First visit to The Bell today for Sunday lunch and wasn’t disappointed! Stumbled across it a little and had booked based on reviews. Beef for me and lamb for him with a side of cauliflower cheese of course! Love that the condiments all come out without having to ask and then getting a thimble full! Good gravy, Yorkies and good selection of veg. It tasted properly home cooked and will definitely be back!

I have never been disappointed at The Bell but for the 1st time I was on the evening of the 1st October.. Went for Dinner with friends. I had the 10oz Ribeye Steak and everything was gorgeous but half of the Ribeye I couldn't eat because it was all 'gristle'.. Inedible. I mentioned it to the Staff and was told it was 'Marbling'.. It was definitely not. They spoke to the Chef and the message that came back was 'Can't do anything about it, it's just the way the Steaks comes to us'.. I wasn't expecting anything but thought I would have had a better response, the staff did apologise but it was like 'oh well it happens from the Chef'. Anyway my thoughts are that a Chef should know by the look of the Steak wether it be good enough to cook for a Customer etc?. Eitherway I still recommend The Bell. Never ever had a problem there..so don't not go, it's a, wonderful place. Just wanted to make my point.

I've been here several times. This time, with my eldest son, on our way back from a shopping trip. It's a dog friendly pub, fortunately, as we had Nelson, my sons dog, with us. Water and biscuits were supplied for him without us asking. Staff are polite, courteous, and helpful. We sat outside at the back overlooking the bowling green as it was a fairly warm day. Our food was served promptly and was very tasty.

We took a friend here for anafternoon tea treat, whilst the 'snug' area was nice, the pub was absolutely dead. What was really disappointing was the actual afternoon tea, it was a real let down. There was essentially what amounted to one and a half sandwiches between us, a couple of falafels and doughnuts and brownies and 3 scones that were very dry. This is not a traditional afternoon tea. There should be a selection of small sandwiches, a selection of small cakes including cream cakes and of course the scones should be fresh and warm. Falafels and small doughnuts should not be included in an afternoon tea. I felt so embarrassed as it was supposed to be a treat for my friend who had never experienced an afternoon tea whereas we frequent afternoon teas up and down the country. The price also did not reflect the quality and the amount of food at £45 for three people it is overpriced and underwhelming.

Nice cosy old school pub with a good variety of drinks and a lovely menu. Friendly service and attentive staff. Me & my family always have great meals here. We have been for lunch, evening meals, and even breakfasts on Sat/Sun mornings! They are always good at altering meals for our requests (such as chips instead of mash, gravy on the side etc) and there is always something for our family members who are gluten-free & diary-free. We have had birthday meals here as well, even for groups as much as 12 (but obviously booked in advance as a large group) & it's always enjoyable and a good atmosphere in the pub. Great beer garden with plenty of seats, outdoor heaters, flower beds, a bowling green, and all with such a pretty backdrop of a church and mighty old trees. It's definitely a hidden gem! The pub is an old coaching station inn, so the only thing is that the bar corridor can be tight for space when there is a queue for the bar, but everyone is always in good spirits to get past each other if needed, etc. Plus, it is all part of the pubs old school charm! So go with a smile and enjoy the buildings history as well as the food and drink. 😉

The best casual pub in Harborne. Spent many hours in the cosy, timber rooms and beautiful exterior (self-controlled heated area under cover!), drinking, eating and playing cards with loved ones. Highly recommend the burgers and their Sunday roast, with unlimited roasties! They have a very popular and brilliant pub quiz (recommend booking a table to guarantee a spot) Thursday and Sundays.

This is the second time we have been here for food..food also very nice the first time.except when our plates came out there was about 12 chips lol..but then Al very nice person a big man with beard n glasses nme unknown sorted us out..today the 25/8.there was seven of us all sueezed up in the corner,ok not a problem but just a bit uncomfortable..my partner had the 3 roast..the others had lamb shank..my self I had the prime beef..now tbh it was absolutely fantastic met jut melt in the mouth none of us left anything but bone..LOVELY FOOD. My only gripe was the beer it was terrible and I mean terrible totally flat..now to me either the glasses are not left to dry long enough or you need to clean the lines at least 2 maybe even 3 times a week..there was 2 men behind the bar plus a young lady and they did change the beer for us..service was nice n efficient...Good points..food very nice 4.8/5..friendly staff 4.8/5..beer sorry but its only a 3..we will be returning soon for breakfast so let's give that a bash...thank you all a pleasure to visit..

After an unfortunate car-related incident, my mum and I needed to wait several hours on a Friday evening for roadside assistance. As a result, we walked into The Bell for a bite to eat and somewhere warm and accommodating to sit. We couldn’t have been more delighted with the food, service and atmosphere at The Bell! The food came quickly (my mum and I both had the Lamb Shank) and was really delicious, the lamb fell off the bone, and the entire dish was rich and warming. Steve the barman was incredible, helping us both with phone charging, offering many a friendly chat and generally going above and beyond. The whole team was concerned for our situation and very kind throughout our visit. The pub is lovely, and in the gorgeous area of Harborne, next to an historic church - all very picturesque! Thank you Steve and the team for making our bad day so much brighter! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arrived Saturday evening at 8.30 pm to an empty pub! The setting is stunning. Quaint traditional pub, with a bowling green, next door to a church. We took a seat at the table with our name on and still no one approached us. My husband went to the bar to say we were here and was told he needed to order drinks there. He was also told we had to make our menu choices on the next 15 minutes, at the bar. One person ordered the steak and venison pie to be told it wasn’t available. The sticky chicken skewer starter was just cold chicken on salad with sauce drizzled over. Apparently the lamb shank was good and the chicken pie was ok. The hake and scallop tagliatelle was very disappointing- very salty and far too many capers. All in all a very disappointing experience with a total lack of service. Such a shame as the place itself is so lovely.

Reserved a table, we came in and the table was covered in alcohol, food and used straws, even though it had our reserved sign on it. Not a single person at the bar so we asked one of the waitresses where to order drinks and she said if we wait at the bar someone will be there in 5 seconds… so we went back to the bar and she was the one going back to the bar, so what’s the need for the attitude. We asked for a sangria spritz from their summer menu and was flat out told they don’t serve sangria. I had to argue that it’s on your menu! Surely you serve it?? They checked and just like that, they do serve it, so we get the sangria (without the fruit and ice as advertised) and sit back down. Later we order a tea to the table as my mother in law is cold due to their heat lamps not working, all other tables had their drinks brought to our table, not us, the same waitress comes out to the front of the pub and shouts ‘who ordered a tea’ Much to the bemusement of all the England fans sitting watching the game who started to jeer and laugh about someone ordering a tea at the pub, she knew what she was doing. Never coming back to such awful service.

Unfortunately the service let us down, as a group of 4 ordering separately we expected our food to come out at different times but not 25 mins apart..one meal seemingly had been totally forgotten about. £15 for a burger that was missing ingredients and presented in a half hearted way left us feeling underwhelmed. Had breakfast here and was quite decent. If they had Lashfords sausages I'd give it another star. Great value for money and the service was very good. I'd recommend and I'll be back in the future.

This is our third time to dine here. Myself and my partner came here on our first date and have marked the occasion by returning for a meal on the day each year. Its a lovely, intimate and tastefully decorated room in the castellated section of a great house which was later converted to a hotel. Stained glass windows look out on to a moat. The restaurant is AA Rosette 2*. The food quality and preparation is faultless. The wine selection is very good. The prices are in line with what can be expected in an establishment such as this. The staff are very polite and friendly but not stuffy. The chap who served us on 4th October was a lovely guy. We both enjoyed our food immensely and they don't skimp on portions (it's not nouvelle cuisine) so much so that I skipped what looked like an excellent selection of dessert and finished with a double espresso. I don't know if I'll wait another year for our fourth visit. Its too good!

Very nice place. Today I had the Breakfast Quesadillas and it was perfection. So fresh, tasty, well presented and great value for money. The lounge & large breakfasts need more beans though.....!
