warmer :-))))

We had a great Carvery lunch on a Sunday a couple if weeks ago. There were 9 people plus a dog and this was accommodated very easily. Service and food was very nice and we'll definitely go back again.

Superb atmosphere, the best steak I’ve had in my life! (10oz fillet) chef was so down to earth and welcoming - showed us different cuts of steak and told us about their source. Went above and beyond for service - orders taken quickly and all staff friendly and polite. Felt a very cosy and happy little village pub. Will definitely be back for more steak and the fresh salad bowls that come with it! :) Thank you so much ☺️
