This was a disappointment compared to the old days of the bay restaurant. We were greeted with all the things that weren't available, I ended up having fish and chips as my first choice. It wasn't but wasn't terrible but it was covered in way too much salt which couldn't be avoided very easily. Wish we had gone out to eat but as we were staying in the hotel we chose to stay in.

The ‘vegan-gluten free menu doesn’t exist. I ended up having a portion of chips. My husband had the seafood platter. After choosing several things which they did not have on the menu. The platter crab was substituted with cod as they did. Or have that either. No steak, crab. It was an absolute joke how the waiter was running back & forth to the kitchen to see what was still available. Will not be going back again. Very poor.

We are on holiday with friends and were delighted to find this restaurant within the Penzance Hotel. We enjoyed excellent service from all the waiting staff and a range of well cooked meals ranging from a seafood platter to salmon spiced kebabs and prawn Malabar curry. The service was first rate and friendly, and food good value for money.

Excellent dinner (one of the few restaurants open on Saturday), best for price-quality! Among the best in Cornwall, I definitely recommend it

We have been dining here for many years and have to say we have been unimpressed with the new management. Despite the fact that when we first visited under the new managers, we were assured that they valued local customers, this seems to have gone by the board. The welcome when we arrived was underwhelming compared to how it used to be - no offer to take coats, no drinks to come while we looked at the menu, in general a fairly cool reception. Part of the experience used to be the warmth of the welcome. The menu has become very limited to the point where we could not find a dessert that appealed to us and the main courses have very little local produce as well as a very limited choice. The service was relatively slow considering how few people were in the restaurant. We were also puzzled by the terminology regarding the service charge - 'a discretionary service charge of 10% will be levied' - a bit of a contradiction in terms! When we left there was not a soul in sight to say goodbye or ask if we had had a good evening. I don't think we will be returning anytime soon as there are many other restaurants that offer better value for money and a much warmer atmosphere. Really disappointed. It isn't the cheapest place to eat but we have previously been happy that it gave good value for money.

We have been regular diners here over many years but no more. We dined here in early December when most restaurants were crowded. We were the only diners! The waiter was polite and friendly. However the menu was disappointing, totally uninspiring and un ambitious,, We ordered a bottle of wine and 10 minutes later were told it was unavaiable. The same with the second bottle chosen. The steak I ordered rare was served well done and was so tough proved inedible. It was a most disappointing evening. Has this hotel a death wish? It used to be a classy restaurant .Now it is dreadfuk,

I can honestly say from start to end this dinner was a disaster. The planning, organization and quality of food was the biggest disappointment of my holiday !!! Traveling from the USA I can describe this meal as a low income retirement home meal.

Stayed in the hotel so decided to eat here - the staff were really friendly and helpful, we ordered a few things from the set menu, it was just okay and some of it we had to send back so food was a bit poor an that's disappointing as there really isn't much else nearby.

My wife and I went early evening for a celebratory meal for our Diamond Wedding anniversary. She had been quite ill and was still recovering, but didn't want to miss it. The atmosphere, service and food were all first class. My wife enjoyed her starter, but when the main course (seafood platter) arrived she found it a bit daunting, so we asked if it could be boxed to take home. The chef came out to sympathise with her, and suggested the beautifully laid-out board would perhaps better be wrapped in cling-film just as it was. This was done, and my wife enjoyed the food for lunch the next day, by which time she was feeling much better. We said we would drop off the board and dishes back at the restaurant the next day. We felt really looked after, and will definitely be back!

The restaurant (when called The Bay) was extremely good and we ate there very often. We booked a table for six for my husband's birthday on 29th. October. When booking, we advised them that one of our party has a serious nut allergy and is also dairy intolerant. On arrival, there were only two other diners in the restaurant but the staff member meeting and greeting seemed confused, despite the fact that one table was set for six, and asked us to wait while he checked. At that stage, we should have had an inkling of what was to come! We ordered wine, starters and main courses without a problem but, when the food arrived, it was bland and seriously lacked seasoning. The two steaks ordered were not cooked as requested. Also, the waiter said they were unable to bring a second bottle of wine to the table for 10 minutes - no idea why! Menus arrived for pudding selection. The waiter was completely unaware that a member of the party had an allergy and an intolerance, After a trip to the kitchen, he confirmed that there was nothing suitable on the menu. As they had been pre-advised we asked what they had made available and, after yet another trip to the kitchen, we were told that the chef could do a fruit salad if we liked. We were then told that the chocolate dessert already ordered by three of the party was not available. Surprising as for the duration of our visit, there were only four other diners - I wonder why !!!! Unsurprisingly, we decided to forgo the desserts and asked for the bill. When leaving, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the "meet and greeter" although he seemed not to understand English and simply said "thank you" several times - or was he being sarcastic. Needless to say, we will not be darkening their doors again !!!

I've never written a TripAdvisor review in my life but I feel like I have to warn people! I'm a coeliac. We had stated this when booking but had felt confident in visiting as they mark gluten free items on the menu and there seemed to be quite a choice. However, I've never had such a terrible experience in my life! When we arrived, my wife mentioned to the waiter that I'm a coeliac. The waiter didn't seem to understand, and got another waiter. This waiter just seemed to ignore the fact and get drinks orders. He came back - having obviously read our booking notes - to congratulate us on our anniversary and that the glasses of procesco were on the house! Very nice... But literally the only thing that was about this experience. Then we tried to order food... we had a voucher for a free three course meal for two that stated it was valid for a year. We asked the waiter if there was anything we couldn't order using the voucher and was told it was fine. But if course, when we came to pay, he said he spoke to his manager and the voucher was no longer valid!!! they discounted us £45 or so supposedly cover the value of the voucher but had we known this when ordering we would not have ordered dessert or drinks to keep the bill reasonable. We were so mad at this point that my wife just wanted to go home, so instead of arguing further, we just paid the £40 or so remaining on the bill and left. The reason we were so angry is that throughout the whole evening, they were consistently so terrible handling what is in fact a very common allergy! When they took our order, we reminded them, AGAIN, that I can't have gluten. The starter I chose was okay, but when I got to the main (marked gluten free on the menu!!!) I ordered it and specified gluten free. When he read the order back however, he didn't say GF, so I double checked that it was okay to eat. He seemed confused and he said he'd have to check. He came back and said that it's not ... I gave them the benefit of a doubt, and thought that maybe they were just out of GF pasta so it wasn't available that night. So I asked what was available and picked steak. (None of the options were veggie btw) We would normally ask about separate fryers for the fries etc but I had a feeling I would be talking to a brick wall so decided against it. The mains arrived. I had started cutting into the onion rings when my wife - thank god - asked the waiter to double check everything was gluten free. The other waiter rushed over and said that the onion rings I had already cut into were not in fact gluten free! My wife sent it back to the kitchen and reminded them that they would have to re-cook the steak as the onion rings were lying on it and it was probably cross -containimated. Lo and behold, the dish is returned suspiciously quickly with a suspiciously cold steak. They also didn't offer to replace the steak knife that was now covered in gluten. But I was hungry and frustrated, so I just dug in. Luckily, I did not have a reaction. THEN it was time for dessert. Which, let's remember, was supposed to be free, so even though our mains was a disaster (my wife's was burnt btw) we decided to stay. I asked the waiter to find out what I could eat. He went to find out, returned, and I ordered the Eton mess. But what turned up other than the wrong dish, and one containing gluten at that!! They promised the crackers on the cheese dish we're gluten free but my wife was very suspicious of this given that they were branded 'hovis' which, to our knowledge, don't make GF biscuits. Anyway, after nearly being poisoned for the third time, they bring out the Eton mess, which was thankfully okay. Now you understand why we just sucked up the £40 bill (which probably should have been about half that) and left. Utterly atrocious knowledge of allergens in both the wait staff and the kitchen. The food was average. The free glass of prosecco the only time the wait staff were at all nice to us. And I spent the whole time anxious that I would be glutened. One mistake I can forgive, miscommunications happen, but three times?!?! It speaks of ignorance and entirely uncaring for their guests health.

Had dinner here for my partners birthday. Staff were warm and welcoming. Food was very good quality. The team even brought out a dessert with a candle (on the house) as they knew it was my partners birthday which was a lovely touch. Only downfall was we were put on a table which had some used wineglasses on which isn’t ideal when you have the table pre booked. But overall, would highly recommend.

Seafood board as main dinner is completely mistake. 90% of this meal is served as cold food - perfect for breakfast or starter. Prawn tagliatelle taste like oat soup with pasta. Horrible experience. No atmosphere, no vibe.

We had a super evening here. The welcome, food, service and waitress was first class. My husband had the Cornish steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the Linguini which was lovely. We had a view of the swimming pool with the harbour in the background which was beautiful when all the lights for the evening came on. Only short 10 min walk from Harbour car park.

Some delicious and great value food, superb service and great atmosphere eating here on the our last evening of our Penzance holiday. Wine list first class and reasonably priced. Can’t fault the friendly waiting staff, despite the restaurant being full.

Perched high above the town with beautiful views over the swimming pool to the town, harbour and bay. We were fortunate to have a table by the window and that it was a beautiful evening.Staff were friendly and the menu is limited but interesting. It’s a set price either 2 or 3 courses and a good selection of wine.The food was very nice and we will return.

What a gem! We so enjoyed a delightful meal using fresh, locally sourced ingredients at a very reasonable price. Whilst the restaurant was quite busy, it was calm & quiet enabling conversation to take place. It is a couples restaurant and it was a nice change not to have children running around. Would give it a zero if I could. Hostess stand was rude. Come here if you want attitude. I believe that the two waitresses were called Claire and Olivia, but the most polite gentleman called James I do beleive was so polite and the most helpful person in the whole building i should imagine!

All is fine except for the Christmas pudding, best advice: avoid order it. The garden salad is delicious but comes with large bowl for like 4 people.

When we arrived Amit had already noted the allergies mentioned on the booking and walked our party through the safe menu choices. I’ve never had that level of service before. The food was great and the final bill was a pleasant surprise. Recommended.

I never write reviews but I stayed at this hotel and had a lovely time, until my last morning when I was served by the rudest waitress Claire who clearly thought she was to good for the place and also thought it ok to scream and swear in front of guests about the other staff- absolutely shocking. She shouldn’t be working with the public and this restaurant is let down by her! Nathalie (?) was also sour faced and unhelpful.

We booked a table on a Thursday evening. No time slot was given at the time of the reservation nor it was mentioned when we got seated. The menu is restricted, the prices are confusing and doesn’t allow you to have 2 starters instead of a main.Few minutes after ordering a 2nd bottle of wine a rude grumpy waitress came to me saying: « it’s already 1h40 you are here. are you now gonna order dessert we need your table back ...» the bottle of wine wasn’t even touched since it was still chilling in the ice bucket. We then order a dessert, once finished the host came with a tray and move us to an empty room without any atmosphere nor music. (It was 7 empty table in the restaurant and the social distancing was more than what suggested by the government ) It really felt like they were trying to park us away from others. When we mentioned our frustration to our waiter, the « owner » (we assumed) walked into the room and say firmly to his waiter to explained us about the law and the rules due to COVID. (Not even he has acknowledged us) It was still 8.15 and no other booking came in nor a walk-in (kitchen last order was 8.45) What was suppose to be a beautiful night out résume to be a disappointment. I will not recommend anyone this place. Do not spend your money there, they don’t deserve it.

Came here for dinner last night. This was a great find while we were staying in the area. We had lovely food and cocktails at a very reasonable price. The staff were all friendly apart from one waitress who let the team down. She was so grumpy and probably shouldn't be working with the public.

Staying just outside Penzance for a week and stumbled upon the Garden Bar and we were so glad we did. Although the menu is limited the food is excellent and fantastic value for money. It was so good we went back twice.

Had a fabulous meal there whilst on holiday. Limited options on the menu but we had a varied selection from it and could not fault any of it. We come every year and eat out around the town and this was one of the best meals we can remember. Makes the choice of where to go next year very easy. Look forward to it.

Came here for my parents 25th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, no fault at all. There was mix of starters and mains from the sea food platter, fish and chips, chicken and steak with a kids main thrown in to. All was delicious, I could come back to try the different courses.Everyone enjoyed all the mains and the desserts even the drinks and cocktails went down nicely. The staff was very efficient and helpful but not intrusive which made it even more personal for us.Would definitely recommend and shall be back again.

Had a lovely meal. Greeted at the door by a very polite member of staff, who took our temperature. We arrived a little early and our table wasn't quite ready, so she seated us in the reception by the window with a lovely view and took our drinks order. She bought it over for us, so we could have a drink while we were waiting. We had the pork dumpling to start, the fish platter for main and i had cheese board and my boyfriend had the chocolate mousse. Everything was pleasant. The cheese board could of been a little more exciting but I felt that the menu was so reasonably priced i couldn't complain. Good food and great service! Nice place to sit outside with a view of the harbour, under heaters too!

A great choice for afternoon tea for my husband's birthday. The sandwiches were delicious, the scones are the best I've ever had. I only tried one of the small cakes (I was full because I couldn't stop eating the sandwiches) but that was also yummy, my sister sampled them all and she didn't fault them. I can't think how they can put on such a wonderful spread for the price. We were also able to take away the leftovers. Highly recommended from me and my family.

We had such an excellent vegan dinner the other night that I thought I should post a review here. There was a choice of 2 things for each of the 3 courses and a vegan amuse bouche too. I had a very fresh and tasty salad, a mushroom based main and sorbet to finish. I can highly recommend eating here, the staff were lovely and the view from the restaurant is good too, even at night.

We had been bought an afternoon tea for a few months ago and visited at the beginning of October. The website said we could book from 3pm, but when I called to reserve a table, I was told that they could fit us in until 4pm at the earliest. However, when we arrived at 4, the restaurant appeared to be closed. We finally found someone and we’re seated.We ordered the afternoon tea, but asked if we could swap one cup of tea for a bottle of still water. Instead we were given a carafe of tap water, so I asked for a coke instead. This arrived, but tasted very strange. I think it must have been made from a syrup rather than a bottle of “real” cola.When the food arrived we found that the sandwiches were quite nice, but the bread was really thick. The scones were cold, but tasted good, but the cakes were very disappointing. They looked like shop bought and had very little taste. In fact we were unable to eat them all as they weren’t very nice.When we left, we were charged for the coke, which was quite disappointing.All in all not a great experience and not one that we’d be likely to repeat

Everything about our evening meal here was perfect. The service and the food were amazing using great ingredients and some amazing flavours couldn’t fault. All of this was made even better by the fact we could use our gourmet society card.

Had an amazing afternoon tea for 12 today to celebrate my Mum’s 80th birthday. Plenty of sandwiches, desserts and scones. Lots of tea and coffee and Prosecco if you want to add it. My Mum loved it as did we all, very relaxed and exactly what she wanted.Will definitely recommend to others. Well done The Bay.

12 family members had Afternoon Tea here today..Excellent Service , fast , efficient and attentive..The Afternoon Tea itself was very well presented, varied and covered both the vegetarians and non vegetarians in the party..A good selection of sandwiches, beautiful cakes and cream tea..There was plenty to eat and the empty plates and cake stands stood testament to how much everyone enjoyed it..Good value for the price .

Four of us dined there on our one night in Penzance - wonderful experience. Staff couldn't do enough for us, food was delicious and we all enjoyed the evening.

I’ve enjoyed a wonderful, chef inspired dinner. A+. Then breakfast and just this afternoon a full traditional English cream tea. They do a wonderful job and everything has been very tasty.

Oh my... as part of a cruise excursion we enjoyed a delightful cream tea in this charming hotel and restaurant. The room is open and bright with outdoor seating, as well. The cream tea is something to remember and included all of the right elements: scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam and well-brewed tea.

Preise eher Mittel, wir haben mit Vorspeise und Wein 75 Pfund bezahlt. Durchaus angemessen. Service ok. Flair im Lokal fehlt etwas. Aber in Summe gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Geschmacklich sehr gut.

Plenty of room between tables in the dining room making a comfortable atmosphere to dine in, the restaurant manager was extremely accomodating and friendly as was one of the waitresses,unfortunately the other one was not.The food was pretty good, great starter of scallops and mango, my rare steak was more medium and my companions fillet was a bit chewy, which it should never be.Worth another visit.

We booked a table for four people in March, having checked menus on the website and reviews to ensure this hotel could cater for gluten free. The email confirmation said they would do their best!

This was the first time visiting this restaurant and what a complete and satisfying experience. Set of the beaten track with great views of the harbour a very relaxing experience. The table where set apart from each other so plenty of room.

Today we enjoyed a really lovely afternoon tea at The Bay Restaurant at Hotel Penzance. Everything about our experience was wonderful. I wanted to make particular reference to the young lady who was our waitress. Megan was utterly brilliant and accommodating from the moment we walked in to when we left. She was attentive and nothing was too much trouble! Thank you Megan for making our visit very special!

As others have commented, parking is minimal and predominantly for resident guests of the hotel. That said, we were lucky and a space became availbale as we drove in. The hotel is in a great position, with views to St Michael's Mount and the open sea, and you need to go through it to get to the restaurant.

Booked via groupon, we were the only ones there on a Monday.

I was treated to fabulous surprise Afternoon Tea today at The Bay Restaurant. This was a late Mother’s Day treat from my family and we had a lovely time.

We booked a afternoon tea for 3 adults & 2 children, we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly front of house staff, and then shown to our table by a friendly waitress.

Eaten here a few times and have always been happy with the quality and quantity of food. The two or three course menu is excellent value for money and highly recommended. Reasonable choice of dishes which changes to suit seasonable availability and, as everything is freshly cooked, can be adapted for anyone who has dietary limitations. Reasonable choice of wines by the glass but good selection of wines by the bottle.

We visit this establishment for a birthday treat and was quite disappointed.

Sorry about this, I rarely complain or write bad reviews, but we were so looking forward to a special meal for a special occasion I feel I must. It was difficult to find somewhere to park, restaurant had lovely views, but very little atmosphere. Lots of choices on the menu, but ridiculously small portions (I appreciate the 'fashion' is not to overload plates, but this was stupid) The starters and desserts, apart from being tiny, were very tasty, but the steak, also miniscule, was tough and not particularly tasty. My sister had duck cooked in the usual way whilst I asked for mine to be well done, both were so tough we should have had steak knives and the 2 pieces of uncooked fat on the plate, apart from the fact I've no idea why they were there, looked disgusting. Cannot recommend the place at all, other than perhaps coffee and cake on a nice day to enjoy the view, though there are many other lovely places in this part of the world which I would recommend you choose.

Sind ohne Vorbuchung zum Afternoon Tea hierher gekommen, was aber kein Problem war, denn es waren nur drei Tische belegt. Der Raum war hübsch gestaltet mit Blick auf Palmen und das Meer, und wir hatten einen Tisch direkt am Fenster. Was das Essen angeht: Die Sandwiches waren eher grob entrindet und nichts fürs Auge, die Küchlein schmeckten nicht gerade frisch. Das hatten wir woanders schon besser, dafür aber auch teurer als hier. Alles in allem o.k., alleine schon weil man so schön gemütlich sitzen konnte.

As a special treat our daughter booked a family dinner at the Bay as we’ve always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Last night it didn’t live up to our expectations or it’s reputation. The salmon starter was over cured. The duck main and cod fillet main were seriously over cooked and under seasoned. We wonder if your chef was on holiday and let an apprentice take over the kitchen! Worried about returning again.

Christmas lunch with a group of friends looked after by Andrew their first class manager. We were served good food, good wine in lovely surroundings with stunning views of the Mount. Highly recommend

Been many times to the Bay. Food is always good, with good choices. Wine list could be better. Service friendly and efficient. Would recommend a visit. Get a window seat if the weather's good or even sit outside on the terrace.

My sister in law booked afternoon tea for my mums 60th birthday. There were 7 of us in total including 2 children. Beautiful decor, lovely view over Penzance. We were welcomed by the owner, then shown to our table by the waitress. Wonderful selection of finger sandwiches, and they would give you as much tea as you could drink. Absolutely fantastic place, will be returning next time I visit Cornwall

Everything on paper looked great, lovely setting perched high up with a great view of the bay, a little rushed when ordering and dishes were warm but not hot, steak was not the best and the dish my wife had.....the steamed Pollack with a vegetable Nage ( the crabmeat was missing due to no delivery / availability and a substitute fish was supplied) was a little bland, she did not enjoy it at all, I was there on business and as such asked for separate bills.....some time later when doing my expenses I noticed they overcharged me for my dinner....I had the steak Bavette and they charged me for the Sirloin... £5.55 more, I'm sure this was just an error but it just put the cherry on a mediocre dinner

We have afternoon tea at various places at least once a month, we were staying in St Ives for the week and decided to give the Bay Restaurant a try. We sat outside in the terrace which overlooked the sea, the view was beautiful and there were heaters in case it became chilly. We were given a choice of 4 sandwiches and had 2 rounds each, made on lovely bread and generously filled. There were also macaroons, profiteroles, apricot tartlets and carrot cake all delicious and obviously home made. Then there were the scones, living in Devon we have more than eaten our fair share! Wow these were the lightest and buttery we have ever eaten with generous amount of jam and cream. Everything was served on high quality bone China and was accompanied by a large cafetière of good quality coffee. We will definitely be returning in December

went in there on Monday, as we were on holiday so we were looking for somewhere nice place to eat a dinner as we had a lunch in another seafood restaurant. After seeing the review on TripAdvisor we thought of going in. The atmosphere was lovely as being a seafood lover we order two main fish dish one was tandoori style fish marinated in yogourt and the other one was white fillet.... something I can't remember the name. It was so bland, also order the non-alcoholic mocktail although they didn't that drink on the menu but the waitress said they can make one for me it taste ok!!! but seriously £7 for mocktail are u kidding me the alcoholic cocktail was £8 something I should have just ordered the cocktail if I knew it will be £7 for the mocktail. Just two main and 2 drinks came up to £50 just want to say it's too expensive

We looked on-line for a place to book an afternoon tea and came across this restaurant. We were not disappointed. You pick two sandwich fillings out of a selection of four choices and which tea you would like from a selection of Cornwall grown teas.

The food was enjoyable, the reviews hyped it up a bit as I personally didn't think the food wowed me. The staff were polite, but that is as far as it went. We visited here on the 2nd September 2018.

The standard of food is up with Penzance's other quality restaurant The Shore. The outlook over Penzance and Mounts Bay is wonderful. The service was good though the staff seemed a little inexperienced. Well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at The Bay Restaurant, the kids enjoyed their chocolate milk while I and the wife loved our coffee and tea.

We stayed at the Hotel Penzance and ate dinner at the Bay. Cheerful staff and well prepared food. Ate al fresco with a view over Penzance. Good value for the quality.

Myself and a friend decided to take our daughters out for afternoon tea. As the girls were young the staff allowed them to share there afternoon tea. The staff where very friendly. We sat outside with an amazing view. The whole experience was calm and relaxing which is what you need on holiday. Food was amazing

On a beautiful day sat looking over the bay, had a lovely brunch of pannini's, toasties and latte's all freshly made and served by friendly staff. Will come again.

My family had afternoon tea here using a Groupon voucher.We sat out on the veranda as the weather was lovely the views were great .We had the indulgence afternoon tea which allowed you to pick two fillings for the sandwiches (cucumber,salmon,ham and mustard or cheese and chutney)also there were five small cakes each and a scone with cream and jam and a choice of tea or coffee.The food was delicious we could not fault anything in fact it was the best afternoon tea we have had.We would definitely return and would highly recommend it.

Overlooking the bay and pool with nice gardens and view. The service is ok, the room square with no dividers so not intimate but so everybody can see the view and the terrace. Food and drink is Hotel price but quite good - tasty and well thought out.

Sunday 18:30hrs 5th of August, I entered a good looking restaurant, really not busy say less than 15 covers being served at the time my family of 3 were eating, drinks were of good standard which were as expected, I had mussels to start which arrived with in 15 mins of ordering, portion size was good but the sliced shallots were a little raw in the sauce which lacked seasoning & was a little watery with no body

We booked a table here after a last minute decision to head to Cornwall for the weekend; the Bookatable app listed The Bay Restaurant as a good place to go. I have to say, we weren't disappointed!

Needing somewhere to eat desperately due to traffic jams and passing by Penzance - I just picked The Bay from google maps. It’s in a hotel so was a little apprehensive what we’d find. We were there 10 minutes before opening but after checking if we could come in, the person on reception said of course and took us down to a very airy restaurant with a part sea view, beautiful garden and small pool (for hotel guests)! The staff were very friendly and great with the kids and the food was very good. We were glad it was quiet and calm so the kids were calm too, but I’m sure it gets busier later on. If we ever manage to back to Penzance without the kids, we are definitely staying here!

We had afternoon tea at this hotel, It was the best one I have ever had, the staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was delicious. We had a lovely view on then veranda over looking the swimming pool and sea. Although we did not stay at the hotel it was lovely.

The restaurant is open on one side to facilitate dining on the adjacent terrace which allowed masses of small and large flies to accumulate on the window adjacent to our table. We had to move to the back of the restaurant where we obviously were not able to see the view of the sea.

I had my informal wedding reception/ lunch at the Bay Restaurant. Andrew and his team looked after us extremely well and served us a lovely tasty lunch in the light and spacious restaurant . Every one of my guests enjoyed their meal and had a great time relaxing on the patio area, which has fantastic sea views. I would highly recommend the Bay !

Two of us shared the full indulgence and the gentlemans afternoon tea. Lovely selection and we had the leftovers to take home. Waitress not on the ball. Brought decaf tea instead of coffee and put savoury and sweet leftovers next to each other in box otherwise it would have five stars.

I bought this as a treat for my husband and I whilst visiting Cornwall. The restaurant is easy to find with ample parking. We opted to sit outside overlooking the coast, outdoor pool and beautiful gardens.

We had Christmas lunch, it was probably the best one I have had in a restaurant, the staff were attentive and professional, there were a great atmosphere . We will definitely be back.

Well worth budgeting for. I mean not particulary working class prices.. take someone special to you here for a treat. Food and presentation first class. Staff attentive and efficient. Good view over the bay. Parking a little strained, be lucky..allow a few minutes to find a space.. pre order lobster a must.

I booked an indulgent afternoon tea at The Bay Restaurant PZ. Aside from this not being cheap, i was so looking forward to my little sandwiches and a scone. I want to start by saying The Bay was up to it's usual excellent standard and the lady that serves thoughout was wonderful. My mother in law and children had a wonderful afternoon tea. I on the otherhand didn't and although it pains me to complain, i feel i have to... for the next visitor...

We were celebrating my parents 65th wedding anniversary and decided to take them for afternoon tea. We were given the private room at no extra cost and arrived early and even though we had been advised we may not be able to park in the car park as this was reserved for hotel guests more so than visitors to the restaurant, we were greeted at the door and told it was fine to park at that time. We were immediately allowed to go through even though we were 15 minutes early! As not all the party had arrived we waited for a "full house" before we were served our afternoon tea. The staff were happy to service our table right away but we all decided to wait. The food was plentiful and delicious, no complaints from anyone, we were not rushed and were left alone but always had someone come in and ask if we needed anything. Would recommend and would definitely visit again, thank you.
