Great all rounder pub! They do amazing food and drink, staff are lovely, they have lots of entertainment on. Relaxing atmosphere for an afternoon lunch with friends. Will always visit the Elms. Fantastic pub!

Had my first Sunday lunch there this weekend, the food was outstanding. I would like to thank the staff for getting me in at short notice. Thank you 😊

A lively local village pub with a interesting quirky decor, love the bar and snug, great friendly staff, good service, great selection of drinks and good food at reasonable prices.

My husband retired and we held a party for him at the Elms, the food was superb and Chefs amazing sausage rolls should be available to order.Service and staff as always excellent. A good time was had by all and now he is retired I am sure we will be able to visit more often. Thank you ladies for looking after us so well. Barbara

Great food, great beer great staff

Really nice looking pub, which has been recently refurbished. It has a side sports bar with three big screens and a brand new pool table, a small saloon style room and a main bar and eating area. There is a front outside drinking area with a small kids playing area, and also a rear outside area that is really nicely done. The food is really good, with a simple menu on offer at reasonable prices. The staff are really friendly and engaging too. We had a great experience here, and at least last week and this week there was live music (we just missed out on a tom jones act last week unfortunately!) We would definitely recommend this lovely pub if you’re passing

I went to a wake being held here, I'm in a wheelchair and can't take 1 step they had put the reservation at the back on a second level. I had to go round the back of the venue which had a very steep incline to get up. At the back tables were so close to the doors they all had to be moved also a high step over to manoeuvre.. access to toilets from this position was very difficult all the way back round to the front the ramp needed to first level to access bathroom ... Not very disabled friendly.. extremely disappointed

This is a lovely pub in a nice setting. A lot of effort has been put into the internal decor. We had the Sunday roast but I actually wasn't feeling well so the guys there packaged it up for me to take home. Had it later and it was great! My mate enjoyed theirs too. I think it's a really nice place, has great staff and excellent service. Highly recommended and I will be back.

Lovely pub, a hidden gem, well worth a visit. Lovely decor, really nice food (we enjoyed 3 courses), and staff are wonderful. Toilets are brand new and very clean, there's a good outdoor smoking area and also an enclosed seated deck with small play area for children. Space for cars at the front and side.

We had our wedding reception at The Elms on 08.06.24. We found the staff were absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond for us to make our day as special as possible. There was nothing they wouldn't do for us. The service at the bar was very good, happy staff, polite and kind. The food we had as a party of 25, every single meal was amazing, not a single complaint. The atmosphere was beautiful, calm, relaxed. Everyone was so happy, several of our guests have said they will return themselves for a meal and drinks in their couples. Definitely had the best day of our lives with you. Thank you Jane & team. Xx

Great beer (Davenports IPA). Best pub Sunday roast beef dinner in years.

Food average,pie and chips in a bowl not a nice way to serve food,all day breakfast luck warm. Drinks total rip off I think they charge what they want,my mate payed on his card for drinks while I payed cash I can't believe the difference In price when you pay by cash for drinks,I think the barman was on the fiddle,this is one pub I won't be going to again nor will I recommend to anyone.

Lovely lunch here with my family. We opted for the platter which was so tasty. Love the decor here!

I have been a customer of the Elms for over 40 years and the lunch today was as good as it has ever been excellent. It has now evolved into a real community hub and local big hands up to the young couple who are working very hard to make it work. Excellent again today. I can only reiterate my previous comments.

Don’t be fooled by the website not good at all, unwelcoming and really not a nice atmosphere. Booked online through THERE OWN WEBSITE to be told it shouldn’t have let us book as they were not serving food. No apology, nothing. Seemed like all they wanted to do was talk to the regulars in the bar.

Will never return. Service was slow even though it was not busy. Staff seemed to walk up and down but not actually doing much. Took almost an hour for the first course to arrive. I nearly walked out with frustration.

Came here after morning of shopping with my husband such a lovely pub they have made it look really nice and cosy inside. Had a nice couple of hours. Light lunch menu great price 12-4pm 2 course £10.95. I had chilli prawns spaghetti was so nice and extra cheesy garlic bread amazing. Cocktails 2 for £10 espresso martini best cocktail iv had. Nice beers on tap madri Staropromen peroni kopperberg on draught. Definitely will be going again. Staff were so helpful and friendly.

Food nice but want to charge £1 extra if you have ice cream or cream with your pudding. Staff friendly

Lovely food and staff Chilled relaxed atmosphere

The team and the customers went out of their way to support me, when my car broke down just off the motorway. They made me feel at home and kept me company while I was trying sorting out how to get back to Bristol. Charlie was the best, she is so lovely and went over and above to help me and put a smile on my face. You are a wonderful person! I’m very glad you were working that day ❤️. Thank you all so much! My favourite pub in all the land 😍 the food is delicious the atmosphere is friendly, homely and comforting to the soul. The decor is quirky and perfectly individual! They have regular live local bands, one of which was the best I've seen, Please check these guys out they are called "The Brightsides" totally recommend visiting when they are playing. The staff are all lovely and welcoming.....definitely a must visit place 😊.

Great food luvly place and very good service

Went to the Elms for lunch today and had a beautiful meal. There was plenty on the plate. Excellent service from Charlie who was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble, she adjusted the menu to meet our requirements. Charlie is a credit to your team. Thank you 😊

We had the 2 course deal on a lunchtime in the week. Stuffed mushroom and fish and chips. Really good quality and quantity for the price. Would love to go back and try the evening menu.

We booked this last minute & wow great find. Lovely Pub with a pretty garden Staff very friendly & polite. Had the Sunday roast, meat succulent, all of meal delicious. Definitely be returning. As a note Ladies room very pretty & very clean What a great Team you are 😁😁

Really like The Elms, lovely warm atmosphere at this time of year, good draught beers and friendly staff. Large outdoor seating area to the side, smaller hun garden to the rear.

Great little pub just off the beaten track, nice Davenport beers and two for one on classic pub meals on a Tuesday....got to be worth a visit

We've visited the Elms many times and the food and service has always been amazing. We visited last Sunday to a totally different experience. When we arrived the lady showed us to our table and swore in front of my 2 young children. Someone then came to get our drinks order to return to tell us we needed to go to the bar to order. She then returned to take our food order and one person in our party had a dairy intolerance, he ordered a Sunday dinner as he had many times before in The Elms and ensured the waitress was aware of his intolerance. She then returned again with another waitress to say "Sunday dinners are no longer able to be made dairy free so all you could have is the meat and gravy, even the vegetables aren't dairy free anymore." Neither of them could offer a dairy free alternative. In the end he opted for fish and chips. When the meals came they weren't up to normal standard at all. The children's fish and chips was awful and well overcooked to the point that my little boy who eats anything wouldn't touch it. Overall, a really, really disappointing visit. With a bill over £60 I will seriously consider going somewhere else next time. Not sure whats changed but it isn't good.

First time ive visited was today 15 03 2023 but it won't be my last the friendly staff are great and the food was excellent steak cooked to perfection you would be able to cut it with a blunt knife the prawn cocktail was great as well I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied with the price as well as the food kind regards to the place

Davenports have spent a fair bit of money on The Elms over the last few years, food menu pub grub at a fair price, service fairly quick, Friday and Saturday can be a bit noisy as music nights, other nights quiet and cosy especially if they have the big original fire lit. But sorry beer was poor, tangy left 3/4 of a pint barman asked had I finished told him of taste just he shrugged his shoulders and took the glass away didn't offer to change.

The pub is very nice and clean, friendly staff. Nice pints and decor. Will be back to try to the food one day. The Guinness was ok nothing special. Poured ok but not that cold I could have done a better job at home from a can

Some of the best classic foods I've had in a long time, the locally sourced sausage were huge and tasty

First Time visiting in over a decade, as other pubs nearby have gone horrible, lovely inside and will be going back again as staff really friendly and extremely clean. Thank you as was my favourite place when I used to live nearby and had a lovely peaceful evening with the surroundings. Would recommend and I can forget the other places in the area as glad I went back.

To be honest, we used to live within a short walking distance from The Elms and went there on a regular basis for food and drinks. We moved to North Wales over two years ago, so whilst back in the area for New Year we decided to meet up with some friends for a meal at The Elms on 2nd of January. The food was very disappointing. Two of us ordered the beef and ale pie, which was frankly overcooked to the point of burnt. The pastry was so hard we really could have done with an axe to break into it. Not sure if the pub has changed hands since we left, and either the chef has changed or was having a very off night. Either way, it really spoiled what should have been a trip down memory lane and certainly put us off revisiting the next time we are in the area. Sorry, but I can only speak as I find.

Been in a couple of times now with a friend who's local. Seems like a good pub with a good atmosphere. Unfortunately when I went to the toilet by the sports bar area, there was no toilet roll and a big pool of urine on the floor under 1 or the urinals. I don't know if it was a leak or someone just couldn't aim. I let the bar staff know and about an hour later it was still the same. Good job the toilet in the bar/restaurant area was clean and tidy.

Was busy here today, so there was a short time of waiting for service, looked like there was only one "Bar" operative on duty

Family had Xmas lunch yesterday, was lovely, great atmosphere & friendly staff definitely recommend

Booked table for Christmas lunch. When we got there was told by one member of staff to sit wherever we wanted then told by another that those table were reserved even though no on else in the restaurant. Were then given the standard menus although we had asked for festive menu. I had even emailed to ask if we needed to pay a deposit . Were told we couldn't have the festive menu so we left without eating. Very disappointing as we had travelled over 20 miles to meet family for lunch. As there was no-one else in the restaurant we did wonder if that's why they wouldn't do the festive menu. Will not be returning.

Excellent meals and very friendly and attentive staff. Only problem was our reserved table for seven being actually two tables separated by a regular pathway for all and sundry other customers and, of course, staff serving those customers. Live music was OK except wife not keen on the music being played. All in all a very good night.

The old menu really needs to come back. The quality of food as dropped a awful lot since our last visits. Unfortunately this has gone from one of our favourites for food to just bog standard average. The old menu had so much more of the waw effect. And said quietly unlike the new one which is such a shame as its a stunning pub with a lovely atmosphere and beautiful decor. Lovely open fire in the winter and outdoor seating.. lovely place for a date night drink or get together with friends or work meeting I would give this place 10 stars for venue and friendliness. Delicious food, friendly service and chilled atmosphere. We came on a Sunday for a good pub roast and we weren’t disappointed! As a good bonus the vegetarian option was delicious - mushroom, spinach and truffle pie. 🥰

We came for Sunday dinner last month and the food was outstanding, that good we booked for my moms 65th birthday meal which we attended last night. 20 excellent meals were on the table within minutes of each other, the hosts couldn't do enough for you, the place even came with added entertainment (karaoke). Lovely place to visit will definately be returning soon. Thank you all.

Been going to The Elms since September last year and I have got to say its the best pub I've ever been too. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great venue and great service. I highly recommend The Elms to everyone.
