Wednesday 2/4/2024 7pm. The beef looked great but it lacked taste and was very chewy. The Turkey was acceptable I guess but very ordinary. The Yorkshire pudding had obviously sat under the hot plate for too long and was brick- like and inedible. The rest of the vegetables were more or less ok but the cauliflower was under-cooked. The service was also ok but we were let down by the food on this occasion.

I had always wanted to try this place and when I heard that they were closing I decided to make the trip from Liverpool. I was disappointed to find a limited menu but thought it was understandable given the circumstances. The mushroom risotto was amazing (although almost cold when served) Our starters came out after the mains as another table ordered the same and were given our order. The sweet potato bites were awful, very dry and more like falafel and the calamari was not great - greasy, chewy and not a nice texture. My partners chicken burger was bland and very flat. It didn’t have any vegan cheese/sauce etc. Also found it quite pricey. I would have loved to try the carvery. Only leaving a review for the owners if they decide to open up again elsewhere

Customer service definitely lacks a bit at this place. Messaged twice over a weekly period on FB but didn't receive any replies. Decided to go anyway and try their Sunday Menu. It took an hour to be served food and the waitress was pretty unsure on what exactly is on their menu...however the bartender downstairs was really helpful with AF beer selections. The Sunday dinner was decent but would have preferred a little bit more. Wife ordered the vegetable curry which was bland (and tasted more like a chilli) and a small portion for £13. The rice was also watery and poppadoms were very grease. Overall we're unlikely to come back.

Came for Sunday carvery. Luckily for me it was a proper plated Sunday roast as I’m not a huge fan of carverys. Portions were very generous and as a meat eater the meat free steak was delicious. I’d recommend getting the extra gravy jug to ensure your big plate is covered if you’re like me and like a lot of gravy. Chicken satay skewers to start was lovely as was the enormous bruschetta. Service was a little slow but staff were lovely and attentive, plus 2 hours from arrival to leaving isn’t bad for a lovely relaxed 2 course Sunday lunch. We’d travelled for around 40mins to get there and felt it was certainly worth the drive and will be going back. Looking forward to the next vegan roast for sure.

Went here as my daughter went last year and said how wonderful the vegan carvery was. But this year there was no carvery ,they finished the carvery as apparently to much waste . We all ordered a Sunday vegan roast but very disappointed with over a hour wait for our food and when it arrived the roast potatoes were burnt , side order of broccoli and cauliflower cheese sauce ,the broccoli and cauliflower was hard and it was luke warm . Very pricey as well . Won't be coming back .

We have been to the Barn multiple times and every time we have had a warm welcome we went today as a family and brought some friends with us (their first time) and the welcoming staff were again very friendly. Once at our table our drinks arrived quickly and our order was taken. Although very busy we didn’t have to wait long for our food and the presentation and portion size were amazing! The food was lovely with a great selection on the plate. Our friends who are not vegan couldn’t get over how delicious the meat substitutes were and how amazing the vegetables tasted so much so they have already book a weekday table to sample the wider menu. Now I’ve read a few reviews about they are no longer being a carvery and we knew this because it was posted multiple times on there social media! In my honest opinion the plated service is better. We have had both the carvery and now the plated service. This also means you don’t overfill yourself and you can enjoy one of the many delicious desserts on offer! Ben and the team are extremely hard working and always aim for perfection! If you truly want the most delicious vegan roast with a warm and welcoming atmosphere then the Barn is the perfect choice. Thank you to all the team see you again very soon. 🌱❤️

We went here for Sunday lunch. As others have mentioned, when we booked we thought it was a carvery - but they have changed it to plated Sunday roasts which I don’t begrudge at all, to be honest I think I prefer it being plated. The quality of the food was exceptional, and really good value for money. Vegan food at a regular Sunday lunch place is often an afterthought, but the vegan steak here was the star of the show and was really delicious. I think there was a surcharge for the steak that we weren’t told about - this wouldn’t have influenced our decision to have it, but it would have been nice to have been told. Just a minor point though :) The best vegan Sunday roast I’ve ever had

The first time we visited in December we went for the vegan carvery where we experienced great service being able to pay for food and drinks at the bar and then help ourselves to the carvery (which was very tasty!). This time however the carvery option seemed to have disappeared and it was just table service. Menus were poorly printed which made them difficult to read, it took a little while for a waitress to take our order and it wasn't until an hour and a half (!) after we ordered that our food finally arrived despite being told that it's on its way and being plated up multiple times within that time frame. There was no reason given for the slow service, others who arrived after us in larger groups were served their food before us even when ordering the same meal. All that we were offered as an apology was a free soft drink or hot drink. The roast on offer also wasn't as good as the carvery we had previously so I'm sad to say it's probably my second and last visit which is a real shame.

Went here for a Sunday roast a couple of weeks ago (their social media said they do a vegan carvery on a sunday, which they don't) it was totally chaotic, we waited over 30 mins for our drinks, after 45 mins the waitress brought over two mains and I told her our starters hadn't yet come. She took them away and then returned and said the kitchen said we'd already had our starters?? Like we were lying!? The food was average, I'd asked for mine to be gluten free and when the waitress brought it over I asked her to check with the kitchen - turns out it wasn't gluten free which to be honest didn't shock me as all around us tables were complaining and receiving the wrong food. The whole thing was a shambles and we were glad to get out of there, even the menu wasn't properly printed.

Had visited The Barn previously and had positive dining experiences. Attended a curry evening on 18th January hosted by another company on the premises of The Barn. Despite the food being tasty, within 48 hours, the whole party of 4 became extremely unwell with diarrhea, stomach cramps and severe dehydration which lasted almost 3 weeks. One member of our party had to seek medical attention due to the severity of the illness. Reached out to The Barn politely several times via Facebook, email and phone and was completely ignored regarding the incident. Would love to know if any others attended this same curry night and became unwell from the food. Maybe we are one of many and the staff are too embarrassed to acknowledge us all Really disappointed with the unprofessional attitude and ignorance of the staff and despite being loyal customers, we won't be returning again. Also the venue was absolutely Baltic.

Booked for the carvery that they no longer serve with no mention of this until you get there, even though if you search them online the top search result still mentions this. Ended up being a mediocre plated roast that could have been made at home, although it was quite nice it was not worth the journey. Drinks were forgotten, food was forgotten and we waited an hour and a half for food. service from some of the staff was sub par, rushed and didn’t seem to be very organised. Menu was a laser printed A4 page from another table with some prices missing? Wouldn’t come back unfortunately :(

3rd time to the barn in the last 6 months… It’s a bit like riding the rickety old rollercoaster on Blackpool pleasure beach. The first time it’s kind of a nice surprise and pleasurable Second time you see the rusty bolts and it’s not as much fun. Third time you realise that money is hard earned and there’s basically no pleasure, reward or satisfaction and you should have stayed at home watching Netflix. I love Fawlty towers but didn’t expect to be a part of the cast…and not in funny way. One member of staff who was polite, inexperienced and fulfilling several rolls. Plus several youths who looked like extras in a Tony Hawks movie (skateboarder). Ordered the burger and Massaman curry. Well….I’ve never had onion chutney on a burger. It was as poor as it comes (frozen chips). Massaman curry … visions of creamy, coconut Thai fusion with potatoe etc…you get my gist. Reality …inedible bowl of chilli soup (al la Heinz), pac Choi and ….drumroll..a whole thumb size chunk of ginger. I nearly dropped my cutlery…after shoving my head in bucket of ice (Vindaloo hot). Sent it back..ate the burger..it’s what you do when you’re hungry…really hungry. Politely asked to speak to manager and was addressed by Tony Hawks skateboard carrier (youth who had been relaxing on a sofa with mateys for the last hour). Finally managed to speak to the owner, who basically had been hiding in the kitchen. I like to see businesses do well in these tough times - I would rather speak personally rather than review. He couldn’t give a damn - and stated ‘I’ll wait for your review’. Here’s to you Mr Arrogant.

Went for advertised vegan carvery, eventually told it was now plated roast dinner. Service was very poor, we left after waiting half and hour for drink and hearing our neighbouring table had been waiting over 90 mins for their dinner. I wish I could score better but we visited today and left without eating. Service was chaotic, people waiting over an hour for food. We had travelled from Nottingham specially and would love to support a vegan business but this was very poor first impression. No carvery, Sunday roast option was sausage or extra £5 for a 'steak'. Definitely a mixed experience here unfortunately. We had travelled just over an hour to come here for my partner’s birthday, specifically on a Sunday to try the “World’s 1st Vegan Carvery” which is still advertised on their website. When we arrived we were told the carvery is not longer available and will be a plated meal due to “food waste” (I have a feeling it is actually down to cost as they charge more for plated dishes now?) however if you have not been offering this service since the start of the year then why still advertise it? The roast main course has been replaced with a branded steak or sausage alternative, rather than the vegan roast joint they offered with the carvery. One of first things we were told when we sat down was that if we left a good review and showed a member of staff, we would get a free hot drink (immediately made me suspicious with this bribery). We ordered our drinks, which after 30mins hadn’t arrived, to which our waitress then told us “hadn’t gone through” when we finally received them, and was then told of a delay on the food orders…. We then sat for over an hour waiting, it wasn’t until we saw a table of 6 order nearly 30mins after us and receive starters, then get their main course before us, when I decided to ask where our food was. The waitress I asked said she would ‘check for me’ but then proceeded to walk past our table multiple times without updating us. After 90mins our food arrived (with no delay apology from who was clearly one of the owners?) the cauliflower & broccoli cheese had no broccoli in and the portion was particularly small compared to others I had seen be served. The rest of the meal was mediocre, we could have travelled significantly less for a better vegan roast dinner. No one came to check on us during our meal to ask how things were. The kitchen/bar/waiting staff clearly cannot cope with this new system of plated service, as they were consistently bringing orders to the wrong tables, or bringing the wrong orders too. They also obviously overbooking tables during peak food times. When we paid, the staff member again didn’t ask us how our meal was. We were really excited to come and try the carvery and this vegan restaurant, but overall was an underwhelming experience and we won’t be back any time soon.

If you're after a nice Sunday vegan Carvery that will leave you feeling content, this is not the place for you. They no longer serve the carvery. When we booked, we booked it for the carvery, if I was after a vegan roast I could have gone many other places closer and cheaper. The whole point was the carvery, disappointed was an understatement. It took almost an hour just for our starters to come out (which were only the vegan mozzarella sticks and 3 chicken skewers), which the staff were apologetic for but said they were still getting used to doing "plated service", however by my count it was their 3rd week doing it so in my opinion plenty of time to establish how many customers they could cope with ordering a slight variation of the same meal. The table next to us also had issues, with half of their party finishing their meal and the rest waiting almost 30 mins to even receive theirs! When our roast eventually did arrive, it was tasty I will give them that, however I think most of it was shop bought (the yorkies were "mabel's" and the veg was defo just a bag of frozen veg that had been boiled). There was no tenderstem broccoli as stated on the menu, nor did the extra "cauliflower and broccoli cheese" come with any broccoli. Considering this I feel it was overpriced. Within a few hours of eating me and my partner both started to feel unwell, he felt better shortly after thankfully, me unfortunately not so lucky. I had a very unwell stomach the whole of that night and the next day, and had to take two sick days from work. This was the only thing we had eaten out that day so it would not have been anything else. My partner did contact the restaurant to let them know however he is yet to receive a response. Without the carvery aspect it's just the same as any other vegan establishment that sells a roast, and an average one at that. Oh and the men's loo had strange photos of 90s "page 3" girls on the walls with their bums out. Safe to say we won't be back. I'd be interested to see their food hygiene rating if they actually had one... Really disappointed.

Sadly did not have the best experience here. Me and my partner originally booked for a Cavery before the new year, however they had since change to a plated only service which was disappointing as the whole reason we wanted to go was that it was a Vegan Cavery!! Although it is a beautiful place to eat, they clearly could not cope with the restaurant being full, we had to wait almost an hour just for our starters (only "mozzarella" sticks and "chicken" skewers). The table next to us were also having many issues, with half of their party having to wait 30 mins for their food when the rest had already finished theirs! I enquired about our food and the waiter explained they were still getting used to doing plated service, however by my count it was their 3rd week doing it so imo plenty of time to establish how many customers they could cope with. The vegan roast was tasty (the cauliflower and broccoli cheese didn't come with any broccoli), however a few hours after eating me and my partner both started to feel unwell. Thankfully he felt better, unfortunately not so much myself as I was very unwell for almost a whole 24 hours after (I won't go into any more detail but I certainly had lost my appetite), and had to take two days off of work. My boyfriend did contact them on social media to tell them what happened but he never heard back. Without the cavery aspect it's just the same as any other vegan establishment that sells a roast. Safe to say we won't be back. I'd be interested to see their food hygiene rating if they actually had one... Really disappointed.

Positives and negatives to our experience here. Let’s start with the positives. The roast was actually really tasty. One of the best vegetarian/ vegan roasts I’ve ever had. Super succulent. Which makes what I’m about to say next really frustrating. We had to wait an hour and a half for our food. An hour and a fricken half. The previous record time I’ve waited at a restaurant was under an hour. Was extremely tempted to leave many times. The only thing that stopped us is that my wife is a lot more patient than me and we had already paid for the food. People had come after us and finished their meal and left. It turns out there was a mistake with their ticketing system so they didn’t receive our order. However, they did check with us at 30 minutes in to clarify our order but it seems this wasn’t passed on to the kitchen as when we later checked at 1 hour in they had not received our order. It is a real shame to spend this time writing about service when the food was genuinely good.

Where to start… 2 stars because the food tasted ok and was all vegan. However, we experienced a number of disappointing issues, which should be rectified before we would recommend anyone visit. 1) The Barn serves a roast dinner on Sunday and it is no longer a carvery. All their social media should be changed to reflect this as it still says they are the 1st all-vegan carvery. 2) both plates of food arrived and were cold. The table next to us was also served a plate of cold food. 3) I had a hair on my veg! 4) there was no tenderstem broccoli, just normal broccoli. 5) the staff (expect for the young guy in the Creature tee) lacked customer service skills. We were offered complimentary drinks when I showed the wait staff the hair in my meal and said the food was cold. I had to ask to see the manager and request for hot food as they were not going to do anything about it. Creature tee, who was the third to come over, was the only wait staff to apologise, which we appreciated. 6) there were two women front of house, who asked us how our meal was. We replied that we were disappointed and shortly after OpenTable emailed to say our booking was cancelled. This was to stop us from leaving a review there. 7) the art in the male bathroom is misogynistic and distasteful. 8) when the food arrived for the second time, there were no roast potatoes on one plate. Perhaps most concerning is point 6 as they are clearly and intentionally preventing honest reviews of a negative nature being made public. I would not return here nor recommend fellow vegans to visit.

My wife and I ate at the Barn on the recommendation of a friend, and it was excellent. Neither of us are vegan, but we thoroughly enjoyed the vegan dishes we tried and to be honest you would be hard pushed to distinguish some of the vegan dishes on offer (eg the chicken satay) from the meat-based 'real thing'. The staff are very friendly and there is a great atmosphere in this family-run business. We will definitely return. PS At weekends it gets quite busy, so it is advisable to book via their website.

Really nice food. Was disappointed to hear that the vegan carvery has been cancelled at The Barn but actually loved the meals, so I'm not too fussed. A nice selection of 0-0.5% alcoholic which is always appreciated - including one I'd not tried before, which was even better. Food was a bit of a wait to get served, but overall, I don't think that worsened the experience as I enjoyed the food. Yorkshire puddings? Yes, please, they were structurally perfect. The only significant irritation was some meathead at the door getting annoyed about vegan food being on the menu, but thankfully, he didn't stay long.

I would definitely not return to this place. First of all on their website it says it was a carvery, which it definitely isn’t. The food had to be preordered. When we arrived we were told to sit upstairs and someone would be with us shortly. It wasn’t until about 25 minutes that we realised we had to order at the bar, which is fine if we were told this when we were greeted at the door. After we went downstairs to order (2 roast dinners, 2 cauliflower cheese sides and 2 drinks, £50!), we went back upstairs to wait for our meals. It then took an additional 55 minutes for our food to arrive. It wasn’t very pleasant, the seating area upstairs was very cold indeed. When the food arrived it was extremely disappointing, the vegan chicken was drier than the Sahara dessert, the root vegetables were practically raw and the green veg was swimming in cold water. The cauliflower cheese, which had broccoli with it had burn ends. The food was pretty mediocre, not worth the price at all. Staff are friendly, but that’s as far as it goes for this establishment. To top it off I drove over an extremely large pothole in the entrance to the car park, which I’m sure damaged my car. Only thing I enjoyed was my Pepsi max. Would never return and anyone who reads this i strongly suggest you avoid this place.

All 3 courses were delicious, the surroundings warm and comfortable, and the staff friendly and very highly organised. You could see that a lot of planning had gone into making it all run smoothly. Vegans need more eating places to understand that loving animals does not mean that we don't also like hearty tasty food. You could easily bring non-veggie friends here without feeling apologetic. When we eat out,we don't want lentils and mung beans (been there, done that) Well done and thank you all for a great day.

We travelled up from Cornwall to experience a completely vegan Christmas, and were not disappointed!! We messaged ahead of time to ask if we could stay in the carpark in our camper van which was kindly accepted, no payment necessary! On arrival we were greeted by Sarah who helped us with the best place to park the van, they even let us plug into their electrics to change our battery! We had already eaten by arrival on Christmas Eve so went in for some drinks and were given a bowl of roast potatoes which were delicious! Our 3 year old made a great friend in the owners daughter and they played for the whole evening together, the pub had a toy kitchen and lots of board games/ books to play with which was a huge bonus. Christmas morning we were kindly made a cup of coffee each which we were very grateful for! We booked to eat there for lunch and my god the food was just incredible! oriental trio and the chorizo scallops for starters, we all had Turkey from the carvery as our main and then desserts were biscoff cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake. I couldn’t find a single fault, the food was absolutely delicious and even better that we didn’t have to check anything, it was all safe for us to eat. Every single member of staff took the time to chat with us, nothing was ever too much to ask and they all seemed happy to be working Christmas Day! We were then kindly gifted some chocolates and a gift voucher to return which we will definitely be doing!! Thank you to every one at the Barn, this Christmas has been unforgettable and we are so thankful to you all.

Since visiting the barn a few times we’ve realised although the carvery is amazing, if you are coming for anything else you are much better going elsewhere. We’ve visited a few times but our experience last night best sums up The Barn on a regular visit. We visited the barn on the 11th February 2023 for their Valentines set menu which cost £35pp so £70 overall for two people and compromised of 4 courses. 1. After seating us, it was clear the waitress had no idea what the valentines menu was. She asked what we wanted to drink even though the valentines menu said it came with Prosecco. She then asked us how much Prosecco we wanted and after ordering, she had to come back and state we didn’t get a choice in size since it was a set menu. 2. As a starter we were given some tomato soup with a soft breadstick. I’ve never had a soft breadstick but assumed it was homemade and was intentional. 3. We waited 1 hour after the soup before I had to ask where the next course was. Upon asking the barman, he advised it would be another 10 - 15 mins. 4. When the waitress came to collect our second course (which was thankfully better than the first), I asked the waitress how long the next course would take since I was getting deja vu of their tasting night (Where it took took 4 hours to serve 5 courses). She said the food was cooked on a first serve, first come basis (even though we saw groups arriving after us, getting served before us and leaving before we’d had our second course) and would take around 10-15 mins. 5. The main course came out promptly which compromised of a ton of rice, a small amount of lentil chilli, a small amount of tortilla chips, some very obviously shop bought sides (guacamole, salsa and cheese) and 3 small wraps between the two of us. Keep in mind we were paying £70 for this. 6. I asked the waitress why we’d been given 3 wraps when there were 2 of us. I said surely it’d make sense to give us 4 wraps so we wouldn’t have to split one in half. She said she’d check with the chef. 7. I waited around 10 mins before asking again about the wrap was in which she said she forgot and would check with the chef 8. Eventually, someone came out and informed us that we were only meant to receive 2 wraps between us and the third one was a mistake but we could have it for free. Again, we were paying £70 for this and we got 2 small wraps with the main. One each. If it wasn’t clear already, at this point we felt the set menu was extremely overpriced. 9. We ate the main course which was extremely average (honestly felt I would’ve done a better job at home) and decided we didn’t want to waste any more of our time or money. So I went to the bar and said we had no interest in dessert and wanted to go. Thankfully, the barman was very understanding and got (who I assume was the assistant manager) who offered £15 off the total (which I was grateful for) since we wanted to leave and skip the dessert. Although the poor to average quality of food was surprising the incredibly unorganised, poor service was not.

Wouldn’t recommend. We went on a Saturday at midday, service was poor throughout the whole time being there. Between 4 of us, we got the kebab (meh), the burger (pretty good), tofu & chips (meh) and the bratwurst (but they had no bratwurst so we got chicken as an alt - see pic - serving size was a joke). Biscoff cake was ok ish too. Inside is done out nicely inside but was really let down overall - you don’t usually find bad vegan places.

Used to go here regularly pre lockdown with the dog great atmosphere and we could sit in front of the fire was a great treat on a Sunday to eat here and bring the dog , visited here a few months ago and I was very disappointed with the new layout of benches etc the homely feel is not there anymore it's a shame.

I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed 😔, won't be returning and not value for money, cold to luke warm food, bar staff all over the place, not sure what was going on, the gravy was in the soup urn and vice verse & as for the vegan meat, rather small on the servings.

Best vegan place for food, atmosphere and people! My family and I have been here a few times and it’s by far our favourite place to go. Their new menu is fantastic! It’s nice to go to a restaurant and not have to ask ‘is this vegan?’ 😅

If y’all thinking that this is going to be an enjoyable dinning experience, then think again as you would be wrong, after driving 30 minutes out of our way we was rejected for food by the Owner purely on how we looked an obnoxious owner processed to tell us during dining hours that the kitchen was closed mid day while people where still being served with food and takings orders.

We went for the Sunday Kind Carvery. The food was absolutely amazing and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. The only downside was that there was a huge queue at the bar to order food. It would be a lot easier if they had one person at the till and one person making drinks instead of one person doing both during busy periods. That would speed up the process massively. All in all we had a great experience and we will definitely be returning. 😊🌱

I went to the Barn yesterday with 4 friends for lunch. I always book as it’s busy. The 4 friends all eat meat & not very knowledgeable about vegan foods but we’re keen to try it. We had an excellent lunch & all really enjoyed our visit. The food was hot, tasty & beautifully presented. It was a new experience for my friends & one they are keen to repeat. I’m already looking forward to a return visit. The waiter who served us was brilliant & very attentive.

We went to the Barn Pub and Restaurant for the first time last night. Lovely place. So cosy. Great selection of drinks and the food is imaginative. Really like their ethos. We were served by a lovely guy who had just recently started working there.

The food was delicious, and lots of options. There’s definitely something for everyone and plenty of drinks choice as well. Although they have a different Saturday menu and it’s much more limited compared to their weekday menu, and it didn’t seem clear on the website that they had this separate menu. There were some dishes i would have loved to try but couldn’t as i visited on a saturday evening. But I chose to have the carvery and was very pleased with that. The atomosphere was friendly although there was a dog yapping away through parts of the evening (no fault of the restaurants though) Lastly the service was pretty quick considering there was only one waiter looking after all the tables. The staff were super friendly and i’ll definitely be back again.

I have been taken here twice now by my vegan other half and been dissapointed by the miserable staff each time. They act like it's a chore and annoyance that you are there and tasked with providing hospitality. The food on a Sunday is grossly overpriced for what amounts to dried out vegetables and meat substitutes made of questionable ingredients. I felt like an idiot for standing at the carvery counter to be spoken to like I shouldn't be there by a young girl who obviously had better things to be doing. My elderly in laws came with us last time and they didn't want the "carvery" but inquired if they could pay the 2 course option and have two starters instead. They were told abruptly no and ended up not eating anything before a long drive home back south which ruined the afternoon for all of us. The person at the bar was happy to turn down thirty to forty pounds plus drinks for her own personal satisfaction. There was an incident on another table with a couple whose young kids were playing with one of the games provided near the entrance. Another table of miserable sods complained and the staff came over and told them they would have to stop, reducing the children to tears before they had to be taken outside to comfort by thier parent. Never again. It's a miserable place with terrible service and overpriced vegetables. People must be oblivious to the concepts common courtesy, good service and hospitality to waste money here.

Good vegan roast but very noisy mainly due to one family indulging in a game of hungry hippos at their table. The pub is child friendly which is great but this very noisy game is not appropriate in a restaurant. Totally OTT and we noted one customer asked a member of staff to have a word with the family which, reluctantly it seemed, he did. After this we could enjoy a normal conversation on our table and I imagine other customers were grateful too.

Really enjoyed the vegan Sunday roast here- absolutely fabulous to have a vegan carvery in the area. I really enjoyed the vegan Turkey and the Yorkshire pudding. To improve the roast overall the potatoes could have been cooked better- they are dry and aren’t really crispy. Service was excellent and staff were super friendly and catered for the allergy sufferer in our party really well with a full allergy menu.

Food was good, a lot of thought and effort gone into it. Roast up potatoes were amazing, gravy was great and not too salty like everywhere else, mash was delicious, nice to have vegan Yorkshire puddings too! Veg was a little disappointing but may have been a one off. Great to have not only vegan options but gluten free too. Host/manager was lovely and accommodating (Sarah? Can't remember, sorry!) The venue was really nice, with a huge garden for the kids to play in, and for some unknown brilliant reason there was a life-size picture of Jim from Friday Night Dinner with his dog in the men's toilets.

Had the Sunday carvery, excellent value, you can help yourself to seconds of veg, but you probably won't need to. The faux meat itself, they make it in-house which is nice, its mostly wheat gluten based, fairly neutral flavour, which when combined with everything else is fine. The desserts looked nice but I had no room. Vegan ale was also good. Really fun unique experience, I'd like to go there on an a la carte day to try the tofu & chips.

Really disappointed, headed to The Barn with high expectations but sadly the majority of the food was pre-purchased and heated to order. My wife found a spider in her side salad and despite informing our waitress there was no offer of a refund. The bacon was also missing from my burger. Not sure what else to say, this place had the potential to be great but the food and atmosphere were really poor.

Booked to go here on Saturday in the week prior via the online booking system all ok. To cut a long story short over the cause of the week we get told that the normal menu isn't available and that there's a taster evening. After some communication breakdowns as in we get contacted by email and phone, and never get the same person and they then don't talk internally we are booked in for the taster menu, all good. Well there's still a bad turn to this story, and judging by the lack of internal communication we'd experienced already in the lead up the next bit wasn't a surprise when we look back at this. So about 10:00 Saturday morning we get a call from a number which at the time couldn't answer. So after searching the area code, it's Rugby so we call back in about 5 mins of the missed call. No answer though we leave a voice mail. Now we move onto Saturday evening, we travel 35 mins to get here to find out the taster evening has been cancelled!!! We can't believe it and to be fair the lady behind the bar was very apologetic, and even offered us a free drink. We didn't take the drink though did take her recommendation to go to a local pub to eat, which was ok. Whilst we were at the other pub we had the cancellation email come through for our booking!!!! I have to say I've never experienced such bad communication from a restaurant, it's just very poor customer service. I mean if your cancelling an event you make sure you get acknowledgement from the customer, or at least leave a voice mail. I mean if they'd have cancelled the booking in the morning at least we'd have known there was something wrong and not made the trip.

We came to The Barn as a group of veggie/vegans for my sons 21st Birthday lunch. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside for a drink before heading in for an absolute feast!!! I'd already enquired about allergies as my son is also gluten free. There was loads of choice and it was nice to have different dishes, not just the usual options. The staff were all really helpful and friendly, really easy going with our orders and timings. We were there for about 3 hours as it was just a really nice space to be in. My son is autistic and we felt completely welcome and at ease, which isn't always the case. We also brought our dog who was given some water and treats and loved exploring the open space. Outside you can see there are lots of plans and I think this is going to be a really brilliant business over the coming years. If you're not vegan and you want to give it a try then this is the place to do it!!! If you are vegan and fed up of having 'the vegan option' on the menu then this is definitely the place! We will definitely be back! Thank you for making our sons birthday really special, he absolutely loved it!

They clearly have an excellent chef, the food was really delicious and well presented. The downside was that it took nearly an hour for the food to arrive and the music was way too loud for an eatery (fine for a wet house or nightclub). The bar tender did turn the music down when we asked and did offer us a complimentary drink for the long wait on our food. I'm not sure if I would visit again, as service and ambience are as important as the food.
