The Bank in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Service was very good, the restaurant was only open for limited service, outdoor eating only, the covid precautions were strictly observed. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the last time I was there, the scallos were well cooked but dry, the prawns were disappointing and could have been purchased from tescos or similar and the triple cooked chips were soggy, cold and looked overcooked, possibly in less than hot fat. All in all not an experience to repeat sadly, so disappointing as the last visit in September was outstanding

Visited here today (18th May) while visiting Bude and we loved it! The service was great, food was great and cocktails even better. Love the set up of the restaurant it gave it such a nice atmosphere and every member of the team made us feel comfortable, they even very kindly helped us with arranging a local taxi. Thanks again!

We had a lovely tapas meal at The Bank for my husband’s 40th. You can sit outdoors whilst it’s still covered with heaters and blankets. They also have private pods. Staff were lovely and happy for me to bring a birthday cake. I particularly liked the chilli jam prawns whilst the children loved the meat balls. Would definitely recommend.

Booked a table for 17:45 and after following some great Covid Protocols were shown to table 26, well spaced and blankets and an overhead heater made it cozy. Zoe introduced us to the menu and soon we had drinks and nibbles followed by 5 excellent Tapas dishes, not all authentic but original and tasty. Zoe was an excellent server and the price reflected great value for money. If you are in Bude go!!!

Warm welcome, with all the safety measures clearly explained and in place.Obviously eating outside, but plenty of blankets & heaters.Food & service? Totally top-notch as always! Some lovely new additions to the menu, all cooked and served with flair & professionalism. Cold outside, but a warm welcome.

We ordered Takeaway as limited space due to COVID restrictions. We misjudged how long it would take us to arrive - we arrived super early but they quickly prepared our food for us and delivered to our car - staff all wearing masks and distancing. All the dishes were delicious - we will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

I’m gluten and dairy free and my husband and I had a fantastic meal. They recommend you order 3, I’d definitely go with one or two and something to split. Lots of food but also lots of £££ if you’re not careful. Delicious and a great choice!

This is the most amazing restaurant, food fantastic cocktails delicious and all the staff are so amazing. We had a outside pod , so warm and cosy, even have blankets in there if you get a bit chilly. I can’t wait to go back. 10/10

Great food and evening at The Bank. Bude. Amazing selection of tapas and main meals and wide drinks menu. Food was delicious and generous portions. Lovely atmosphere and environment. Loved the idea of pods overlooking the river with heaters and lights. The Pino Colorado was the best I've tasted.

Fabulous Tapas restaurant with seating both inside and in outside dining pods. Covid regulations were well observed by helpful, welcoming staff. They were fast, efficient and attentive. The food quality was first rate, portion sizes generous and prices reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Had dinner here on our first night of our mini break in Bude. Booked ahead to avoid disappointment, and very glad we did. We managed to get one of the outside heated pods (great for social distancing!)The service was excellent, the food choices were plentiful, the portions were very generous, and the food quality was very good too.Would definitely visit again, if in Bude.

This marquee type Spanish restaurant is extremely popular and the quality of the food is excellent. There is a good selection of wine at a reasonable price. Their chocolate fondant was cooked perfectly. The combination of Cornish ingredients and Spanish cuisine works well.

We were visiting Bude for a week, walking part of the South West Coastal Path. It was actually quite difficult to book in here, even though I booked more than a week in advance. I could only find a table for our last night in Bude. We now understand why! Absolutely lovely meal! We enjoyed everything we ordered. I do agree that the tapas are slightly larger than normal. We felt that 5 items were very adequate between the two of us. We had a lovely pod for us and our dog who was exhausted from the week walking so slept soundly while we enjoyed our meal. Everything seemed very covid safe. One improvement we felt could be made to the pods was to make them feel a little more intimate with improved lighting. This is only an issue once it gets dark, but will become more of an issue as the nights draw in. The overhead light is extremely harsh. Maybe some fairy lights or fake candles would give a nice ambiance. Pods lovely and warm, with ability to regulate the temperature should you wish to. Overall, a really lovely meal and experience with excellent service.

QR code scanned in, hands sanitized, warmly greeted and shown to our pod. The experience in the pods is great, safely shielded from all the other diners. The three of us were in a lovely postition to watch the wildlife outside, and still be warm and cosy while we tucked in to the wonderful food. We opted for bread and olives with dip, then the Meat platter with some tomato and onion salad, and that was plenty. Then somehow we managed to scoff some lovely desserts to round off a great meal out. We also got to take the leftovers home in takeaway boxes. Can't wait to go back and try the Fish platter. Brilliant.

We had such high hopes for this place, we love tapas as well but I'm sorry the food we were served wasn't nice. We were told portions were larger than normal tapas but seemed no larger than any tapas I've ever had. We ordered pork belly which was greasy and chewy, potato bravas which should have a trades description act, chorizo with black pudding which was swimming in grease and not good quality, chicken wings in bbq sauce for my daughter which were over priced, scampi tails with pea and mint which didn't work, scampi was cold and tasteless, meat balls which seemed to be plain meat mince rolled in balls in a tasteless tomato sauce, really bad. With bread, olives and a bottle of house rioja and a mojito and coke £100, quite a lot I felt as I left feeling a little sick. I've no idea where the decent reviews have come from unless they've lost their chef because I'm pretty sure somethings gone wrong here. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Visited The Bank with family. Great atmosphere, all diets catered for, delicious food and the service was great. All Covid procedures in place and being followed as necessary.

Because of Covid, and having a family member shielding, we haven’t been out to eat in ages. But it was our anniversary and when we saw the little pods they had built, we thought we'd take a chance. The staff made us feel incredibly comfortable, wearing masks, cleaning the pod, providing hand sanitizer. Plus, the food was wonderful (especially the scallops), and the view was fantastic (great location and the pod was plenty warm). We will definitely be back!

Open Table booking was easy!Birthday treat and the dining pod was not only very COVID safe but a novelty and our dog was able to join us.A Spanish/Cornish tapas fusion, service was attentive and explanation of dishes showed passion and interest in all served.Food was ‘good’ our favourite being the meat paella.Recommend you book early - as mentioned Open Table made it easy.A novelty dining experience in this exceptional world

Birthday treat for me. Book early as gets really busy, and rightly so!! My dog was welcome and even had a bed ready for her. Staff were very welcoming, even during these challenging times. We had a lovely table by the window with views over the nature reserve, and were lucky to see a kingfisher. Very lovely house cocktail, of which a few were consumed!! Food was delicious, large portions, and staff happy for you to take extra. Couldn't have been a lovelier birthday dinner!! Highly recommended. Plus Trevs taxis got us to and fro with the doggo with no problem.

We all wanted something a little different and this tapas hit the spot, the staff were friendly and efficient. The four of us choose 9 dishes in total and shared the lot and they were all very nice, the butter bean dish could have done with a little seasoning but apart from that we would definitely go there again next time we come to Bude.

On a break due to our Spanish holiday cancelled. Eventually got a booking and we were not disappointed. Lovely welcome and felt very Covid secure. They went to great lengths to make us and our dog feel welcome. We booked an outside pod as we had our dog and it was a glorious sunny October evening. Warm and cosy we tucked into our chosen tapas. Portions are big and 3 portions per person is more then adequate. Staff were there to assist and provide further drinks and were very attentive. Would make a lovely evening there sampling cocktails etc but Covid allows us 1 hour 45 minutes to experience this wonderful place. We like it so much we are going to visit again when pop down in a few weeks. Thanks again guys. All the best

Visited after other reviews.we were left.The service was good,and the pod idea lovely.but the food unfortunately wasn’t that good.we have had tapas in many places including several in Spain and the bank was unfortunately a long way short.we had the potatoes bravas which were okThe meatballs in tomato sauce were at best overcooked.the sauce wasn’t reduced enough and didn’t have any taste other than a Tin of tomatoes.the prawns with cod were the best-fish cooked well but again sauce lacked any depth,the chickpeas were nice but again depth of flavour missing.we don’t like to give bad reviews but feel we have been honest with our opinion.i don’t think we would return.

Never had tapas before but we had read the reviews and decided to try the bank. We struggled to book a table but luckily we were on holiday in bude for a week so was flexible with our days. We managed to get a table on a Wednesday evening..the food was delicious!! Staff were amazing and as attentive as they could be with the current situation, they made us feel very safe there. We ordered 6 dishes and a portion of bread and that was more than enough for 2 people! Sangria and estrella was our choice of drink and they went down perfectly with our tapas. I can see why we struggled to book a table as it was delicious and seemed a very popular place to dine!

We booked online to guarantee a cabin as we had our dog with us. It was great as he could be off lead in our own cabin. We ordered cocktails and sangria and they tasted amazing! We were recommended 2-5/3plates each so we ordered 6in total. We were told they were generous portions and could take whatever home we didn’t eat. We weren’t blown away with the quality of food and we didn’t eat the chicken wings as they weren’t crispy just slimey (which we didn’t get charged for). The staff were friendly and attentive and we felt safe with all the procedures in place for covid.

This was my first visit to The Bank, quality of the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful in these unprecedented times. I felt very safe and the nothing was too much for the staff....well done I will be back.

I have just booked a table online for one of the pods. The process took under a minute and couldn't have been easier. Can't wait for our next visit.

Arrived and was so warmly greeted. New COVID procedures fully explained . Have to say their procedure for customer safety was spot on. Food excellent , arrived hot , well cooked, good choice of menu, didn’t have to wait long and our party of 4 were served all together. Love the declaration of no microwave was used used !This restaurant will now become one of our regular haunts.

Had dinner there, 8pm booking. We arrived a bit early but that was not a problem and the very helpful young man checked if our table was ready (it was). He clearly explained the new procedures for covid and couldn't have been more polite about it.Anyway.....the food.....we had calamari, pork belly, chips in lard and chicken in chilli jam along with the nicest side order of fresh bread and dip I've ever eaten.Portion sizes were spot on and were duly devoured, as was the cheese board which came with more yummy bread. Plenty of drinks to choose from and the service was friendly, attentive and efficient - note to the two couples sat behind us who seemed to have a lack of patience at one point (waiting for english mustard for their steak, had to ask 3 times, shock horror !)....they justified their rudeness by saying they were from Yorkshire (a few times - yawn !)....well, they were even offered a discount off the bill for that very, VERY minor slip of the mind.....which further showed to me how good this place really is !Make no mistake - this place is a gem and i can't believe it's only no.5 on the rankings. It's quirky, cosy and very popular so you might need to book in advance, so do it - your future self will thank you for it !

My wife, daughter Izzie and her partner Simon visited this tapas-type restaurant on a windy Tuesday night and it was packed. The service, food, atmosphere and ambiance were all first-rate... but the value was amazing.The huge paella was delicious, as were the fresh crispy squid, pappardelle peppers and duck.What a great place: I have to say that I preferred it to Rick Stein’s Cafe in Padstow. Well done all staff and kitchen team: we had such a great night.Tiny note: we had to ask for certain beverages several times, and finally went to ask. But it didn’t affect our enjoyment.

Once again the Bank exceeded expectations, great food and felt safe with the covid precautions that we observed. Recommend booking as gets busy. Well worth every penny and would advise one of the new 'pods' as being a good option. Exceptional service.

First impressions count and the owner has his Covid-19 track and trace, hand sanitiser and masks conditions spot on. Felt safe dinning inside. Now for the amazing food with a perfect view of the river banks. Started with olives which were the best I’ve ever tasted. Ordered meat paella, pork belly, king prawns in chilli jam, beef stew which were all mouth watering delicious Finished off our lovely meal with Long Island Iced Tea and Mojito All the staff were very polite and helpful with clear explanations of portion sizes and number of dishes per person. Definitely be visiting again next time in Cornwall. Must remember to book well in advance as very popular. Thank you for a lovely meal

Ordered 6 tapas between 2 of us and was plenty. All what we ordered we thoroughly enjoyed. Also had olives to start and where very nice. Had a 1.5 litre of sangria (for some strange reason they don’t do a litre), was very disappointing was like drinking squash. Even at the end of the evening we didn’t feel as if we’d had any alcohol! Service was slow, we ordered bread and that didn’t come until we had finished 3 of our tapas dishes. Was reasonably priced, will be back to try the paella.

Came here for a late lunch. The tapas was lovely, the scampi and peas delicious, good selection of good. Only disappointment was that the bread and tapas all came at the same time, normally tapas is served as and when ready.

We visited on a reasonably busy Tuesday evening, having booked online, and had both a brilliant meal and lovely experience. The COVID-19 safety measures are reasonable, sensible and well-executed; the staff friendly, welcoming and efficient; and the food absolutely incredible. We were a mostly vegetarian group and the choice was fantastic - definitely give the aubergine and honey dish a go, it’s out of this world. The music was great fun, too - vaguely soundalike versions of Spanish-tinged pop songs, what’s not to love?

Fantastic food and drinks. We loved our visit to this restaurant the food was delicious and the great drinks. We had around 7 dishes between the 2 of us and were so pleasantly stuffed at the end. The only disappointment was no desserts but haven’t dropped a star for that as it’s due to restrictions in the kitchen due to COVID. Maybe there could be a cold dessert option as I really fancied something sweet at the end so had to make do with another mojito Friendly and efficient service. The views over the nature reserve are fantastic and the style of the decor is lovely. We will definitely come back to dine here when we return to Bude.

Good quality very tasty food , reasonably priced , good wine , good view from restaurant. Marvellous service from staff, complimentary peach schnapps at the end finished it off perfectly. Would definitely go again.

The Bank was listed as one of Bude's top places to eat - and it lives up to just that. I booked knowing that with CV19 we'd need a booking in advance whilst away on holiday to secure at least one meal out.Firstly - booking was super simple online, really easy process. I heard a few people arriving and complaining they couldn't book online - but really, it couldn't have been simpler?Secondly - we booked outdoor seating for two in a pod. Although the weather wasn't as we'd hope (typical seaside fog) - it pod was lovely and cosy and clean.Now the important part - the food. Do not even think about coming here and not trying the patas bravas because they were sooo good! I've eaten Tapas in Barcelona and this place we better - (plus being English, super good portions so don't be afraid to order more and take it home for left overs)!All the fish was super fresh - and cooked perfectly. We had mussels in a beautiful sauce, prawns in sweet chilli and the scallops were amazing.The only dish we weren't sold on was the beef meatballs! Everything else was delicious and when we got home with our leftovers - we just wish we'd ordered more!

We were going to book here for evening but as we wanted outdoor seating as fast as we were trying to book it was becoming unavailable as very popular so we went for 2.15pm. Glad we did as we had a very leisurely meal in fantastic outdoor seating area not a pod but actually better as more space and not time limited. Pods are only one and a half hours we stayed much longer. We had a fish paella and 6 tapas dishes with bread and olives, followed by cheese plate. They do not do deserts currently. The paella was slightly salty but everything else was outstanding. Favourite tapas dishes were fried aubergines with honey, chicken with chilli jam, crispy duck with spinach and garlic. Staff friendly and efficient toilets very clean and dog friendly even providing dog beds and water bowls for them outside. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment we arrived the staff were professional and helpful. The food was excellent and very tasty. Do not worry about being inside - there’s not a bad seat in the whole restaurant. I would head back to Bude just to eat there again!

This was the best restaurant we visited on our travels between Devon and Cornwall. I would recommend booking well in advance and go for a pod. They are so cosy and we loved it, made a birthday meal really special. We went for 6 tapas and were comfortably full. They were all good dishes, but our favourites were chorizo and Cornish cheese, caramelised pork belly and garlic prawns. The scallops were nice but only got 3 for £10 and the duck was nice too, but others were tastier. The paprika potatas bravas were delicious. The only downside was that they don't do dessert, it was so disappointing and we had to go into Bude to get an ice cream. They do offer a cheeseboard but after lots of cheese on our food, we wanted something sweet. The staff were great and the decor around the restaurant was really cool. I just wanted to take pics of everything! We really liked the fact that they bought out a glass of fizz for my partner (I said on the booking that it was his birthday) which was very thoughtful! Will definitely go back if we are in the area. Expensive but worth it!!

Booked a table for my sisters birthday, this place is amazing!!! You must book if visiting Bude!Covid social distancing at its very best, we had our own seperate space with very attentive friendly staff.Food was plenty with much choice, generous portion sizes.Beautiful setting on the edge of the canal.

First visit to the restaurant since covid hit, they had all safety precautions in place in a well organised manner and it was reassuring that it was being taken seriously but not impacting our visit at all! . The new addition of the private socially distanced pods was such a fantastic idea and really well thought through....we loved it! The food was amazing, generous portions sizes and all cooked fresh. The Banks fizz cocktail is definitely worth a try too The staff are a credit to the restaurant, so friendly and professional and they appear to enjoy their jobs which makes such a difference

This was such a good find,staff great ,food excellent,booked in August for our meal.Plenty on the menu to choose from.Tables all spaced out plenty of room ,hand sanitiser at entrance .

We visited while on holiday in the area and the meal was the best of the week. The outside terrace is made up of a row of pods (converted greenhouses) which offer a hybrid experience of being outside while also being sheltered from the elements. They feel very Covid-19 secure, as there is a physical barrier between each table. The terrace overlooks a river covered with reeds which makes a lovely calm vista. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however, the service was a little slow, although this was acknowledge and an apology was offered.The food itself was excellent, in particular the meatballs and the pork belly stood out, but all of the dishes were delicious. We will definitely be visiting there again if we go back to the area.

We was a group of six, had an outside table under cover. We had the Tapas menu, there was plenty of lovely food, the service was great. Very covid safe. Highly recommend you try this restaurant.

we came to the bank a few weeks ago for an evening meal. we have been to the bank a couple of times and had a takeaways also.Never had nothing but fabulous service and amazing food and drinks (especially the vodka martinis)The range of "cornish" tapas is delightful! our favorites is the chorizo and local chesse and the paella is to dye for!!one thing i would say is the portions are large (which is a good thing) but like us we had eyes way bigger than our bellys. The waitress that served us was very helpful (rachel i think) and gave us a few boxes to take the leftovers home! we sat inside but noticed they have added additional tables outside in the form of pods! Great idea! Will be returning again next time we are in Bude!!

Absolutely brilliant, totally different experience to the the last review.The staff were brilliant, couldn’t do enough, the outside seating was great we loved it, there was 3 of us and a dog. We had 2 bottles of wine, one beer and 1/2 litre of sangria with our food they couldn’t do enough.The food was good absolutely spot on. Best meal and value we had in Bude!

Embarrassingly poor. The “terrace” is a collection of small sheds. They’re barely big enough to seat 2 and we had four plus a dog crammed into one.The service was absolutely appalling. We ate the whole meal without a drink as the bottle of wine arrived after we’d finished eating. When we mentioned this the waitress said “well, you’ve got the pod all night, you can drink it after your meal”.The food was largely ok. Though the potatas bravas wasn’t remotely like anything you’d get in Spain and the meatballs were dreadful.Some service training for the staff would help as would a complete redesign of the restaurant including the immediate removal of the ridiculous sheds.

Visited here with my family and the meal was excellent. Every dish was full of flavour and there was something for all of us to enjoy. The paella in particular was amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive and there was a lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it and when we are next in Bude will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

We visited the Bank as part of our holiday to Cornwall. I booked in advance due to the fab reviews and we weren’t disappointed. It’s the kind of place I will dream about for years to come. The tapas was so delicious, the cocktails were so reasonably priced and delicious. The ambience is gorgeous and with the sun shining we could have been in Spain. We were given a brilliant table out of the way so that our two rescue greyhounds hasn’t plenty of space to snooze ( dog beds provided!). The staff were so friendly. We loved every second of our visit here.

Just a few minutes walk along the canal from Bude town is this fantastic, quiet hideaway. During Covid 19 the restaurant has gone to great lengths to make the dining experience as safe and enjoyable as possible with the addition of four new independent pods each sitting four persons.It was pointed out to us that the portions were more generous than those served in Spain and this was very true meaning that two dishes per person was more than adequate for us. Food freshly cooked and delicious and service very friendly. Would highly recommend a visit to the Bank to anyone who enjoys quality food and good service.

We have been here on a number of occasions but very disappointed this time round. Seems like they are more concerned with turning round tables to bring money in than looking after customers. We ordered drinks and food, but after food arrived we were not asked once in 45 minutes if we were OK or wanted more drinks etc. Food was bit cold and seemed as if it had been pre cooked and reheated. Did get one of our dishes free but didn't make up for the fact we had paid to stay overnight to go here for dinner and have a few drinks.... Didn't want to wait for more!!

We booked here for a meal during our holiday to Bude. It was without doubt the best restaurant and food we had all week. Even my very fussy children rated it 10/10 the tapas were delicious as were the drinks. Really nice ambience and very attentive staff and service. Wish we had somewhere like this close to home we would be there all the tine. We would definately come again when we are in Cornwall

This restaurant is off the beaten track close to a nature reserve located in a small sort of industrial complex. It’s is small with inside and outside tables. Some tables are in small private wooden booths which look amazing. We were warmly welcomed and the menu was explained especially regarding the oversized portion sizes. This was true. Our tapas dishes were more than sufficient for 2 to share. We had prawns, mussels, Spanish omelette and a chicken and a beef dish. All were amazing. The wine was good too and there was also a selection of cocktails on the drinks menu. We were not rushed - we had an early booking and we knew we had to vacate the table for a later booking but we had loads of time to enjoy our meal. I’d recommend this one if you are in the area.

Best tapas I’ve had in ages! Lovely setting and interior, food was incredible. Ordered 6 dishes for the two of us and just about finished it all. Highly recommend the duck and scallops they were delicious. Also the olives we ordered before our meal were the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely return.

A really lovely slightly hidden gem with excellent food, very friendly service and a really ingenious Covid safe environment with their ‘pods’ - daughter called it the best restaurant she has ever been to.

We enjoyed our dinner here on the first night of our holiday. We had an early reservation, 6:30pm, but this was perfect as we were able to enjoy the view across the nature reserve before sunset. The menu had lots of choice, and was full of locally sourced dishes. It was nice to have so much variety. The service was attentive, with a warm welcome. A lovely evening.

Our hosts highlighted this place to us and I am so glad they did! Was a little difficult to secure a booking as online bookings only, but it was well worth it, although I was disappointed that we couldn't get one of the outside pods. The staff were very attentive and Covid guidelines were followed in an unobtrusive manner. The service and the food was fabulous. I wish we lived nearer to visit again!

A very special place! We had one of the quirky cosy booths and the service was very personal and attentive. Our Daughter even got a complimentary glass of bubbly for her Birthday. The food was amazing - we ordered 8 dishes between 4 and there was easily enough. Best Olives we have tasted! Scallops particularly great/prawns in garlic/chorizo and Black pudding. Visit and find out for yourselves!

We booked one of the new outside pods and had a lovely time. Very well organised and a great location. Food was great and for 4 of us the final bill was very reasonable.

I’d heard the legends about this place and so it was with a heady mix of excitement and anticipation that I finally took my seat at The Bank.Could it live up to its reputation or was I in for a let down? I’m pleased to say it was the former, and then some!A carefully choreographed COVID entry procedure of sanitising and avoiding getting close to other diners saw us efficiently delivered to our table. The decor is striking. A delightful mix of modern and traditional furniture with some quite lively wall coverings makes for a very pleasant atmosphere.The menu is extensive with a range of Cornish style tapas dishes, steaks and lobster. Sadly the lobster was not available due to the appalling sea conditions having seen the fishing fleet confined to port. Whilst this was disappointing it was also a good sign that the only genuinely fresh produce will be used. If it isn’t fresh, it won’t go on the menu for the day.For tapas, the waiter suggested we order 2 or 3 dishes each and share. This proved to be a good call, the portions are slightly larger than the average Spanish tapas experience and the quantity of food was more than sufficient.So many great dishes it’s hard to choose a favourite but the prawns in a chilli ginger jam were a real highlight and the chorizo with cheese is a dish I will try at home very soon.It’s not the cheapest place you will ever eat but we all deserve a treat every now and then and this place most surely delivers on all fronts.£215.00 for 6 diners with wine and beer, plus we got £60 off that due to the Rishi discount so I really am not complaining.I can not recommend The Bank too highly, it’s fabulous and I urge to to give it a try if you’re in the area. Booking is essential!I will most certainly be returning on my next trip to Bude.

First time at the Bank at Bude and it was a superb lunch. My daughter (14) rated it one of her best meals out ever. Delicious food with plenty of choice. Good service who checked on us frequently. We were on a good sized table out the back overlooking the marshes. Really nice feel to the place and would like to experience dinner there at dusk, night etc. Sadly we can’t get back in before the end of our holiday as they’re fully booked. Will give ourselves more notice next time. Thanks to everyone there for making it a great memory.

Awesome! Absolutely awesome! Service was fantastic. We had a table for 6 indoors (plus the dog who had a bed next to the table). We had 15 dishes between us and were full up only sending back sauce remnants in the bowls! All the staff were friendly and helpful and ensured everything was okay on more than one occasion. We had something from every section of the menu apart from the paella. Would 100% recommend. Literally a little bit of Spain in Cornwall in our view! There are no dessert options, only coffee, but you won’t need one anyway! If you do, you clearly didn’t choose enough dishes!

A lovely quirky restaurant serving wonderful food and cocktails 🍸. We were a group of 8 and they managed to serve us well whilst maintaining social distancing. We’ve eaten out loads this week and this was one of our favourites by far!! Highly recommended.

Booked a table for my birthday, the table was outside but under cover, however weather was due to be awful so Justin rang to let us know. We changed to a takeaway to be on the safe side. As it was we could have kept the table but hey ho.Justin and his team handled our order fantastically and the food was amazing will definitely be back but next time we'll make it to the venue to eat...

1st time and really enjoyed it. Staff very welcoming, couldn’t do enough to help and the food was fantastic! A very quirky restaurant with lovely views across a nature reserve. Would definitely recommend.

The Bank at Bude (Tapas & Grill) is a lovely quirky restaurant on the river bank. The food was amazing, especially the slow cooked beef, steak and calamari. However sadly we were disappointed on two counts, the first was that after the main course the waiter forgot about us and secondly due to the lack of deserts on offer. My advice is to enjoy the mains and then go for an ice cream up the High Street after.

Wow, we have just had a delicious lunch here. Great staff, very dog friendly too. They even have big cushion dog beds, our fussy pup loved it! The food was perfectly cooked & so tasty. Can't wait to visit again, thank you The Bank Bude.

8 of us booked to eat early evening during our holiday. The food was delicious and the staff and service we received were excellent. If we’re in Bude again we will definitely be going back

Amazing food and brilliant staff, felt comfortable during the pandemic and once agin the food is amazing!!!!

We visited the Bank for a family reunion once my sister came home from her studies. Portion size MASSIVE for tapas (air on the side of caution !!) and great value. The pork belly is to die for, as are the whitebait. All of the food was delicious to be honest, can’t find fault. The owner, Justin, greeted us as we arrived and is obviously very passionate about the business and the customer experience. Jugs of sangria guaranteed to please, and they have recently added little summerhouses to the venue so you can dine in privacy with views of the marshlands and wildlife trail. The staff are super friendly and will do anything to help, the COVID precautions are well followed.

Slightly disappointed- drove 1hour 40 mins to get to the restaurant. Pre ordered a lobster when made the original booking, but upon ordering the lobster , it had not been written down, so we to go with out. I ordered a Pina colanda , but you could tell it was a ready made one which turned out to be extremely sweet, only managed 1/4 of the drink. So we drove over a 3 hour round trip for a disappointing meal.

Some reviews say this restaurant has bad service and the food was store bought. I can gladly say this is not the case. We had a lovely lunch time meal with our 2 dogs (who had a dog bed each at our table). The food was amazing, definitely some love went into it making our dishes. We were greeted very promptly and the restaurant itself would not look out of place right next to a tropical beach with a good cocktail in hand. I would strongly advise to book and check they've got it with the amount of people booking during Covid.

We had high expectations on arrival given the positive reviews and recommendation by the host at the B&B we was staying at but unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. The prawns were plain and overcooked, and the “bravas sauce” was just paprika and mayonnaise and seemed to be the served with every tapas dish we ordered. Host was lovely and charismatic but the food was mediocre. Quality of food is reflected in price.

Great food but the tables are really crammed in which made the experience less than comfy. With more space between tables it would be a lot better. Not sure we will go back.

Booked before arriving in Bude for my wife's birthday as a party of 8. UnusuL setting as slightly out of town, but with a beautiful view of the riverbank. Very well organised for social distancing. All staff wire masks and everything was scrupulously clean. Tapas portions slightly larger than usual. Great choice of dishes. Lovely spanish olives and fresh warm bread. Service was excellent. We ordered 18 dishes plus bread and olives for 8 of us (Inc. 2 x young children) which was more than enough. Would highly recommend.

Visited today as a family of 6. Staff were so friendly. Very very covid secure. The food is amazing, we had 15 dishes to share amongst us as we wanted the grandson to try as many fish dishes. Every bowl was wonderful. Cant recommend this place any higher.

My wife and I booked on of the outdoor booths for an early dinner. Service was efficient and friendly. We ordered several tapas dishes and the lobster paella. Food was excellent and we washed it down with a good bottle of wine.

Firstly the setting and the decor were lovely, and there were effective and well organised coronavirus measures maintained throughout. The food was very good, good sized tapas portions and everything was very tasty and well cooked. The only small thing was that the olives were not the nicest. But everything else was excellent (especially with 50% off food) :-)

Large portions and very tasty food. Beautiful views across to the river. Good service, with pleasant staff. Off the beaten track and well worth a visit.

Came here first Saturday in august having read other reviews and we were not disappointed. My partner and I ordered 6 tapas to share, the food was fantastic all dishes were hot and portion sizes were great so much we were unable to finish it all which is a shame as it tasted so good. A young team of servers but all friendly and attentive will definitely return a real find!.
