The chef made us a meal that wasn't on the menu. It was the best meal, the service and quality of food is amazing. So welcoming.

WE asked the Barge & Bottle to supply a buffet at our 25th Wedding Anniversary Party. They were superb; not only was the food fresh and on time, but Donna along with Jamie looked after the whole thing, making sure everyone knew what they were choosing in addition to pointing out what their Chef had crafted. I saw people with plates piled high; and I mean really piled up, with some returning to the table for more. In fact, there wasn't that much left over, with people taking 'doggy boxes' with them. This was a very efficient, professional operation with a gentle touch, so thank you again Donna and Jamie and not forgetting Mick who came by the next morning to collect the dishes and utensils that the food came on, Just simply brilliant!

Read the reviews looking for lunch in Sleaford - mixed reviews - but decided to try for ourselves because often in amongst very good reviews are the dissatisfied customers The outside - looks like a small venue - walk inside & it’s much larger, brighter than we expected Lunch menu - plenty of options - including vegan We ordered two sandwiches, upgrade to include one portion of sweet potato fries Food arrived much quicker than the 45 minute wait we had expected Good size positions, tasty sandwiches, good value after our experience of many places shrinking portion sizes Staff friendly & attentive Pleased we decided for ourselves and both felt a great lunch time choice

We dined at the Barge and Bottle on Sunday when visiting our daughter. We have been there several times and it never disappoints. The staff are welcoming and friendly but very professional, giving their customers the best possible experience. The menu is extensive - we have sampled various dishes in the past, but it was roasts for us on Sunday - beef, lamb and salmon with an impressive assortment of vegetables. For dessert we ordered the homemade chocolate and orange cookie with ice cream. Absolutely delicious- would definitely recommend it and hope it’s on the menu next time we visit! The restaurant is spacious and the tables well set apart- another plus, so you don’t feel crowded by other diners. We had a lovely relaxed lunch and will definitely be back. Our thanks to all the staff.

As always the service was second to none, we felt like we were the most important customers they had. The attention to detail is amazing, they picked up that there were peppers in the veggie choice I made, I had asked for no peppers in my salad. The quality of the food was great and excellent value. Thanks to Mick, Donna and all of their staff for making our family birthday and anniversary lunch most enjoyable.

We recently had our wedding reception here and it was the perfect choice for us. In the planning stages, Mick and Donna couldn’t have been more helpful. On the day itself, they were amazing, as were all of the staff working that day. They were really accommodating and made sure that our special day went smoothly. We had an afternoon buffet for 50 people, and the food was excellent. They made sure that our vegetarian and gluten intolerant guests were well catered for too. We only had two children in our party, and Donna made sure personally, that their needs were attended to. Mick also organised a disco for us in the evening which was great value. The DJ made sure the music tastes of our guests were catered for by working through a playlist which we had submitted in advance. He was also flexible and took requests on the night. We had more food for our guests during the evening, but unfortunately not a lot was eaten as everyone was still full from earlier! A special mention must be made regarding the decoration for our celebration. Although we supplied flowers, candles and other items, many more were provided by Agnes, a friend of Mick and Donna’s. She spent the evening before the wedding and the morning of, decorating the restaurant area. She really went above and beyond to make sure that the room looked amazing! We really had the best day and will be forever grateful to Mick, Donna, Agnes and the whole team. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Barge to anyone looking for a venue for a similar sized celebration.

The food we ordered was delicious and well presented, there were four of us and we had no complaints whatsoever, the staff were very friendly. We will be eating there again soon.

Just had lunch. I chose chicken korma and my wife had beef chilli. When the food arrived, it was piping hot and tasted delicious. Obviously made from scratch by a chef who knows his stuff and cares about his food. Waiting staff were all very friendly. Pleasant dining room. Will certainly return.

Another wonderful meal at this fabulous establishment. The food is consistently amazing and the portions are extremely generous. I am very comfortable eating here by myself as well as with friends and family as the staff are so friendly and always go above and beyond to make you feel special. It’s my favourite place to eat in the area and has been for many years.

Really friendly staff, excellent service, nothing too much trouble. They were busy, but served efficiently and with a smile - terrific. Food was delicious, large portions, nice presentation. We arent from the area and came across this place on google, a review saying ‘new favourite place to eat in sleaford.’ so we thought we would give it a try. It was definitely worth it. not bad pricing with excellent quality food. would highly recommend!

This is a fabulous place. What a discovery! There's a massive menu with everything you could possibly imagine. I was expecting decent pub grub but could not believe the quality of food on offer. I had large grimsby haddock and chips - delicious. So fresh and a big portion. We also had pizza -again, freshly cooked and home made. I could see people around having lovely roasts too. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The atmosphere in the place is lovely - not too loud and pubby. Good space between tables and nice booths. I don't know how they manage to have such a wide ranging menu and produce it so freshly. Would highly recommend. Ps reasonable prices!

Great pub. Has slowly become a regular for us over the last 3/4 years, had a 20+ person Xmas do there which which was excellent.

We were there for a Club Christmas Lunch, 30 of us, pre-booked. The service by management and staff was excellent, pleasant, polite, helpful, could not have been better, made us all feel as if we were the most important customer they had. We were served quickly, which was tricky for the staff as there was a very good choice of starters, mains, sweets/cheese and biscuits, everyone that I spoke to thoroughly enjoyed their meal. For myself and my wife, our meals of salmon and turkey, respectively, were excellent quality and there was plenty of food on our plates, first class. One member of our party, who was there without his wife, asked if it was possible for the staff to make up a small portion for him to take home, for his wife, this they gladly did, and refused to take any payment for it. The whole Christmas Lunch experience just could not have been better. Thank you Mick, Donna and all the staff, especially the chef.

Went to the Barge and Bottle, Carre Street, Sleaford , Lincolnshire For Sunday lunch we had exceptionally friendly welcoming on arrival and being shown to our reserved table. Asked immediately if we wanted a drink whilst we looked at our choices from the extensive menu’s. We both had Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. The drinks arrived a short time later . Including a bowl of water for our Dog which we had taken with us. Several members of staff came over to say hello and acknowledge the dog , very friendly. The food arrived a short time later, far to much for us to eat, 7 kinds of vegetables and a pot of gravy . Excellent food , so much we couldn’t manage a dessert. All for £40 . Me and my friend came in on Saturday, it was extremely busy however they still managed to find us a table (as we forgot to book!) and despite how busy they were they couldn’t do more for us. On top of that the food was delicious! Thank you!

A table of 11 of us descended on The Barge for New Year’s Eve. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was phenomenal, the service, as it always is, was professional and friendly. Always made to feel welcome, and always a great night out, New Year’s Eve was outstanding even by their own high standards. The best New Year’s Eve we’ve had for 20 years, hands down. Wow, what an amazing experience at the Barge and Bottle for New Years eve 2023. Donna and Mick absolutely know how to put on a show, combine that with such amazing staff, Richard, Chris and Clive were as always fabulous (everyone one else but too many to mention). We started with Mussels in a garlic, white wine and cream sauce which as the photo shows was amazing, I then had quite possibly one of the best steaks I had ever had, well rested, lovely and pink in the middle. Thanks to the whole team (joe) great chef and part of a brilliant backroom group who constantly excel at great food and presentation. Cheers folks - keep safe and above all keep smiling.

It always amazes me that whenever I visit the Barge &Bottle, the experience is always one hundred percent. Given the extensive menu they provide, the food is always hot, tasty, wholesome and presented well. The Chef caters for everyone! The staff within the restaurant/bar are literally dynamo’s! They move at the speed of light to make sure you get your food at its best. You will receive the best welcome ever and a grateful thank you and goodbye.
