Wow … we had afternoon tea for four and it was ‘out of this world’ which consisted of 4 mini pots of hot soup, 4 half’s of cheese and onion hot jacket potatoes, 4 mini hot steak pies, salad, 16 sandwiches, 16 mini cakes and 8 mini scones with clotted cream and Jam and of course tea and coffee. This is without doubt the best value afternoon tea we’ve ever had. The value and quality of the food is outstanding. Will recommend and definitely returning. Thank you to the excellent staff who are very friendly for making out mothers birthday treat so special.

The Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for developing a joint forward plan for the NHS over the next five years. The ICB forms part of the Integrated Care System across Lancashire and South Cumbria, the formal partnership of organisations tasked with improving the health and wellbeing of the population (minus me, Dad - Grandad) of course – Lucie Robertson and her mummy, Jean Hudson/Wright, have seen to that adequately: well done to all bistro colleagues, e.g. Peter Hudson and grass cutters, e.g. Dave Robertson, concerned). And as part of their plans, the board wants to improve the standard of care they offer so that all patients have equal access to the same high-quality care, no matter where they live in Lancashire and South Cumbria. This is what hospital Trusts usually do just before they make big changes, which more often than not, ends up worse for all, it will try to save money for the few, but I bet my house that this means more managers, higher banding for these mangers and their friends, plus it will not be something new, neither will it be something that different, they will just be giving something a different badge, but I would encourage residents to get involved, and make sure they understand the impact this will have on themselves. If there are any losers in this scam it certainly will not be the management.

Do not show the ability to understand family needs. I had not seen my family for many years and looked forward to the experience of seeing my grandchildren for the first time in many years. I was placed in a table which was too far away for me to talk to those little ones I loved so dearly. There was some difficulty in rearranging the seating accommodation in the first instance but this was subsequently sorted out by the very accommodating staff. Visited The Barn for lunch, very limited menu, we went just after 12 o'clock and were unable to order what we wanted as there were none of the type of sandwich left that we ordered.The food was very average and the place lacked atmosphere, don't think we will visit again.

Booked in for the Bavarian Themed Afternoon Tea and can highly recommend it. Beautifully presented and a lovely selection of Bavarian style fayre. Excellent customer service from very friendly staff, with warm mulled wine and hot coffee, a lovely way to spend an afternoon with family or friends.

Highly recommend the Bistro! Been numerous times now and the food has always been superb. Great value for money and quality food! Staff (and chef) are so friendly, attentive and professional. Baby friendly! Superb for Gluten Free and Coeliac’s (not the cafe (no GF lunch options, only cake); just the Bistro).

Visited on a Wednesday lunchtime. Several parking spits available, and we were shown to a table very quickly, despite there being other people arriving. The staff were very friendly and took our order as soon as we were ready. Unfortunately, the ' hot beef baguette ' I ordered was very disappointing. Thin slivers of cold beef were served in a nice baguette with a good helping of fried onions, which quite frankly was pretty tasteless. My friend had a ham sandwich which was declared OK. She ordered an extra side of chips for £2.50, and both meals were accompanied by frozen chips. At these prices why not fresh home made chips ? It would be so much better. Not a total disaster, but would not be able to recommend. A shame really as the service was great.

visited for breakfast, very cheap sausages used, not a lot on the breakfast paninis, very tasteless. not what we expected from a local coffee shop.

Just a couple of coffees this visit. Well pleased with location and strength of coffees. Will be back!

We've eaten here a number of times and every time it has been excellent. Great choice of specials. Food is delicious - one of my favourites is the posh fish finger butty followed by the ginger and pumpkin sponge. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Would absolutely recommend

We just had a cup of coffee, but it was very nice and a very nice setting. Parking could be a pain but Mark's square is only over the road

Wow With a party of four, we had the best Christmas menu ever. The home made chicken liver pate was really tasty, Oooooh’s and ah’s around for the traditional Christmas dinner. The Herb crusted salmon fillet was huge, beautifully cooked with a variety of veg and so good...........we had to ask for a rest before we tackled the wonderful, very filling, dessert. Coffee to end......magnificent! First class! Well done to the friendly team at The Barn 🏆

Oh dear, this used to be a good restaurant but not today. Long wait for two Soups and then it was served cold. And no bread bun.

Having visited the coffee shop and really enjoyed it we decided to try the restaurant.It is very new but that didn't detract from a pleasant lunch.It is a fairly basic menu but even gor a veggie like me there was a good choice.The food is very good value .Great for an informal lunch.The stand out item for me both in the restaurant and the coffee shop is the staff .They are a young team all so pleasant and eager to please.I will be back .
