Busy Wetherspoons. Food was fast and high decent. Place is a bit tired though.

No food for me as i am staying in a local hotel, very busy place this, but served within 2 minutes and a pint of Coors for £2.99 even happier. Staff were very polite and the service was good. Lots of room to enjoy a nice quiet pint, and the food that was coming out around me was none stop, all looked good 👍🏻. I have another couple of weeks to work in the area, so I think i have found a nice place for a couple after work. You can always rely on good old wetherspoons.

Me and my wife used to be loyal customers (since 1977) at Babington Arms. We used to go in everyday until one day I collapsed in there and the staff had to put me in the recovery position. Now this happens quite often and has happened in the Babington quite a few times however I have COPD and angina so I can't do alot and the Babington was the only place i could go. After the incident i got checked over in the ambulance and they said I was okay and could go. Anyway the next day me and my wife go to the Babington arms as usual and got told on arrival that we were barred because I have had to many ambulances and too much paperwork for them to fill out! I couldn't believe that as I've been a loyal customer for over 40+ years and the staff have barred me from there. I now have to go to Jaxx which is a snooker hall and has 6 flights of stairs. Me and my wife is absolutely disgusting!

Love it! I've not to date, come across a Weatherspoon that I've felt negative about.

Its just an average spoons. Bit disorganised at the bar with only two people serving at times.

Excellent food very friendly service there was an issue which was quickly resolved and that is a hallmark have a well-run establishment. Looking forward to my next visit. A special shout for the lady on table service who is friendly attentive and helpful.

Had a lovely bar associate called Carly that served me today absolutely professional give me time to take my orders will give her 💯%. Food was absolutely gorgeous all my family really enjoyed it and I've said they will definitely be coming back. I would highly recommend Babington Arms Wetherspoons.

The food was good, had the festive menu the chicken and brie burger with cranberry sauce. It was very busy and we sat in the family area which was better as the rest of the place was pretty much full of people drinking. I know it's a pub and this is what you get but we went in for food at lunchtime so wanted it more relaxed. The only thing that I'd say needs improving is the coffee area. It's right next to the kitchen doors and there is only one machine so you are having to wait a long time with staff trying to get past with plates of food. Which must be very annoying for staff. All in all I'd go again but probably not with children. I feel the other whether spoons in derby is a lot better.

Nice food this place is good to go get sum food as it's not as bizy as the standard order in derby . As per witherspoon glasses on tablets, but that's spoons for you tablets was cleared slowly, so not too bad as staff was bizy definitely go back

Not a bad place, atmosphere was okay.

Went during a Saturday afternoon Amazing food, service. Despite the staff being overrun, the place was packed, probably 120 people inside and about 12 members of staff (including kitchen staff) taking orders at the bar, delivering food and drinks. The poor staff were so busy they could do with another 5 bodies easily. Great staff need more support though.

Cannot go inside or outside with my dog. Obviously they do not want regular customers that are sensible. I feel discriminated against, when I am willing to sit outside with the smokers, in the rain. Most pubs in Derby are pub friendly. DOWN MARKET WETHERSPOON WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP.

It’s a good Spoons; nothing untoward. Prices are slightly cheaper here than the Standing Order. It’s more of a Traditional’Spoons with a large drinking area and not much more.

I’ve been a few times now for breakfast and I can say every time it’s spot on it’s delicious & fresh and I can get over how cheap it is . Staff are lovely too very helpful going again today lol

A usual weatherspoons, very busy, short staffed, there was only one guy running around trying to serve food,drinks ,clear tables .thisxwas mid day in wk,out of most drinks staff complain about working past their shift times. Because she had to let us know the drinks we ordered weren't available.nit great. The food was OK, but the air con was on over our table, and it was freezing so the food didn't stay hot long.and Before you ask why sit there, it was busy, no other table .

It's a spoons, and at the moment its £179 for some pretty decent 'real ales'. Brilliant.

It's one of the better wetherspoons. Had an amazing pint, it was called Green Devil (Oakham brewery)6%. The food was hot and quick, and the service at the bar was quick. I can't complain other than the 2 mile walk to the toilet lol but that comes as standard at spoons.

When I was there today it was quiet and comfortable. And a nice atmosphere for both of us

This Pub has free live entertainment Monday club is the best day for this. Disabled access for all the mobility scooters. Friendly service.

Lovely place with lovely people.

It's a Spoons. There are no surprises. Toilets in the sky, sticky tables, cheap beer (decent but small selection of ales) and the ability to send side orders of peas to random tables. And BL only £1.99 a pint.

A very stereotypical weatherspoons, set in a beautiful building selling a huge selection of alcohol and food.

Like it, nice food, decent prices, ice cold beer, quick service, plenty of tables available, even when busy. Nice outdoor area, bit out of the way, but still within walking distance of the main bars. Recommend.

Well its witherspoons, the beers reasonable price, not a bad choice, busy and quick service. At least I wasn't sticking to the carpet lol all in all not bad, I'd nip in for a pint when in town again.

Friendly bar staff good beer at. a very fair price . Lovely landlady , attractive smell of meals being served although we didnt eat at that time.chap s on the next table said the food was great and ample quantity.

Thank you for a lovely breakfast! And thank ypu so much for specially making some desserts for the 4 kids with us. They had had breakfast at home and we wanted to keep them quiet while we ate. And even though it was before desserts were available you did it anyway! Thank you so much ☺️

I visited for breakfast today, attracted by the ostensibly good value deal: less than £5 for tea or coffee and an English breakfast. However, my experience was disappointing. The food was cold, and the service providers seemed confused about their own procedures. I wasn't given a receipt, and there was no verbal identification. If your food doesn’t arrive, you shouldn’t have to go searching for it, only to find it cold. This might have been an isolated incident, but it's regrettable that measures seem to be absent to prevent such confusion. The staff might be familiar with their procedures, but it's crucial to communicate these clearly to first-time visitors. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Would I return? Yes, if only to see if improvements are made. Everyone deserves a second chance, but if the same issues occur again, I wouldn't return. I hope my next visit will be better.

I used the toilets for free which is nice but it's a spoons so depressing vibe as usual

This is a propper British city centre pub. The food is decent the staff are pretty good & the atmosphere is great & it's not too heavy on the pocket either. Good place to meet, eat & have a few drinks with friends all its missing is music on the weekends.

Good food and great variety of ales, lagers and ciders at a reasonable price. All in all a fantastic freindly pub

Food is okay. There are good choices for breakfast. Fast service and staff of polite and friendly. Lots of early morning drinkers, so it can get a little lively at times.

Waited ages for drinks that we order via the app. The guy who bought our drinks over mentioned they were understaffed. Definitely could feel the tension between the bar staff!

Great staff, always willing to help, kitchen service is fast as are the floor staff when cleaning tables etc, food has always been spot on, and bar service is helpful and fairly quick, as I'm new to the area I have always been treated fairly and respectively one of the best spoons I've been in.

Bearing I mind there were children in there the language from a few loud talkers was fairly choice.

Usual wetherspoon pub with quick and friendly service.

Typical weatherspoons inside, but much more of a pub for drinking than dining. Doesn't have the same historical feel as most weatherspoons pubs, and tends to have more people there for a pint than a meal during the day. Never been there for a drink in the evening. However staff are friendly and it's nice and open.

Disgraceful food and service. Burns night so ordered Caledonian burgers only one beef Pattie (advertised two) dry and thin, forgot whiskey sauce, bland, haggis scraped remnants appeared to be reheated.no taste, poor portions, (although Scottish menu, so to be expected). Felt nauseous afterwards. We’ve had good food in other venues but this establishment has let themselves down & let Wetherspoons down.

Been there many times with family. Foods are great and price is very reasonable. staff are nice and helpful. Love the self ordering system too.

Everything was as you'd expect. Though the app said hotchocolate was unavailable but when we went up for the tea and coffee, hot chocolate was there? The disabled toilet was stinking, though. It was almost like someone used every where but the toilet to pee in, but the only evidence was a very strong unpleasant aroma.

Tipycal wetherspoons pub, good selection of drinks and beers 🍺🍷🍻,downside is people smoking in the entrance to the building.

Poor service. Cold steak and mash was dry and cold. Not enough paper tissues or extra cutlery arround.

I had a nice time at the Babington Arms. I had chicken wings and a couple of pints of Old Empire. It was all excellent value for money. My food was delivered promptly and I got my drinks with no fuss. It was a nice pub to sit in and have a couple of drinks. There was a good mix of people around and it was reasonably busy for a Sunday afternoon. I felt a bit sorry for one of the staff as she was told off for not wearing a Christmas jumper, but then none of the other staff were either. I thought she was a nice girl and that she was being undermined in her job by the way that she was spoken to in front of a customer. Another staff member asked a customer to take his feet off “her” furniture. This was also quite rude, although I wouldn’t put my feet on a seat, I would imagine that this was quite inadvertent and these kinds of demands from some of the staff created a slightly intimidating environment. I wasn’t personally spoken to rudely and I enjoyed my visit overall. It might be useful to bear in mind that the pubs try to operate as cheaply as possible and you probably won’t be made to feel as welcome as you might in other pubs or restaurants.

Fast food and cheap beer. They have the Cheap Rate Plates on the menu so less than a fiver for a brunch and drink.

Came in today for our usual breakfast with my mother.not long having sat down sophie came past with her usual cheery welcome.always has a smile and hello.x
