Got chips really not nice tasted like they'd been lying all day and re heated would not recomend to anyone would definitely give this place a miss

Ordered via Just Eat. Arrived 45 minutes late. Shop did offer to refund when I told them it was stone cold, but too late for my children. Chips were soggy. Two slices of batter, but barely any fish in there - takes real skill to slice fish so thinly, so effectively just an empty batter pocket, and very greasy. After 1hour and 35 mins, was prepared to eat just about anything, yet couldn’t eat this. I’ve honestly never had a worst fish and chips in my life, and will never order anything from there again.

Les pedimos esta noche 1 ensalada con ensalada de col y queso, 1 solo pescado y 1 hamburguesa de pollo con papas fritas, al abrir la entrega encontramos que uno de los recipientes de poliestireno tenía (2) pescado, no 1 según lo solicitado y solo (9) papas escondidas debajo ! . Estamos muy decepcionados e infelices con esto. Y la comida era de mala calidad, fría, gomosa, no malgastes tu dinero con este lugar.

Más de media hora tarde y tus chips están empapados. Pizza sólida como una roca. Nos mintió 3 VECES. Nos dijo que el conductor de la entrega llegó a la puerta y no nos escucharon. Luego, el conductor de la entrega llamó por teléfono y dijo que no podían encontrar la dirección. ENTONCES el restaurante llamó por teléfono y dijo que volvieron a llamar y que no respondimos, 10 minutos después la comida llegó a la puerta y no era buena. Chips todo resbaladizo y empapado. Pizza dura por fuera y ni siquiera tan agradable.??????????! ! ! ¡NO PEDIR! ! ! ??????????

Mi esposo compró un kebab para él y pescado y papas fritas para mí. Esto fue el viernes por la tarde la semana pasada. Por lo general, se puede esperar un pescado decente en un viernes, ya que tradicionalmente se trataba de una pesca reciente. Esta fue, con toda honestidad, la peor excusa para el pescado que he probado en mi vida. La textura estaba mal, era una papilla, casi una pasta, cubierta con una mezcla que era como una mezcla para panqueques. Incluso habían puesto dos en la caja, lo que podrías pensar que era un bono, pero solo hizo que fuera más pesado llevarlo a la papelera. Estaba lloviendo o lo habría devuelto. Las patatas fritas no eran mejores, tenían un sabor dulce como si hubieran compartido el aceite con la bondad, ¡saben qué! Me aseguraré de que nunca vuelva a utilizar este chippy.

Nuevo propietario (aunque echo de menos a Mo y charlando con él), que ha mantenido los estándares anteriores. Buena comida, grandes porciones y un personal amable. Tuvimos la cena de pescado, la cena de costilla del rey y la cena de pollo mientras estábamos de visita. No me decepcionó! Nuestro ir al lugar para una cena rápida en Gorgie!

The Ballgreen Fryer is well knows. Plenty of fish in their fish Suppers. One of the best Chippies in teh West.

Mi ir al lugar para una comida rápida cuando estoy en Edimburgo. Muy cerca de Tynecastle, Murrayfield y justo a la salida de Gorgie Rd. Raciones muy generosas y siempre buenas, frescas y calientes. A un precio muy razonable. Hay tantas cosas que me gustan aquí que es difícil recomendar una cosa: me encanta cualquier cosa con el donnar, el pollo y la costilla. Lo mejor es el amable personal y el dueño! Siempre es un placer visitar! !

Pedí pescado y patatas fritas para 5 personas y tuve que esperar un corto tiempo para recién freír el pescado. Cada porción contenía 2 filetes de pescado y la pasta era agradable y crujiente. Patatas fritas no tan crujientes pero tenía un gran sabor. Todo a un precio razonable y muy caliente.

No pierda su tiempo pidiendo desde el Balgreen freidora. Mi hermano bajó a responder a la puerta y pagar por la entrega y el conductor de la entrega fue muy grosero con él y miraron como él iba a matarlo. La hamburguesa que había pedido estaba completamente pasada y la carne muy negro, así que acabé por no comer. El bateador de pollo es tan gruesa que tiene la textura de goma y básicamente no hay pollo dentro de no mencionar las patatas fritas repugnante. Las patatas fritas eran tan grasienta que no estoy bromeando, había goteo de salida de grasa la caja de mi ordenador portátil. También las patatas fritas sabor nauseabundo, como si hubiéramos ido. Absolutamente horrible comida, una pérdida de dinero!

Awful. won’t be ordering from here again. Spoke to someone on the chat at 19.40 who said the order would be with me in 2 minutes. At 19.50 called the chip shop myself to hear this guy shouting in the background “I DONT KNOW ABOUT ANY “insert address here”. Was told the food wasn’t in the shop so it must be on the way. Another 20 minutes I called again (the shop is 5 minutes drive away if that) told again the food isn’t in the shop so it’s on it’s way. I asked the girl to call the driver and I would wait on the phone. I said I was getting pretty annoyed and she said she understood and it would be there soon and put the phone down! Felt like she didn’t want to deal with me. Shocking

Didn't need to wait a long time. Food was hot and cooked well. Would Deffo use again.

Decent food; warm, chips weren't too hard, batter was a bit tough in parts. Pizza was spot on. They added 5 mins to the delivery time, but it was delivered on time (with their added 5 mins). Delivery driver was awesome! Good job. Left before I could sort him out a tip though. If I'm ever in Edinburgh again I'll defo reorder!!

The food was okay but not worth the wait. Phoned up twice to query where my food was and the woman who answered the phone would perhaps be more suited to working through the back with her attitude. Don't think I'd go here again not unless a few things changed.

My food was 30 minutes late despite them only being 1 mile away from where I live. I had got a message saying it was on route ten minutes before it was supposed to arrive suggesting it was sitting in a delivery car for 40 minutes. The food was soggy, cold and the sauce was lumpy when it arrived. Not very happy with it and when I phoned asking why it was late, there was no apology given.

Got the wrong order. I asked for a chicken pakora kebab and some chips. I received x4 pieces of chicken pakora with chips (not a kebab?) And an extra portion of chips I then didn't need. Food quality was not close to as good as any times I've ordered from there in the past.

Food very Nice and hot, delivery time extremely long, due yo being at work I was unable to pick it up or would have been a lot quicker.

Stopped off for a fish supper on the way home from Edinburgh. Very poor quality fish and chips (and no mushy peas). Those in charge did not treat the staff well in front of customers. Both fish and chips poor.

Usually food from this place is good,but the last time I have ordered calzone, it felt like i was eating pure onions.... Huge chunks, could not feel anything else apart from these onions....

Not good. Ordered Sprite, was given 7up. Ordered jumbo haggis supper, was given white pudding supper.Ordered a large portion of chips, they were all mashed up in a ball. Will never order from here again.

I rarely leave reviews but this place has the best burgers I've had from a takeaway in Edinburgh, pizzas are also great, and perfect to heat up again the day after if need be!

Pizza was abit burnt chips well under cooked and seem to always be under cooked, gave me sprite instead of lilt without phoning me to tell me.

Opened up the box to immediately see a hair stuck into the chips. Completely off putting and of course could not eat the rest of my food. Ruined both me and my partners dinner. The chips were also undercooked.

Very poor quality food. The fish batter was dry and chewy with dry fish underneath. Chips were also very dry and tasted old. Ate some due to hunger then threw in the bin, did not feel well the rest of the night and next day. Unfortunately won't order again, total waste of money.

ordered a balgreen special burger. 2 horrible burgers smothered in tasteless cheese without the sauce I requested. basically a half pounder but a pound more because it's called a "balgreen special" even my bin spat it out. served with greasy Luke warm chips. battered mushrooms, smothered in that much brown sauce it formed one giant horrible brown greasy mess. stinking. won't be back.

my food was not great at all. It tasted as though the fryer had not been cleaned properly as well as a freezer burn taste to my chips. After waiting an hour or so for delivery I expected my food to be fresh and tasty however it definitely was not that. This is the first time I have ordered from here and will be my last. Certainly not impressed at all as I have just had to throw it in the bin as it tasted so awful. Wasted my money too.

all but one of my kids meals went in the bin cause the nuggets were not nice the kids sed and ask for brown sauce on my steak pie and I came dry wats the point in asking me what you want on it if it still cones dry not good like not ordering fro here again 😞

It was our first time ordering from here and I must say that I was a bust scared as I saw a few bad reviews but we decided to go ahead anyway. The food came earlier that we were expecting so that was a bonus. The calzone was superb, meat quite tender and juicy and good taste. I'll definetly order again

I've had pizza from here before and they were really good. However i ordered hamburger supper today. The chips were really not good, very greasy and undercooked, potato still hard, and burger wasnt the best either.

The food is always great here, we order all the time! It comes so quickly and the delivery man is super lovely :)

My burger was not fresh and putting real chews on it didn't hide the fact that it was an old burger not cooked on the grill! onion rings were hard and not fresh, overall the food was disgusting and don't recommend ANYONE order from here will not be using this service again!!

Soggy again! Delivery speed was exceptional but I am willing to drop that for quality! ! Speed isn't EVERYTHING! The delivery guy is also so good! I am willing to wait longer for a crisp and crunchy meal than rushed!

No puedo alabar este preparado normalmente lo suficiente, pero sentir recientemente de cocinar ha ido estándar cuesta abajo. Hoy Sun 28 @ 6. 45 x 2 cenas pescado dieron que estaba asqueroso. Sentimos que nos dejaron tendido demasiado largo y eran muy grasientos. Las patatas fritas eran una mezcla de antiguo más patatas fritas chips hecho hecho y bajo. Ha habido un cambio de propiedad? Normalmente la comida es genial. No volvería.

Usually the food quality has been very good in the past. However, the last two orders appeared to be under-cooked and very greasy. The fish and the chips were not crispy as usual but were quite soggy. I would be happier to wait a little longer for delivery if it meant that the food was cooked properly.

The Balgreen Fryer is usually the chippy I go to but after last night I think I will change. Food wasn't great. I ordered two mixed kebabs. There was 4 bits of chicken in each and the rest donner which was hard and dry. I also ordered chips and cheese but asked for curry sauce with it also. You were lucky if there was 3 spoonfuls of sauce and I didn't notice until I got home that I was charged £2.50 extra for it when on the menu you can get a tub for £2. I am disappointed as I have always thought the quality of their food was good. Don't think I'll be going back in a hurry.

Worst takeaway in a very long time. Food was very greasy and basically luke warm to cold. Chips are awful for a chip shop and the worst chicken kebabs we've ever had. Won't order again.
