Been here before and booked for lunch as we we're going to see " Guys and Dolls". Food was good and service was quick. Beer was decent. Wrexham fans were in full voice.

a group of us all met up for Sunday lunch. Most of us had the Sunday roasts which came up with really good portion sizes. Food was excellent. We did need to request more gravy though and they didn't have any mint sauce/english mustard to accompany the roast lamb but that would be the only downside to what was a near perfect lunch. The staff were really good, the chap that served us (apologies but we didn't get his name - he was from Brazil) was friendly and very attentive. Would definitely recommend. Drinks are a bit pricey but I think they are in London now.

The interior is classic pub. We had a nice lunch. The food is basic pub food, tastes ok at not too high price. The beer was nice and cold. Nice clean toilets. Friendly staff

Traditional historical place. Very nice location and a quiet & clean option to eat next to the Borough market. Food was very good, high note on the meat pie and the beef, the chicken nuggets for my kid were very successful - he got two orders. Fish and chips not spectacular but good. Excellent service.

We chose this restaurant as it is a recommended stop for authentic British Food. Two of us tried the fried fish and the rest had the grilled cheese. The food was fine, but nothing particularly noteworthy. The waiter we had was not very welcoming and was rather short with us. It was unclear if it was because we were tourists, it is his personality, or he was having a bad day. However, it was extremely hot and we had been walking a lot. We ordered drinks and a bottle of water for the table. The bottle wasn't even enough for the five of us to have half a glass. We had to get his attention to get a second. Then I had to get someone else to bring us enough to have a second full glass. I would recommend asking for several bottles from the beginning as getting more, even though we had ordered drinks and food, seemed to be a significant hardship. We found some of the smaller less traveled pubs to be far better experiences with the food and service.

Terrible experience. We came to eat, but the staff was so rude and rushed that we left after we finished our drinks. They were not able to adjust to allergies and did not take the time to listen.

Cold chips, miniature leek tart. Was described as being served with salad but was just a handful of spinach. Not good value at all

Grand et beau pub anglais, qui ressemble à une ancienne banque ou l'on peut admirer des portes d'anciens coffres forts. Ambiance très british d'ailleurs ils sont là, jusqu'aux serveurs et leur look "Peaky Blinders"Les plats sont bons. Le plus difficile est de trouver une place. On peut manger à l'étage en ayant réservé sinon c'est d'office au rez de chaussée. Avec un peu de patience on trouve une table.

This is a pub in a great location by London Bridge station. However, some of the food was extremely expensive. We ordered a sharing platter for £36 and we were very disappointed with the platter delivered. Whilst the quality was good, the quantity was very small. It certainly did not represent value for money. We had to order additional food because the portion size was so small, despite the cost. Would not choose to meet there again if having food

Very nice pub with friendly staff and a great selection of beers – I try to make this a required stop on trips to London. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Visited here twice during our stay in London. Cool decor inside. Good beer selection. Enjoyed the steak and ale pie, as well as the fish & chips. Stays busy, so you may need to wait for a table during prime hours.

Appalling ! Friendly staff in a good location very much heavy tourist traffic. Service was pleasant but ridiculous at 15 quid extra on what was an over inflated view! As someone with thirty years hospitality experience at the highest level my main course of smoked salmon defied the trade description act! The mist minimum slice of oily pale fish, a few capers, a splash of horseradish cream, and two tiny not even toasted but just dried sad thin what was advertised as a bloomer! Bread was just sorry and anaemic ! Main courses in the table of the worst alleged mushroom en croute was beyond yuk Truly a waste of 135 quid ever Hospitality is at all time low Problem is it’s the norm now

This is a nice pub in a busy location. I paid just under £13 for two bottles of beer which I suppose is meant to be normal nowadays. It was nice to come in and rest our feet after a busy day at Borough Market. The lady behind the bar could have been more friendly but I suppose she's been dealing with half drunk people all day

Hemos comido genial muy bien atendidos por Paulo, un estupendo camarero que nos ha dado a probar las distintas cervezas para maridar los platos y además nos ha atendido con esmero durante todo el servicio. Recomiendo los pies (pasteles rellenos típicos ingleses) , personalmente tome el Fuller's London Pride con puré de patata y no podía estar más rico. ¡ Un hurra para Paulo !

The atmosphere and service were great. But the food was disappointing- maybe because it was just post-Xmas? We would go back for a drink but not to eat.

From booking to the meal this whole experience was fantastic! All of the group thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the service was exceptional. I want to give individual shout-outs to Kamile in the office for the way that she handled the bookings and Paolo for his fantastic service and keeping everyone suitably satiated. I would definitely recommend anyone to come here for their festive party, a normal meal or a drop of refreshment!

Great atmosphere in here , absolutely mobbed but we managed to get a seat . Friendly bar staff , quick service . Christmas decorations are gorgeous this year , love the balcony Christmas trees . Merry Christmas !

We wanted traditional Fish and Chips. We could not have found a more perfect place. The food was great. We had Fish and Chips with mushy peas along with Yorkshire pudding with an onion gravy. Staff was very friendly and provided great service.

Very disappointed with yesterday’s visit to Barrow Boy and Banker. I had booked a table for my birthday drinks. I hadn’t realised I had I had subsequently been sent cancellation emails. When I booked there had only been limited slots available. As it was they shouldn’t have advertised these slots either as they weren’t available. Staff didn’t deal with the matter very well. Thanks a bunch.

Exceptional place, i really love it here, and the food and beer selection is absolutely fantastic. The Brazilian guy (Forgot his name) was brilliant in making everything the best it could be, very attenuative, courteous and friendly, a credit to Fullers customer service. Would highly recommend The Barrow Boy & Banker to anyone as a must visit.Can`t wait to have a pint in there again.

Ultima serata a Londra, decidiamo di cenare in questo Pub a pochi minuti a piedi dalla nostra abitazione.Pub esteticamente molto carino, pulito, fresco (fondamentale per questa torrida estate inglese. almeno per quanto riguarda la prima quindicina di agosto), tavoli ben distanziati (da non trascurare ai tempi del Covid).Servizio al tavolo veloce, cortese e professionale.Mi rammarico di non aver ordinato le Pie per la quali sembra esser rinomato questo locale, allo stesso tempo sono stato molto soddisfatto dei piatti carne mangiati (ottimi sia i filetti sia gli hamburger).Unica pecca è stata la Guinness alla spina, un po troppo annacquata (ma sinceramente sono pochi i posti dove ho bevuta una guinness ben spillata).Prezzi nella sia per il cibo che le birre (nel nostro caso abbiamo usufruito dello sconto di 10 sterline a persona che lo stato rimborsa al locale se si mangia nei ristoranti i primi tre giorni della settimana).Ci tornerei più che volentieri (specialmente il lunedì,martedì e mercoledì)

Mi pareja y yo pasamos el miércoles pasado para cenar antes de tomar el tren a casa y nos decepcionó tanto el servicio como la comida. El camarero claramente tenía muchas mesas para cuidar y lo buscábamos constantemente para ordenar, ya que no hay una aplicación y no se le permite ingresar al bar; en este momento actual, exceptuamos esperar un poco más, pero no tanto. Tenían un menú selectivo pero habían aumentado sus precios porque no coincidían con el menú en línea: ¿el bistec tenía 18 en línea y 25 en el menú que nos dieron? Una vez ordenadas las bebidas llegaron incorrectamente. La comida era pociones súper pequeñas, ¡era como si porque estuvieran perdiendo dinero y estuvieran reduciendo a la mitad la comida! ! Tenía unas 6 patatas fritas en mi plato. No recomendaría comer aquí hasta que clasifiquen los tamaños de las pociones. También agregaron el cargo por servicio automáticamente a la factura.

Solo vine a beber con amigos de la amplia selección de cervezas. Lo que realmente se sumó a la ocasión fue un altercado con el portero que significó que el gerente de personal reembolsó nuestra cerveza sin beber y reclamó sus vasos. Una innovación verdaderamente generosa. Ese reembolso se le dio a un mendigo de la calle para que todos ganaran. Qué gran momento para estar vivo.

I walked in to the bar, approached a staff member (male, blonde) to ask if it possible to use the toilet before finding a table for myself and my partner. He didnt even look at me before I had the opportunity to speak, barked at me to use hand sanitiser 'its policy' (as if I had said I wasn't going to use it, which I was, I just FORGOT!) - absolutely no way to ask a paying customer who genuinely forgot this. I rolled my eyes as I was completely shocked at the way I was spoken to, when the manager (large, blonde lady with pink shirt) - literally verbally attacked me out of nowhere. She told me 'she watched the whole thing' and that I 'didnt even say hi'. She was completely vile and nasty to me for absolutely no reason at all. She was shouting at me as I walked towards the toilet and did not drop it at all, no profressionalism what so ever. I really think you should retrain your staff so they can learn some simple customer service skills! They should start by learning to smile :) As far as i'm concerned these two members of staff should be completely mortified at the way they spoke to a potential customer. Never am I ever going back in there - nor will I recommend a single one of my friends. I am absolutely discusted at the way both these members of staff teamed up to literally be so incredibly nasty.

The building itself is beautiful, staff were very pleasant and will definitely be going back - they do serve food but we didnt have any - but looked nice!

My colleague and I had leaving drinks here on Thursday, 30th. The 3 rating is mainly for the service. Not enough bar staff and those that were working paid no attention to the sequence of the waiting customers so being served fairly was hit and miss. The drinks were also quite expensive, for example single g&t was SipSmith and Fevertree so over £7. Would I go back? Not in a hurry

This pub is definitely worth a visit. The service was excellent and the food was okay, which Is why I am leaving a review ...The sirloin meat in the roast was dry, also the Yorkshire and roast potatoes were both alittle too dry, overall the meal was okay but when you are charging just shy of twenty pounds (£19) for a roast dinner you expect a little better. If this was £12 I wouldn’t have left a comment.

Set neatly at the southern end of London Bridge almost up against Borough Market while backing onto Southwark Cathedral and a stone’s throw from the vast railway and underground hub. It’s an hold bank building retaining some of that flavour and grandeur, it attracts a good sized blend of UK and foreign custom and has a well established reputation as an hospitable venue to watch important televised sport.We came on Sunday afternoon 2nd February for lunch and to watch the rugby while perched comfortably and with a good view on the first of the upper balcony style eating areas. We had 4+ pints etc. and a very good knockabout hearty lunch. Plenty is good natured high spirits and some excitement in the whole room and a steadily increasing crowd including notable and well satisfied clusters of French youngsters.Always enjoy it here.

Located next to Borough Market and a close walk to the Tower bridge station Barrowboy is a great looking pub, the dexor is old school.English complete with bank vaults on the wall. A decent enough Menu and good pub food.Staff were all friendly even the security on the Door where smiling and welcoming. We Took our 4yrs old in with us and she enjoyed her snack and soda water. .Great place for a pint and if you can get a window seat it's fantastic to people watch.Couldn't fault it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My boyfriend and I came to London for the weekend, we found with pleasure this fantastic pub, a real old-fashioned British jewel. As soon as we arrived we sat down for dinner, the place was really full of people and a bit chaotic,as you can in a saturday night. We were lucky to meet Luca who came directly to us from the bar to assist us and to translate us with the menu, his concern and availability made us really feel like we were at home in Italy. The burgers were really good and the Chips were a space thing. Thanks again Luca for making our night in London even more magical. Grazie

Popped in for a quick lunch after mooching around Borough Market. We didn't fancy standing up in the January chill to eat street food. This is a pleasant London pub, our sandwiches were very attractively presented, which arrived promptly by our very nice server. It wasn't too busy, which was good for a Friday lunchtime. No complaints!

Whenever I travel London I like to go to this pub. I find it very atmospheric. The food is great Not too expensive for London.Service upstairs is good. Only downside is that it can get noisy when it gets busy. But I still love it!

We were here for a couple hours after doing tourist things all day. It’s a cool pub. But really loud. I had a gin cooler which was really good. Also the 3 small pies and the 3 ales are good for everyone who never had them. We tried them as well. The waitress could’ve been a little friendlier.

Stopped in for a pie and a pint on a Friday night in early December. Good food, good beer. There was a very large Christmas party that took over most of the upstairs dining room and that caused the service to be a bit slow but nothing to complain about. Typical Fullers menu.

This is a great boozer if you are in the area and looking for a decent lunch. The staff are really friendly, the food comes quickly, and the quality was good. It's very close to Borough Market, so if you are for an option to sit down, relax, and sink a few beers while chomping down on a great pie - this is your best bet.

Former Croydon resident, now on the east coast, on my annual birthday lunch with friends. Good food with vegan option, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, with no time pressure. Of course more expensive than where I now live (Great Yarmouth) but this is central London, so no complaint. May well be back again next year.

After a disappointing visit to Borough Market to source lunch, we called in at this pub which is situated up the steps from the market. What a delight! It was clean, full of character, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed our lunch of a huge plate of fish and chips (for my husband) and a vegetarian award winning mini pie for me. We sat in the dais area and were served by a very friendly and helpful waiter. The meals were incredibly good value for money. I would recommend eating or drinking here.

We stopped in on Friday before the Bear game hoping to have a snack. I am a Bear fan, it was nice to have the wall map and all the Bear decor, but getting information on events was non existent. Only a few tables available for food, so had a 30 minute wait, couldn't get a drink so wandered out. For the hype of going there they were not very accommodating. It was disappointing

Very centrally located just next to London Bridge. Busy place, quick service at the bar big selection of drinks and wines. Food service is quick and the food is good pub food and it was a really busy night. Thanks for the night.

We popped in to get out the rain. We only had one drink and it was a nice enough little bar. Bit expensive but expected given the location.

This is a good looking pub, in a good location. The two meals served to us were something no decent pub should put on the table. I had Shepards pie from the daily specials board, no price was marked on the board. The veg, green beans and peas looked like they had just been scraped off another plate. Any English pub knows Shepards pie is made with minced red meat. Not this one, lumps of meat in thick gravy. The other meal was fish and chips. Awfull overcooked fish, with the worst limp looking chips seen for ages. I did not pay the service charge of 12.5%, that was no problem with the staff, who were ok. Over 15 pounds for the pie was a rip-off.

Dropped in on chance as seemed popular and I like Fullers beer. Ordered pie and chips off the main menu. The pie was tasty but the chips were disappointing. They were warm and appeared to have been previously cooked and kept warm. Shame as the pie and gravy was good.

We have just arrived from the States and randomly booked a table before we were even in the country at the closest pub to our hotel. To our surprise, the waiter was American, gave us amazing service and made us feel like any part of the world can feel like home. Thank you Mihei.

Came in because there’s a separate gin bar upstairs. Inside was an adorable, quaint pub converted from an old bank. Loved the atmosphere. Excellent service! Cannot wait to return, I would go every day if I could.

This is near London Bridge so very close to the Thames. It is quite a big venue but has a cosy atmosphere nonetheless. We only had drinks here so didn’t get chance to sample what seemed to be a varied menu. The decor is based on the old banking world which is quite unique. Quick service with a smile, definitely worth a visit. It’s close to Borough Market which is a marvel to walk around so this would be an ideal lunch stop.

On a hot day in August...we went to this bar and drank gin and tonics for hours! The appetizers were great and the service was great also.

Great location close to Borough Market. Lovely decor, I particularly like the safety deposit boxes with keys hanging out of them all above the bar. The barman wasn't aware of their advertised offers that were written above the bar when we asked him.

We just finished climbing the fire of London monument and it was sunday night so not much open. We first sat down by the bar area but no one came around so we walked up a level. Got sat and Natalie was our server. Very cozy bar. I got the tasting board i liked 2 out of 3 pies and only like one beer the ESB! My spouse got the 2 small plates he said the squid and chorizo were good. The service was good. Beer great, food just ok.

Nice, pretty, clean and has air conditioning but somehow a little soulless. The beer is good but needlessly expensive.

Looking for my next gin drink I noticed we were overcharged for our doubles according to their price list. Even though it was only 10p in the grand scheme of things it works out to be a lot more they are pinching off customers. It even works out cheaper if you buy singles instead of doubles on some brands.

My partner and I called in at The Barrowboy & Banker recently for drinks, a nice place with reasonably priced drinks, we would recommend it.
