This place is the best place to eat in leicester, the food is very tasty, the service is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and helpful, food is served quickly. 5 STARS for everything.

I’d been recommended Tangoe by many friends and family so over the festive Diwali weekend we decided to order food, a takeaway. What a huge disappointment we fade: the chilli paneer was dry and tasteless, the logo was like cardboard - very difficult to swallow and the noodles were dry and lacked flavour! Come on Tangoe, you can do better than this! Hopefully, they’ll improve their quality of dishes! Thank you

I have been gluten-free for over 20 years (not by choice), and this was the first time I was able to enjoy Chilli Paneer. It was truly worth the drive up from London. The rest of the food we ordered was amazing as well. I highly recommend the Aubergine stir fry and the Crispy Bhajia. I can't wait to come back! P.S. It would be great to have larger sauce pots with the Bhajia.

Tangoe has been around since my parents time in Leicester. I had been recommended it by a friend, but I wish I didn't go. Food options are limited, the menu is not reflective of what is the actual availability of items. No breads are served, so if you visit, you're only really visiting for fusion starters etc. Service was very slow despite there literally being our family the only ones there. Not worth the price.

Had a Takeaway and must say it was nothing special, most of the dishes were bland. Sorry to say we won’t be returning.

Hadn't been to tangoes in a long time so we decided to check out the reviews and see if it was worth it. Saw a few negative reviews but thought we would try anyway. Unfortunately it was a reminder why we stopped going in the first place - Chilli chips were sweet - dosa was mediocre at best - chilli mushroom, not chilli and no flavour - Stir fry Aubergine were too salty

Hi i was very disappointed with my recent visit especially with the food and the menu. What the menu promising to be in the menu does not match the item at the restaurant which highly disappointing and upsetting as its literally misleading customers and it really spoils the moment and the atmosphere of the occasion. Yes the menu at the restaurant had crossed out the bread and naan but orders naan as a starts so we looked at the starts and ordered it. Later when we looked at the menu A- it was limited collection from the curries to choose B- there was no naan. Apparently the restaurant stop doing naan because there was not enough order however then why the website still advertising naan and bread as one of the item of the menu. Whicj is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MISLEADING. After we finished the starts we ordered mains although there was hardly any option to choose as there was no bread/naan so we ordered daal and rice and a pareen curry. Normally in any restaurant well the most restaurants that i have been to give out different plates for starts and mains which to me is common. However on this occasion/visit I had to ask can we have some new plates and then was question how many do i want knowing we already given back most of the plated used for starts so therefore surely we need the same amount of plates. But once SOME new plates given i got questioned again if we needed more. We was family of 10 people but only some plates was given. During the experience i had to keep asking the staff to switch on AC as it was way too hot and uncomfortable to sit and i don’t understand why they had to keep turn it off as top of my head i asked 3 times and all the 3 times AC turns on and goes off after awhile which i personally feel its not good. I AM TOTALLY AND TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MENU AND THE ITEMS NOT AVAILABLE. Yes no doubt the staff member was friendly but i was just disappointed with menu selections and items not available. I would appreciate if the website at least update the menu and relook other alternatives instead of naan or bread or have more other dishes available to balance out naan or bread. Thanks

Brilliant food, service and atmosphere. A wonderful range of gluten free food options. I'm always spoilt for choice here.

In reply: sorry you are mistaken, when I called the lady clearly confirmed our reservation for 7:30PM. But you then said when we arrived she apparently said wanted the table back by 7:30PM, very disappointing service and shocking that a table wasn’t sorted out promptly due to error on your staff side. Had a reservation today and arrived to be told by the rude manager they are fully booked and can’t give us a table! Travelled all the way there to be turned away. No customer services skills and will not return.

Love their food! Always get takeaway! But definitely need to dine in more! The 3 in one and aubergine stir fry are the best! Everything is pure vegetarian so it's great! Also best place for pani puri in Leicester !

Lovely restaurant interior, great food as always. Great mango lassi and passionfruit drink.

Ambiance and service was good. Table was clean. Price was reasonable and portions were adequate. Asked for starters to be served first but was told that this is not possible and that everything would be served at the same time. There was not enough space on the table for all dishes. Really don't understand why starters couldn't be served first. We ordered 6 different dishes. They were all served within 5 -10 minutes. Paneer was tough, chilli chips were soggy, crispy aubergine was hard and dry and no garnish on sev puri. The food tasted like it was stale and reheated. Certainly not cooked fresh.

We asked for a take out of various items including chilli paneer and crispy aubergines. The paneer appeared like it was just reheated and hard, the crispy abergines were not coated in batter and lacking taste. I called and complained, the person who picked up the call said there was nothing they could do. Please note, they don't even give you a receipt.

Been going here for years , top service and food cannot go wrong with the Indo Chinese is top notch , and the staff are great helpful and friendly. They even do catering orders for party’s . Will be always ordering .

As we were in the vicinity for shopping and it was lunchtime, we couldn't resist the pull of Tangoe, so we placed an online order for pickup for Crispy Bhajias, Crispy Aubergine and of course Chilli Paneer. Delivery time promised was 15 minutes and was ready when we got there! The taste as expected was excellent! I would definitely recommend Tangoe.

Lovely food and great portion sizes. The prices are also great for the food. It works out to be £10-£15 depending on what you get.

Tangoe Restaurant is a unique vegetarian restaurant in Leicester with varieties of Indian foods and beverages. Kind staff and very good service. Those who want to enjoy vegetarian food must visit there. A place for eating alone, with family and friends. Take away also possible.

Walk-in collect. Ordered Chill Paneer to take home. Found the food to be poor..Paneer was dehydration and hard..it was not cooked fresh..more like left overs from days before. Feeling very angry and disappointed..won't recommend gi there..😬🤮

Massive portions! Amazing service ! Mouthwatering food.... Been coming here for the past 5 years . Highly recommend .. It's very filling so I'd suggest ordering 2 dishes and no starters.. this way u will enjoy the taste and not over indulge

10 min to make noodles and chilli paneer ,i feel like the quality of the taste is not right anymore dont think i will be going there again also using cheap take away container flimsy,

Ordered crispy bhajia, crispy stir fried aubergines and 3 in supreme. Excellent indo Chinese food. The only criticism is that the chutney that accompanies the crispy bhajia is too little. Otherwise good service and tasty food.

I have Tangoes food about 4 times a year. Yesterday, I ordered a takeaway and unfortunately it wasn't good. I don't know what they are doing with the stir fried aubergine but it was cold and burnt (I don't know how i got that combo) but I presume it was made from previous orders that was refried 2 or 3 times, left for 30-60 minutes in a box and served to me to take home. I would have given it 1 star but they have had ok food before (and at least the masala dosa was good) Advice to others: If you order a takeaway, check the food in the restaurant if it's up to standard before you go home with it or you'll have a sad face :( 25/10/2025 update Just been to tangoes as an eat in customer. So much better. Food was fresh and no issues. I changed it from 2 star to 4 star

My favourite place in Leicester. Prices are very reasonable and more importantly the food is delicious here! The 3in1 is my go to dish all the time. A lovely evening eating a range Indo-Chinese dishes. Will be back very soon. Next week infact!!!

Best spot in Leicester for amazing food and tastiest food. From management, to food to the lead Roy. Roy is the best you can ask for in management. He went to another level to look after my guests’ and. On top of this the food was delicious. I’ll be having more get together here again and again. If you havent dined here. Tangoe Restaurant is a fantastic venue, everything from the management to the food to the atmosphere is excellent. Roy the manager went out of his way to accommodate and make our get together so special’. The food was excellent and we can’t all wait to be back again soon, highly recommend this restaurant for food and party of any kind.

This was the first time me and my wife visited tango , we walked in and approach one of the staff who could not even bother to say hello and he showed us where to sit , at this point there was only one table occupied, we ordered our food which was a bhel , you would think you can't get that dish wrong, I have to say it was the worst bhel I have had since my ex wife made it but that's another story, my wife ordered a masala dosa, which had a bland filing, sambar very thick also bland, coconut chutney watery, red chutney was I don't know what. The dosa itself however crispy, the small saving grace, went to pay the bill , still not a word from the person who serve us , took my money and not even a polite thank you and hope you enjoyed your lunch ! Goes without saying will never visit tango again.

We have been visiting Tangos for many of years now, the restaurant and staff are always super helpful, very clean, the food is served super quick and their prices are very reasonable. We are always recommending to our friends and family! 100% recommend

The owners kid is to aarogant and no manners on how to speak with customers who have a concern and food quality is terrible.

I had guests come over from London and we were all vegetarians and so we decided to go to Tangoe restaurant. As soon as we entered the restaurant we was treated respectfully by the workers. We had ordered variety of food and they all tasted so delicious.Also, the prices for the food were great for the top quality food that they serve. 100% would recommend for anyone to go either by themself or as a family.

They serve good Indo-Chinese food and the best crispy aubergine in Leicester. They do serve chat, etc as well but it is not their forte. Avoid if you can. I have heard that the chef here used to work at Indigo restaurant before. So the Indo-Chinese food here is similar to Indigo but more economical and greater quantity.

Back to regular eatery to have our favourites and we were not disappointed. Chinese noodles and aubergine stir fry were exceptional. Will be back. 2023 Update. Good as always. Quick service with a smile. Food not as good. Stir fry was a charred abs salty. Dosa was thick and not normal paper thon. Will return though.

Poor customer service. Server refused to provide us with fresh plates and expected us to eat mains on the same plates used for starters. When fresh plates were requested, the server responded with “this is not fine dining”, which was rude and uncalled for. We then requested for only two fresh plates instead of replacing them all which the server then responded with “I can give you only one”. Absolutely appalling, will not be returning.

The service was vey poor. The manager was rude. After are starters the manager refused to change are plates . He just kept on banging on we had to eat in the same plates. We kindly requested him to change and give us 2 plates but refused and then said we can have one plate . We left without eating are mains. Absolutely ridiculous service . Do they not have enough plates or is it their policy. If it is then they should clearly put on the menu we do not change plates on a notice board. Ridiculous

The best Indian food in Leicester. I've been here so many times and the standard of quality has always been incredible. The food is fresh, the portions are large, and the taste is authentic.

The best Chilli Paneer /Shazwan Noodles and Crispy Arbagine fry in Leicester, highly recommend. Staff are super friendly (Roy) 🙂 if you ain't tried it, do so and you won't go anywhere else after 💯 and portion sizes all well worth the £.

Crispy aubergine was really tasty. Portions are really big so one starter is good to fill you up. Overall it was a nice outing for afternoon tea.

Our food came within 10 minutes so obviously it was heated up in the microwave, however it tasted okay. The waiter taking our order needs lessons on customer service he wasn't ,cheerful and welcoming otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

i have been coming here since i was a kid, and honestly the best indo-chinese food I've ever had! I have been many places in the world to see if anyone could match Tangoe regarding taste and not a chance. Please support this business. If in doubt, because of negative reviews, feel free to go to the restuarant and see for yourself how many orders they have and fulfil, with the quality of food still being top-notch!

Chilli Paneer and Manchurian was OK. Dosa was undercooked and had to ask for another which, again was undercooked so ended up not eating it. They also did not have all the chutneys so just gave 3 tubs of coconut chutney instead!! If you have something on the menu, then it should be available!! Bit of hit and miss.

If you love Indian cuisine, Tangoe restaurant is a must-visit in Leicester. I have been doing take away food and dinning in for years. The dishes are flavour some. Their Paneer masala dosa is full of flavor, and the Aubergine stir fry is best ever . The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is friendly and attentive. Overall, Tangoe restaurant is a great choice for a tasty and enjoyable dining experience.

Try to understand that and improve rather than telling all negative reviews are fake Can't believe the owners of this restaurant are not reading the reviews. Everyone is complaining about the service, doing nothing to improve it. I also had a pretty bad experience at this restaurant last week I doubt the owner itself is the guy serving.

Nice place for indo-chinese food. The quality and taste of the food has changed over the years. Standards have dropped from what is was.

Tangoe has become an institution in Leicester; chili paneer like no other (bar one...) The restaurant had a major refurb last year and it looks classy and cosy inside now, a decent place to enjoy your indo-chinese and South Indian food. The portions are always huge, the prices are always reasonable and the service is always super quick. Compare Tangoe to the other similar restaurant and for me Tangoe comes up the clear winner every time. I'd recommend all the different paneer dishes, the crispy aubergine, the noodles (all varieties) and the crispy bhajia. If you're looking for an eat-in or a takeaway, you can't go wrong with Tangoe.

I have not tried many dishes from here but few of this dishes you will probably never disappoint: 3in1 (Combo of Paneer, Mashroom and Mogo - you can replace mashroom with Potatoes if preferred) - ASK them to make it crispy to cook them well, it will be dry cook but won’t be soggy if you are taking it away. They cook with Green Chilli (very spicy), lettuce and green peppers and some seasoning along with dark soya Sauce I have also tried chilli Tofu and Chilli Paneer and Chilli mashroom. I have also tried their Crispy Bhajiya - But never take away. Always eaten in-store. All above dishes been regular on my order almost every week from past 7-8 years. Just have to make sure I tell them to make it Crispy. Must admit: they need to improve custom services. Roy is best at service and talking with customers, he knows most of his regular customers, Others needs a bit training. Customer services is a key for every business.

Would give a 0 if I could. Ordered online and specifically asked for our food to be ready at 7.35pm for a party. My husband went to collect at the agreed time and the food was cold! He was informed it had been prepared early and just left sitting on the side! Pathetic!

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. Food is a bit hit and miss...some dishes are fine, others are not so great...South Indian food is not up to the mark...Indo Chinese is not too bad. However, the service is consistent - consistently bad! There is a bald guy who was there on both occasions I visited and he was terribly rude and unhelpful. I don't think I will be visiting this place in a hurry.

Disgusting service, food has gone downhill and the service is shocking. Bland, tasteless, burnt/overcooked cold food given and the prices are not worth the dish!! There's far better places in Leicester for indo Chinese! Wouldn't recommend Tangoes anymore
