Wow I can't even start the bakers arms is one of the best pubs in swindon and I am not lying fish and chips and all food is on top and kath and John are both absolute jems and Is the best landlords I know and always it generous and her staff are some next level people especially Tracey ,Michelle , Rose, sharon,Lorraine, maddison but I love all of them truly I can not suggest enough about coming to the bakers when you have the time and such amazing prices and value it all is so please go their if you get the chance 💞

Went for a wake. We provided our own food but drinks and atmosphere were good

Came for a night out to support a local band, brought along about 15 people all drinking and the landlady was very rude and kept moaning the band was too loud!! The bar staff ignore you when waiting to be served as they keep on spotting the locals who aren’t even at the close to the bar and serving them first. Seems a busy local pub that is happy to just serve locals.

Great local pub. Known for it's friendly staff and Sunday lunches. Pool table, darts, sport on TV. Hosts poker and cribbage nights. Awesome! And the barstaff make the whole experience that much better!

Was fortunate to win a sunday roast meal for 4 people, which they had kindly donated to a charity event. I went with mum and sisters and can honestly say the atmosphere was great and the meal was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back again.

Sue and Phil Went for drinks and Sunday lunch on 18th February 2024.. Superb roast beef dinner, and the Spotted Dick pudding was excellent. Plenty of custard too. Landlady and staff very accommodating. Makes you feel so welcome. Five star all round👍

Busy night with live music. Most of the time the bar staff couldn't cope and had to wait too long to get served. Also the 'locals' jumped the queue on almost everytime I was waiting to be served. This is down to the bar staff and although the local drinkers are important to keep the pub open ... it just seemed unprofessional for the bar staff to turn their back on any customer, whilst they served their mates. Apart from that pub was clean , staff were pleasant and prices were OK.

Sunday lunch here again. have to keep coming back because it's so good . 100% home cooked and it's just the best . I booked in the day before arrived @ the pub and was shown to our table, as my dinners had been pre ordered it was not long before we got our dinner . And was scrumptious.

Literally the best home cooked traditional breakfast ever! The food was amazing and the staff are great. Highly recommended.

Service was spot on food great and serving size was more than enough. Highly recommend the lamb shank. Definitely going to return.

Popped in today for the Friday special of fish and chips. The pub had a super atmosphere and offered a warm and hearty glow by the real coal fire. The dining room, is comfortable and the food plentiful. Many today were enjoying the Christmas special menu. Really lovely, hot, freshly cooked traditional fayre. A super team, lead by Cathy and John, you're guaranteed great service, a friendly welcome and super home cooked food. A real traditional country pub, right here in Upper Stratton. Conveniently located near to all main commuter routes and serviced by a reliable local bus service. We often pop in for the lunch time specials or lovely traditional Sunday lunches! The pub has a vibrant buzz with live music, many sports teams too. If you haven't already, you'll soon find you're be part of the furniture!

What a pub for a roasty, came in unannounced asking for a roast since I’ve been missing my mums, got me straight in and sat down with my drink in hand. Lovely chap next to me made me feel comfortable since I was on my own. After 5 mins food was straight infront on me nice and hot, the pork has to be one of the best I’ve had, potato’s were crispy and Gravy was plentiful, carrots where nice and soft and Yorkshire was quality. I’ll definitely be back in for one in the near future!!!!

The atmosphere in here yesterday was AMAZING Really enjoyed it in here, they had a live band on too and they where so fun to watch - I just enjoyed the whole thing! That was my first impression too Thank you so much to the staff and the live band!! Brilliant

Went for Sunday lunch with the wife & also took the dog. We were greeted by the lovely staff and shown to our table. We had pre ordered two Lamb shanks with all the trimmings. These were soon bought to our table and all I can say is WOW they looked stunning. The food was amazing and the lamb just fell off the bone it was so well cooked. The wife and I ate (and enjoyed) every morsel on our plates. Luckily we had both saved soon room for a cheeky dessert each. The wife opted for apple crumble and ice cream whereas I chose spotted dick and custard, these did not disappoint they were both lovely and soon polished off. The food we ate today was so well cooked and tasty, the staff (and regulars) were very friendly and welcoming and even made sure the dog got a fresh bowl of water. We both agreed that this was a perfect Sunday lunch outing, a real treat, thank you Bakers arms, we will definitely be back very soon.

Lunch at The Bakers yesterday. The wife and me. It was a spur of the moment decision as we were passing. One of my better ideas. Bangers,mash,veg and onion gravy for two followed by Strawberry waffle and a banana sundae,washed down With a decent mug of tea and a coke AND change from a twenty. The staff were on the ball friendly and nothing was too much trouble. One of the best pub lunches we have had for a good while, the food was fresh and cooked well, we will be making it a regular stop to work our Way through the menu lol.10/10 all round.

First time coming here and have been local for a while. What a warm reception and lovely meal and dessert. Would highly recommend and the dinners were lovely and ample. All staff extremely friendly.

Today me and my wife went for a Sunday roast...food was delicious and nice and hot...will definitely be returning and a nice freindly atmosphere .

It was my unfortunate experience to visit the Bakers Arms on dec 8th for an xmas lunch. I have never had such a bad meal in my life . Meal booked for 1pm and all pre ordered served at 1.45 ,no sauce on prawn cocktail ,all roast vegetables so hard could not cut let alone eat, yorkshires black, brussels so over cooked they were white instead of green, UGH. Then asked us to pay for a pudding which we had prepaid for ,this was the straw that broke our back we left after complaining to staff expressing our disgust. What a waste of money this was DO NOT GO HERE . Does not even merit this one star. Beware

Had Sunday Lunch with Mum on Sunday 3rd April at short notice. Both had large beef option and very enjoyable. They had a live band on Thursday 7th April when I was there with My Uncle. £9.45 for Sunday dinner large option

Played in a crib tournament here, it was well organised but unfortunately my team didn't win, had a good time.

Had yet another outstanding roast dinner at the Bakers Arms, they just seem to be getting better if that’s at all possible, wonderful friendly staff, value for money, nice pub environment. Compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff 10/10 .

Eggs were raw and gooey whites and several hairs on plate, the owner cathy refused to do anything about it when I nicely asked for them to br cooked more and was rather rude to me and my wife.

AVOID AT ALL COST!! Went there with friends from different races, heard the landlord and landlady John and cath being extremely racist but mumbling it to each other thinking we could t hear and also going into the kitchen thinking we couldn't hear. Dogs go...

We had a Christmas dinner yesterday it was absolutely delicious and only £20 for two courses and it was a massive plateful and well worth the price. Compliments to Lorraine the chef and all the staff.

Just got back from our first visit to the bakers arms. We had a lovely Sunday roast and dessert, plus drinks. It is a very nice friendly pub, we would definitely go again. The management and staff were very friendly even though they were busy. It's advisable to book a table.

Had a lovely lunch here, we chose Fish & chips on a Friday of course but wide range of other options Beautiful fish in very light batter, best we’ve had for very long time .....👏 washed down by a pint of Hurricane and a cider....

We have had Sunday takeaway lunches for one year now, a truly amazing traditional roast dinner. Before lockdown the Bakers Arms was a brilliant pub, look forward to when it can open once again.

being unable to go out the fact that Bakers Arms deliver the meal to me is brilliant, the meals are excellent very tasty would highly recommend them

With the new lockdown here, you guys still do the best takeaway ever and you have never stopped! The fish and chips are delicious, so is the lasagna and can’t forget about the Sunday roast! The size of the stuffing balls is more than one mouth full! The homemade sticky toffee is out of this world! I would 100% recommended!!
