The Beach Haven in Tendring

Lovely tea and the bacon toastie and Sausage sarnie were perfect. staff were very friendly asked we wanted sauce etc and brought the food out to our table.

Absolutely awesome. Tea /Coffee/TeaCake and Toastie was real value for money (you need to charge more).

Quality food, burger bar type cafe. Had bacon and egg sandwich which came with 2 eggs. Good food,slightly overpriced. Will return. Would add they close early

Visited last week. Lovely friendly and welcoming place. Great atmosphere and they really care for the local beach and environment. Located right on the beach promenade.

Well positioned on sea front on our walk to Frinton, quite popular, the Victoria sponge cake was very nice (homemade??) but alas our two coffees (Americano) tasted like instant coffee, friendly service and dog friendly.

A lovely sandy beach, unspoilt by slot machines and just a couple of cafes, serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches etc. Lovely place for the children (and grown ups!) to dip their toes in the sea.

This café is a favourite place to go. We are made as welcome whether we just have a cup of tea or lunch. I have never known anywhere where the staff do so much to make sure you are happy with your order. My very elderly father was always taken special care of with his bacon cooked just as he liked it. It’s a pity there is one negative review but the rest of us can’t be all wrong. Thank you for everything.

The Beach Haven is a wonderful place. The food is limited at the moment due to Covid but they have a wide variety of delicious sandwiches and rolls, lovely cakes and ice cream, and tea, coffee etc. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It is also situated at the best beach in the area. My favourite place to be. They also have plenty of books, so you can enjoy a cuppa and take in the glorious view while relaxing with a book. Thank you for all your hard work and always serving with a smile during the difficult times. A cup of tea at the Beach Haven will lift your spirits and make the world seem almost normal. Lots of napkins too!

We came across this beautiful beach with a great little kiosk selling drinks, snacks, beach toys etc. The staff were so friendly and helpful, really went out of their way to help us. The food was delicious, especially the sausage sandwiches!!! They also thought of the dogs passing by with treats and bowls of water. Would definitely recommend this place. Doing everything they could to provide a great service even when time’s are different and we are in a pandemic. We will definitely be returning... see you all soon!!! Xxx

Visited twice over the weekend with various members of family while we were staying nearby. Had not been here before so cannot comment on previous food but we had lovely baguettes, sandwiches, toasties, coffee etc and found the staff to be most helpful and friendly as well as very hygiene conscious. It’s a lovely spot and we’ll be back!

We live locally this cafe used to be nice but the quality of the food and drinks now is not good..they also use very cheap tasting sausages..we now go to flags cafe where the quality and service is mich better..

Shame not open now until March 2020, but we will be there for homemade quiche and coleslaw with salad, friendly staff, chairs with cushions and a sea view. David and Val 😊

My friend and I made our annual pilgrimage to The Beach Haven last week for tea and sausage sandwich. As delicious as ever. We needed a taxi to return to Frinton and the staff very kindly phoned a cab firm for us. No wonder we return year after year.

I don’t go to this cafe as much as I used to as my beach walks are less frequent since my dog passed but I do enjoy coming here when I do come to the beach as it’s one of very few places around I can get soya milk for my cuppa and a vegan sausage sandwich. And what a view, you can sit and watch the sea and enjoy all the dogs that are welcome here too. Heaven!!

You do not need a time capsule to drift back, to a time when a business went a million miles to make you fill so wanted, but add to that your dog, yes your dog, the bestvdog friendly cafe your ever come across. If you got problems sitting on a aluminium seat there are cushions provided. You can enjoy a delicious bacon sarnie with a book, yes they have second books, donate by other customers. The funds go last hope Dog charity. Stunning views better than Monty Carlo, beach dog friendly, you maybe lucky and see a sailing boat race. I want to go on and on and on, come and see yourself this gem, you can see the wind farm off shore with your coffee or tea. What could be more priceless than seeing a old Thames Barge sailing by, as they used to up and down our coast line. If want a extra to this gem, Frinton On Sea is just 2 to 2 half walk away, and over the back is a lovely country park, buy a parking ticket though. Dogs can enjoy a beach play then sniff and read. So there you have it. Come on down

This is a fantastic place. They make a good mug of tea and the apple pie is absolutely delicious..possibly the best I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and considerate and dogs are most welcome. A truly great cafe. The prices were fair too. All in all excellent. We’ll be back again and again!

Lovely place serves a great cuppa and Ice cream for the family when taking a beach stroll. The meals being served looked nice and plentiful.

Came across this place by chance walking to Frinton along the coastline. Seems a little goldmine with good food, drinks and ices. Well worth coming back to.

Having walked from Clacton Pier to Holland on Sea we decided to have a break for lunch here. We chose Jacket potatoes, one with cheese and coleslaw and one with tuna mayonnaise. Neither my partner or i were disappointed in our choices. The portions are very generous and filling and we had service with a smile at a reasonable cost in Clacton.

Great place to stop have a Cup of tea & a toastie with the wife or friends whilst out walking the Dog, very friendly staff, your made to feel welcome they also do a nice little range of ice cream & ice Lilly's, nice little find will be returning regularly.

I’ve been fortunate to have travelled the world and I can safely say The Beach Haven Cafe is truly a hidden gem ! Wonderfully kind staff who make you feel like a member of their family. Food is wonderful especially the sausages for any and all visiting doggies. Little piece of heaven x x ps pls keep it a secret

We walked from clacton pair to haven beach.flat walk ideal mobile scooters Beach clean . Toilets clean well worth the walk. Haven Wild life park very nice thou not sutible mobile scooter. Car park.

Stopped here this Friday for lunch with the family, staff were fantastic and the burger I had was great cooked perfectly, my wife had jam on toast and said it was great kids had a burger and a cheese sandwich both loved them. The location is very nice and the atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly. I would recommend the beach haven cafe to anyone.

We visit the cafe every Sunday during the summer season whilst out walking the dog. The toasted tea-cakes are to die for, the sausage sandwiches superb and even the dog is catered for with doggie sausages. You’re always guaranteed a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

We have stopped here twice recently for coffee and cake when taking our dog for a walk. It is an excellent cafe, the service is outstanding and the coffee and cake are very good.

I came to visit here with my elderly father who has cancer so it's not often we get to have trips out anymore , my 3 year old and my large dog so I had my hands full already , the staff here couldn't do enough to help me was really heart warming , they gave my dad a chair to sit on the beach with and a big warm blanket and my daughter a bucket and spade to play with , then when we was finished the came and help me get my dad off the beach and even helped me up the hill to the car , the food was lovley too, oh and they brought my dad a cuppa tea down to the beach , lovey people thankyou so much for making our day special it ment a lot and I'll never forgot it ....thankyou for everything were extremely grateful xxxxx

I have visited here many times. Very friendly service, always with a smile. Great for dog walkers and families. Blankets if needed on chilly days. A small menu but food excellent.

Having found myself with no cash in a place with no contactless or card facilities this place manned by a wonderful lady trusted me for a cup of tea and a tennis ball, a rare thing in these days of hard nosed business people and low human trust. Go there to re affirm your faith in people.

What a great location! My other half discovered this gem and had to take me on a return visit. Lovely friendly ladies make for a warm welcome. You could sit here for hours enjoying the view. Great for breakfast by the sea.......wish we lived nearer! Would be there all the time!

This little gem of a cafe has looked after me and my guys for 7days while we was working on the Haven.

My friend and I have recently had lunch at The Beach Haven and can not recommend it highly enough. Their sandwiches are delicious but, what makes it so special, is the friendly welcome from the dear ladies who run it. It is plain to see that they work very hard to create such a dream of a beachside cafe. We love it. Many thanks.

Delightful,friendly staff who do everything possible to make your short stay comfortable. If the wind gets up whilst you are sitting watching the view and having something to eat and drink blankets are available. Dog walkers, cyclists, passers by, day trippers who have discovered the lovely beaches all mingle together in this wonderful haven. Toilets are situated less than 100 yards away. Open for breakfast until approx 5.00pm from March to end of October.

This place is a gem, it is only open from I think March until end of October. You sit out looking over the beach, there are blankets if cold. Try the quiche of the day it is excellent, well presented the salad fresh served with homemade slaw and crisps. One of us had the carrot cake today and went up for seconds he said it was homemade and terrific. This really is one to try.

Great friendly service and staff the foof is very tasty. Also with a gret sea view you can enjoy sun,sea,sand and food.

A morning cycle ride from Frinton and we came across this lovely cafe. Staff were friendly,good service and a nice touch was the cushions on the seats. We will visit The Beach Haven again.

A lovely beach front cafe with very friendly staff and a great menu of homemade food. The apple pie was particularly good! Served on nice proper plates too!

We had 50pence and my wife became unwell and unsteady after a 4 mile walk. They didn't accept cards but still offered my wife some food and drink. She was fixed! Wonderful example of lovely and helpful people. A flapjack and water fixed her but they also offered more help/food. We will be back again one day for breakfast. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

Nobody will ever believe that such a place to enjoy a great coffee and tea, but also food but it has one extra no other beach cafe offers dog treats.

I've visited this lovely beach kiosk a number of times and the owners are always introducing new items on the menu and more tables and chairs to sit as this haven seems to be getting busier and busier. They work so hard and are always friendly and welcoming. I can definitely recommend the home made cakes . Give this place a go and I know you will come back again and again.

Arrived eith friend 92 year old Mum and my dog . A table and chairs brought out for us . Cushions and blankets if required. Dog treats and waterbowls. All food stored correctly. Clean friendly great vibe awesome location. Will return.

This seaside cafe is so friendly, with cushioned chairs and windbreaks. Smiley faces from all staff. Whether it's a coffee and a bacon buttie or a nice quiche salad you will enjoy.

Great kiosk on the sea front. Excellent ice cream, and not expensive. Hot and cold drinks and snacks on offer too.

I was delighted to stumble across this place after a long hot walk from Frinton-on-Sea. A fabulous cup of tea and the best plate of ham, egg and chips really hit the spot. Great location right on the beach and very dog friendly.

Very nice to see all the locals using this little gem. Its is very reasonable priced and dog friendly. Great for a coffee, ice cream, lunch or just a inflatable.

We have stopped for a bite to eat and drink many times. It is a well run family kiosk and very popular. They have tables and chairs to sit at and enjoy your purchase or you can buy to take away. There are blankets to borrow on the cooler days. Parasols for those who need shade. Bowls of water for the dogs. And a lovely beach to view while you enjoy their wonderful hospitality.

I wrote a trip down memory lane why? Simple the staff are so deeply friendly be it towards a human being but also to dogs. They provide cushions if you wish to put on their aluminium chairs truly old fashion kindness. Dogs get treats no wonder it is a dogs pit stop. The food is so cheap so well cooked plus fast. Cakes to die for . We went to sit once it was a bit brezzy yet they offered a Windbreaker. I recommend this magical place to one and all. Make a date in your diary for a trip starting next spring to visit this cafe. You won't regret it.

On the hottest day of the year we were so pleased to see this delightful place on the prom at the beautiful Holland on Sea where we collapsed on seats and enjoyed a lovely cold ice cream! The menu is very good for a beach cafe though for all appetites! There are toilets just up from the cafe too!

We went for a coffee and a piece of wonderful cake. It was very busy but we managed to get a table for three as there are plenty of tables and chairs. They also have a little set for children to sit at. Water is put down for dogs. The ladies serving are very welcoming and friendly and have been each time I have visited. We sat there for half an hour enjoying the view of the beach. Simply the best!

We visited recently and stumbled upon this beach kiosk. The tea they served was excellent and the carrot cake was to die for! It is right on the beach and must do a roaring trade during the summer.

I visit this kiosk every Thursday after school with my friend and our children. The boys play on the beach after having an ice cream and we have a lovely cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake. The lady that owns the kiosk is so welcoming and very friendly. A nice little touch are the blankets to use on a chilly day and the free dog biscuits. Please do no just pass this kiosk , stop and have a cup of tea to see for yourself.

Cold June day and needed warming up on a bike ride so stopped with a cycling friend. Two coffees and two cakes £6 and very nice too !

Surprised to find this little beach cafe open on a Monday morning in March. Nice to have a good cup of coffee served in a mug. Ordered Bacon and Egg baguette which came in about 10-15 which was just perfect. All served with a smile.
