Shout out to Stephan who went above and beyond to help a housebound local resident in Bisley this week. I took a punt and enquired if they did cream teas for delivery locally and, despite this not being the norm, Stephan and his team put together the most amazing cold lunch platter with scones and delivered it without question. A new side line maybe? Thx Stephan.

Went for Sunday lunch with family and friends and had a fantastic meal! Limited Sunday roast only menu, would have been nice to have had a starter too, but the roast dinner itself was delicious and plenty of vegetables too. Desserts were very cake based, would have liked a bit more variety e.g. cheesecake, panna cotta. But we will definitely be back!!

A huge thanks to Lou and the team for looking after us so well during our large group’s visit. 18 of us had lunch whilst staying locally and the whole experience was fantastic. We had a lovely spot in the garden where our kids could roam without annoying too many other diners. Our preordered food was served promptly after arriving and the team just couldn’t do enough for us. Huge portions of good, honest pub food at a very reasonable price meant we were all extremely satisfied and impressed. We’ll look forward to coming back next time we are in the area!

Really excellent place. So glad we stumbled across this absolute gem of a bed and breakfatst. Super old building, built in the 1600s or so, fantastic history as it was the old courthouse for the village until 1720s when it was converted into an inn and was found to be so good it hasn't looked back for 300 years. Room was comfortable and well appointed, the bar was well-stocked and they stayed open just for us, even though we arrived late. The breakfast was DELICIOUS and the proprietor was just lovely. Highly recommend a visit!

Under new ownership since April 2024, we thought we'd pop back to The Bear. We went as a party of four couples. Only good things to say - the food is very good value pub grub - excellent burgers, lasagne, good steaks, and everything is home made (from the chips to the batter for the fish to the pastry for the pies). Only one criticism - the menu *looks awful*. It's like something out of a 1970s Happy Eater. But the food that's on it is great and I guess that's the most important thing. Good beers, wines and puddings too btw.

Thought we would pop out for a bite to eat, pub very quiet (8 people in the pub) told would be a 45 min wait before we could order, we thought although a little strange as pub empty no problem we will have a drink and sit in the garden… Drinks bought (maybe that was their the plan!) after 20 mins was told it would be a further 30 mins at least until could even take the order! If we had been told at the start it would take 75 mins to order we would have gone elsewhere! With time now getting late leaving us no time to go elsewhere, if it was packed I get it … but 8 people in the pub!!? Really?! No offer of a starter to keep us going or anything for the wait. Very weird experience with zero service skills , won’t be returning!

We visited the Bear Inn one Sunday as a family with a young baby and dog. One of us is a meat eater and the other vegan. We had a warm welcome , excellent wine and local lager to begin. They have a very good vegan menu but require notice for it which we couldn't give so we weren't expecting much choice, however they were able to offer us an excellent option, a squash wellington which was fantastic. The pork roast was also brilliant. Generous portions, good prices and service could not have been better. It was a gorgeous day and their little grassy garden with shade was a beautiful haven for both dog and little one. Absolute treat. Perfect afternoon. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

THE BEAR Inn in Bisley has “an awful lot of character and history” Loved a ALE sat around the open fire. The Bear Inn is a sixteenth-century building which was originally the village court house and assembly room. It was originally recorded as a pub in 1631 and has been in service ever since. It has a priest hole above the fireplace, and is reputedly haunted.

Me and my husband came to stay here on Bonfire night weekend. The Inn itself is absolutely stunning, and our room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable with extra blankets if needed. The only "negative" I'd say about the room was that it didn't appear to have central heating, so when we arrived the room felt very cold, there is a pretty electric fire within the stone fireplace in the room tho, we switched it on and headed out for a walk around the village and so came back to a warmer room, however the heat didn't seem to reach the en-suite so that was left a tad cold. We also found that after our evening meal downstairs which by the way was absolutely lovely, we could hear the pub goers downstairs from up in our room. This didn't bother us too much as once the pub was closed it was very quiet and peaceful, but it may be something that could bother someone else in the future, as at times it seemed loud, however this could also have simply been that on that particular night, there was a loud group in and so normally hearing the bar through the ceiling isn't something that happens often and didn't last very long. The room did have a good selection of different teas to drink which was really nice and had everything else you'd need for a stay away from home. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and happy to talk to us about the history of the building which we found very interesting. By the evening the open fire down in the bar was lit and was very warm and cozy for our meal. Breakfast was also lovely. With both evening and breakfast menus having a great selection. There is a great deal of history throughout the village and the pub itself and it was lovely to be able to walk around the beautiful and quiet village and find all the little historic treasures still around. We would definitely stay here again, maybe next time in the summer so we can appreciate the beautiful building and village even more and would recommend to others 100%. It was perfect for what we wanted which was just a simple cozy romantic night away from home and children. I understand the owners are relatively new and we wish them the best of luck, and well done on bringing such an old beautiful building back to life. The Jennings'

We spent a night at the pub. The room we had was the deluxe king room and it was lovely and comfortable. We ate dinner in the pub and this was excellent. The food was all homemade and tasty. The menu has several Italian dishes...

Absolutely 💯% could not fault anything, greeted and taken to our table by Sam, given a glass of bubbly, and served by Kia and Tiana, we enjoyed both courses and then the boss came and took a picture 📸 fantastic 😀 thanks to all especially the chef 👨‍🍳 😀

Really good no frills pub food. Good value for money. Main courses two for the price of one. White bait good, Ribeye steaks cooked beautifully and were very tender. Homemade sauces both peppercorn and Stilton were very good.

INCREDIBLE. I’ve never been to a burger van that has given me quality food along with fantastic customer service. The portion sizes are great and the costs are low, always greeted with a smile every time. Not only that but the food tastes amazing. Highly recommend, will definitely be a regular from now on!

We enjoyed our Anniversary stay and meal at Hatton Court Hotel. All staff were polite, friendly and very efficient ensuring we had an enjoyable evening. The surroundings, atmosphere and ambiance were very pleasant. The menu had an excellent selection of food and wines to choose from, I enjoyed the crispy salt & pepper squid but in my opinion, after being served my ‘Bouillabaisse’ (fish stew!) I was underwhelmed, the lobster bisque was lacking flavour and missing the mussels (I didn’t initially realise there were none) the Sea Bass was very nice, but I did put in a late order of fries which arrived in no time at all. On the other hand my wife really enjoyed the Arancini, followed by Braised pulled beef feather blade. The bottle of Italian wine was very nice and paired well with the fish. We would not hesitate to eat here again, but my choice of mains would certainly be different.

I had a birthday meal with my family here once, the food was good and I had a nice time.
