Accommodation was awesome and we had a hot tub, which we loved. The room and bathroom are lovely. We only stayed one night. I wonder if you might want more facilities other than kettle and coffee machine if you stay longer but it was fine for us. We had a 3 course meal in the restaurant. Amazing food. I have not had a meal that has been so good, ever.

This place is a gem. When we arrived, we had the most heartwarming welcome from Mark. He told us about our lodge and how everything worked. Mark made our stay; he was so helpful and up for a chat. Nothing was a bother to him. The accommodation was perfect. The lodge was lovely, and the hot tub was amazing. It was a great way to end the evening, with a fire pit that was always ready to go every day due to housekeeping. The one thing I would say, and just one bad thing, was that the coffee and tea were not replenished meaning we couldn't use the coffee machine after the first morning. If you do go, you must say hi to Wayne and his three alpacas. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and went the extra mile for us. Finally, the food—oh my goodness, the food was yummy! It was 100% fitting for the area, and at the pub, again, Mark was there to make sure the service went smoothly, which, again, it did. I would like to thank Mark, Wayne, and the lovely lady who served us breakfast on our first morning. Already booked for June 2025!

Visited this evening, mid week, for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. This is our first time at the Baiting House and from start to finish we’ve enjoyed every moment and mouthful. The food was just perfect, the cheese soufflé was to die for and the beef main equally as lovely! Great service, wonderful setting and good value. Whilst it might be our first visit it certainly won’t be our last.

A lovely warm welcome from the bubbly gentleman - not sure if he was the owner? Our room was clean and comfortable. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was nice to see locals at the bar enjoying a pint and chat after a days work. The food in the evening was very good. So well cooked and seasoned. The only thing I would say, is that more than one vegetarian option would have been nice for my partner. If he hadn’t of liked risotto, he would have been in trouble 🤣. Breakfast was a small and simple offering. Cooked very well and presented nicely on hot plates. All in all a “very pleasant stay”. Would definitely recommend 😊

I was absolutely blown away at this place! Booked to stay in a deluxe lodge with hot tub for my husband’s birthday which I would definitely recommend! We stayed in Ryeland lodge, it was simply perfect, private, beautiful surroundings, interior was exceptional and the hot tub was amazing. We ate in the restaurant at 7pm, exceptional service, food came very promptly and my husband and I were absolutely blown away with the food, it was the best 3 course meal I have ever tasted in my life! Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much The Baiting House for making my husband’s birthday such an unforgettable and joyous experience staying at your wonderful lodges.

Little surprised to see us at 12:00 on Sunday, but recovered OK. Been coming here for 2 - 3 years now, limited menu, without specials of the day, but generally fine - well presented food and good flavour. Today, the cheese soufle starter appeared to have changed, with a stronger and larger volume of sauce, so left some (by the way beware of prices, £9 on web site and £13 in restaurant for the soufle). Senior waitress said she would enquire and let us know if any changes - did not get back to us, but manager confirmed no change of chef recently. Lamb was good (not a fan of sous vide cooking of the beef), but gels (mint and black garlic) very vinagary). Overall a bit disappointing, will look elsewhere next time.

Visited on a weekday and the restaurant lacked atmosphere which may be due in part to the layout. Food was nothing special and some of the sauces didn’t really add to the overall meal ( black garlic was too salty) Positives were the starters and the staff who were very attentive and friendly. Overall the food did not reflect the cost - too expensive for a country pub.

Stayed here for a night away with my partner. We stayed in a lodge with a hot tub. The lodge was very nice, clean and they are set in a beautiful place. Disappointing that the views cannot be enjoyed from the hot tub as they are hidden away behind hedges. The lodges could be made cosier with blankets and rugs but other than that they are decorated nicely and the bed was comfy. No bath or iron. Check in is quite late. Would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant if you stay. The food was gorgeous and reasonably priced. The waiter took our drinks order before we had even sat down which was a bit rushed - we hadn’t even had chance to look at the drinks menu. A full english was also included with the lodge which again was lovely but doesn’t come with beans (which for me personally is not a full english!) but no other complaints. Overall food is great and lodges are lovely but could be cosier and it would be nice to enjoy the view from the hot tub.

Nice little lodge, in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Clean and well kept premises Well equipped and furnished Complementary toiletries and towels Hotel quality bedding Hot tub clean and maintained warm temperature well. Complementary wifi Restaurant food (Dinner and breakfast) was outstanding- delicious and fairly priced (Country pub meets fine dining). Pleasant, well mannered and accommodating staff - who tolerated our boisterous, wine fuelled laughter with good grace! The only areas for improvement (and would take this to a 5* accommodation for us): - improved wifi (some difficulty connecting) - more comfortable sofa bed - more pillows for beds (only 1 each) - option for purchasing small grocery pack on arrival (milk, water, biscuits) as no shops nearby.

It’s so difficult to be positive about this place despite being locals and having high hopes. Disappointing food, small portions and ambivalent staff. We came for lunch on a bright and sunny Saturday having been told “you must book as we’re really busy”. Admittedly Shelley Hill climb was on at the same time, but the entire time we were there (12.30-2) there was only one other table in. The sandwiches we had were fine - but the meat in them wasn’t great quality (gristly and fatty) which meant my wife left most of hers - you can’t really fault the chips though (although these seemed a bit underdone and fluffy under the crunchy exterior). Service was lacklustre and the female staff seemed to be more intent on their phones than anything else (although to be fair it was quiet). As our local we really want this place to succeed, but it clearly needs to come down a notch or two from its current pretensions.....

We regularly used this restaurant before lockdown as the quality of the food was extremely high. However we were extremely disappointed with a our meal on a recent visit when we were booked in for dinner. I don't have a problem with limited choice menus but this particular dinner menu only contained 3 choices for mains which comprised a meat dish, fish (basically battered cod and chips) or vegetarian. We both went for the lamb shoulder which when it arrived resembled a childs portion. The food was tasty enough but apart from the lamb there was only a small potato rosti and a few dabs of gravy and sauce which was hardly inspiring. It looked drab and was served on a drab grey coloured dish. Unlike on previous visits the restaurant no longer offers bread as a side dish which again was disappointing. We found the service brusque apart from a young gentleman who did show some interest.Thankfully the local HPA ales were still on form so all was not lost. This used to be our first choice restaurant but we won't be returning anytime soon which is such a shame.

We all stayed in the pub itself which has rooms and a few outhouses converted into rooms. It also has lodges on-site, but I didn’t see these so can’t comment.I wouldn’t discourage anyone from staying here, but I wouldn’t accept Homer room. The room shares a wall with the kitchen. I have no idea what machine they put on EARLY, but it bangs very loudly against/through the wall. You can also hear everything the staff are saying as if they’re in the room with you. Other than that the rooms are very comfortable and clean and parking is easy. Breakfast was very good too.

Nice cabin and hot tub in a great location.Cabins are well spaced and although only have the basics i.e. main room inc kitchen, bathroom and bedroom a great base to explore this wonderful area.and a great hot tub. This is a remote location and great that cabins are well spaced - we love to strip off and sit naked in the hot tub with a few bottles of bubbly at night and watch the stars - being remote means dark skys so a great location for this, plus the hot tubs were at a great temp..Car does have to be left in the main car park area - no issue, but the access to the cabin path is not quite wide enough for a car, so I advise just parking on the main 'road' path to the cabin to unload / load so the grass doesn't get churned up.We didn't eat or drink in the pub so I can't comment but it look nice and well attended. They also only charge to clean the cabin when you leave if you have a dog rather than the silly daily charge - Well done then, very sensible.A great place and we would stay again and have no issues recommending others to stay here especially if they have a dog and like star watching (naked in the tub or not - but why wear clothes, if its just you).

An enjoyable Saturday evening out but there are things that could be improved. Our food was very good, the beef was beautiful, although a limited menu. There was a distinct lack of vegetables and no option to order extra side dishes. This was a second visit and unfortunately on both occasions the service was very slow and staff lacked enthusiasm. The room was cold and lacked atmosphere but this could have been due to the lack of customers. We found that the Admiral Rodney at Martley (which we believe is owned by the same people) is far better. We probably won’t drive out of our way to return.

Having booked the Lodges at Baiting house for our anniversary, we were very much looking forward to our stay. On arrival we were a little early so thought we would have a drink in the bar in the main pub and check in at the same time. Check in was easy and the staff were helpful enough. We were informed of the lodge we were staying in and off we went.

We enjoyed our stay at the Baiting House. Are in one evening and the food was good. Disappointed that there was no one available to make a mojito as there was a cocktail menu. Spotless room. Bed a bit firm! Nice new shower but v difficult to stand under because the head wouldn't angle outwards.

I'd read previous reviews which suggested that this restaurant was a little over-priced for the quality of the food, but we were curious to give it a try. Having now eaten there I can unreservedly disagree. The food was absolutely delicious and really nicely presented. The portion size were spot on, and the service was great. We each had an aperitif, a main course with a glass of wine each, and we shared a dessert. The bill came to less than £70 and we consider that to have been excellent value for money.

Stayed here with my family in August. Wow! What a stay and what a meal! Phenomenal food, phenomenal service, it was the best!! The wine list was completely epic and the breakfast was un-be-flipping-believable! Very generous portions and and sublime tastes. I dream of my return....

We were looking forward to a lunch here, but it was let down a little by some tough roast beef (stringy) and some unusually lax service (a long wait for pudding and the same empty soft drinks bottles left on the table from when we sat down to when we left 2 hours later).

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here a week ago. Everything was cooked well and portion sizes were generous. Delicious Yorkshire puds! Good value for money.

Great place to relax, gorgeous food and an array of drinks, on two levels with an open fire for the winter months, also overnight accommodation, of which we did not try as we live local, but looks great.

My wife and I was driving back home on Tuesday 11th and noticed The Baiting House which looked very nice from the outside and decided to pop in to see if possible for a snack. On entering the property (well refurbished with good decor) at 5.50 we enquired if food is available to which John said that the kitchen will be open in ten minutes so we ordered starters from the menu (Onion and Cheddar Soup, Wild Garlic Pesto £7.00...my wife said excellent as are the artisan bread....for myself Smoked Salmon,Dill,Beetroot,Horseradish,Caviar £8.00...excellent ..lovely flavours). To accompany we had a gin and tonic and half pint lager £8.65.

Plenty of free parking onsite. On entering there was a good atmosphere with a good amount of cumstomers. The restaurant has a contemporary design whilst retaining a 'country' feel. The staff were really very good, engaging and knowledgable about the menu. The menu was not one of those that goes on and on, but had enough choice for all tastes. Our choices were beautifully presented, piping hot and very tasty. The desserts were simply gorgeous. Overall an excellent meal, good value for money and I would thoroughly recommend Baiting House.

Booked The Baiting House last minute as we had a funeral to attend in Worcester . We arrived late after a long trip from Cornwall to a warm welcome . Cannot recommend this hotel enough, spotlessly clean and well equipped room , lovely bar with a massive selection of gins for me and a variety of ales to keep the hubby happy , amazing breakfast with locally sourced foods and a happy smiley waitress. All the staff are so helpful cannot recommend this place enough! We will definitely be back under happier circumstances to stay and explore the beautiful countryside !

We stayed at the Baiting House 3rd to the 4th May. What an amazing stay, room was exceptionally comfortable and really beautifully finished, bar was great had lovely cocktails before our meal- which was the best food we have had in ages! Charles’ food was absolutely faultless and we can not wait to come back in the summer. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We booked here for dinner as we were staying locally in a self catering cottage and there aren't a lot of eating places that have the capacity to allow dogs in.

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣

Beautiful scenic spot, absolutely stunning. Dog friendly. Food was amazing and atmosphere good too. Boat was running as water was too high but didn’t matter to us!
