Love this place. I am fussy . I cook a lot at home. I enjoy food. It takes somewhere like this to get me to eat out. Great food. Lovely staff. Top marks.

We went on Friday lunch time booked for 1.30pm. Food was very good as usual and the staff attentive. I asked for mashed potatos instead of new potatos as I don't particularly care for them, and recieved a portion of mash at only a small extra cost. We also ordered a side of chips as they are also very good. With this in mind we feel that offering customers a choice of potatos with whichever meal they choose, would be a small, but very welcome alteration. Overall though a very enjoyable meal.

A lovely restaurant and excellent food. Service is kind, attentive, and personable. Food is quick to be served always fresh and sometimes unusual. A true delight to dine here. We have been 2-3 time in last few months, and will return again ASAP. Thank you all the team at Bay Tree.

Such a wonderful restaurant in the village. We have been with friends tonight. The food is wonderful and the menu not massive but has plenty of choice. We all chose different mains and all were served with lovely fresh vegetables perfectly cooked. Great friendly staff. Stylish and modern we have been a few times now and it is consistently good.

Dear Barry i am sorry to have to do this my family and friends have used the Baytree and formerly called Basils for many many years until this sunday. We had a long wait to be served the main course was not up to your usual great standard it was not warm enough and the beer was red raw . A smile from the staff would have been nice instead of surly faces , The desert menu was just thrown on the table and left for us to sort out i complained and was told the chef had been informed. Still waiting for his reply . Not the best and you need to sort things out as you will start to lose a terrific reputation Roge

We have visited The Bay Tree on three occasions over the last couple of years. Each time the food and service has been excellent. The quality of the meat used is incredible and they serve some of the best steaks in the area. Surprised to see the odd poor service review here and there, which might only be down to customer misunderstanding.

Don't bother if you want regular custom to be rewarded with rudeness! Booked on Open Table for Sunday Lunch for my friend and I. Open table clearly states table is available for 2 hrs 15 minutes. Was told by rude young waiter (rude as he raised his hand to emphasise his point) that table was booked for 1.5 hours. I challenged this and asked him to speak to the owner who also lives in the same village as me. I was then abruptly told that Open table was wrong, and other people had arrived for our table so we needed to leave. We weren't even offered dessert. The owner also declined to speak to me as he was busy. Ladies and Gentleman this is how giving your repeat business to a local restaurant is rewarded. Don't bother! Just to note, there was also a table of 4 when arrived at the same time who were treated very differently.

I would give no stars if this was an option but the one star is for the chef as the food was good. Visited for my husbands birthday today. A party of 18. I know this is tricky for most restaurants and allowances are made for a large party , but from the booking - taken by a male member of staff for 3pm to a phone call the next day saying this shouldn’t have been given and we would have to sit scattered around the restaurant to another phone call saying they could accommodate us after all , and could we let them have a rough idea of mains to ensure they knew an idea of how many beef, pork etc- all ok. Deposit paid. Another phone call. Could we pay the deposit and an idea of mains! Apologies for then realising they had this. On the day. No drinks offered for 15 minutes. We asked could we order drinks. Could we please have menus ? Response from very rude male member of staff was ‘you have pre ordered and the mains are on the way’ what??? We wanted three courses. Not an option. The mains were coming. Ok. Meals delivered and food was good. Desert menus offered. 5 of our party did not want desert. Bill showed two Courses for all. After a lengthy and detailed conversation , finally £20 was taken from the bill for the five people. What an absolute shambles. My family would have all had three courses , many drinks , champagne etc. As it was we left after the very short lunch and one drink . What a terrible experience for my husbands birthday meal. The male member of staff on duty today should not be working in hospitality. I have never experienced a more rude, unaccommodating person . No words.

Visited numerous times when over staying nearby. Consistently good food, generous portions quality food.

Just catching up on reviews, we visited here late 2022 for a weekend meal, we booked in advance and upon arrival were the only people there but the place soon filled up. We were feeling a little peckish so had a couple of starters, a garlic bread (which was a lot large than we expected) and some mozzarella sticks, both more than sated our hunger. Our mains then arrived a prawn curry and a vegetarian dish with a side of veg. The taste was excellent and the portion size was just right. A nice meal in welcoming surroundings, we'll be back soon.

Following glowing reports from our friends and the experience of my wife at the annual dinner for the Wall Heath flower club we booked for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed . St out to have three courses but could only manage two. Started with the pate and then I had the beef and my wife had the turkey. Both meals were excellant and we will try an evening meal next time,

First visit under new ownership. Wonderful fresh food, varied menu and great service. We will be back.

Seated upstairs, staff friendly and efficient. Food good we had the trio roast, beef, lamb and pork and trimmings, beef was my favourite. Veg and cauliflower cheese lovely. Will return.

Attention to detail, good service, attentive staff. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere and it shows, within 30 minutes it was jam packed! Everyone's food was good, huge fish and chips, braised beef, lasagne, salmon with chorizo. Additional veg were lovely. Calamari starter was a little average, but the liver pate across the table looked good! Will definitely return. Thank you all.

I had high hopes for this place. Impromptu 1st visit mid week. I’m vegetarian, so choice was limited. My friend wanted the omelette, they serve it at lunchtime and when she’s looked at the website, she’s misinterpreted the fact that it wasn’t available on the evening. They wouldn’t accommodate, fine. We both opted for the Spinach Baklava. It was incredibly average and tasted like it had been cooked hours earlier and reheated in the microwave ( might not be the case but that’s how it tasted) it was soggy pastry and a very small portion too. Accompanied by peas and potatoes At £15 it wasn’t good value and it’s wasn’t very nice.

Had a fabulous night, we had booked a table upstairs, glad we did because it was quieter, and made the catching up more enjoyable. The welcome was warm and friendly and our waitress was lovely, the food was outstanding, definitely recommend the black pudding starter, we all had something different for our mains, but we all agreed that what we had was well presented, and very tasty. Definitely a return visit soon. There is some restaurant parking at the side,and there is a large public car park, by the side of that.

Had an amazing meal at the bay tree. The service was brilliant and the food was amazing. Always being checked on to see if everything is okay and if we are okay for drinks. I deffo recommend this resturant! Can't wait to go back with friends as best food around here
