The Bay in North Somerset

We have had the Sunday Roast many times its faultless a great experience every time. But lunch menu during the week has dissapointed us twice now. Yesterday we had two toasted sandwiches and one quiche. When you order you should be given the choice of plain toastie or toastie with salad & chips (extras). Also please ask don't just assume everyone wants salad doused in balsamic dressing. I asked for no chips with the quiche (I can't eat potato due to RA) I was brought chips and asked for them to remove them and the salad as I couldn't eat it covered in dressing. I had said no chips and a plain salad. They brought it back with no plain salad just with some coleslaw £9 for a poor quiche which had hardly any topping but thickly spread very horribly sweet caramelised onions on the base in an overbaked very small dry pastry case. So £34 for a very lack lustre lunch. We will not go in there again. The restaurant smelled strongly of old or burnt cooking oil

There are many places in Weston super Mare to get a good English breakfast but as we had gone to the seafront to see the very high Spring tide on 10th April we decided to try The Bay,bon the dite of the old Tropicana. Big mistake! Two fried eggs were solid as bullets with no runny yolk, hash browns had been cooked in dirty old oil and had hard black bits in them which could have broken teeth, the thin single slice of black pudding could have been used in a tiddly winks competition it was so dried out and hard, beans were warm, bacon had that thick white scum on it which comes from boiling. Tea was served student style with a tea bag floating in a mug of water. Other establishments include toast and a drink with a cooked breakfast but everything was extra here. This breakfast could not have been worse. No-one took the time to enquire how the food was. It's awful to write a review like this of an establishment in my home town and definitely not one to recommend to our many visitors.

Fantastic and friendly staff. Coffees were quite simply the best that we have had in a very long time. We will be back.

A lovely place I am a regular visitor sometimes for a cup of tea sometimes for a glass of wine sometimes for a bacon sandwish sometimes for lunch. The staff are lovely particularly Miriam and Adriana. The sunday carvery is epic I can guarantee you wont go away hungry. The best cafe in Weston by a mile

Visited here with my wife and mother-in-law for their Mother’s Day menu, and I have to say we were not disappointed at all. The food was amazing from start to finish and the service absolutely first-class. The only thing stopping us giving 5 out of 5 was the fact we were asked to pay the total cost of the fixed-price meal a day or two in advance which surprised us greatly as there had been no mention of this on their website. However, other than that slight quibble, a fantastic time was had by all, with the M-i-L mentioning it at every opportunity!

We had an excellent meal and superb service throughout. The food was a taste sensation and the hotel and restaurant is well worth a visit. We will go back again when we visit the area. 🤗

Great service and excellent food , finally found an outstanding sea food restaurant in Weston-super-Mare atmosphere was lovely definitely fine dinning highly recommend.

What a new little gem this is. We booked following a recommendation from friends and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed with a glass of complimentary fizz by our server,Johnny. He was super attentive and helpful and even moved our table to a different part of the restaurant as there was a big party on. The menu was lovely and we chose starters of ham hock terrine, mussels (divine) and gin infused salmon. The wine pairings were great and well priced too. We then had rib-eye steak with amazing bearnaise sauce and monkfish for our main course. Amazing. Whilst we were all full he managed to squeeze in some dessert!! Lemon posset, cheeseboard and a pear and pecan crumble. The meal was fab, the service impeccable the atmosphere was just lovely. We will return as whilst Weston has lots of restaurants, most are pretty average whereas The Bay is just a bit special! Well done all

A very disappointing meal to celebrate a special birthday. A wait of over an hour before the food arrived. Tomato soup was tasteless. Two of our party ordered fish, both dishes were over cooked (burnt), three members of our party had steaks these were fine but they were accompanied by cold crushed potatoes. (burnt). A complaint was made at this point to the manager who apologised and more potatoes where brought but these were even worse. Inedible. No complaints about the deserts. We didn’t wait for coffee. After 3 hours we asked for the bill which was a very long time coming. When it did arrive they had discounted the bill which wasn’t in any way compensation for a completely disastrous evening.

The Bay really is so special... It's so nice to finally dine somewhere, where you don't feel rushed and with so many added extras. We were given a complimentary drink on arrival, nuts on the table and even a special nibble to try from the chef while we waited for our food. The staff were so friendly and the food was just exquisite. Myself and family can't wait to come back again, I'm especially excited to try their roast dinner!

Had seen the place being refurbished and having looked at their website was excited to visit. There are 2 restaurants at the hotel, and we chose The Bay because it was more formal and with standards such as no trainers, was hopefully going to mean a more superior experience. We were not wrong. Firstly, the new owners have done a really lovely job of the refurbishment from what we saw. The next thing to make a positive impression was just how lovely, polite, professional, and attentive the staff were that met and served us. The atmosphere in the restaurant was exactly what I would expect from a more high end restaurant, and we were certainly made to feel very welcome, and special. As a same sex couple, sadly this is not always the case! We were offered complimentary Prosecco in the lounge area whilst we looked at the menus. We were not rushed at all, and when we made a special menu request it was met with genuine care and agreed to with no issues or attitude. The food, drinks, service, atmosphere, and decor was just lovely. I can’t emphasise enough the generosity of the set menu option at £25 per person for 3 courses, 2 sides, and a hot drink. We were also told that if we wanted to order from the al la carte menu, there would be the option of a free bottle of wine. Again, very generous for the prices being charged. The food was definitely better that standard pub food as some people have commented. It’s have top class Michelin starred, but it is very good quality and combined with the whole dining experience led me with no doubts about booking again. If I had to say something that wasn’t positive, it would be that the portion sizes were a little on the large side. You certainly didn’t need 2 sides as well as 3 courses! Well done to the new owners, and the staff we met who ultimately made the experience a lovely and welcoming evening out.

What a find! recently moved to the area and we have been trying a few places out this is now the top of our favourite list, the decor is classy and gives the place a great ambiance service fantastic from the friendly greeting on arrival to the table service everyone is very polite and efficient. Food was superb steak cooked to perfection and a great choice of drinks, will be a regular here no question

Having moved from Bristol we are accustomed to decent venues and lovely to see we're not left wanting here. The Bay is a beautiful restaurant and provides great service, it's great to see Weston's dining scene doing well and this restaurant certainly offers a lot of promise. Plus the food is pretty decent too! Would definitely suggest checking it out.

This place has undergone a total refit . We ate in The Bay Restaurant that has been tastefully been decorated and has a relaxing cocktail bar for pre and after drinks . Our meal was wonderfully cooked to perfection. This a real gem
