The Bakehouse in New Forest

THE best doughnuts ever! A fantastic array of sweet and savoury baked goods that people travel to from all over the Forest and beyond. Friendly and welcoming staff make the trip even more pleasant. A MUST try if you're in the area, or just nearby!

Fabulous as always. Best granary barrell loaf ever! Mother in law loved the mince pies so much (we bought her one box) we had to buy her 3 more boxes the following week. She says next year, she ONLY wants mince pies from The Bakehouse, nowhere else! High praise indeed 😊

Clearly a popular place! Service was great. We had donuts, a pie and sausage roll. The donuts were pillowy soft and delicious. Pie and sausage roll weren't as good

I bought a massive cinnamon whirl, which was exceptionally tasty. Moist, fresh and just the right ratio of cinnamon to sugar.

Great little bakers. Really excellent prices and good choices for lunch options and a sweet treat. Handy for lunch on the go. Highly recommend.

Easily best donuts and cronuts had in a long time. Not short on filling like they usual are.

A great little place to pick up lunch and then go and sit in the forest. We call here each time we have a holiday for a meal deal and it’s definitely worth a visit! £4.30 for a large fresh filled sub roll, cake and a drink. Would definitely recommend

Best custard doughnut ever and the pastry on the apple turnover was to die for. Cannot wait to go back and try some of the other cakes.

A lovely place to pop in after a long walk - we came in twice to have milkshake and sandwiches and then coffee and cake. - both times the coffee was piping hot and the cakes obviously very freshly made. Friendly service too

Visited today 8/4/23. Granary bread, hot cross buns and jam donuts were delicious. The sausage rolls however, even though they appear homemade leave a lot to be desired. Sausage was lacking in volume, bland and overshadowed by the amount of pastry.

Didn't get a chance to taste anything. I asked for a bacon baguette and was very abruptly told "No! No bacon left now" So we left.

It's great, not your typical Brockenhust tourist trap, amazing cakes, just don't tell anyone...

Been coming here for years. Moved from Christchurch to Gloucester and stop in on the way when visiting. Amazing cakes, sausage rolls. Never fails to impress. Giant fresh cream Éclairs for around £2.40 big enough to share.

This is a beautiful bakery in Brockenhurst village. All the items are made on site. We had sausage rolls, cheese and bacon turnover, hot cross buns and a donut. The food was delicious and well priced.

Such a good selection of baked goods, visited a few times when in the area and the "Bakehouse"never disappoints. Get there early though as its very popular

Popped here for a take away lunch. Food was excellent especially the hit and cold rolls and the doughnuts. Highly recommended.

Great food, always pop in when we are that way. Love they use the meat from the butcher's across the road in their pies/pasties.

Fantastic shop for all your needs from sandwiches to lovely cakes

The staff were so lovely. Despite the heat, being very busy and dealing with some very difficult elderly customers. The cakes themselves were brilliant I particularly recommend the sprinkles doughnut because my goodness it was everything a doughnut should be ! The dough was sensational, it was fried to the right amount and it had lashing of icing. It was huge and really well priced for what you are paying for. It is such a cute little shop and everything is displayed so nicely. I didn’t like the big cream puff as much but that is down to personal taste rather than construction.

We popped in here on several occasions - the pastries are excellent when just baked but not so good when they werent!

Recently stayed in Brockenhurst, and bought lunch from here each day, which were always nice rolls, but we treated ourselves to cherry doughnuts a couple of times too, and they are AMAZING. So much jam and bits of cherry in them. Yum! Service was always friendly, and the frequent queues outside show how popular this place is.

Bought cakes after walking around the area. They were delicious, especially the iced buns. We bought extra to take back to Cornwall but they really needed to be eaten the same day. We would make a bee-line to the bakery again if we are ever in the area.

One of the best scones and Belgium Bun I have ever had. It’s the place to go in Brockenhurst ….!!!

Popped into the previously great Bakehouse whilst on a short break last month, asked for 2 ham, cheese and pickle baguettes expecting the usual £1 extra charge on the meal deal only to be told (quite rudely) that as it's so much extra work to add a spoonful of pickle to 2 baguettes we'd have to pay for each item resulting in a total cost for 2 meal deals with extra pickle and 4 x cold sausage rolls costing us over £14, that was bad enough but when we ate the baguettes we found them to be a bit soggy and the pastries doughy and under cooked...... Shame as my wife has now vowed to never go in there again!

Grabbed a Cornish pasty whilst having a walk through the village, must say it was absolutely brilliant! Filling was delicious, pastry was soft and overall a delight- selection of cakes and other pastries was poor as they were closing but I can see why it’s popular!

The cakes are just so yummy. Bread is excellent.

She was rude, unfriendly and failed to say thank you. I understand that this is a very busy bakery but if she doesn't enjoy working in that environment then maybe its time for a career change. There are many people who live locally that would love a job in The Bakehouse. Stand aside and let someone with some customer service skills have your job.

Very friendly, best hot chocolate with real big choccy pieces and lovely snacks. Not a lot of seating for a large group but you must visit for the quaint pleasant atmosphere. The guy behind the counter has great customer skills. A real treat.

I can not describe how gorgeous my cheese and onion pasty and fresh cream chocolate eclair was. Absolutely delicious! Seriously! They were both enormous which is great for my appetite, and very reasonably priced. As close to perfect as a pasty and cake could be. I popped in last week while driving through Brockenhurst, I will be going out of my way to come back soon.

We went to the Bakehouse last week. The baguettes are amazing! As for the cakes, WOW! You really need to try the doughnuts.

The best Bakery ever. We come to visit the New forest and stay a couple of times a year. First visit is to The Bakehouse. We recommend this place to everyone.

For everything a Bakery should be, this is by far the best we’ve ever found. Be it Cakes, Bread, filled Sandwiches or their famous Donuts, this is simply excellent. Expect a queue as this Bakery is always popular for good reason. A small shop with a GIANT heart and service with a smile.

Just seriously that was the best Donut I have ever tasted in my life! it is not trying to be smart with a million different stuff, just the very simple Chocolate donut made to absolute perfection.

Lovely Cakes and Pastries... they sell out more or less as soon as they are put out, good quality produce. Would highly recommend. But get there early cos by 12.30 they had sold out of nearly everything.

We had a cornish pasty, a Belgian bun and a bacon & cheese slice. All were excellent and did not survive enough to be photographed. Would definitely go back.

Best selection of cakes that we found on our travels, bought one for every member of our group. Everyone enjoyed them, reasonable prices and friendly, pleasant staff.

Cannot wear a mask for medical reasons and was shouted and screamed at by a male member of staff who I can only assume was the owner because of this. Even planned on getting £25 of food. Absolutely disgusting. Will never visit again.

Love this bakery. Had the pork bun many years ago and it’s still as good as it was then delicious 😋 served with crackling and apple sauce. Great sweet treats also!

Delicious!!... Went and got the wife a bacon and cheese hot baguette...god it was soo good I want another one! But had to settle for the one. You have to be quick as when we got there, there was a big queue outside! But moved quite quickly, lots of options available pies, sandwiches drinks etc etc can get carried away! 🤣...all great prices too!! Disabled friendly, parking down the road! And plenty of places to go eat by the forest etc!... 5*

Not much to do in Brockenhurst bar passing through, stock up on groceries / food (and also see the Ford) but this bakery is worth the visit- tasty baked breakfast goods, sausage rolls & doughnuts amongst range of other food.

Delicious choice of pasty's, pies and much more. Food is so fresh & hot. Staff are so lovely and efficient. We can't pass through Brockenhurst without calling in for a snack.

Always a welcome stop when getting off at Brockenhurst station. 10mins walk away and fast service mean it's a convineient stop over, especially with trains stopping every 20mins. Food is always good, with big portions at surprisingly good prices! Staff are warm and welcoming and their hog roast goes quick as it's quite popular, from about 0930-1030! Get it while it lasts! :-)

It surprises me that in 2021 disability discrimination is still a thing, however the young lady serving today wasn't shy when it came to displaying some of the most archaic and ignorant behaviour I've witnessed in a long time.To cut a long story short I suffer with a severe respiratory disease which I recently underwent surgery for, this makes what should be a simple task like breathing not so easy and hence I am legally exempt from wearing a mask. To tell someone you have a disability is one thing, but to then be humiliated and treated like a liar is an absolute disgrace and you should be ashamed as a business. (Not all disabilities are visible)Perhaps the staff, or the rude woman today specifically would benefit from some enhanced learning on communication and customer service, not to mention the equality act 2010..I'm not one for writing reviews but some things just have to be said.

The Cornish Pasties and New Forest Swirl’s were so good the first time, we had to go back again (and again).....tasty and very good value for money.

One word. Superb . Tried several different cakes on a couple of visits all absolutely spot on. I recommend the chocolate eclair, but also tried the custard slice, belgium bun and strawberry and cream filled Belgium bun. All brilliant. I can see why this is an award winning bakery. Thoroughly deserved well done. We will be back especially as the New Forest is our favourite place

It's good for its price and for the area. Wouldn't say it's a must visit but I don't think you'll regret it either.

We bought a roll and pasty, which weregreat and a custard slice, which was the best ever and at 95p a cup for tea and coffeeen you can't go wrong. Sat by the ford and it was all lovely.
