Very pleasant environment and staff, with lovely views across the sound.

Lovely place, great fresh food. I really enjoyed the market fish option, awesome. Lovely views too….so….why only the three star review. We were in there two hours which was lovely…..but in that time I had to ask for a second round of drinks, by going up to the bar, I would have have two more but got bored of trying to attract attention so had to settle for only the two drinks in two hours (we were a group of 10). Such a shame for a great place with great food, just needed a front of house. Had to ask for the table to be cleared and to look at the dessert menu…then waited 20mins for anyone to come over so did not bother ordering a dessert. The 9 month old baby, the 6 year old, fell asleep in the wait so not all bad (they missed out on their free icecream but they were not bothered). Well done to the kitchen, let down by the front office.

The drinks were poured awfully, and the mayonnaise was disgusting. The KOREV tasted like soap. Fish and chips made me feel sick and my friends burgers were badly cooked and so dry. Service was ok and views were great but definitely don’t come here. Go to a local pub instead of this disappointment.

Food beer and a view, what more do you want. Beer kept well, but this is not a Cornish pub, it is a bar.

Although empty tables only possible by reservation. Then you shouldn't advertise yourself as a public restaurant.

The service was very poor. Extremely slow and felt like we were completely ignored by the staff for long periods. I will not be returning. The food was good, basic but ok although desserts are overpriced.

The calamari was awful ,no attempt to trying just taken from frozen packet . Really sad as such a nice place

We stopped in for a pint. Location, location, location. We sat outside and enjoy the ocean view. Lovely. I highly recommend this opportunity.

We visited here a couple of times for drinks and one evening for food. The location is amazing, right on the beach front and they will serve drinks in cups you can safely take into the beach. There's also tables outside with fantastic views of the bay and inside is light and airy. The food was fantastic and we all had a selection of different dishes which were all served perfectly. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. Would 100% recommend it.

Popped in twice during our 3 day stay in Kingsand/Cawsand. Lovely place right on the seafront. Wide variety of really nice food and drink. Dog friendly. Our two dogs, Duke, an English Pointer and Winnie, a mini Daschund were made most welcome and really fussed over. Fed doggy treats as well. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and they make The Bay Bar the happy, friendly place it is.

Booked a table here for my birthday whilst staying in Kingsand. Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Lovely and spacious inside and a beautiful seating area outside overlooking the bay. Food was really nice, 2 of my family members ordered the muscles, the waiter on shift that evening (after speaking with the chefs) let us know the dishes wouldn't be full portions as selling out so discounted the meal accordingly which was great customer service. Overall a great place to eat, children and dogs very welcome, lovely friendly staff and set in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend.

Popped down here after an evening wander around Kingsand and Cawsand. The restaurant was great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff combined with a lovely view over the sound. Food was excellent. Would recommend.

Best bar / restaurant in the area.

Amazing staff, we came in from a hike a sea swim and the staff offered up blankets and hot water bottles to warm up. They were very friendly. And they know how to pour a Guinness, definitely recommend!!

Food was absolutely fantastic, which is matched by the wonderful friendly service. It was a quiet day which suited us as we took our 18month old GSD rescue for her first indoor pub/restaurant visit along with our 11year old lab. We phoned ahead and the staff were only to helpful to sit us in an appropriate area. Definitely recommend, and will definitely be back in the near future.

Nice, trendy waterfront bar with exceptional service

Exceptional food. We had whitebait starters, then mains Lemon Sole and Mackerel. Dessert was a shared toffee pudding. Hawkes Bay albarino to accompany. Just fabulous food. Staff were attentive and friendly. Good access for disabled visitors, although.. as anywhere in Cornwall.. parking a challenge. Free parking in the car park just outside the village after 4pm. Highly recommended.

Beach, harbouring bar and restaurant in Cawsand Bay. You can eat in the sunshine, outdoors covered, or indoors behind large French doors. A wonderful place to relax with friends, family, and meet happy people. The food is good too!

Lovely place. By far the best value for children in the village - meal, drink and ice cream for £8. Service was OK. Another pair of hands would have been better, with the poor man running around covering lots of tables but still attentive. Meals and drinks were spot on. Fish Finger sandwiches at lunchtime are massive - beware. 👍

The food was disgusting and swimming in oil. The hummus was awful. The menu said had parmesan cheese on but not there. The pasta was under cooked and swimming in oil. It was replaced by squid in batter but too rubbery to eat. It seems they get customers because of the views but the food was absolutely awful. Recommend just going for a drink..

Visited venue for lunch, had to sit outside as all tables inside had been reserved. View of Cawsands beach was stunning as sun was out, despite windy weather. Had a beautifully prepared & presented homemade fish finger sandwich, served in granary bread with tartare sauce, salad & crisps. Also had a dish of chips to share which were splendidly crisp, light & piping hot, with an ice cold San Miguel beer. Truly tasty lunch & excellent service.

We visited for coffee and cake on a Sunday morning. We sat outside with a great view of the cove, and enjoyed watching the dogs play on the beach as we sat. The outside seating did have vehicles passing through the middle a couple of times. Service was friendly and the cakes were good, especially the carrot cake.

We had a delicious evening meal in February. There were a few spare tables when we arrived but I would encourage you to book in advance. The staff were excellent; nice to chat with. Food arrived quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Keep in mind that this is also bar, which can affect the atmosphere.

Made to feel really welcome by all the staff. Had a lovely meal with my wife and daughter, including vegetarian options for her boyfriend.

Fantastic Xmas meal. Enough food on the plate to satisfy the largest of appetites. Too much for you? That's ok as they'll supply you with cardboard takeaway boxes. The staff were cheerful, welcoming and happy to help.

Fantastic food, fresh mackerel was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Excellent wine selection and all the staff are friendly, accomodating and chatty. Would definitely recommend and 100% will come back. Thank you for a wonderful birthday lunch

Lovely food great service with a great view

Having read previous glowing reviews we were really looking forward to eating at The Bay. Our experience was extremely disappointing. The only positive aspect was a particular professional and friendly waitress. Great spot for a drink overlooking the view. We wouldn't return to dine.

We were doing a "pub-circular" walk around Rame Head and the spectacular South West Coast path. We stumbled upon this bar unintentionally (we were looking for a traditional pub) but the position of this place lent itself to a mid-walk lunch with fantastic views! The food was good and the service was excellent. We sat outside but moved under cover when the next shower swung by but there was ample seating. I had a roast beef lunch "for the smaller appetite" and it was almost more than I could eat so expect generous portions! It's clearly a dog friendly place, even to the extent of having doggie treats given to accompanying dogs by the waitress! The place is quite modern and inside, the toilets were very clean.

Pouring down with rain and too late for food, but made very welcome, including our extremely wet dog! two lovely cups of coffee were provided in no time at all, plus water and treats available for the dog. Nice place for a coffee right overlooking the small beach and the ferry from Plymouth. Staff could be more friendly, almost thew the coffees down on the table. Our response was she enjoys her job! Apart from that still a good spot .

Stopped for a drink, said be 5 min as pump being changed, partner got his drink waited 40 min nothing, so decided to pay and go, Went to pay took ages as only one person on the bar and no apology for the drink not being serve.

Location- excellent. Food- very good. Service- poor. Busy Saturday, not enough staff and bar badly managed. Appreciated the apologies from senior staff and was provided with free drinks.

Good location and food was excellent. Unfortunately the service was very disappointing as we had finished our meal already and we’re still waiting for our drinks to arrive, which eventually came after chasing a few times (standing in line for the bar queue). Received a satisfying apology from a guy named Ryan who handled the situation with great professionalism. He’s an asset to the company and they should train more of their staff to be more like him. Good lad!

Overall great restaurant. Location is great, by the sea, it has its own car park and it’s also only a short walk from the main town carpark. Service is fast and staff are great. Also the food is amazing, with options for everyone.
