I was shopping with my mum and sister on Melton Road and we were looking for a restaurant that serves non-veg food. We came across Curry Fever and decided to give it a go and we are so glad we did! The restaurant is very clean and looks great inside. The waiter was very friendly and helped us to choose our food. The food was made fresh and was so tasty. It was definitely the best mixed sizzler we have ever had! We are very impressed with the excellent service and tasty food! We cannot wait to visit again and highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited for an early dinner with family. We ordered the prawn biryani, afghan murg chicken, aubergine paste curry and lamb takatak. Food was delicious and the kids ate twice their usual amount then raved about it after. Service was really good too and the chef kindly accommodated our request for a nut free mild curry which was a hit with the children.

I visited this place with my husband during Christmas break to spend a quality time eating curries. We were delighted to be greeted by the lovely staffs. We had ordered paneer pili pili for myself and pili masala chicken for my husband. Curry fever had a Great ambiance at the restaurant with a soft and comforting background music for a couple to spend a good quality time whilst enjoying curries. The curries were cooked to perfection and had a flavourful slightly spicy kick to our preferences. The food was great and the service too. Definitely would recommend it to others and do try the pili pilis.

Visited this place on 18th Dec 2019 with my friends. There was an event happening but we were welcomed and were given excellent service. There was wide range of curries, so it was difficult to decide. Manager of the restaurant Narayan approached us with great smile and recommended to us the Pili Masala Chicken which is said to be one of the signature of this restaurant and after having tasted it, I can see it why. We ordered pili masala chicken, chicken Karachi and lamb Tawa. The pili masala had a slight kick which went well with our taste buds. Lamb Tawa was the chefs speciality and it was exceptional, very soft and tender pieces. Karahi was also slightly hot which was delicious. We had 3 Butter naans which weren’t over burnt just enough crispness to our preference. Overall, the food and service was excellent and worth the money.

Wonderful food and staff especially the head chef who gave us his time to have a personal, informal talk with him.Unfortunately for him although it was authentic indian food and it tasted beautiful;the menu for me was very satisfactory and didnt not have all the dishes i expected it to display on there as options for me to choose from and the drinks menu was not clear to me either and i found just the drinks on there own a bit pricey but overall the atmosphere was quiet, tranquille and the decor was very traditional and interesting.

I was recommended this place from a friends .Decided to come on Saturday with guests .we specially came from Birmingham and mentioned to one of the staff members it was my first visit however i was offered free popadom as complimentary. The food was not so bad and so was the service but we did find it very unusual when the chef was walking around to the tables with apron on and asking whether the food was good and he was laughing out loudly which made it even strange and in between we wanted extra chapati and we had to order it to the chef as he was next to our table and he quickly rushed of to the kitchen and lauding about chapati what a chef, first time experiencing this new thing in the restaurant very strange and awkward.

So last year we popped in on the way home from Brighton speed trials n loved the food here so we were all looking forward to going again this year. Unfortunately I think it’s gone down hill a bit since then. The meat samosas were small ready made tasteless rubbish the same kind that you get at all terrible takeaways! The main was perfectly nice but the lamb was a little dry. The waiter didn’t even bother passing us our individual meals & drinks! Just plonked them on the table and left us to do it! Think next year we’ll try one of the other restaurants down the same street.

You may think this is excessive however, it’s the way it is. On my periodic visits back to the UK from my home in Malibu, (CA) the first thing I do (usually while going through customs) is to call my pals and arrange a visit to Curry Fever! I absolute love the ‘traditional Indian restaurant’ vibe; wouldn’t change it one bit. I’m used to excellent service and that’s what I get every time form Sunil and his guys. My friend and I visited the "curry fever restaurant" after a wonderful days shopping down the golden mile. I have eaten at many places along the road, which we all absolutely love, but this place is a little more luxurious. We had a window seat, which was fantastic for people watching and we felt very content and cosy. Because we went at an unusual time, the restaurant was quiet, but we didn't feel like we were an inconvenience at all, we felt so so welcome! The staff couldn't of done more for us, even though it was one of the managers lunch breaks, nothing was too much for these friendly and professional men. Because my friend and I were so busy savouring the amazing food and enjoying our time together, the time ran away and I had to leave early, otherwise I would of been late to pick up my son in another town, so they bagged up the rest of my food for me to eat tonight. We both had the vegetarian thali which consisted of a mixed vegetable curry, chana masala and dal makhani, also came with rice, salad and I chose to have a paratha, all of which were out of this world incredible. I also have some Punjabi khadi to bring home and try under chefs recommendations and it is utterly Devine! I absolutely insist that you try this restaurant! If you don't, you really will miss out! I can't wait to take my husband there on an evening, because we really want to try the Kenyan inspired food. Can't wait until next time!

We were visitors to Leicester and we hit and hoped on a curry restaurant. I ordered a Paneer Piri Masala which was just Paneer in a thick sauce but boy, it was the tastiest curry I've had in a long time. It was almost a hot and sour taste and absolutely full of flavour. The naans were also the closest we've had in the UK to what they service in India, small and crispy - perfect! My husband had a Chicken Madras and again he said it was full of flavour and he couldn't eat it quick enough. The service was attentive and friendly and so when we visit again we will make sure to head back here. We saw the waiter reuse the slice of lemon, switching from a plate of food to a fresh bowl of salad. Not only was this act disgusting but speaks strongly about the standards of hygiene that the restaurant maintains. The quantity is terribly less and the presentation is lame. Heavily priced menu, plus you'll get charged with extra taxes. All starters are a cheap rip off made with below grade meat cuts, and the lamb is not tender. You should definitely avoid visiting them.

Poor attitude and lack pure customer attension and promise. No apologies and no table! We came across this restaurant after setting out to go to another one that happened to be full on a Sunday evening. After walking past a few, mostly Vegetarian ones, we came across Curry Fever. Wasn't sure about the name but the menu looked pretty good and looked inviting inside. Staff were very welcoming and attentive and the restaurant owner was a fantastic chap to talk to. This restaurant has been going for 37 years apparently which is becoming a rarity in this day and age given the amount of chain restaurants knocking around. I opted for the chilli paneer as a starter which was lovely with just enough heat without being over spicey. For my main, I opted for the Palak Chicken which was some beautifully cooked chicken mixed with a blend of Spinach and Masala. I have to say, this was probably the nicest tasting dish I've ever had in an Indian restaurant and I've tried a few over the last few years rarely sticking to the same dish. I'm actually from Essex so this is my first time in Leicester and eating other than meeting the people I came to see, this was the highlight of my trip. I really hope to visit them again.

We visited on the Saturday before the main Diwali day, and the restaurant was of course pretty busy.I found the service very good, unlike some reviews... My main dish was enjoyable, if not spectacular, but my partner and daughter were less keen on the Chicken Curry. My main issue though is the prices. Leicester has a wonderful selection of excellent Indian Restaurants, and for it's type, Curry Fever is among the more expensive (especially if you look at the drinks menu) but I felt it sat firmly as average in terms of food quality.I would visit again if friends wanted to meet here, but I would probably look elsewhere otherwise

Having had this place recommended to us, we thought we were in for a real treat for all the family. First impressions weren't great, the decor is very dated. The service wasn't anything special to start with and only got worse. We waited 30 mins for our main course, when they did eventually arrive, there was no rice, which was ordered at the same time to accompany the main dishes (as you do!). We had to ask where the rice was, by the time it arrived, the main courses were near to cold. They were much quicker with the bill......it was almost instant!! On the bill, there was a 10% charge for eating in......we're did they expect us to eat it!? When I complained about the poor service, I was told "we got the rice to you eventually". I certainly will not be eating there again, nor recommending it. The food was average, the service was poor!!!

The staff also were very polite and service was timely and again efficient. But the price wasn't good. It was the most expensive curry we have had in a while and just a walk a few hundred yards down onto Melton Road would have delivered as good a curry but a little more cost effective. The decor and outside of the restaurant was very tired and dated so to get a top rating there is work to be done,

I've been eating here for 25 years, since my dad brought us all here when we were kids. The warning given by anyone who knows the place to check your bill because they like to add mysterious dishes is very true - be warned! Great food, kept us going back for decades but my most recent visit where the staff told me to go elsewhere if I was too cold, and the owner simply told me not to worry about it when I complained took the last straw.... Followed by 3 mysterious dishes on my bill, and the owner defending himself by saying he never charged me for the curry sauce I had! Terrible service - and I've known them for decades.

The variety of people dining here says it all from big family group to couples to grannies, such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Food was very good, tandoori choices seemed most tasty, but not tried enough variety (yet!) to say what is best. On our visit, poppadoms were excellent and with excellent free chutneys (which weren't whisked away) we thought they were good value. Overall perhaps a bit pricked than some but worth it.One highlight of the visit was a toddler who wanted to visit everywhere. He stole the show and the staff and other diners seemed to enjoy his presence, unlike some places where parents would feel unwelcome.

The staff are welcoming and always remember you. The manager is friendly and he treats the head waiter a little like Manuel! The food is great without ever waiting too long. Not the cheapest or the most dear. Just a good place to go.

I visited Curry Fever with a friend and we were there for lunch. After checking the menu on the window we went in, however the lunch menu is much reduced in comparison to the evening menu which is on the window, so we both ended up ordering something we didn't really want, but it was absolutely gorgeous and very reasonable. It was very clean and appealing and, on the day we went, fairly quiet.

Great food but being charged £1.30 for a poppadom was daylight robbery at £15 for our table! 11p per poppadom at a supermarket surely can't equate to £1.19 more in a restaurant ?!

We recently got a take away from the curry fever. What can I say the taste was just outstanding! The curry I had was a chicken makhani aka butter chicken. I can honestly say it's the best chicken makhani I have ever tried. We will go in soon and have a meal. The waiter sunil gave us some good advice over the phone too. Definitely recommend this place to all.

Been a family favourite for over 25 years so we visited Curry Fever for an early dinner for Mothers Day. Arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was freezing so we asked to be moved away from the door as there was only one table occupied. We asked 3 times but no response from the waiter for 30 minutes of sitting there with out coats and scarves on (the table next to us also had their coats on!). After a frustrating half hour, we complained and asked again to be moved but the head waiter responded with 'well go somewhere else then' after storming off which was appalling and no apology was received. Due not having booked anywhere else and it being mothers day, we decided to stay. Food as always is amazing, which is the only reason we've returned year after year. They forgot one item from our starter, and another from our main course then a few mysterious items were added to the bill (which is something they're known for)! Considering we've been coming for 25 years, the service has gotten worse each time - the food however remains good though!

We went there and enjoyed the meal. I must say that their methi dishes are probably one of the best we have tasted. Their starter like fish is really dear and not that great for the price . Drinks are a little higher then most places but their breads are nice and worth it. They definitely need to revamp the place and the menu....it has the early 80s look. The staff are fairly attentive and you won't need to tip as there is 10% service charge! our bill meal for two with 2 drinks came upto around £60 plus

Have you ever heard of a eating in charge at a restaurant??? look no further, this reasturant decides to charge its customers 10% of their bill to sit in the restaurant to eat. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life! Not once did a member of staff come over to ask how my food was or if everything was okay or whether i needed anything else. The waiter was impossible to communicate to, messing up my order twice and having to read out what i wanted over and over again till he understood. Once the bill came the manager was arguing with me telling me how it is compulsory to pay it. Basically it is a service charge however have renamed it and attempted to try and tell me they are two different things. No like the meal alone is cheap, an average main chicken dish £10????? This is more than london princes. The only credit i give is to the chefs as the food was good. However if you are looking for good service with your dinner, do not even think about coming here.

My family and I are long serving customers of Curry Fever. The food at this restaurant compares to no other because it is really good! Leicester is known for it's famous curry houses but this restaurant really does stand out. Amazing food and really polite and helpful staff. Sunil, the manager, makes you feel at home on your every visit.

Staying in Leicester for the weekend and decided to investigate the festive street light we could see from the hotel. Walked the length of the road eventually finding this restaurant. Although it had only just opened (1800 on a Sunday ) the staff were delighted to welcome us. The food was delicious and plenty. Four different curries were ordered - each was freshly prepared and served nice and hot. We were suitably impressed !!!!One word of warning though - be careful of the Chilli Nan Bread - it is hot, hot, hot LOL

Interesting menu, with dishes from Kenya, and Indo/Chinese cultures as well as all the usual suspects! Pleasant atmosphere, lots of local eating here - always a good sign.

Came here for a business Lunch with a Curry Fever local. I am not totally sure what we had as I let our customer order for us but it was excellent. The Bill says that that the starter was Jeera Chicken, the Main Dish only states 'Chicken Dish' but it was fantastic, whatever it was. Service was friendly, I believe it was the owner Sunil. Will definitely return.

Not a good experience, a family night out spoilt by terrible food that was badly presented and didn't taste very good, combined with a high bill made this all very unpleasant evening out, its not what it was....

Have eaten at this restaurant many times arrived with 3 friends we had lamb that was chewy and flavourless , the curry sauce had no depth of flavour, spice or taste, we were all concerned that the normal chef wasn't there anymore, will have to go back to eating at paddy's. As the prices charged in this restaurant are high they have to provide top quality food, and not mediocre standard takeaway.

So frustrating, we ordered take away at 7pm NYE expecting a delay but over 2hrs later it's not arrived and they haven't answered the phones. They took the money and the customer service has been awful. Be honest, what kind of service is this? Very frustrated.

I always come here for indian sweets. Jelebi made fresh at the weekend is lovely. I find the spicy food better at other places but it is still very good, just my personal preference. Chocolate bharfi is lovely. I tried Chocolate oreo bhari for the first time. Lovely. The food always taste fresh. Take cash as the card machine may not always work. Takeaway only. Pure vegetarian.
