The Bakery Shop Kitchen in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Don’t expect traditional fish and chips. Poor quality fish and frozen supermarket style chips. Very disappointing and expensive for this level of quality.

I was here during the gig competition. I had heard that the hospitality on the isle of Scilly is amazing, but not today. The staff was abrupt and rude. Fish and chips is my go-to order because it's hard to mess up. England does it really well, but not here. It was cooked fresh, so I had to wait, but the fish texture just wasn't right. Parts tasted not cooked enough. Other parts was stringy and weird. What killed it was the curt service though. I won't be back to this establishment or St. Marys.

What a handy place, and wonderful to see such drive to make their business work for them. Chippy come pizza place come ice cream palour come trinket shop. The fish and chips were good, but the pizzas were top notch. Loaded with toppings, really generous size, good price. Even their gluten free pizza base was good. And what a view to eat to, sitting outside on the green looking at the harbour.

Best pizza EVER. St Marys has crab and lobster in it and is soooo IOS. Fish and chips equally as great.

There was nothing majorly wrong with the food here but the fish and particularly the chips seemed rather dry. My mushy peas were just wrong and were more like poorly cooked processed peas. Maybe they were having a bad day.

This shop had finished lunches when we arrived at 3pm. We wanted to sample fish and chips. Our Ferry was due to leave at 4 pm. These wonderful boys switched the fryers back on for us. We had , I would say the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted! 10/10 and service beyond. Thank you xx

We had the Annet pizza and sweet potatoes fries. Both were extremely delicious and great value. Very generous portions and well worth the money.

Amazing. The generosity and kindness showed to our team of Chelsea Pensioners by Michelle was worth the trip to isles of Scilly alone. Who doesn't love Fish and chips at the seaside and this is one of the best. Great hospitality, expertly prepared food and a hard to beat view just on the doorstep. Many thanks - highly recommended

Had very good fish and chips here but even better was the half lobster with chips or salad. The lobster is ordered in advance - we ordered in afternoon for 6pm. Best to eat on the green opposite - napkins and utensils are provided and the lobster is sufficiently prepared and cracked so that other tools are not required.

Freshly cooked to order. Only had to wait five minutes. With the option of eating by the beach this was the perfect takeaway. Lovely

Probably the Best Fish and chips in the whole of The Isles of Scilly. Tried the rest at twice the price, in some cases. Cooked to order well presented. Their establishment is clean and fresh, plenty of seating on the green. (mind the Gulls) Drinks include a selection to please most people. I throughly recommend this excellent place.

Ordered fish and chips for collection later. Very friendly staff. Meal was ready and piping hot and delicious.

We visited this place several times and on each occasion felt that we were inconveniencing staff. We went to buy a crepe at 11am - the shop was empty. I asked if we could buy one, the young girl asked the young boy - he came out, looked at the clock and said, no, we don’t sell crepes until 11am. We went back at tea time - too late and then on a Monday when they were not doing crepes. On another occasion I went to buy two coffees at 5pm. This shop sells fish and chips in the evening. I was greeted by three staff, one sat on the counter. I asked for two coffees and the lady said - not sure if the machine is working. She then asked if I wanted instant - I said no, the owner then said - we will make you coffee but using this coffee machine during fish and chip time is a real pain in the ass - not really the response that I would expect. The shop was totally empty - what happened to customer service? We didn’t go back after this.

The young staff in here are soooo lovely and helpful. The older women are a bit rude. Definitely been over charged a few times too. My bf got squid and honestly the portion was tiny and it looked sad in comparison to the stuff we serve where I work. The chips are very disappointing and hard. However, the fudge and Turkish delight they sell is absolutely fab! Definitely go get some of that!!! Asap :)

Very good fish, chips and mushy peas. Promptly served. The portions which were pretty generous and the whole meal was piping hot.

Plenty of tables inside, some out on the pavement. Lively atmosphere, good for a morning coffee or snack lunch. Lots of tasty pastries, sandwiches etc availability

In one visit they overcharged me and my mum (ordered separately). Coincidence, or trying it on? I went in and ordered one ice cream and two cans of drink I was charged £9.80. I went back in to query the price and it was incorrect. Luckily they refunded me, unlike my mother. When my mum ordered, they seemed confused about her order when she was placing it. Rather than clarify before charging her, they put the put the wrong order through the till and charged her for three times the amount of sausage than she actually ordered. When she went back in to check the price they refused to refund her. Absolutely disgusting considering it was their mistake. I have worked in hospitality my whole life and have never worked anywhere that refuses to refund customer for in-house mistakes.

we had sausage rolls and cornish pasties, very nice . later we has ice creams.nice small shop. its a pity no fish and chips were being done until after 5 00pm.dozens of people wanted fish and chips.so it must have been a loss of money....

Have enjoyed several visits to this little bakery where the staff work very hard. Can recommend fish and chips, sausage rolls, fudge, Turkish delight and they make the best mocha around!

The tall young man with gingery hair I enquired about which fish was available he spoke to me like I was a senile demented old man your receipt number 16633 of 26/8/2021. This person needs to be re-educated in the customer services required when dealing...

The produce is fabulous - tasty, fresh and reasonable. amazing bread, rolls, passes and cakes. The adjoining butcher also has fabulously fresh meat. Highly recommend.
