Highly recommend this pub if you're ne w to the area. Right by Leicester Station. Great atmosphere and friendly bar staff. A nice constant vybe too. Pretty sound check it out 🤙🏼 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Called in a few times as I have been working on and off in Leicester for the few months. A decent little pub that has beers that are cheap as chip.

The staff are so rude and insulting as well as the regulars. The bar tender was incredible rude, and insulting to me and my boyfriend making us leave straight away. The smell when you walk in is awful… it sticks of wee and it’s all that you can smell when you are in the pub.

Only went in for a couple and it was really a nice atmosphere and staff were lovely aswell definitely call again

Generally decent. Reasonable beer prices. The loss of two stars is because the male toilets smell so bad that I retched and nearly threw up. They need a thorough clean, disinfection and some ultra strength drain unblocker.

Fantastic venue, always great for a football, rugby and basketball home games, always busy and full of friendly faces, great mixed crowd, live music / bands and a fun night out. The landlord Tobie always remembers your name and is super hospitable along with the other bar staff, The assistant manager Sadie is a good looking girl as well. Highly recommend this as a safe environment, mixed crowd and open to all walks of life, decent pool table and decent prices. The bare staff are brilliant - Matt, Kyra and Ryan and the doorman Danny is super hot too 😍🥰

Tried here last night for first time. I prefer a normal old pub than these new ones. Had quite a good mix of people to local workers to suited people. I was alone and people always chatted to me like you where friends. Prices are very good also. Would highly recommend.

Great place to have hangout with friends

Only a quick visit. So, my rating may not be taken as a full rating. This pub was visited during a Wednesday evening, and no food were purchased. On the positives, the atmosphere was calm, but tinged with a touch of edginess. This was mirrored, but masked well enough, by the barmaids. The 'locals' themselves were true locals, ie down to earth and 'working class'. Show civility and respect, and you'll be reciprocated. Drinks were the usual standard fare. Nothing special. There's a pool table and football 'on the box' too. Despite these positives, there were only two immediate negatives: a) it was a cold Dec day and coffee wasn't served (only cold drinks sold), and b) two of the locals decided to 'own' the pool table despite having an inkling that my colleague and I had wanted to pit our skills against each other (but we were polite and didn't force them off). Overall, not my sort of pub but it has its own 'charm'. It's a bit 'old world' for me. I would be happy to visit it again (if these two same 'far out' locals don't own the pool table next time?). For the full experience, I would feel punch-ups, blood, spit and hair pulling has been a part of this pubs history, giving it it's own special character. Waiting for Del to walk in now...

Great pub! We go on the way to and from the Rugby. Downside: only one Guinness pump but I'm told they're getting a second one installed soon. Fair price. Great pint. 👍

Unfortunately, on the day of probably the biggest RU game of the season for Tigers, the Barley Mow managed to sell out of Guinness. As a result I didn't stay long enough to check out the food offerings.

Went in Saturday like being in a kids club.serving kids specially one outside with his dad drinking a pint disgusting behaviour and yes he was under age talking about school🫠disgrace to Leicester

Came in for a quick drink on the way back home was chatting with a couple of locals and bar staff all were friendly pint of Stella £3.60 TVs for sports music on in certain evenings toilets clean will be going to visit again soon!

Me and the sister had a bit of spare time before catching the train so we had a cheeky procecco moment,well nice on a hot day

Bad vibes. My partner and her sister were heckled by the single customer on a Thursday afternoon: some drunk old boy at the bar. Barman seemed to think it was hilarious. Drank up and left. Do not recommend.

Nice pub. We had gins and sat outside and people watched. The staff was super friendly. Toilets were clean.

Went in to this pub at a dinner time on a Saturday with some friends, service was excellent.Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Only place I found open to have a beer after shopping in sweltering heat. Shame they do not serve food.

I'm 68 yrs old and yous to go to this pub when i was a young man with my mates when I visited Leicester ,and I have to say it's a 100% better now. Great barstaff and brilliant atmosphere.

I only call in on the way back to the railway station, so I'm not sure that my opinion might be worth much, however, the beer is good, the staff seem bored or disconnected. It appears that they have favourites or locals who they favour, their choice obviously, but you won't go in here to get a warm welcome 🤷🏼‍♂️

Got served quickly but not cheap. Pint of Strongbow £4.90, went to the off licence across the road afterwards, a Pint can of Strongbow £1.45

Now under new management. It's clean and presentable with some fashionable beers, shots and bottled drinks including Zero Alcohol lager and cider too, which is excellent. The photos on this info page need updating because they now don't sell Everard's draught Beers and they don't currently serve hot food either. It has had a basic makeover and it now has additional australian style seating in a seperate area at the back. However, I demoted one star because the Toilets haven't been modernised and there isn't a disabled persons toilet at the moment. Hopefully they will convert the current ladies and gents toilet areas, which have very narrow cubicles, to two disabled accessible toilet rooms and a smaller trough area for gents who prefer to stand.

I've heard it's closing which is sad. Not many proper pubs left. Was a regular back in my student days.

Sadly it’s not the pub it was once before. Really needs a revamp and hygiene is poor. Regulars think they have priority and staff prioritises them. Serious attention needed. Not a good image.

The staff are always nice and helpful

The staff here are rude and racist, to the point that their regulars feel comfortable abusing and assaulting passers by unprovoked whilst the staff encourage and laugh. Not only this but they then aid them in avoiding the police by letting them leave through the back door. Do not waste your money here

Staff were so rude. I had to leave as I was that angry after a very young girl tried to take a bottle off the table that was half full and in the process nearly threw the contents all over me. Which is a real shame cos its somewhere we could go regularly with the pool table.

What a funny little pub. Definatly a more mature bunch of people here. The Pool table was very popular and although there was music it was not so loud that you couldn't talk. TV's constantly play football etc. Shame it is on such an awful street.
