Great place to meet friends on a sunny afternoon in the garden. Inside looked good too. Had a good range of drinks, will happily return. Clean toilets.

We arrived by canal boat and decided to try this place after visiting the Towpath Inn last year. It was a great choice. A beautiful little inn, lots of character with a well stocked bar. The staff were polite and helpful. The steak and chips were delicious. If we are ever back down in this area, we would definitely return. Good value for money.

We were very disappointed to find that this pub isn't dog friendly as their website says they are. We had driven about 20 mins to get to the pub and to find 2 signs one on either side of the door saying no dogs was a massive let down. They need to amend the wording on the website. We've taken it off our list of pubs to visit now !

Our friends were visiting from Bristol and we suggested a walk from Llanfoist to Gilwern along the old railroad and then back along the canal. We planned a quick pitstop at The Beaufort for a drink but ended up staying for lunch which was fabulous! There was so much choice (we chose the faggots and the steak pie) We were all really impressed. The food was delicious and great quality and value for money. And the service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend lunch here. The Beaufort has a nice cosy family feel to it. Thank you! It did make the walk back hard work though with our full bellies! Ha Ha!

No fine dining here, but fantastic Pub food, great service from the young staff and it's cheap. Around £20 a head for mains, puddings for half the group and a mix of beers and soft drinks. TVs in the bar area a little distracting but still a good meal and great value.

This place was amazing, great staff, and the food was perfect. I opted for the southern fried chicken burger and for dessert I had the lemon cheesecake. Both were fantastic and my family were all happy with theirs too. One staff member was particularly busy but she still talked to me. All in all a great experience and would definitely recommend!

We were in the Abergavenny area and we wanted a pub lunch, so we found this place, which seemed to be very clean and welcoming. We ordered a main course and desert each, which I must say was worth every penny. My home made steak and kidney pie was delicious and so was the apple pie and custard. Service was prompt and the staff made us feel special. For me The Beaufort Armd ticked all the boxes.

We came here for dinner after our narrow boat holiday. It's maybe a 5 minute walk from the Narrow Boats so really convenient and was suggested to us by staff. Firstly, we arrived before dinner had started so were told there would be a wait but we could sit, relax and have some drinks whilst we looked over the menu. Lots of choice on the menu so everyone will find something. It was maybe half an hour before official dinner service started that our orders were taken and we actually received our meals before the stated dinner time! The food we had was lovely (interesting cauliflower bites which gave usually bland cauliflower a nice kick, creamy garlic mushrooms). My main (Katsu curry) was delicious - really creamy, plenty of flavour but not spicy. Added a side salad which was plentiful. If we're back in the area, this is somewhere we'd come back to!

Fantastic pub, Greeted by a great front of house called Mal, a short friendly man with impeccable manners and great service. Had a lovely conversation about how Mal ended up working in the pub and it seems hospitality really helped him turn things around. It was felt that Mal really cares about the costumers as if he’s not working he stays for a drink with them, seeing this gave me a good sense of community lovely to see how this village pub brings people together

As the Navigation Inn, Bridgend Inn and Lion Inn Hotel are at present closed and the Corn Exchange only serves food on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights choice for a sit down meal in Gilwern are now extremely limited. There is the highly renown Fish and Chip shop but they offer a take away only service. Travelling the canal we wanted a sit down meal and so went to the Beaufont Arms. Don't be put off by its slightly faded appearance. We received a very pleasant welcome from the lady behind the bar and a nod and greeting from a number of regulars seated around the bar nursing their pints and half pints. The menu is not overly extensive, a couple of different stakes, Fish, scampi, salads, pies and curry. It was curry night so I had a chicken Curry, the wife scampi. What was served was well cooked, tasty, and covered very large plates. The curry had taste, huge lumps of chicken and came with Rice, peas and chips! The scampi was of decent quality, the chips large (in size and volume) and peas and small salad garnish. Other boaters sitting near us had salads and pies. Whilst the servings were generous little was returned uneaten by anyone. Always a good sign. The beer was well kept and they have a guest beer as well as the house ales.I think this is traditionally described as "Harty" and if that's your thing you will not be disappointed.

9 of us for dinner. Just as well we had booked as the place was rammed! No surprises why! We had a fantastic meal. I think we had the best waitress I've ever experienced and the landlord and his wife/partner put in a good shift as well and obviously the chefs. What amazed me most was I could see into the kitchen and there only appeared to be 2 people in there and I didn't hear a raised word all the time I was there! Anyway top marks Hall Inn, we all loved the experience. My wife and I live in York and we will be definately coming back when we next visit.

We shared 6 Vegetable dishes for lunch today, plus a pud, and every mouthful was sensational. The dishes were complex and delicious, and very satisfying. It is difficult to find good vegetarian food that I can’t cook equally well at home. These dishes really were better than anything I’ve cooked, and there was plenty of choice. Plenty of choice for carnivores too. The chefs really know how to squeeze the maximum flavour out of every ingredient. The celeriac dish was my favourite , but we couldn’t decide which was our second favourite plate of deliciousness. We’ll be back.
