The Bakery Cafe' in Stratford-on-Avon

The whole place was very atmospheric, with images of the media adorning the walls. The staff were most welcoming and hospitable; serving a hearty breakfast, that was well cooked and very good value for money. The full breakfast contained items many establishments charge extra for. Well done!

I was a bit disappointed with my recent visit to the Blue Bean, normally go there for b’fast, arrived around 11.45 and was invited to take a seat and they would come and take my order, didn’t happen, three staff working but after 25 minutes I left, could have just been a mental health day for them.

The best croissants and coffee in South Warwickshire. The other items on the menu are pretty good too. Really friendly staff make it a joy to empty one’s wallet here

We stopped in at the Blue Bean on our drive back to Oxfordshire, after visiting a friend in Manchester. Walking in, we were struck by the colouful and bright, light decor, lovely atmosphere and the woman behind the counter was really welcoming. Good choice of sandwiches (we went for egg mayo, and avocado with bacon). The granary bread was extremely fresh, generous amount of filling & coffee was excellent, too. Highly recommend this place.

Nipped in for a breakfast coffee and pastry. Friendly staff, dog friendly in the lower part which was small but there were a couple of benches outside which would also have been fine for us, it was a sunny morning. Lovely large skinny latte in a sumptuous pottery mug and Pain au Chocolate that was melt in the mouth. Plenty of cakes and bakes in offer, cold and hot drinks also hot food. Would definitely visit again.

My wife & I stopped for coffee & cake on arrival in Shipston-on-Stour. The coffee really hit the spot and it was served in fabulous, handmade mugs, which we later stumbled upon (and bought!) in MadMolly’s on the next street. The flapjack too was delicious. Our two dogs were very content at Blue Bean, looked after wonderfully well with treats, water and plenty of fuss from the team.

Friendly and polite service - great coffee - really well cooked breakfast and at a sensible price. Proper local café/coffee shop where the owners seem to know many of the regulars. These are the sorts of places that should get food awards - places that serve honest food and drink and do it really well.

Popped in on return leg of a Cotswolds bike ride, was recommended this place by a couple of ‘locals’. Awesome home made coffee cake & coffee done properly!! Excellent - you won’t be disappointed!!

We have been living in and around Shipston for over 2 years now and discovered this great cafe early on. There is a friendly, homely atmosphere, the staff are very pleasant and the food is really good. Highly recommended.

This was a lovely little find whilst waiting for an appointment… Flat Whites were very yummy, had to have two just to make sure 😉 But I absolutely adored the vibe, the ladies who were serving were fab. Really friendly & warm! They offered a little taster of a new ‘Mexican Bean Slice’ which was delicious & I will be going back for. All in all, I thought this was a fab place with great coffee & some banter too boot!

So lovely to be able to visit our favourite cafe again.. Popped in for cake and a cuppa this morning and it was as wonderful as always - lovely tea & cappuccino, and simply the best chocolate cake and lardy cake..

We went to find a bit of take-away solace in a time of misery and found happiness within a panini. Ok, so we couldn’t eat-in because of COVID restrictions and I have to say it cost what it would to eat in a cafe but if we want these places to survive then we suck it up and get on with it. Returned the next day and equally as good. Go here. You won’t be disappointed.

stopped in for some breakfast. The lady who served us was lovely. we really appreciated that they allowed us to have breakfast despite being 15 minutes past 12. Had a Full English and a Veggie breakfast and two coffees - both thoroughly enjoyed. will be back! thank you very much :)

Un personal maravilloso y amable, conversador y dispuesto a que nos relajemos y disfrutemos de un café y un pastel. El servicio fue excepcional. Los Rock Buns recién horneados fueron una delicia. Los perros son bienvenidos e incluso tienen galletas para perros para que los amigos de 4 patas no se sientan excluidos.Experiencia brillante y muy recomendable.

Hemos estado aquí algunas veces, pero no desde hace unos meses, así que fue genial ver cuán maravillosamente están lidiando los Blue Bean con los tiempos 'inestables' actuales. .El lugar está impecable como siempre y el personal es amable y acogedor. .Y la comida es tan buena como siempre con pasteles increíbles (¡deja espacio para uno!)

Como un pequeño grupo de ciclistas, llamamos aquí por primera vez ya que nuestros otros lugares en la ciudad estaban cerrados debido al bloqueo parcial de Covid. Qué suerte tenemos de haber descubierto esta joya, más vale tarde que nunca. La encantadora propietaria salió a tomar nuestros pedidos de café, pastel y panecillos de salchicha. Es una calle muy tranquila, así que comimos y bebimos afuera observando las reglas de los 2 metros. Todos disfrutaron de lo que tenían y volveremos a llamar, con suerte para sentarnos dentro de lo que parece un café muy cómodo y bien surtido. En nuestra experiencia, solo los establecimientos administrados por sus propietarios ofrecen este tipo de servicio genuino y amigable, por lo que merecen nuestra lealtad.

My parents run this and I think that they do a great job.Despite having me to look after they manage to run the best food place ever!Freindly service and awesome food and drink.I just love it! Personally my favourite things are the cakes and beautiful sandwiches.So if you ever go to Shipston on Stour,you know where to go!

Had a breakfast yesterday and staff were friendly. Service and food good. Had a lovely bacon bap with great coffee which was decaf but tasty. Nice to have a lovely local cafe. Well worth a visit.

Ate breakfast here prior to the rugby world cup semi-final and perhaps that explained why it was so quiet. Had the large breakfast which is excellent quality and extremely reasonably priced. Very much look forward to coming back for more tasty food!

Haven't been here in a little while even though we live fairly close as we've just been too busy, but it was fab to find the food as amazing as ever..The brekkie was wonderful and we'd have loved to have one of the gorgeous homemade cakes, but with son's wedding only 5 weeks away we resisted (but as soon as the wedding's done we'll definitely be back for a cake)!!Lovely welcome, excellent service, and fab food.. What more can you ask for!

Un precioso lugar para pasar un bocado para comer. Mi esposa y yo comimos sopa picante de chirivía con un rollo y un café que era muy bueno. Gran selección de tartas y pasteles. Señoras que trabajan allí agradable y amable. Salió con un rollo de salchicha para el camino que era muy agradable. Muy recomendable.

Went in to buy some jumbo porridge and saw the tempting cakes-At last we found friendly service at a Shipston tearoom/cafe. Returned to enjoy the cakes which were homemade and delicious with choices of teas and coffees. While there spotted some scrumptious breakfast dishes to plan for as they open at 7.30am. Very welcoming and helpful, can order speciality bread.

Dropped in yesterday whilst out on a motorbike ride in unseasonably warm sunshine (Feb) .Had a decent coffee, a comfy chair and polite and efficient service.

Come here all the time now on lunch breaks from work with a friend, as we only work next door we love it here and their bbq cheese and onion toasties are amazing! We always have hot choclates with all the works and they are amazing also. Customer service is always delightful, we usually get served by the lovely day with red hair or Tracy who both make our days each time we come in, can’t wait to keep coming back!

Aparecí aquí con mi madre cuando visité Shipston por primera vez en años. Tiene un ambiente acogedor y había mucho que leer en la mesa, cubierto con viejos recortes de noticias y como mi madre tiene casi 90 años, ¡ella recordaba la mayoría de las cosas!

Conocí a un par de compañeros para el desayuno y me sorprendió que no hubiera opciones vegetarianas. El propietario se acercó y declaró categóricamente que no vale la pena atender a los vegetarianos, ¡ya que todo el mundo come carne por estas partes! 'a pesar de que me contradiga que los vegetarianos y veganos están aumentando enormemente en número. Entonces, el hecho de que se anuncien a sí mismos como amigos vegetarianos es contrario a lo que realmente creen y hacen. Así que opté por el Full English sin el tocino, las salchichas, el pudín negro, etc., que no dejaron mucho en el plato, aunque sí ofrecieron algunos tomates.

Este lugar es parte de la tela del pequeño centro de la ciudad. Es utilizado por muchos lugareños y también excursionistas y viajeros que pasan. El café ahora está redecorado y se ve muy original. No es su atuendo de cadena blanda 'run-of-the-mill', pero está decorado y amueblado con amor y cuidado. El café es genial, también para llevar. Varios pasteles, frescos y acogedores, y el menú es lo suficientemente grande para cualquier persona. Los propietarios son muy amables y serviciales, solo hágales saber cómo quiere su comida o bebida. Las porciones son muy grandes, aparte del café, que es de tamaño normal.

No hemos estado en el área antes, pero paramos aquí para tomar un café y un sándwich. El café descafeinado era fuerte, lo que hace un buen cambio para el descafeinado y los rellenos de sándwich son normales en lugar de lujosos y ricos como muchos sándwiches parecen ser estos días. Era buena comida sencilla.

What a delightful place. It is dog friendly, the quality of teas and variety are excellent, the food was lovely and it is all really good value. The staff were all delightful so a super highly recommended place to visit from me.

while travelling north we stopped in Shipston in search of a cuppa. We happened on the Bakery and received a warm welcome. As usual, Mrs Moose was partial to a scone, so I decided to keep her company. The coffee was good, but the scones were delicious - it was definitely a good choice.

We stumbled across this deli and cafe on the way back from Hidcote.Great te and coffee and wonderful cakes and sandwiches. Very helpful staff. Well worth a visit. The food is excellent.

If cakes and biscuits are your thing then you have to stop here, what a lovely selection of freshly homemade products, very reasonable in price, and very tasty. The staff are so friendly, a great place.

Have frequently used this little cafe when riding through the Cotswolds - Food fabulous and uses quality ingredients. Good selection of dishes and cakes. Very friendly and courteous staff. Realistic prices too. By far the best cafe in Shipston-on-Stour and worth a special visit.

Visiting the town on a Saturday and this was the first cafe we came across. The seating area is small and it was busy so we were lucky to get a seat. I always think busy is a good sign.

Visited in July for a business meet - lovely atmosphere in this picturesque market town. The service was first rate and very relaxed and food was locally sourced, well prepared and very tasty. Lots of local customers which is always a good sign. Dog friendly.

Needed an early breakfast whilst in Shipston on a business trip. Found this little gem and glad I did. Had a top quality breakfast with excellent sausages, properly prepared scrambled eggs ( no milk and no hint of a microwave) beautiful field mushrooms etc. Toast was from the bakery bread and was very nice. Friendly helpful staff and very reasonable prices. I had 6 items for £5. Top notch. Good tea and Coffee as well.

The bakery is a quirky little cafe that I would without a doubt recommend to anyone. As a weekly costumer I have grown very found of the place and have been hooked by their panini and breakfasts. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed and the waitresses are relaxed and welcoming. The owner radiates pride in her bakery, so she should too. And her hard work in this business should be massively credited. I would recommend this bakery and cafe to anyone if they're intending a nice and relaxed meal for a reasonable price too.

Called in our way to Cheltenham and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of food and the service. It is a welcoming place and ideal for a stopover with nice cakes .

Popped in the Bakery Café, for a quick coffee and toasted tea cake, whilst out on a ride on my motor bike with my wife. We have been here before and know they serve nice Lavazza Coffee. It was delicious and so was the Tea cake. The waitress gave me a choice of either jam or marmalade on my teacake. I had neither anyway. I have been in before and seen lovely breakfasts, so I reckon this is a nice place to go and will be back.

Friendly helpful service. Have tried a number of their products for lunch and tea and never disappointed. Good sized portions, value for money, much nicer than picking something up from the supermarket - especially recommend the Coffee Cake.

We were visiting a relative in hospital in Shipston. The hospital has no cafe/refreshments, so the helpful woman on Reception directed us to the Bakery Cafe. We were very glad she did.The decor was quirky and comfortable, Most of the space is given over to the bakery, with a few tables at the side. The menu is not huge, but we found plenty to suit our tastes. The waiting team were friendly, and we enjoyed our toasted sandwiches with a very good salad. We couldn't resist buying some of the delicious cakes to take home - really tasty, huge, and only £1.50 a slice.I would happily return

Generally I always go to the loo, wash hands before eating and make a decision re staying and eating or going--,not this time, what a mistake. Went here with friend and had a very nice lunch; pasty and chips and steak slice and chips. Very pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff. On a visit to the one loo (clients &staff I think) there was a filthy mop and bucket (water looked like a greasy swamp). The room seemed to be a general store and whenever the mop was used it didn't seem an appropriate place to store such a dirty piece of equipment.On exit I discretely asked the owners husband re its use and visual appearance. Neither he or his wife who joined us appeared to see a problem with a mop being stored in the toilet ( no lid on seat) and then bring used to clean kitchen/eating area. Both stated inspectors had never raised the issue.My concerns were that neither of them seem to see storage of items in a toilet used by members of the public and staff.

This is mainly a bakery with a few tables in the back. The baked goods here are wonderful. The breakfast was really good. They serve full English breakfasts but let you choose the items you want....very nice.

Visited Shipston today and found this place. Nice coffee and homemade cakes. We were served by friendly staff and the cafe was clean and modern. Will be back again!

We are always in here for take away and eat in. I've never been treated so poorly. Disgusting dirty glasses.Obviously over priced rubbish. My friend had a small breakfast and they really took that seriously, sausages were tiny and I had a panini bread was frozen and ketchup had bits in it when given, asked manger to change she never came back. Such a disgusting display of management. Dirty grotty place.

Stopped here today for lunch and a quick visit to the town. lovely café and bakery with excellent service... menu looked great and we both chose Panini's. I had the bacon, brie and cranberry whilst my husband had the chorizo, cheese and sweet chilli. they arrived and filled the plates, we could have easily shared one if accompanied by salad..... never been before but will most definitely be back. :)

How nice to find a cooked breakfast which clearly has quality ingredients. Meat from the local butchers, and they clearly use good quality sausage and bacon, which I find is few and far between when eating breakfast.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed and the environment cosy. I could have sat there for hours (and in fact I did!).The fact you can make your own breakfast using 10 ingredients is a real bonus for me. I think we all have our preferences and it's a nice touch - very satisfying!

I regularly eat breakfast here. They charge by the number of items so you can choose what you want. The quality of the bacon and sausages is really good and the bread used for toast is delicious. It's served speedily and is good value in my view. I can't fault it and would recommend it to anyone wanting tasty uncomplicated food at a decent price.

Always trickey to operate a small business trying successfully(in my opinion) to cater for all,whether it's a "full English' to a proper homemade scone with proper homemade jam,but this honest hardworking place seem to full it off,quality bread,yummy cakes all with a smile,love it,if I'm ever in the area I can't keep away!,hope that you're making money after paying the commercial rates,7 ! charity shops around you!,commercial rates,apparently not.Sorry for the rant!

Everything in the café and bakery is really good quality. The bread is some of the best I have had, the breakfasts have good quality sausages and bacon etc, the pasties and sausage rolls are proper traditional style and the cakes are just lovely. Also they stock some interesting bits and pieces of dry ingredients. Definitely worth a visit.

Stopped here for a quick snack with my husband - coffee and croissants. Had a lovely cup of coffee and the croissants were served hot with butter and jam if you wanted it. Great service, £6 for 2 coffees and 2 croissants, which were light and flaky, just like the best we've had in France.

My fare at my hotel was found wanting so I popped in here on the off chance. The breakfast was superb. Fast, friendly and plentiful. So good that I returned the next day as well. Only half a dozen tables so get there early.

I often take the kids here for lunch during the school holidays. Typical 'cafe' food but always fresh and tasty. I often buy sandwiches here for my lunch when I'm working and they are very good and fresh. Also great for birthday cakes, especially the cupcakes.

We visited this little cafe on Saturday with our 3 children - we asked if they would do plain sandwiches for them & they said yes - however they never even mentioned a children's menu where sandwiches came with crisp's etc - the panini's were served without any garnish - cooked breakfast was excellent but bill was over £26 & we felt throughly ripped off - not a nice feeling. I work in a cafe & could easily cost what we had & for that reason I know we were.

Cafe is situated within the small Bakery. We had breakfast there but it had a varied quality menu suitable forall times of day. The service was excellent - Well worth a visit!
