Friendly bar staff good beer at. a very fair price . Lovely landlady , attractive smell of meals being served although we didnt eat at that time.chap s on the next table said the food was great and ample quantity.

Thank you for a lovely breakfast! And thank ypu so much for specially making some desserts for the 4 kids with us. They had had breakfast at home and we wanted to keep them quiet while we ate. And even though it was before desserts were available you did it anyway! Thank you so much ☺️

Excellent service and good food.

I visited for breakfast today, attracted by the ostensibly good value deal: less than £5 for tea or coffee and an English breakfast. However, my experience was disappointing. The food was cold, and the service providers seemed confused about their own procedures. I wasn't given a receipt, and there was no verbal identification. If your food doesn’t arrive, you shouldn’t have to go searching for it, only to find it cold. This might have been an isolated incident, but it's regrettable that measures seem to be absent to prevent such confusion. The staff might be familiar with their procedures, but it's crucial to communicate these clearly to first-time visitors. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Would I return? Yes, if only to see if improvements are made. Everyone deserves a second chance, but if the same issues occur again, I wouldn't return. I hope my next visit will be better.

This is a propper British city centre pub. The food is decent the staff are pretty good & the atmosphere is great & it's not too heavy on the pocket either. Good place to meet, eat & have a few drinks with friends all its missing is music on the weekends.

Good food and great variety of ales, lagers and ciders at a reasonable price. All in all a fantastic freindly pub

Food is okay. There are good choices for breakfast. Fast service and staff of polite and friendly. Lots of early morning drinkers, so it can get a little lively at times.

Waited ages for drinks that we order via the app. The guy who bought our drinks over mentioned they were understaffed. Definitely could feel the tension between the bar staff!

Great staff, always willing to help, kitchen service is fast as are the floor staff when cleaning tables etc, food has always been spot on, and bar service is helpful and fairly quick, as I'm new to the area I have always been treated fairly and respectively one of the best spoons I've been in.

The staff and locals are sound. they just need to update the place always looks a bit scruffy. Very busy last night service was great good atmosphere.

Bearing I mind there were children in there the language from a few loud talkers was fairly choice.

Usual wetherspoon pub with quick and friendly service.

Typical weatherspoons inside, but much more of a pub for drinking than dining. Doesn't have the same historical feel as most weatherspoons pubs, and tends to have more people there for a pint than a meal during the day. Never been there for a drink in the evening. However staff are friendly and it's nice and open.

Friendly and helpful staff with excellent value for money. Great variety of food clubs on specific days and sound portion sizes.

Disgraceful food and service. Burns night so ordered Caledonian burgers only one beef Pattie (advertised two) dry and thin, forgot whiskey sauce, bland, haggis scraped remnants appeared to be reheated.no taste, poor portions, (although Scottish menu, so to be expected). Felt nauseous afterwards. We’ve had good food in other venues but this establishment has let themselves down & let Wetherspoons down.

Been there many times with family. Foods are great and price is very reasonable. staff are nice and helpful. Love the self ordering system too.

Everything was as you'd expect. Though the app said hotchocolate was unavailable but when we went up for the tea and coffee, hot chocolate was there? The disabled toilet was stinking, though. It was almost like someone used every where but the toilet to pee in, but the only evidence was a very strong unpleasant aroma.

Tipycal wetherspoons pub, good selection of drinks and beers 🍺🍷🍻,downside is people smoking in the entrance to the building.

Poor service. Cold steak and mash was dry and cold. Not enough paper tissues or extra cutlery arround.

I had a nice time at the Babington Arms. I had chicken wings and a couple of pints of Old Empire. It was all excellent value for money. My food was delivered promptly and I got my drinks with no fuss. It was a nice pub to sit in and have a couple of drinks. There was a good mix of people around and it was reasonably busy for a Sunday afternoon. I felt a bit sorry for one of the staff as she was told off for not wearing a Christmas jumper, but then none of the other staff were either. I thought she was a nice girl and that she was being undermined in her job by the way that she was spoken to in front of a customer. Another staff member asked a customer to take his feet off “her” furniture. This was also quite rude, although I wouldn’t put my feet on a seat, I would imagine that this was quite inadvertent and these kinds of demands from some of the staff created a slightly intimidating environment. I wasn’t personally spoken to rudely and I enjoyed my visit overall. It might be useful to bear in mind that the pubs try to operate as cheaply as possible and you probably won’t be made to feel as welcome as you might in other pubs or restaurants.

Fast food and cheap beer. They have the Cheap Rate Plates on the menu so less than a fiver for a brunch and drink.

Good Wetherspoon pub in Derby, the real ale is excellent, I’m on Marsdens Pedigree at the moment. Staff nice, some of the locals a bit unusual but adds to the character of the place. I’ve eaten hear before and food was good. Toilets upstairs as usual for this pub chain. Would recommend 🍺🍺👍

Just enjoyed a superb traditional breakfast at this establishment. Wonderful! Followed by a pint of Hobgoblin ale. Again what can I say! Exceptional and at an affordable price. £2.55. Little wonder it was busy.

A very nice pub in Derby city centre, spacious and quite popular with locals and visitors.

Full of scary inbred local types on a Wednesday mid afternoon. Staff overworked and tables very dirty. Lots of noise from the locals who I assume drink there all day every day. It's a weatherspoon so don't expect anything too much but still surprised at how depressing it was

Tried to order two meals. Choices not available. Tried two more meals and one of them wasn't available. Lost customer. ☹

Popped in here early morning for a breakfast and pint. Place was quiet. Plenty of seating available. Ordered my breakfast via the Weatherspoons App. Didn't take long for my regular vegetarian breakfast and pint of Ruddles to arrive.

Had to clean our own table . Every table we picked was sticky and filthy in the end we gave up picked a table and ask for a cloth to clean it ourselves . The food is usually good. Unfortunately this time the large breakfast wasn't hot it was luke warm . A disappointing visit this time. Update... thought we'd try again ... Table looked clean until you moved something and it was like pulling a plaster off your arm , sides are thick with dust... Breakfast was average . Cold eggs, cold toast , cold beans . Bacon Black and like cardboard, Sausages and has browns were nice. Standards really are slipping here

Waitress was fit, food was okay raspberry kombucha lemonade was wank… overall 6.5 out of 10

Normally excellent. However, not for the first time, my food has been served with missing elements. I don't mind this when they run out of things - it happens - but what is really annoying is when the server just delivers it without the advertised sauce or accompaniment and says nothing and just expects it to be OK. It's not! Paying customers deserve to be served with what they order and at least an acknowledgment if certain ingredients are not available. Some server's need to learn etiquette and basic customer service.

Typical spoons ,food lovely and very quick, very friendly staff better than the other spoons. Toilets very clean.

Best weatherspoon breakfast I've ever had!

The ambience at the pub was welcoming, the beautiful, well-lit environment decorated with historic frames gave a feel gave nostalgic feeling. Need I say the service was top notch; the staff were professional and all smiles in whilst doing their job. In addition, the meal was scintillating and tast-bud satisfying.

It's a Wetherspoon's ,you know what you are getting.

The people working are friendly and full of humour, good value well-kept ale & cider and quick service. Some "colourful character" customers now & then but that just adds to the fun! 5-stars, well deserved.

Nice place for decent cheap food,yes its never going to be amazing but for the price its ok.

Well it's a Spoons, but it has excellent disabled parking around it.

First visit I had the mixed grill, all but the sausage was tough as old boots full of grissle and fat. When I told a female member of staff she chose to ignore me and walked away without a word. On the second and final visit a day later I chose the ham, egg and chips. It was cold and unappealing.

One of the best National Trust properties we have visited. So much atmosphere and the whole team of guides are so welcoming and knowledgeable.

Excellent beers and the customer service in general is ok - the shift leader tonight was quite rude against Asian people - all in all nice place - mixed clientele but the service was let down by one person and the blonde girl knows who she is !!

Its a 'Spoons and we love them. There was a bit of confusion over our order as the app took the order and then the staff said they didn't have the ingredients. So we amended the order to accommodate the lack of ingredients and then they asked for 35p more to cover the revised order. And wanted paying on my credit card. Now this wasn't a problem, but I would have expected this to be waived as we were very accommodating about the issue. Also many small charges on credit cards can end up with temporary blocks being enforced. I offered to pay cash, but they wanted it on my card via the app. All very strange. We will stick to the brand though!

Great! Visited later on in the evening midweek and it was nice, chilled out and of course incredibly cheap. Probably the cheapest round in Derby… we will be back for food too! *edit: Breakfast is spot on, served hot and is super cheap, cheaper than usual. Toilets are also super clean.
