We squeezed in the corner snug with locals and were made welcome straight away. The bar lady couldn’t have been more helpful. Trying to find the football match for us to watch. We stayed and loved it there. Lovely pint of Landlord and very affordable prices. We returned the next day but it was too full. See you again on our next visit for sure.

Totally ignored by bar staff last night - place will be shut down soon from the reviews. The bear used to be a great pub, homely feel.

Awful - entered with the intent of staying for a few drinks. The barmaid ignored us and continued to dry the glasses. The barman made eye contact, served the gentleman waiting then walked straight past us as we waited at the bar to continue his conversation with a group of ladies at the other end of the bar. Get some manners - If you dont like serving people - dont work in a pub!!!!!!!

Rudeness from what seemed to be the owners! Despicable attitudes loudly speaking with others about situations going on in the world with no regards to anyone else being there and should have really been in private. Also cleanliness and hygiene… don’t think they know what that is! God help them during covid. Definitely would not return!

Not sure what the management team were thinking on Bank holiday Monday when the weather was fantastic and only one member of staff behind the bar. Nevertheless, the wait wasn't too long due to his work ethic. The beer garden is a proper sun trap on cloudless days and not too badly furnished. The prices of the drinks here are good value for money and can compete with Wetherspoons. Ideally, a couple more real ales wouldn't go amiss as well as the ever increasingly popular craft beers

Boring, no character. Used to be a good local music pub. Now its just the same as any other sports bar.

We did not stay here but were passing through and called in at lunch time for a drink and sandwich. A good selection of real ales was available and tasted before we bought. We had a beef in ciabatta roll and a salmon sandwich. All was freshly prepared and well presented. Staff were efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was just what you want in a country pub. A great place, please try it.

My partner and I popped in for Sunday lunch on the way back from Wales. Food is served until 3pm and as it was so close to then, we checked it would be OK. The manager couldn't have been more obliging; it was no trouble and the food arrived quickly - and very hot! Lovely Sunday lunch with proper fresh vegetables, followed by dessert. There was a good range of beer and the pub was really pleasant. Good clean toilets too!

You have never eaten a ploughman's lunch till you try one at the bear, you will be hard pushed to eat it all, ploughmen must have enormous appetites. Phil and Kim, the owners of the Bear, are such wonderful people , nothing is to much trouble for them, they go that extra step to ensure your stay is a memorable experience .

Today I met with my three friends and their children for lunch and a play at The Bear Inn in Bridgnorth. We managed to park right at the back of the pub which was a bonus and only £2 to park all day. We arrived and were greeted by friendly helpful staff and some very happy chickens and ducks. The children all had a great time playing in the outside play area on the swings, slide, in the small sand pit and the older children played the giant connect four and naughts and crosses games which was great as it gave us grown ups an opportunity to talk whilst also keeping an eye on the children! For lunch the younger children enjoyed kids sandwich boxes; which had a fresh bread sandwich, carton of fresh juice, raisins, crisps, drawing pad, pencil, crayons, bubbles, animal mask and some sweets - as you can imagine the children were delighted!! For our lunch we had a ploughman's platter, panini's with various fillings and olives, hummus, salad and pitta bread.. all the food was presented beautifully and tasted lovely.. no complaints what so ever and very little left on the plates. Lovely service, fabulous food and great atmosphere. Thanks we'll be calling again!!

Six of us ate at The Bear recently and having just seen the' black cob' review I must add my thoughts.I can't imagine that the fastidious staff at The Bear would ever display unacceptable food and I am 100% certain that they would refuse to change a roll. The snacks are displayed on beautiful vintage stands and customers choose their own roll or tasty snack. So said review is hardly plausible! The garden is absolutely beautiful! So much work must have gone into it. The food was excellent too! We will and have been back!

We were on a coach trip from Liverpool when we saw the photos of the Bear on a large A board in the street and couldn't resist a visit . The garden is beautiful and I took many photos as I want to try and replicate some of the ideas that Kim the owner and gardener and cook has implemented. We all opted for the Greek salad and were delighted with our choice. There were five in our group and we all gave the food and venue 10/10. The salad was freshly made and arrived with a basket of warm crusty breadWe all recommend the bear for food and a warm welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff!

Bought 2 Cheese and Onion cobs here on Saturday 5 July, 1 was burnt black !!!! Top and Bottom, on requesting a replacement / refund and was told we can't do that, they come delivered in that state, its not our problem. Time I think to change their suppliers or better still the Bar Manager as the cobs must have been filled on the premises as they do meals etc. and can't / shouldn't have gone unnoticed. Last time I drink / snack here. !!!!!!! ,

Defensive manager does not value feedback! This place will therefore not improve. We visited the restaurant as believed it to be part of a good quality complex. Our arrival was greeted cheerfully and we were shown to a 2 seater table. That’s where any notion of customer service ended. My partner went up to the counter to order a starter and 2 meals…. Our drinks arrive promptly. …tick tick… 20 minutes go by. People who arrived after us start getting their meals… …tick tick… I go over and ask what’s happening. I’m told “It’s busy“ …tick tick… I ask again. “It’s busy.” More people who have subsequently come in are served. Eventually the manager (who I saw looking at tickets behind the kitchen) came over with our mains. No starter of soup. What followed was incredible! She insisted that the cock up was our fault! Apparently, the lack of soup was because she could not possibly know what was ordered, what should be a starter and how many people were at each table. That excuse would work in a service station, but we are talking about a place that charges handsome price’s commensurate with table service - but with no table service. We will never go back.

We were recommended this cafe and we weren’t disappointed. My husband and I had the ‘Chocks Away’ full English and as the delivery guy hadn’t been yet we had home made hash browns which were fabulous, and the eggs were double yolkers. Our friends had scrambled eggs on toast and had mounds! Highly recommend this place and the view was great.
