Overall a pretty disappointing couple of nights here. Pre arrival had emailed to book a parking space in their car park, but got no reply so parked on the street (free Vs £10 for their carpark). We arrived around midday and went in to inquire if our room was ready on the off chance. It was not and we were told check in was not till 3pm..felt.like a bit of a fob off as the hotel was not busy at all and don't think there was anyone in our room before us. When we returned some hours later, the booking system was down so we had to hang around reception for a while. Oddly were asked for ID as part of check in. Despite other reviews to the contrary breakfast not included, but waa offered a £16 each, which felt steep.for a 3 star hotel. Room (a superior) was ok, but with some issues. Cobwebs in the corners, more than a few weeks of dust on the bare bulb light fittings. Bath panel with a hole in, cracked tile on the bathroom floor. Awkward layout, furniture in the wrong places, small wall mounted TV and mirror nowhere near a plug socket to use the hairdryer. We paid almost £300 for a 2 night stay room only between Christmas and New year which feels violating for what we got. All of the above topped off by no-one on reception when we checked out so just dropped the key and left.

Had a great stay at the beachclub hotel! Melissa made it extra special with her friendly and attentive service. She truly went above and beyond to make me feel at home. Highly recommend!

We booked to stay at "The Beach club" as advertised on the website. The photo's look fabulous. The reality, once it came time for our stay, was that we received a "we look forward to greeting you" from Hotel Penzance! When we got there the building was NOT the one in the photographs, it was up a very steep road as was the parking. The young man at the reception insisted we were at The Beach Club, and he was rude and surly. To pay for parking, he refused cash but did not have a machine to tap or put a card in and insisted on writing our card number down. We were very unhappy about this! Be aware, in spite of our room being acceptable for our 1 night stay in the end, you are NOT getting what you think you are if you see a photo of a lovely aqua coloured building on the waterfront. It is false advertising. Interestingly, next day we found The Beach Club building on the waterfront. Locked up, no staff and quite run down, not at all as advertised. BE AWARE

Arrived after a 5-hour drive to locked doors and a building with no signs of life. Repeatedly tried calling the numbers on the door but no answer on either. Gave up and stayed at the far superior Queens just down the road. Avoid at all costs.

Lovely hotel right on the seafront, with fantastic views from a twin room. Booked online so breakfast was included, with a good selection. Staff were also very welcoming

Warning - you may not be placed in the main hotel, particularly if you have a family room. We booked this hotel as received a recommendation. Upon arrival it was gorgeous, a lovely hotel and friendly staff. They explained that our room wasn’t in the same building as we had booked one of their two family rooms, which wasn’t explained on their website. We were walked down a side alley and above a car park. The room was small, the shower was tiny and had mould and peeling mastic. It was clearly not what was advertised and not worth paying the same as a room in the main building. The staff were understands ding, they told us that they had recently taken over the building and there were teething problems. We had paid nearly £180 per night plus parking, they gave us a refund. We felt it was quite disingenuous of the hotel to not be honest in their communications around the rooms and hopefully they now are.

Breakfast was good, the room was clean. We stayed one night during the bank holiday at the small room. From the pictures I definitely didn't realize how small or how low-ceilinged room it was. The room doesnt belong to the main building you see in the pictures, it's on the back of the street. When we entered the building, there were crisps on the floor, the staff saw it with us but it wasn't cleaned for an hour. The window is placed on top of the usual height, felt like a prison window. The breakfast was nice on the open buffet though when we asked from the menu, it took 30mins to arrive. I understand during the bank holiday everywhere -especially Cornwall- is very expensive but the room, location or the service didnt match the price.

Really nice hotel with great staff. Just mind the different room categories when booking and you will have a great stay. Staff an especially the manager are really friendly and helpful.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. I spent one of three weeks in Penzance and I found this place in Expedia as my first choice was booked out! Great for me. This hotel is centrally located on the Esplanade, not too far from the train station, within walking distance to restaurants and stores what else can you ask for. My rate also included breakfast and it was not continental breakfast. It was a full breakfast from scrambled eggs to cereal a selection of fruits. The room was a little piece of solace. There was even a small table and two chairs with an ottoman that you could chillax and watch the ocean. Would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. Felt almost like home.

Excellent accommodation with sea view (on main road)Food very good and generous portions, almost too much! Staff very helpful. Long walk from Penzance. A lift would be very useful!.

The hotel is beautifully located by the sea. The rooms are clean but quite small. You can't have big suitcases there. The staff was very friendly and attentive!

Ahh the Port William! I’m not a pub goer but I’m a Port William regular! Is it the most spectacular location? Or the friendly staff ? The puppachino ? The most incredible sunsets behind gull rock? The glorious tidal beach where you can delight in a walk or watch the crashing waves on a stormy night? The great variety of gin and local brews ? The delicious food served with local flare ? The fact that it’s on the Kernow coastal salt path? It might be the live music ? No .. it’s the best ever welcome from Mary Fudge !
